There were so many but lately I’ve been thinking about the short one-scene epilogue of camera ready, especially this little bit of dialogue:

Kimmo whistles, impressed.

"Wow. Don't tell him I've jerked off to him." He shakes his head and chuckles. "Or, better yet, don't tell my wife I've jerked off to your boyfriend."

Kimmo' s words melt into a laughter, wholehearted and bellowing, and he parts from his young skater with a friendly pat on his back.

do you have any good fic recs atm? (any fandom) i'm just looking for something with lots of feels and your recs are always lovely

i certainly do anon! here are a few fics i’ve read over the past few weeks that i liked a lot. lots of different fandoms but no phan because i haven’t read phanfic for an age :( someone rec me stuff!

an avalanche of detour signs by gyzym (a legend) - a sherlock fic that’s all about molly, and rightly so. i don’t need to be obvious and say that gyzym’s writing is amazing, because of course it is, this is just very lovely. 

theft by finding by varnes - i’ve been reading a lot of buzzfeed unsolved atm and this is by far the one that’s stuck with me. it’s shane/ryan reuniting after a break-up and yet also an indiana jones au. it’s awesome. 

the colour of cartoon sunshine by junkshopdisco - shrieked when i found this on ao3 because i read it on lj back in the day. merlin rpf, which i don’t read much of (weird because i adore colin morgan) but maybe i don’t read much because nothing will be like this is. everyone is so believable and the dialogue is great.

same damn hunger by marienadine - i know nothing about bts beyond them having some catchy bops and great style. this is an epic fwb fic with added pining and was exactly what i needed to read. i also don’t know what anyone involved looks like really so i sorta read it like fiction, which is something i always love about reading fics for a fandom you’re not in. 

grow something wild and unruly by dalmatienne - i don’t read as much hockey as i used to, but one of my go-to pairings is gabe/tyson. also, take a break here to google gabriel landeskog’s face. thank me later. essentially this is cowboys in love and pining while on a trip to the rodeo and it’s delightful.

my unicycle has one wheel by mcspot is a fic that genuinely had me in stitches the first time i read it-it's a brock boeser/elias pettersson fic where elias isn't a hockey player, but is a member of the Wiggles

all i ever wanted (was your sweet potato) by bluejayys and meerminne is a connor mcdavid/dylan strome fic that's an absolute gem-both aren't hockey players, but it makes a lot of use of craigslist's missed connections and is a RIOT

side to side by venvephe is a tyson barrie/gabe landeskog au where tyson teaches a spin class ej drags gabe to and it's light and fun and makes me giggle

friday never hesitate by dalmatienne is a jt compher/tyson jost/alexander kerfoot fic that i know i rec all the time but it's honestly such a charming and feel good and has such a fun tone to it

why i love it: honestly to this day i have zero idea who these men are, however, this is just the most charming regency au i’ve encountered, and i absolutely loved it. it’s got a little bit of everything-compelling dynamics between the couple, fake dating, the kind of hand touches that make me feel like i’m watching pride and prejudice (2005).  absolute gem of a fic

i hope everyone’s week is off to a lovely start! i thought i’d share one of my favorite ot3 fics with y’all on this (kind of gloomy, where i’m at) monday!

friday never hesitate by dalmatienne

pairing: jt compher/tyson jost/alexander kerfoot

summary: Tyson remembers plenty of Beer Olympics. The house had been pumping with people and even though Landy and MacK’d been fighting over the aux cord all night, the music had been just right and just loud enough. Tyson, JT, and Kerf’d teamed up as Team North America and kicked ass at three-person beer pong. They’d swept so many teams in the tournament, Tyson doesn’t know how much he’d had to drink, but he does know this: they’d been legen- wait for it -dary.

And fine, okay, so Tyson doesn’t really remember much of what happened after they won the beer pong tournament, but that’s not his fault. His alcohol tolerance just hasn’t been the same since last summer when Barzy’d given him mono.

Or, the story of how Tyson Jost almost concusses one best friend, sends another into anaphylactic shock, nearly drives his roommate to drink, and manages to make everything better in one short week.

why i love it: okay, a well done greek life au always gets me going (and as someone who is very queer and was very involved with greek life, tyson googling rules about who he can pin is just....such a mood) and i love a good polyamorous fic, so this one just kind of.....does it all for me. it’s charming and earnest and the characterizations are so fun (and bro-y, but in the best way). it didn’t make it onto my emotional support fic rec list, but it was a contender, because it does always make me feel better.

This is an unfair question, you know! 5 is so little and yet I read so little and know only a shamefully tiny fraction of so many amazing persons’ works. But here are some from the top of my head.

In no particular order, as links to ao3 profiles:

dalmatienne - amazing bubbly writing, ideas that are full of fantasy and fun kind of magic. Also knowledgeable when it comes to things that matter, like liner materials for pick-up cargo beds.

bauer - they may have blocked me on Tumblr, idk, but the writing skill is indisputable.

eafay70 - the sweetest person ever, versatile and productive, i don’t know who else handles so many pairings and characters. Deserves so much love.

ThoseDaysThatWill - writing hockey Finns is a way to my heart. Writing dialogue-driven fun ensemble fic is a way to my heart.

lllookalive - I throw this in as a writer of a hockey fic I love dearly, but if anyone wants to check out two fresh Good Omens fics, do! (I’m not in the fandom and I haven’t even read them, but the writing in Why We Fight was so GOOD and the sex SO HOT so if that’s your thing... take this as a rec)
