Here are a few Tarak and Titus interactions from the Part One novelization I just had to share!

I love the idea of them being best friends, so these little moments from the novel made me so happy:

Note: [The stuff in brackets are things I added to provide context.]

At the Colosseum (this isn't a direct interaction, but it's amusing how Tarak is somewhat eager to meet the general):

Tarak smiled in amusement and pointed to one of the gladiators wrestling. "That man there. That must be Titus... General!" A gladiator with a face that wore many wins and losses turned to Tarak. "It's not. General Titus does not fight anymore." Tarak frowned. "But he is here! Did he lose? Injured?"

When they find Titus on the floor:

Tarak scrunched his face then raised his eyebrows. "Well, I hope he fights better than he smells."

Before meeting the Bloodaxes:

With her elbows on her knees and head lifted, Kora studied Tarak's face. "You left [your planet] before either [death or enslavement] could happen to you." Tarak couldn't look at any of them. Kai stood leaning against the freighter with a blade of hemp root between his teeth. He stared at Tarak. "Great, now we've added a coward to the army, that'll be a help." Titus watched Tarak. "At least he dares to stand and fight with us now, pilot."

During the fight on Gondival:

Titus scooped up a dropped Hawkshaw automatic and stood wide-legged next to Tarak. The two men caught each other's eye and exchanged wicked smiles while they mowed down the soldiers of the Realm with the same amount of mercy the Realm had extended to them.

After Titus's speech:

[Titus] gave [Kora] a wide grin before pulling out his flask and taking a long gulp. He passed it to Tarak, who drank in solidarity.

When they land on Veldt:

Tarak spotted the Pleasure Emporium. "Do we have time for a quick drink? One for the road?" Titus elbowed him. "A drink? Is that all that is on your mind?" "Hey, I've been shackled for way too long. You'd be craving a drink too."

what kind of cages and bedding/flooring do you use for your indoor chickens and why?

Horse stall pine pellets, why? Because they are moisture wicking and make cleaning up chicken poop a breeze. The birds also LOVE to dig around and bathe in it. Biggest issue though is how dusty it is so I'm willing to try other kinds of bedding. I have hemp bedding on the birds wishlist, it's a bit hard to source locally (if your one of my locals reading this feel free to tell me if you have found a good vendor) and it's expensive to ship unfortunately so I haven't tried it yet lol but I hear it's also a great indoor alternative since it's less dusty.

The pine pellet bedding is also very cheap it's only about five to six dollars depending on the location. It's very hard to beat that! I dislike shavings because they arent as moisture wicking and sometimes the smell is a bit to much for me. I'd rather have to deal with dust then little wood pieces everywhere.

I can't do paper based bedding at all because some of my birds think paper is the most delicious ambrosia.
