just another example of fitz being fitzy, that's all

golden fool, chapter 6: fitz, on his way to see jinna, wants to get her a gift and can't figure out what it should be. the first thing he thinks of is earrings. but nah - earrings are too "personal and permanent." earrings are too personal and permanent.

then he keeps dithering and finally decides that what he needs is a "friendly" gift. a gift he could give the fool or hap without feeling awkward. so he settles on a bag of nuts. 🙄

now - the fact that fitz could see earrings as too intimate a gift, and be looking for something "friendly" akin to what he might give beloved or hap, while forgetting that he literally insisted beloved keep his freedom earring makes me want to kick him off the buckkeep town docks.
