Summary: Seems Trey as a cat was a pouncer. He cares not that you’re busy, he will jump.

(message received, I shall ignore the name as asked. I have had cats that were of similar attachment attitudes. Adorable, truly. I just love that empty headed expression on his face. While his thoughts may be filled with the reader, the face just looks so endearingly dumb. I love it.)

“No.” You stepped back when you noticed Trey the cat lay himself flat against the ground, pupils nearly consuming the gold of his irises. “Don’t you dare.”

You’re carrying too many volatile and delicate ingredients to catch him. Doesn’t help they’re stupid expensive. You’re already paying the price for the first mess up with having Trey be a cat, and you’re not about to overdraft your bank account on top of that.

You placed some jars on the table, organizing them by the steps in this recipe before you heard a chitter of sorts. The kind of chitters a cat gives when they see a bird, or see something interesting.

You looked down, catching Cat Trey’s wide eyes as he sat near your feet, tail held up with the tip lazily lolling about. Honestly, you can see there’s barely a thought behind those eyes. Well, besides wanting to jump on you.

Ugh, as funny of a story this will be tell Trey later just to embarrass him, the fact he isn’t smarter than a cat is going to be annoying to handle, especially since you’re messing with a recipe that’s very time sensitive.

When you noticed his tail start to do their playful flicks, you gently pushed Trey away with your foot, once more repeating, “No.” This recipe needs to be done, you have to set up the timers and you’re not about to distract yourself until this potion was made. Trey needs to get back to normal. You gotta unfuck this mistake.

Probably would’ve been a good idea to have snacks to distract him with, but you honestly thought a Cat Trey would be more well behaved than this. Too bad though, you’re already pouring in liquids and crushing up ingredients. You can’t afford to stop now.

Too bad Cat Trey took this opportunity to jump into your arms just as they were empty.

“Wha—Trey! No!”

This cat will put your potion making skills to the test.

I won’t lie, at first I didn’t really care too much about deuce in the prologue but after 1, 2, I was like damn this guy is an idiot but it’s in a cute charming way. I also really love that he cares so much for his mum and wants to change his ah- less than stellar past for her if you ever listen to that nashid ‘Number one for me’ by Maher Zain it fits Deuce so well lol

RUGGIE GUCCHI BOI AAKKKKAKKAKAKKAKJDGGSGH This fandom doesn’t simp enough for him😤😤 the literal embodiment of perfection! HE CAN RUN MY POCKETS AND ILL SAY THANK YOU!!! I relate so much to him, I personally grew up in a low income family so I really get the kind of struggle that Ruggie has. But also he puts up with Leona like a champ, and he’s not even recognized as vice leader for it >:(

Not only that but like the fact that Ruggies social-economic standing basically hints that the economy of after glow savanna is unfair. Maybe the royals tax the common people too much and mishandle the country’s economy and make poor decisions leading to inflation🧐 SO WORLD BUILDING BBY!!! But I doubt twst will ever explore this lol

Trey

Tbh at first Trey may seem like a plain character but then after some digging, he’s actually a complex person. Ok so hear me out- in chapter 1 at first it seemed like Trey was kinda just endorsing Riddles behavior and not really having a spine to stand up to him despite the complete unfairness in front of him. BUT through Riddles back story we start to see Treys intentions. It isn’t that he agrees with Riddle but rather that he wanted to give a sort of safe place to him, Riddle has absolutely no control of his live at home and Trey KNOWING this didn’t want his dorm leader to feel trapped or confined at school too. Ofc it got out of hand with Riddle taking things too far but the intent wasn’t malicious.

TL;DR Trey is a complex character and needs more recognition for it.
