Low energy Devotional Acts for when you don’t have a lot of energy (or time, or money, etc.) pt. 3
🎲Hermes🎲
- watch a comedy special
- watch a funny show or movie
- watch travel videos
- watch sports (literally any sport)
- if able learn a new language if unable to do that listen to music in a foreign language or watch a movie or show in a foreign language
- learn about the underworld and His role as a psychopomp
- the story of Him stealing Apollon’s cattle always makes me laugh so if you’re feeling down maybe read about that or watch a video about it!
- eat food from a foreign country or watch cooking videos with recipes from foreign countries
- make a bucket list of places you’d like to travel (doesn’t necessarily have to be other countries! It can be within your own country or in your own state! Or hell maybe there’s places in your own town/city you haven’t checked out yet that you’d like to go see!)
- learn some geography!
- listen to a devotional playlist for Him
- play some board games or card games or dice games
🌊Poseidon🌊
- listen to oceanic/sea soundscapes
- learn about earthquakes
- listen to sea shanties and learn about why they were used
- watch documentaries or shows about marine animals or the ocean/sea themselves
-learn about horses
- stay hydrated
- watch aquarium videos! They’re very soothing
- if able print out or buy ocean themed coloring pages/coloring books and color! (I also think the finished product could go great on His altar if you have one!)
- learn about and if able to take trips to local ponds or lakes (and if able go to the beach)
- learn about marine plants and marine biodiversity
- watch videos about naval history, or naval warfare
- learn about boats and sailing history
- watch videos about hurricanes! Learn about them!
- listen to a devotional playlist for Him
- learn about shipwrecks or maritime disasters if that interests you (my favorite YouTube channel for these vids is: Oceanliner Designs)
- watch ocean or maritime related shows or movies (I personally like The Terror which I get isn’t 100% ocean related but y’know)

Never be afraid of not being “genuine” if you have to set reminders to worship or pray. It counts all the same. 💚

I asked Lord Hermes for my package a day early in exchange for fruit snacks. Not any fruit snacks, the good ones.
Guess who got his package?

This is just a reminder that your altars are personal to you! What you associate with your deities can be based on history or purely on your own experiences & interpretations!
I got these two calico critters from some blind bags & decided I could associate the robin hood character with Hermes and the little flower mouse with Aphrodite, so they reside on their altars now! :) <3

Trying to Explain How the Gods Feel to Me
Inspired by @khthonioi and their post. They’re really sweet so check them out!
Hermes: The excitement of getting a letter from a real person, winning a coin toss, suddenly breaking into a sprint, helping a friend up after they’ve fallen, getting on a train and not knowing where you’ll get off, speaking in a foreign language for the first time, having someone you love stay over at your house, cool evening air after a hot day, jumping a fence, winning a game of go fish as a child, visiting a bustling market, getting doubles with dice, successfully passing a soccer ball
Ares: Doing what needs to be done, finding old scars, persevering no matter what, the feeling that comes after a workout, overcoming a fear, bandaging up a wound, the buzz of a protest, feeling the blood of all that have come before you running through your veins, holding an old pocket knife, wearing a leather jacket, the smell of dragons blood, lighting a match only to blow it out, the satisfaction of cracking ice, pressing on a bruise and finding it no longer hurts
Artemis: Slipping into worn boots, balancing on a log with no fear of falling, dancing alone in your room, late night walks, running your hands through a dogs fur, severing the stem of a flower with a knife, the lightness after cutting off a lot of hair, twirling in a flowy skirt or dress, being able to see at night thanks to the moon, the drive to keep going, the gurgling of a stream, making eye contact with a wild animal and feeling a connection, cooking on a campfire
Zeus: The rumble of thunder in your chest, seeing justice be carried out, knowing this is where you’re meant to be, watching lightning hit the earth, realizing you can change the outcome, entering a dark oak forest, watching a bird soar against the wind, doing what other deemed impossible, a warm hand on your shoulder, smelling petrichor in the air, finding proof of something you knew to be true, seeing the trees bend but not break to the wind, feeling all the hair on your body stand up, the heaviness in the air before a storm
