Today we celebrate the Venerable Confessor Gabriel Urgebadze the Fool for Christ of Georgia. Saint Gabriel is one of the holiest people to have lived in the 20th century. Born and having lived his whole life in Georgia, Saint Gabriel was an extraordinary person even from his childhood. He often carried sticks and ran with them held up in the air, and birds would flock to sit on the child's sticks. He was first introduced to the faith at the age of 7 as he grew up in an atheistic communist society where orthodoxy was shunned. At the age of 12, he had a vision of an evil spirit which tried to scare him as the evil one was tired of his prayerful state. The young Saint was not phased by the vision, but only strengthened his faith in God. Growing up, he dedicated his whole life to Christ to the point where even his mother, who was a Christian, demanded him to "act like normal boys". He was often ridiculed for his faith and even suffered torture from the communist party, leaving him half dead. He spent much time at monasteries and eventually became a monk, but the trials did not end there. The communists could not stand his preaching and ordered that he be admitted to a mental asylum. This did not stop his fervour however. Once when conversing with a fellow Georgian who followed Hinduism, he performed a similar miracle as did Saint Spyridon at the first Ecumenical Council - he held bread which at the name of the Holy Trinity, turned into fire, wheat, and water. Towards the end of his life, he lived at a hermit and was often seen conversing with people that were not seen by others. On November 2nd 1995, the Holy Elder gave up his soul to the Lord, having served Him from the age of 12. The featured holy icon was painted in the first half – mid-15th century in the Church of St. George, Novgorod. As you see in the picture, it contains four different scenes, each bearing a religious symbolism important for the correct interpretation of the sacred image. In the icon, there are scenes of the Resurrection of Lazarus, the Holy Trinity, Candlemas, and Saint John the Evangelist Dictating to Prochorus. It is not often that you see works with such a combination of miniature icons at the same time.

It's time to ask yourself some questions. Do you trust God's plan? Do you accept the will of Almighty, just like Jesus Christ did? Do you stay close to God when you're going through painful moments or leave Him just like He will judge you for crying, think that you're weak for having human emotions that are normal? Are you struggling to come back to God after sinning because you feel embarrassed and have so much shame in you?

Let me tell you something. God never left you, He Is still by your side and won't leave you. You're a child of God, a child of the Almighty Who created you with so much love. He only wants the best for you. You don't have to run away from Him when you're having a worse day. He knows how you're feeling and what you're doing, so what are you trying to hide from Him?

God won't mock you for having human emotions. He will help you control them when they are negative. He will take away all the burden from you and give you peace, and love. He will be there to listen to you and comfort you. When He feels far away, He carries you in His Arms and makes sure that you're safe. He never abandons you, so don't leave Him. Instead, draw closer to Him and let Him comfort you. After all, He only wants the best for you. He loves you so much, don't forget about it.

He loves you so much that He even sent His Only Begotten Son on earth. He was innocent, never sinned but took all of our sins from us at the moment He died on the cross. Jesus Christ died in such a brutal way, even though He didn't do anything wrong, so that we can be cleaned in the blood of His. Our sins are forgotten and forgiven after we repent, and ask God to forgive us. Do you still think that God will not want you to come back to Him? Believe me, He cares about you and wants you to be closer to Him. He can leave every sheep of His just to go and search for the one that is lost. When you come back to Him, His joy will be huge, so don't waste time no more. Repent and come back to your Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is the Way, Truth, Light and Life. Amen.

Today we celebrate the memory of the great and holy Bishop Spyridon of Tremethus, the Wonderworker. Saint Spyridon was a humble married farmer who lost his wife and daughter and then became Bishop of Tremethus. He is most known for his miracle at the First Ecumenical Synod where he put the Arian heresy to shame, showing the three persons of the Holy Trinity to be One God with the example of a clay brick. When he confessed the name of the Father, fire was released from the brick. In the name of the Son, water dripped down and in the Holy Sprit, only the dust was left in the hand of the Saint. Today, I would like to remind you that you don't have to be discouraged.

You were waiting for so long for the miracle, you were praying to get healed, you were praying for well-being of your family and solving your problems. You were praying to God to take away your sadness, loneliness and worry, but it seemed to not work.

If you feel this way, just remember what was written in the Bible in Matthew 7:7-11.

"⁷ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. ⁹ Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? ¹¹ If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"

Keep seeking God, keep on asking Him for help, put all your trust in Him and rest in His arms. Do not worry, for He will help you and solve your problems when the right time comes. Just keep on believing in Him and remember that He can do everything. There was nothing, but He created this world with using His power and nothing else. He can help you too.

In Jesus Name, I pray that whoever asks The Lord to help Him will receive help and The Holy Spirit will be his/her Guide.
