°•☆• Candid Moment in a posed photo shoot 🙃 - love these opportunities! The photo session with Michael Mylonas @michamylonas was such a joy because he has got such a positive energy about him. He and his family own several bars in Reutlingen (for example the beautiful @altebank_rt ) but he is also employed as an estate agent. When I asked him why he still works as an employee when he could just focus on his own business he replied because he loves his work so much. °•☆ "Look, last week this tree was pink and now it`s basically green", said Annie and took a sip from the hospital coffee she brought for her and her sister to the park. "Hmm", Emily looked up. "You know, I was so busy working on this book project that I haven`t even noticed Kevin looking sickly", she said. "I certainly haven`t noticed the state of this tree." She felt the familiar sting of guilt in her stomach. "Look at me, Emily", her sister urged her. „Our brother is gonna be fine, the doctor said so - so stop beating yourself up about it." "I know. It`s just that I hardly took the time to chat with him for longer than five minutes in the last few weeks. I kept thinking: once I`ve finished renovating the house, we can go on that trip to the seaside. And then the opportunity with the book came along and I thought once I`ve finished the book project..." "Well, how is it going? Are you making progress?" "Some days more, and some days feel like I want to throw it all into the bin... I`m not sure if I can even finish it now." "You will, Emily, I`m certain of it. But you need to notice the colours of trees and stuff in order to enjoy the process if you know what I mean. Kevin will be as good as new in a couple of weeks and we can take that trip together. You might need to ask for a later deadline, but honestly: Would that be that bad?" Emily took a deep breath. It would probably not be much of a problem to move her deadline. How to dress is one of the most frequent questions my clients ask me when we plan our photo session. For a start, I always advise them to bring along two or three outfits. This way we get a bigger variety in the imagery but also, we have different options to choose from. As a creative it is so important to be resilient. Resilience means turning a minus into a plus, turning difficulties into opportunities and using seemingly unfavorable situations for learning and growing as a character and a professional. When I met up with Karina @karina_travel_beauty for our photo session the light was glorious. As you can see in the picture it even painted some beautiful shadows on the wall in the background to add to the atmosphere. However, circumstances aren’t always as perfect. As professionals we need to get good results regardless. Even when the weather or circumstances aren’t the way we hoped they would be. And the best way to achieve exactly that is not to waste time on stuff that we would like to change but can’t. And this really goes for life in general. You probably know that saying „God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, …“ The first step to resilience is acceptance. Being annoyed doesn`t help at all. It just takes our energy and kills our nerves. And most of all: If our head is occupied with being annoyed and worried, how can it focus on a solution? However: especially when it’s about something in our personal life like our health this can be so hard right? But don’t worry if you can’t be positive straight away but react annoyed, scared or frustrated at first. We are humans after all!! Resilience trainer Monica Fiel says, even super resilient people can`t always see the bright side straight away either. But “after the first shock, they say: 'Well, it is what it is.’ And: "Could there be a chance for change?’ So it`s not so much about never ever being annoyed at all! But it`s more about limiting the time spent with annoying to the very minimum. And then accept the situation asap. What helps me there a bit, is trusting God and thinking, that everything happens for a reason, even though I might not see it at the very moment.
