summary: as the days goes by, your relationship with Jay becomes even more domestic, and it's only about time until you both make it official.
author’s notes: welcome to PART NINE! we've come so far, haven't we?
after feeling off for about a week, I finally managed to finish this. I said I wanted it out before December, but it's only December 3rd now so I guess I am not that far behind.
Recently one of my closest moots, @end-hyphen, just had her birthday! So I am dedicating this part to her since she is the official ambassador of this series HAHA
as for the title of this part, it means "by nightfall" and it is taken from one of maye's song, which also happens to be my favorite.
I hope you'll enjoy reading this part too!

You stirred in bed and changed your position to face the right side of it. When you felt that the bed was empty, you slowly opened your eyes and let yourself adjust to the brightness of the room. Judging from the sunrays, it was probably close to 9 in the morning. It usually takes you a while to gather your consciousness whenever you wake up, and for a second you thought you were still dreaming when you heard the faint sound of music from outside.
Recognizing that the tune playing was Frankie Valli’s Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, you walked out the bedroom door slowly and found Jay mopping the floor, using the mop handle like a microphone stand.
“Pardon the way that I stare, there’s nothing else to compare.”
You leaned on the doorway and crossed your arms in front of your chest, amused at the sight.
“The sight of you leaves me weak, there are no words left to speak.”
You chuckled when you saw Jay clutching his chest like he was in immense pain, still unaware that you were watching him.
“But if you feel like I feel, please let me know that it’s real…”
Jay started mopping again as he continued to sing, beginning to reach places on the floor that he had missed before. You were sure he was going to catch you looking in a moment.
“You’re just too good to be true,” Jay sang and his eyes finally land on you. “Can’t take my eyes off you.”
You were actually amazed that he was not surprised to find you awake, since he really was the jumpy type, but when he ditched the mop to pull you into him all you could do was laugh. He spun you around to the music and continued to sing, this time right to your face.
“I love you, baby, and if it’s quite alright, I need you, baby.”
The way he moved you around with ease and sang to you with theatrical expressions made you unable to shake off the huge grin on your face. He led you through your moves with utmost grace and only stopped when the song reached the end of the chorus.
“Let me love you,” he sang, dipping you and kissing your collarbones. “Good morning, my queen.”
When he pulled you back up, you smashed your lips into his to thank him for the lovely serenade. He even stepped back from how sudden you jumped into him, but then he placed his arms around your waist firmly as he let you kiss him with passion.
“I feel like I should be rewarding you for cleaning up,” you breathed into his mouth as your hands clenched his t-shirt.
“That’s bullshit. I live here too so it’s only my responsibility,” Jay responded, rubbing your back gently. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I really need to finish mopping.”
You giggled when he attacked your cheeks with kisses, and when he let go of you, you headed straight to the kitchen. Last night, you entertained Jake, Heeseung, and Sunghoon to a lovely dinner, since game night was now officially held at your place. Whenever they came over, Jay was always in charge of cooking, while you were always responsible for cleaning. However, the boys stayed longer than usual last night, and because you were having so much fun with them, you decided to push back cleaning to the next morning.
Staring at the spotless counters and empty sink, you blinked before checking the drawers and cabinets for the clean utensils. You looked back at Jay, who coincidentally was also looking at you, and he smiled and gave you a wink.
“Jay,” you whined, closing the drawers and crossing your arms again. “I already said I would clean this morning.”
“And I’m happy to take care of it,” Jay answered, not looking back at you. He was done mopping and was now about to put back all the stuff to their right places. “Don’t worry about it.”
The gears in your head began turning, figuring out the best way to show Jay your gratitude, and the ideas that popped up in your head ranged from buying him a gift to, well, giving him head. You then concluded you would do everything, but not all at once.
---
The sun was setting and the lighting made your office turn into an orange hue. You checked the time on your phone, wondering why it was taking so long for Jay to return to the office. There were no missed calls or text messages either, so you decided to just call him, thinking that he’d get back to you in an instant if he was unable to pick it up.
“Hey,” Jay’s voice echoed throughout the room as you put him on loudspeaker. “I really was about to call you.”
“Is the meeting over?” You asked, eyes scanning your monitor. You then heard a little bit of rustling and faint sounds of people. “Where are you?”
“I just arrived at the supermarket. It’s on my way back and I figured there were a couple of things that need restocking.”
He’s really a malewife at this point, you thought.
“Okay, so does that mean you’re not coming back?” You typed for a while before clicking save on a document. “I’ll see you at home?”
“Yeah.” You could hear Jay fumbling with the phone. “Hey, can you turn on the camera real quick?”
You picked up your phone and did as he said. You were then greeted with the aisle filled with sanitary products. Frowning, you waited for Jay to give you context.
“I checked last night and I think you’re running out of pads, but I forgot which one you use,” Jay explained, stepping closer to the shelf of pads. “Is it this one?” He asked, pointing to a pink packaging.
You were so touched that all you could do was smile and cover your mouth.
“Baby? I think someone is looking at me weird,” Jay said, voice sounding worried. “Nothing to see here, Ma’am, I’m just picking up stuff for my girlfriend.”
You realized Jay was explaining himself to a lady passing by, and you just laughed silently. “It’s the one to your right, babe.”
“Oh, right,” Jay responded. “You use the one with wings, huh. Why are they so fucking expensive?”
“Because being a woman is fucking expensive, love,” you chuckled as you replied to him. “Now get out of there before someone thinks you’re a pervert.”
“See you soon, Boss,” Jay ended the call with a smooching sound to the phone.
You decided to call it a day and started tidying up your things. You placed your empty glass on the minibar since the janitor would always start cleaning from there, and as you gathered all your belongings into your bag, you heard two knocks on the door.
“Yes, Hwiyoung.”
Hwiyoung peeked into your office while holding up his phone. “Park told me to get your car ready. Are you done for the day?”
The way you did not even tell Jay that you were done with work, and that he just assumed, but did it correctly, made you feel butterflies. It was not the first time he did it either.
“Yes, I am,” you smiled at your second assistant as you held up your bag. “You can tell the others to get off work too if they’re all done for the day. I don’t want anyone staying late.”
“Alright, Miss. Does that mean I can make plans?” Hwiyoung asked you while he texted the group chat.
“Of course you can.” You walked to the door and waited until Hwiyoung was done texting. “Plans with a girlfriend?”
“Huh?” Hwiyoung blinked at you, obviously caught off-guard by your question.
You laughed at his reaction and gave him a pat on his shoulder. “You’re a good man, Hwi. If you’re dating someone, let me know. I need to make sure she’s not taking advantage of my assistant.”
Hwiyoung blushed at your comment and excused himself to go back to his desk. You said goodbye to him as you walked out of the office, smiling because you had never seen Hwiyoung so flustered before.
---
It was still early into the night, but you were already in your bed scrolling through your phone with the lights off. Jay told you he was going to hit the gym for a couple hours before heading home, so you had dinner without him and went on to shower and do your skincare routine. After a good twenty minutes of just laughing at TikTok videos, you began to feel sleepy, so you texted Jay that you were going to bed. His reply came to you late, as he only checked his phone once he was done, and by the time he arrived home, you were fast asleep.
The sound of him walking back and forth and even showering in the bathroom did not wake you up at all, and sometimes Jay was amazed at how you were actually a heavy sleeper. After washing up, Jay carefully climbed onto your shared bed and wrapped his arms around you, spooning you from behind. The coldness of his skin actually made you wake up, and you flinched a little when his skin made contact on yours.
“Sorry, baby,” Jay spoke softly into your ear before he leaned in to kiss your bare shoulder. “Did I wake you up?”
“You feel cold,” you commented, voice croaky from the sleep. You then turned around to face him. “Did you take a cold shower?”
Jay nodded. “Sorry for not spending the night with you.”
“It’s okay,” you yawned, hiding your face in Jay’s neck as he chuckled and stroked your back. “Are you not cold?”
“I’m not because I have you.” Jay rubbed your sides and kissed your forehead. “You’re always so warm.”
You hummed as you brought one hand up to caress Jay’s face. “I got the right temperature to shelter you from the cold.”
Jay chuckled at your statement and began kissing your face. You let him, not bothering to reciprocate because you knew that he knew you were too tired and only half awake. He kissed along your jawline, your neck, and stopped to suck your skin there once he heard you moan. Your grip on his shirt tightened as he moved down to your collarbone. He then grazed his lips over the top of your chest, tugging down the dainty camisole you had on to expose one of your breasts. When he latched on to your nipple, your fingers got lost in his hair, and you whined as he began sucking.
“Jay,” you whispered, “I don’t think I have the energy to do anything.”
He merely groaned at you as a response, too focused on giving your breasts the same amount of pleasure. You felt his teeth graze your skin and you hissed, pulling his hair back so he would look up at you.
“If you want to fuck, you’re gonna have to do all the work,” you said, your eyelids heavy as you struggled to speak. You could already feel your arousal dripping, so you figured he might as well proceed.
Jay moved back up to level with your face, and he touched your chin with his fingers as he kissed your lips. You sighed into him, and you were already feeling cold from the loss of contact from his hands on your body.
“Turn around,” he whispered.
You did as he said, and he quickly pulled you into his embrace again, with one arm under you and his hand cupping your breast, while his other hand pulled down your panties to your knees. You whimpered when you felt his cold fingers palming your core, and when he drew a stripe along your folds, you shivered.
“God, baby,” Jay grunted as he pulled down his boxers. “So wet.”
You placed your hand above his, guiding him to squeeze your breasts while he rubbed his shaft along your folds. He coated himself with your wetness until he felt it was time to align himself with you. You felt his tip grazing your entrance and you arched your back, pushing your ass towards his hip. He held you firmly by your waist as he entered you, bottoming out in one go, and all you could let out was a shaky breath.
“Fuck,” Jay said as he began thrusting in and out of you. “You’re so fucking warm. So fucking tight.”
You moaned in pleasure at the friction he was causing, and you guided his hand to make him rub your clit.
“Do you want me to go slow, baby?” He asked, leaning in to kiss your cheek.
You tilted your head so you could reach his lips and kissed him. “Any way you want,” you answered with a whisper.
Jay began gradually increasing his speed, sliding his dick in and out of you with ease from how much you were dripping for him. His thumb pressing on your clit made you feel like you were reaching your high even sooner, so you did not bother concealing the almost pornographic moans that you let out for him.
“Not too loud, my queen.” Jay kissed your neck and gently sucked on your skin. “I don’t want anyone else hearing your beautiful moans.”
Your hand traveled backwards, cupping his ass and pushing him closer to you, desperate to feel more of him. He chuckled and continued to rock his hips into you, and when he felt your grasp around his wrist tightening, he knew that you were close.
“Cum with me?” He asked, almost like a proposal. You nodded, and with a couple more strokes you arched your back as he released his cum inside of you, with you reaching your high just seconds after. Your walls clenched and milked him dry, and you began to feel the sting on your shoulder from how hard he was biting you there.
Jay’s arms wrapped around your waist, keeping you close to him as he did not show any signs of wanting to pull out of you soon. You stroked his arm lovingly, even bringing up one of his hand up to your lips so you can kiss it.
He chuckled, kissing the back of your head as a response. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, my prince,” you sighed. There was a brief moment of silence before you spoke again. “If you feel like you need me and I’m asleep, you can fuck me if you want. I mean I don’t have to be awake for it, right?”
You could feel Jay freeze when you uttered the last question. “Baby?” You called, tapping on his arm.
“You mean like… somnophilia?” Jay asked. When you nodded, Jay carefully slipped out of you and made you face his way. He pulled his boxers back up and you also put your panties back on during the process. “You can’t be serious.”
“You have my consent,” you stared into his eyes and intertwined your fingers with his. “I don’t mind.”
“Does that mean you would do the same thing to me too?” He asked, genuinely curious. The shift in the subject made you giggle.
“Do you want me to?” You asked back. “Like, if it gets too hard to wake you up, do you want me to try sucking you off while you’re still asleep?”
Jay closed his eyes and bit his lips, almost as if he was imagining it happening. “Please don’t judge me, but that actually sounds hot.”
You chuckled weakly, and it made Jay laugh with you too. He placed his hand behind your neck and pulled you into a kiss.
“Then you have my consent too,” he murmured into your lips. You mouthed a ‘good’, and the next thing you remember was the two of you drifting off to sleep.
---
It was the last week of November, and it had been a routine for you to visit Jay’s parents every last week of the month. Before you and Jay drive to his parents’ house on Saturday mornings, you would always grocery shop with him on Friday evenings. For this very reason, you cut your working day short and sent your employees home early as well.
The moment you entered the supermarket, though, you suddenly felt lethargic. You tailed Jay as he grabbed a cart and started walking towards the poultry section, and before he could grab anything, you tugged his sleeves.
“I’m actually really sleepy right now, I think I need coffee,” you said, voice already sounding weak. “Can I just wait at Starbucks?”
“Of course.” Jay let go of the cart to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. “Are you okay?”
You nodded for reassurance and gave him a smile. He then kissed your forehead before you turned around and walked towards the Starbucks that was strategically located next door. You checked the app on your phone and noticed they had a new menu, and you had a buy one get one free coupon. You decided to try out both the new drinks, figuring that Jay would want one once he was done shopping.
There was a line before you and when you sat down to wait for your order, it took a while for the barista to make your drinks. Once they called out your name, you quickly went to grab your drinks and waddled back to your table, setting the two cups in front of you. One was a gingerbread latte and the other was a red velvet oatmilk latte. You stared at them both, not realizing that Jay was already steps away from you.
“Well that was quick,” you commented, gesturing for Jay to take the seat in front of you.
“I already had a list,” Jay said, showing his phone and the shopping list that all had checkmarks on them. “What did you get?”
“New drinks. I wanted to try both but I don’t know which one I actually want,” you eyed the drinks and Jay smiled at you, noticing how you were already able to get rid of the fatigue even though you had not consumed any caffeine yet. “I’m gonna sip both.”
Jay watched calmly as you unwrapped a straw and punched it through the lid of the gingerbread latte. You gave it a swirl before sipping it curiously, and you stared into a distance. Jay was observing your face, waiting for a reaction. When your nose scrunched up, not in pleasure but in confusion, he chuckled softly.
“That’s weird,” you muttered bluntly, not exactly speaking to anyone. “Let me try this one.”
You used the same straw to sip on the red velvet drink, and your face lit up the moment you tasted it. Jay was now touching the gingerbread cup and looking at how pretty the color of the drink was, complete with the whipped cream and red sprinkles on top.
“This one is better,” you said, taking your straw out of the red velvet drink. You then pushed the cup towards Jay and handed him a new straw before putting your own back into the gingerbread latte and vigorously stirring the whipped cream into it.
Jay frowned. “I thought you said it’s better, why are you giving it to me?”
“Because you should give people the stuff that you like,” you answered, remembering that it was a lesson your parents taught you when you were young. “I’ll finish the gingerbread latte.”
“It’s okay, baby, I’ll drink that one.”
“Let me suffer the consequences of my own choice.” You raised a hand to stop Jay from taking your drink away from you. Jay snorted at your comment.
“Okay,” he said, wiping off the smirk on his face as he could not believe how adorable you were acting. “Can I at least try both too?”
You nodded and waited for Jay to sip the red velvet, and then you reluctantly handed over your gingerbread latte to him. He gave the exact same reaction that you made when you took the first sip and you giggled seeing his face.
“That is strong,” Jay commented after clearing his throat. “Alright, thanks for the drink, babe.”
You just smiled and continued to sip your gingerbread latte, chugging it down like there was no tomorrow since you did not want it to go to waste.
---
You and Jay arrived at his parent’s house early in the evening, when it was hours after lunch and was supposedly the best time for a coffee break. As soon as Jay pulled up in the driveway, you let yourself out and started bringing all the belongings towards the house. Jay’s mother opened the door just as you reached the porch and shrieked in surprise, seeing your face covered with the pile of groceries in your hands.
“Oh, dear Y/N, come here,” she said in a rush, taking half of your load off of you. You then grinned and leaned in as she kissed your cheek to greet you. “Thank God you arrived while the sun is still up.”
“Why? What’s the problem?” You asked as you ditched your shoes for the indoor slippers. You followed Jay’s mother to the kitchen once you checked that Jay has got the rest of the stuff from the car.
“Jay’s father, and yours too, soon, needs to go shopping for this Christmas party we’re attending. His suit doesn’t fit him anymore and I need his accessories to match mine.”
You nodded and finally realized where Jay has gotten his fashion sense from. “What’s the plan?”
“We can prepare dinner while the men go out shopping. Fun, right?”
You caught a paprika that almost rolled off the counter and smiled. “I’d love that, Mrs. Park.”
“Oh,” she waved off her hand at you once she was done setting the groceries on the island. “Enough with the formalities. What do you call your mother?”
“Mom?” You answered but asked at the same time.
“Alright, then just call me eomma so you don’t get confused,” Jay’s mother smiled warmly at you and put her hands on her hips. “So what should we start with?”
You were still in the middle of processing the shift in the way you were supposed to address Jay’s parents when Jay walked into the kitchen with his jacket already off and hanging on his arm, twirling the car keys on his finger.
“Appa just said you wanted me to take him shopping?” Jay asked his mother, kissing her on the cheek.
Jay’s mother merely nodded before looking back at you. “And you can call his dad appa too, okay?”
You smiled sheepishly as you nodded, and then you noticed Jay looking at you and then his mom. Jay’s father then appeared, looking all neat and stylish, brushing his hair back with a comb.
“Ready to go, son?”
“Are you going to make her cook? Eomma, she has zero experience.”
You scoffed at Jay’s remark while his mother roared with laughter. You then dragged Jay by his arm and made him walk towards his father to shoo him away, not forgetting to reach out to Jay’s father for a side hug.
“Kart later when you get back, Appa!” You said as you cheerfully waved at him and Jay walking away.
“Oh, it feels nice to be called appa by a daughter,” he said, placing a hand over his chest sentimentally. Jay rolled his eyes and just dragged his father to the front door.
You returned to the kitchen and washed your hand, noticing that Jay’s mother was already unwrapping some of the produce and laying all of them out on the island. You took the apron that she had prepared for you, and as you put it on you decided to stand strategically next to her.
“So, did he ask you yet?”
For some reason you knew what she meant even without her providing any more context. You cleared your throat before answering.
“Technically, yes, but he was kinda out of it,” you observed how Jay’s mother was chopping the paprika, and once you got it she handed over the task to you.
“What does that mean?” She asked, moving on to prepare other ingredients.
“He was drunk when he asked me.”
“Oh, that punk.”
You let out an unladylike cackle as a response towards Jay’s mother’s unfiltered feelings. You continued to cook with her, following every instruction and trying your best to keep up with the pace. In between activities, you also ended up sharing your biggest insecurities as well as your worries, and by the time cooking was done you were almost a crying mess.
“I just don’t want to let anybody down, Eomma,” you said as you choked back a tear.
“Sweetheart.” Jay’s mother turned to face you, wiping her hands on her apron before she put her hand under your chin to tilt your face up. “You’re not letting anybody down as long as you love him. And believe me, he adores you.”
You pouted and let a tear run down your face. Jay’s mother clicked her tongue and quickly wiped your tears away.
“Whatever your decision is,” she continued, “I’m sure he would respect it. And if he doesn’t, you tell me. So I can beat his ass.”
Her comment made you chuckle softly as another tear fell down your face, and because you were overwhelmed you opted to rest yourself in her embrace, hunching over since Jay’s mother was a little shorter than you. She rubbed your back in an effort to comfort you, and you squeaked a little ‘thank you’ in the middle of your sobs.
---
The drive back home was somewhat calm and comforting. Jay made you put on a playlist that he had specifically made for a night drive, which contained songs that were uplifting enough that it would keep the driver awake, but at the same time chill enough to keep the passengers content. You tapped your fingers on your thigh to the beat of the current song playing, and as the car stopped at a red light, Jay intertwined his fingers with yours and pulled your hand to kiss your knuckles.
You did notice that Jay loved showing you how much he cares for you through physical touch. You didn’t mind, and you did let him know that the way you showed him love was different. So on moments like this, where he would initiate contact, you would always smile to yourself, or to him, to acknowledge his form of expression.
This time was slightly different, though. You shifted in your seat and turned to face him, reaching out for a hug. He embraced you without question, also while keeping an eye on the red light.
“All good, babe?” He asked right in your ear as he stroked your hair gently.
You nodded before tilting your head to kiss him on the cheek. “I talked a lot with your mother today.”
The light turned yellow and Jay pulled back, rubbing your arm lovingly before putting his hands back on the steering wheel. “Is it something I should be concerned about?”
“No,” you answered softly. “But I’m loving the monthly meetups we have with them. Promise we’ll never skip it?”
Jay smiled at your words, keeping his eyes on the road. “Promise.”
When you arrived back home, Jay excused himself to go shower first while you checked your kitchen cabinets to decide on a hot beverage for the night. Your TV was already showing Netflix, and it had become almost a tradition for you and Jay to watch one movie before you go to sleep on Saturday nights, that was if you were not staying at his parents’ house, of course.
You decided on chamomile tea, and by the time you brought the two mugs to the coffee table, Jay walked out to the living room with a towel around his neck and a bottle of micellar water and a pack of cotton pads in his hands. You looked up at him in question, as you were seated on the floor, and he calmly put the stuff right next to you on the table before making himself comfortable on the sofa.
“So you can take your makeup off here instead of the bedroom,” he said, not waiting for you to actually question him.
Your heart did a flip at the simple gesture, so you got up on your knees and shuffled towards him, pouting your lips so he could kiss them. He did, and as you turned back around he slapped your ass playfully.
“I’ve noticed that you’ve been slapping my ass quite often,” you commented, taking a cotton pad and drenching it with micellar water. “Do you like it that much?”
“Can’t really blame me. You’ve got a cute ass,” Jay shrugged, reaching for the remote.
You snorted as you started removing your makeup. “You can do it more.”
“Really?” Jay froze with the remote in his hands. “You mean like in bed too?”
You found it amusing that he became so intrigued at the idea of spanking you. You chuckled to yourself and quickly finished cleaning your face so you could join Jay on the sofa. You snuggled into him and as you predicted, he put an arm around you before resting his palm on your ass.
“Depending on the mood,” you said, looking up to him and placing your hand on his cheek. “You can spank me.”
“Yes,” Jay cheered, emphasizing the S as he leaned in to kiss you, squeezing your ass and making you chuckle into his mouth. After a short game of tug-of-war with your tongues, you rest your head on Jay’s lap and lied sideways facing the TV, telling him to start the movie that you already picked.
---
“Where is it again?”
You looked at Jay through your vanity mirror as you were clearing the table and rearranging your skincare products. He was putting on a shirt and as he popped his head out from the collar he turned to look at you while brushing his hair back.
“At this café at a mall. I forgot but I’ll text you the address later.” Jay grabbed the jacket that he hung behind the door and spritzed his perfume on it.
“How long do you think you’re going to be there?” You asked again, this time not looking at him as you were focused on putting your perfume collection in order of most used to least used.
Jay looked up at the ceiling to think for a split second before replying. “I’m not sure, babe. Maybe two hours tops? I’m pretty sure I’ll just be talking to my inner circle.”
“Did Heeseung go to the same high school as you?” You turned your Diptyque bottle to make it face the front, and then you turned around to face Jay, bringing your legs up to the ottoman you were sitting on.
Jay shook his head. “I met him in college,” Jay said as he put on his jacket and walked towards you. You looked up at him and he leaned in to give you a peck on your cheek. “I’ll keep you updated. Don’t mute your phone.”
He knew that your phone was almost always on mute, and it made you miss a couple of texts from him before. You chuckled and just nodded at him. “Have fun at the reunion,” you said, pulling him in for a hug and resting your cheek on his stomach.
Jay smiled and stroked your hair for a while before pulling away, not forgetting to blow you a kiss once he left the bedroom. You sighed and decided to walk over to your desk outside to do some work in advance before Monday comes.
You played your most upbeat playlist and ended up lip syncing and just swaying to all the songs most of the time, only managing to do a tiny bit of work. The whole time you were also texting Isa and Yoon in your group chat since they happened to be online at the same time. You then realized you had an unread text from Jay, and it was the location of his high school reunion.
It had been almost three hours since he left, and when you glanced outside the window you noticed that the sun was almost setting. You were sure their activity was just late lunch, but you did not know how many people came or how long they were actually going to hang out. You let Jay know that you were going to go see him there, claiming that you had to get something at the mall too.
Just as you arrived at the mall, dropped off by Heeseung, your phone vibrated and you saw that Jay texted you that the party had moved to a different café but still at the same mall. You paused in your tracks and quickly searched for the café location on your phone. At the same time, Jay spotted you from a distance, and he sent you another text as he smiled, keeping his eyes on you.
“Is that her?”
Jay looked at the girl who sat beside him, Lucy, who was eyeing him and his phone the whole time. He shifted in his seat before he nodded, and he caught the glint of disapproval in her eyes.
“Guys,” she said, flipping her hair back to look at the rest of the group. “Jay’s auntie is here to pick him up.”
Some of the people laughed, while Jay’s inner circle looked at him warily from across the table. Jay scoffed and shook his head, knowing that Lucy was just saying that as a joke, but he decided that it would be better for him to go see you, instead of inviting you to the lion’s den.
“I’ll be right back,” Jay said, mainly to his three friends in front of him, before he stood up and walked out of the café.
You still had your nose buried in your phone when you heard Jay call your name. He came running to you and immediately pulling you into a hug, and you were just confused because he was acting like he hadn’t seen you for days.
“Dammit, I swore I was about to locate the café,” you murmured into his shoulders before melting into his embrace and hugging him back. “What is going on?”
“Nothing,” Jay reassured you, rubbing your back before pulling away from the hug. “Give me two minutes and I’ll be with you.”
“I thought you’re still catching up with your friends? It’s fine, I can walk around,” you peered over his shoulder and saw that a couple of people from inside the café were looking at your direction.
Jay moved to shield you from their stares and gave you a warm smile. “I’ve talked with them enough. I’d rather keep you company now. Two minutes, okay? Don’t go anywhere.”
You nodded and watched as Jay basically sprinted back into the café. You decided to turn your back on them and just mindlessly scroll on your phone, waiting for him to come back. It didn’t even take him two minutes to find his place beside you, putting an arm around your waist and kissing the top of your head. You were genuinely curious about the sudden display of affection, but you decided to just ask about it at home.
---
You changed out of your outfit into a comfy lacy bra and pajama shorts, and you used a dainty kimono as a cover up since it was a little chilly. Jay was seated on the sofa with his white shirt and grey joggers, replying to a couple of messages on his phone.
“Anything interesting happened at the reunion?” You asked as you grabbed a bottle of vitamin water from the fridge.
“No, it was just a bunch of reminiscing old memories. Like talking about our teachers and stuff,” Jay replied. He continued to scroll on his phone and did not budge when you sat beside him.
“I would love to say hi to your friends, you know,” you placed your drink on the coffee table before leaning back on the sofa. “Why do I feel like you didn’t want me there?”
You noticed that Jay stopped scrolling and his thumb just hovered over the screen. You fixed your position and pulled both your legs up the sofa, and you made yourself face Jay, leaning your head sideways on the headrest.
“Is there something you’re not telling me?” You asked again, this time with a voice so soft that you almost squeaked.
Jay instantly felt regret and put his phone away on the table. He shifted in his seat before facing you, taking one of your hands and just playing with your fingers as he spoke.
“I know I never ask about your exes, and that you only told me about them when it was relevant. I don’t know if you even want to know about my past, but I feel like I should be telling you anyway.”
You frowned as you stared at Jay, who was completely focusing his gaze on your hands and how his fingers were intertwined with them.
“Aside from catching up with my close friends, I feel like going to that reunion was a mistake. The rest of the kids are jerks anyways.”
You cleared your throat and straightened your position. “It sounds like you’re saying everything but nothing at the same time.”
Jay took a deep breath as he let go of your hands and buried his face in his palms. He then leaned back on the sofa and decided to stare at the ceiling as he continued to speak.
“I mentioned you to my friends, and everyone else were busy with their own conversations, so I really didn’t notice that Lucy was actually listening.”
You calmly listened, resting your head again on the sofa.
“Technically, she’s not my ex, but we were… something.”
And just like that, the image from hours ago became clear. Your mind rewound to when Jay shielded you from their view, and you did catch a glimpse of a girl who was looking at the both of you with the most bitter expression on her face.
“Like friends with benefits?” You decided to just shoot your question.
“No!” Jay almost jerked up in his seat. “No, nothing like that. It was just like a situationship, if that’s what people call it these days.”
You stretched your arm on the headrest, fingers almost grazing Jay’s ear. He tilted his head to look at you, and you tilted your chin to ask him to continue.
“She just made comments that I did not want anyone to hear. Especially not you.”
You scoffed and gently flicked Jay’s ear. He flinched in response. “You think I can’t handle a hate comment?”
Jay looked into your eyes and saw that you were practically angry at this point, and that if he refused to tell you everything, he knew the conversation would end badly.
“Well?” You asked, challenging him.
“She mentioned your age and sort of mocked you, that’s all. That’s why I wanted to leave right away.”
At this comment, you let out a snicker before you moved to stand up. Jay’s eyes followed your movements, and in an instant he already looked worried.
“Baby?” Jay sat up, watching as you made your way to the kitchen.
“I mean if she’s speaking the truth, can you really blame her?” You retorted. You started checking the drawers for nothing, just intentionally making noise. You didn’t know if it was the comment regarding your age, or that Jay had someone special you didn’t even know about that made you irritated. What you did know is that you wanted to be as far away as possible from him.
“Look,” Jay spoke as he walked towards you. “You wanted to know, so I…”
“How long was your relationship with her?”
“That’s irrelevant.”
“I want to know,” you said, leaning on the counter and putting your hands together, expecting an answer.
“Just over a year, I think,” Jay replied as he decided to sit on the stool across you.
“And it didn’t work out because?” You continued to press on him and disregarded the way your brain was telling you to stop the questioning right then and there before it turned into a bigger argument.
“We wanted different things,” Jay answered. “Y/N,” he called on you before you could ask another question. “If this is bothering you I’d rather not continue.”
“Okay,” you smiled, walking past him and heading right into your bedroom.
From your tone, Jay knew that your okay did not mean okay at all. He sighed and brushed his hair back before following you, and when he entered the bedroom you were already lounging on the bed, with a book that you were half-done reading in your hands.
“It’s killing me that you’re acting this way, and I know you don’t like it when I ask questions, but I really need to know,” Jay said, frustrated. He was leaning on the door with a hand in his pocket. “What’s bothering you? Do you want me to tell you everything about high school? Everything I did with her?”
His last question was definitely a mistake, and he knew it the moment it left his mouth. Jay shuffled to your side of the bed and kneeled down beside you, carefully taking the book out of your hands.
“Please,” he begged. “Talk to me.”
“I don’t know, Jay,” you replied with the strongest voice you could muster. You didn’t even realize that you were already choking back tears. “Sometimes I just wonder why you’re with me when you could really be dating someone your age.”
“Are you kidding?” Jay stood up before sitting on the edge of the bed. “Our age gap has never been a problem for me.”
“That’s the thing,” you said, avoiding eye contact. “It is for me sometimes.”
Jay stared at you for a couple of seconds that felt like an eternity for you, and you realized that he was probably searching for the right words to say. He moved closer to you and took your hand, bringing it up to his lips for him to kiss.
“I’m sorry that I never considered it from your side,” he whispered. “But believe me, Y/N, I’ve never felt anything like this before. I don’t just love you, I’m in love with you. I can’t stand being apart from you for too long. I just want to do everything with you. Every little thing reminds me of you.”
You felt a lump on your chest, and you were sure it was because you were overwhelmed. You wanted to return everything Jay said to you because you felt the exact same way, but words weren’t coming out of your mouth. All you could do was let out a shaky breath when Jay scooted even closer to you, hands moving up to cup your face.
“I’ve never brought up stuff about my past because I do not want to even think about it. I just want to focus on the present and the future. And my future is you.”
You failed to hold in the tears you were choking back, so you looked down as they fell to your hands. Jay pulled you into his arms, wrapping you with his warmth as you sobbed into his shoulder. Your hand clenched his shirt and he began stroking your hair gently, shushing you and whispering comforting words in your ear.
Once you stopped sobbing, Jay pulled away to look at your face. He wiped the remaining tears from your cheeks before leaning in to kiss you. You sighed into the kiss, and he didn’t mind the salty aftertaste that lingered on your lips.
“So you don’t have any other exes?” You asked in between sniffles.
Jay chuckled. “Baby, I thought we were over this.”
You punched his shoulder lightly. “Just answer me.”
“I don’t,” Jay said, kissing your cheek.
“Then how do you explain this?” You asked, caressing his cheek and staring into his eyes.
Jay frowned. “What do you mean ‘this’?”
“The way you’re treating me.” You rubbed your thumb across his cheek and he nuzzled into your touch. “And the sex.”
Jay couldn’t help but burst out laughing at your last remark. You pouted as you were sure you asked a serious question.
“For the first part, you can say my parents raised me well,” Jay explained. He put his finger under your chin and tilted your head up. “And for the second part, I just watched a lot of porn and romance movies, to be honest.”
“Pervert,” you commented, earning another hearty laugh from him.
“But you’re reaping the benefits, right?” Jay kissed your nose playfully and you just shook your head in pretentious disgust. “And what about you? Where did you learn how to make those beautiful moans? You drive me crazy when you moan.”
“I read a lot of smut,” you said, matter-of-factly.
“Pervert,” he returned your comment before attacking your neck with kisses. You squealed and fell lying down on the bed, completely accepting the fact that Jay was now attacking you with no signs of backing down.
---
It was basketball night for Jay and his mates, and for tonight you decided to stay at home to catch up on the work you still had because you left the office early. You knew you were going to have a packed Friday the next day, so you decided to go for peace and quiet at the comfort of your own home.
As soon as you got home, you showered and changed into more comfortable clothes. Your dark green kimono outer paired with the black lacey top and shorts as a set was your current favorite. To lift your mood even more, you put on the new perfume that one of your friends bought for you from Paris.
Once you made yourself a cup of hot silver needle tea, you cozied up on your sofa, placing your laptop on top of the cushion on your lap and started typing away. You played Christmas jazz instrumentals on your phone and let it connect to the Bluetooth speaker, so as the setting sun casted an orange shade in your living room, the calming music also made you more focused on your work.
You decided to just wait up for Jay to have dinner since he was going to be home soon and you weren’t feeling that hungry either. You finished your cup of tea, and after checking a couple of notifications on your phone, you continued to work on your laptop, changing your positions once in a while so you would not strain your legs. After a while, you heard the lock beep and as Jay entered, you shouted out to him.
“Welcome home, baby,” you said without taking your eyes off your screen. You turned the music off before you continued to type until you felt a shadow hovering over you. When you looked up, Jay was looking at you with an unhappy face.
“It’s almost 9, why are you still working?” He asked, pulling the strap of his duffel bag off his shoulder.
“I left early today and I wanted to get ahead of tomorrow,” you explained. Your hands paused over your keyboards and Jay immediately took one of them, kissing the back of your hand.
“I’m gonna go shower, and if you’re still working by the time I’m done, I’m gonna get mad,” Jay said. He leaned in to kiss the top of your head before disappearing. You just smiled and continued to work.
You swore only five minutes had passed before Jay returned to the living room, with a towel over his head and his favorite sleeveless black tee paired with his black shorts. He smelled like your soap and shampoo, and you like how it mixed with his own scent. Before you could say anything to greet him back, he yanked your laptop away from you and carefully placed it on the coffee table.
“Jay,” you muttered out of surprise. “I wasn’t done typing.”
Jay pouted as he walked in front of you, threw himself on the sofa beside you, and lied down while placing his head on your lap.
“Your hands can continue to be occupied,” Jay said, his hot breath tickling your thighs. “Please stroke my hair.”
You chuckled but did as he said. You brought up the towel and started rubbing it gently over his hair to dry it better. Jay closed his eyes, feeling content as he faced the TV. Once you were done, you pulled the towel away and set it on the armrest.
Jay shifted in his position and turned around, facing your stomach. He scooted closer and playfully pulled your top up before leaning in and just hiding under your top. He then kissed your belly button and you shook your head laughing. He began blowing raspberries on your stomach and you pinched his arm to make him stop.
“It tickles!” You said when he uncovered his face to give you a look of protest.
He reached out his hand and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear before caressing your cheek. You leaned in to kiss his forehead and he closed his eyes. When you pulled back, he frowned and started sniffing the air.
“Do I smell a new perfume?” Jay asked, opening his eyes completely and looking at you. “It is new, isn’t it?”
You nodded. “It’s a solid perfume that I’ve never tried before. I put it under my ears only. Do you like it?”
Jay groaned in an effort to lift himself off your lap. He sat sideways, an arm beside your thigh supporting his weight. He then nuzzled into your neck and took a quick sniff.
“I like it,” he said, sniffing again. “It’s fresh and subtle.”
He moved to sniff your right side and you just laughed softly, craning your neck.
“It’s so good?” He declared, sounding more like a question. Once he was done sniffing you he kissed your jawline.
“I’ve read that solid perfumes are meant to be sniffed only when you get closer to the person wearing it.”
“That’s sexy,” Jay commented. You just raised your eyebrows and nodded. “You’re sexy.”
You snorted at the sudden compliment, and Jay was just looking at you as he bit his lower lip. He placed his fingers under your chin and kissed you again, deeper this time, making a point that he wanted you. You grabbed him by the neck and pulled him closer, returning the gesture. Eventually, Jay’s arm gave out and he fell on your lap again after a hot minute of just kissing you.
He didn’t want to stop there, so he leaned into your stomach again and started peppering your belly with kisses. You smiled and brushed his hair back, observing him with adoring eyes. His hand made its way to your breasts, and the moment he started massaging your tits it became harder for you to control your sounds.
You brought your feet up to the coffee table, making your thighs tilt and giving Jay enough elevation for his mouth to reach your breasts. He began sucking on your tit, and squeezing the other with his hand. Your breath had become shaky at this point, and you desperately reached down his body to find something to touch.
Lucky for you, and for him, he was already hard. As he continued to suck on your boob, you began palming his crotch, gently rubbing your hands on his clothed erection. He groaned and almost grazed his teeth on your nipple before pulling away to look up at you.
“Can you take your top off for me?” He asked softly, his eyes almost sparkling.
“Only if you get naked for me too,” you said, smiling.
Jay sat up and ditched his t-shirt and shorts in an instant, and you were still in the middle of pulling your lacey top off when he settled himself on your lap again.
“But wear the kimono again,” he requested. “It’s a great color on you.”
“Very well, my prince.” You squished his cheeks together before pulling him for a kiss. Once you donned the kimono again, Jay smiled so widely before licking his lips.
You returned your attention to his throbbing dick in your hand while you let him suck on your tits again. You could see the precum on his tip as you carefully slid your fingers up and down his shaft. Jay began moaning, keeping his mouth latched onto your nipple. Every time your hand squeezed harder, he sucked harder, and the way he looked on your lap just made you fall in love with him all over again.
You can tell from his erection that this simple action was turning him on a lot, so you began stroking his hair and whispering comforting words to him. At one point, he opened his eyes and looked up at you, mouth still full with your boob, and you froze the image in your mind, wanting to remember it forever.
“My sweet prince,” you whispered, letting your hand do its job by spreading his precum all the way down to the base of his cock. He whimpered and bucked his hips up, trying to fuck your hand.
He pulled away from you and you saw a string of his saliva still connected to your breasts. “I’m close,” he announced, and when he looked at you, you nodded.
You pushed his head back into your breasts again and let him leave as many love bites as he wanted, all while your hand began pumping his cock faster. He began moaning louder and without further warning, he cummed all over his stomach. You saw the ropes of white staining his toned abs and you gently guided him as he rode out his high.
Jay began to catch his breath, and you brushed his hair back, chuckling as you saw a bead of sweat trickling down. You kissed his forehead and he reached up to your arm, rubbing his hand up and down. The towel that you conveniently placed on the armrest proved to be useful, as you reached for it and cleaned up Jay in less than thirty seconds.
“Are you still on your period?” Jay asked. The question almost caught you off guard. You folded the towel neatly before putting it away.
“No, it ended two days ago.”
“You made me wait for sex for two days?!” Jay spat. You threw your head back laughing before looking back at him again. “Get naked, now,” he demanded.
“Oh my God, Jay,” you placed your hand flat on his abs before poking him there with your pointy finger. He flinched on your lap. “You just had an orgasm.”
“And?” He asked, raising his eyebrow. “You say that like we’ve never gone for multiple rounds before.”
“I’m saying slow down,” you cooed, your hand caressing his face. “The night is still young.”
“Yeah, and I’m hungry,” Jay said, pouting.
You looked at the time and turned your head around to look at the kitchen. “I can cook you some ramen if you--”
“No, I want to eat you.”
When you stared back into his eyes you realized he was serious. He pouted and gave you his puppy eyes, and you just melted, pushing his face with your two hands and kissing his nose. “Okay,” you said, before tapping his shoulder so he could move away.
He began palming himself as he watched you pull your lacey shorts and your panties down in one go. You look at him and pinched the hem of your kimono. “On or off?”
“On,” Jay answered without missing a beat. You shook your head smiling. Jay then lied back on the sofa and you tilted your head.
“I thought you said you wanted to eat me out?” You asked, a puzzled look on your face.
Jay nodded. “Please place your pussy here,” he touched his lips, “and face that way,” he pointed to his legs.
“If you wanted 69 you could just say so,” you giggled, carefully throwing one leg over his head to get into position.
“Oh, my queen,” he sighed once his face came into contact with your core. “You should have told me you’re this wet.”
You had to admit that Jay sucking on your boobs while you jerked him off aroused you as much as it did him. But at this point, you realized that sometimes words can be set aside and you could let your body speak for itself.
The moment Jay licked a stripe down your folds, you jerked forward from the sudden warmth. You began stroking his dick, which was almost hard again. You took him in your mouth and started to mimic his ministrations on your cunt. When he licked a stripe along your folds, you licked a stripe along his shaft. When he sucked your clit, you sucked his tip. At one point he chuckled into you, noticing what you were doing, and the vibration you felt almost sent you into overdrive.
You moaned when you felt his tongue enter you, and since you had his dick in your mouth you almost choked. You were determined to take all of him and to return every single loving gesture he was making, but it was getting harder with every minute. You jerked your hips away from his lips, but it only made him pull you down harder, his two hands resting comfortably on your ass cheeks.
The choking sound you unintentionally made drove him to dive into you deeper. His tongue ran down your folds before entering you completely, and you whimpered, mouth full with his cock and body shaking from the pleasure. You felt the familiar knot in your stomach and you had to let go of his dick in order to breathe. You kept jerking him off with your hands though, but now your moans were clearer to him, so he continued to eat you out until you came on his face.
Your legs were shaking but you kept yourself up, determined to help Jay reach his second high of the night. Breathing heavily, you were about to take his length into your mouth again, but his hands stopped you and he began to just guide your hand up and down his shaft until he came on himself again. You carefully dismounted and just sat on the floor, buck naked, leaning your head on the sofa and still having your palm wrapped around his dick.
Jay looked at you with a regretful look on his face. “Babe,” he said, licking his lips and tasting your juice. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” you nodded weakly, moving your hand to intertwine your fingers with his. You then sat up to get on your knees, and grabbing the same towel you used earlier, but with a different surface, you began wiping his mouth and chin.
“Babe,” Jay chuckled, stopping you by grabbing your wrist. “Your legs were shaking so much, I can’t believe you’re cleaning me up, right now.”
You shook your head. “Remember when you said that it’s your responsibility to clean up this place since this is your home now? Well, you’re my home, so it makes sense for me to clean you up.”
Jay laughed softly before taking the towel away, and he swiftly wiped away the cum from his stomach. He then pulled you towards him, moving back so there was enough space for you to lie down on the sofa. You did, and immediately turned to face him, nuzzling his neck.
“How was basketball night?” You asked, closing your eyes.
Jay snaked an arm around your waist and began rubbing your sides. “Uneventful. We placed a bet and I lost, again. I have to order late night snacks for them later.”
You giggled and tilted your head to kiss his chin. “Seems like you came home to a snack too.”
“Oh, I did.” Jay smiled. He pulled back a bit to look at you and found you beaming at him. “I got a whole meal.”
You pursed your lips and Jay chuckled before kissing you. He then pulled you closer into his embrace, rubbing your arms to keep you warm. The actual late-night snack can wait.

*written in Y/N's POV*
My eyes fluttered open and I was all sorts of disoriented. I woke up to the feeling of the sun on my face and my head pounding. The night before was a blur, but I was still sober enough to remember that I went home with Chris. Our legs were tangled underneath the blanket and my head was on his chest. I looked over at the sleeping man. His hair was a mess and his chest rose and fell peacefully as he slept. As attracted to him as I was, I knew that last night was temporary and I wanted to save myself from the embarrassment of having him watch me leave. I gently released myself from his grasp and put my clothes back on. They were scattered throughout the apartment, but once I had found everything, I wrote a note on the back of a receipt I found in my purse.
"Thank you for last night, Mr. Bang"
I left the apartment quietly and called an Uber outside. The Uber arrived fairly quickly and took me back to mine and Wonyoung's shared apartment. The driver would look at me through the window, clearly knowing that this was my sad attempt at a "walk of shame". I finally arrived back home, thanked the poor driver, and entered the complex. When I opened the door, Wonnie was sitting at our dinner table, sipping on a cup of coffee she had made and was scrolling through her phone.
"Ma'am you have some explaining to do! A. I am super glad you're home and alive and that that guy wasn't some weird serial killing murderer! B. Who was that?! And please tell me everything!" she yelled.
"Won. It is really really early and my head is pounding and I really want to shower." I complained. I was obviously still in the dress that I wore last night. My hair was greasy and I could only imagine how terrible I smelled. "Wait," I paused, "Why aren't you at the cafe right now?"
"Long story. Go shower and I'll explain." she said and I listened. I grabbed a clean towel and the comfiest sweats I owned and made my way to the bathroom. When I discarded my clothes, I got a good look at my body in the mirror. There were marks along my neck, hickies that were left by Chris, that scattered their way to my shoulders. I was insanely embarrassed, but when I touched them softly, I was reminded of the previous evening. The way he would mutter, 'mine' in between the kisses he would leave on my neck, or the way he would grip my hips as he fucked into me slowly, or the fact that he wouldn't finish until I had already came twice. Then I remembered that these were indeed huge bruises sprinkled all over my body and I would have to wait for them to fade. No wonder the Uber driver was looking at me with so much concern. I stepped into the shower and let the hot water soothe me. I let myself take an unusually long shower this time, seeing as I felt like I needed and deserved it.
When I finished with my shower, I threw on the sweats, brushed out my hair and rejoined Wonnie. This time she was on the couch, a blanket wrapped around her legs, watching a show she had been raving about.
"So why aren't you at work right now?" I asked as she paused the show. I remembered that the reason I tried to leave before meeting Chris was because I was worried that Wonyoung would've been too hungover to work today.
"Okay! So you know Heeseung from Chill right?" she started. I nodded knowing exactly where this was going. Chill was the coffee place that she worked at. I would occasionally pick up shifts there if they needed help, but I wasn't a regular barista. Heeseung worked with Wonyoung at Chill. I could already smell a coworkers to lovers trope coming on. "Basically, while you and whoever-that-was were getting handsy with each other on the dance floor, Heeseung and I started making small talk and he's actually really funny," she giggled.
"This is all really cute, but that still doesn't explain how you-" I said and she cut me off.
"Shhh! I'm getting there! Anyway, at some point I looked at the time, and I realized that I had forgotten about my shift this morning, so I started panicking. Heeseung said he would cover it for me if I agreed to meet him afterward for dinner," she said the last part giddily and covered her face with one of our couch pillows.
"Wonnie!!" I whined in response, "You're going on a date tonight?".
"I guess I am," she replied, "But enough about me! I need every excruciating detail about last night!".
"There's not really much to say, but I guess I'll start at the club."
*written in Chris' POV*
I opened my eyes and found myself in Jisung's bedroom, alone. I dragged myself out of bed and into their medicine cabinet where I knew they kept some pain killers. My head was pounding and I felt like utter shit. I walked into the living room to retrieve my scattered clothes on the ground and put them on. I looked over at the coffee table and there was note written there.
"Thank you for last night, Mr. Bang"
I smiled at the note and remembered my evening with Y/N. It was definitely a night to be remembered for a while. She was so carefree and full of light. The way her body molded to mine as we had sex, the way she smelled, the sounds she would make. It was all so desirable, and yet there was no phone number left. No trace of her anywhere. It was clear that the previous night was a one night stand and I would only be lucky enough to run into her again.
My phone began to ring from the bedroom and I hurriedly walked over to pick it up. It was Changbin. Then, I remembered that they were watching my son and they were probably panicking. I picked up the phone.
"Chris! Oh thank God you're awake!" I heard Ji yell from the other side of the phone. I could hear Leo crying.
"Hey guys! I'm so sorry. I'm on my way home now," I began.
"No need to apologize! Mission accomplished?" Changbin asked.
"Yes Changbin. The mission was accomplished. I'll be home soon!" I said.
"Great! Cause we've been trying to feed Leo for the last 30 minutes and he will not eat anything! He's getting really angry please hurry!" Changbin yelled in a panic.
"He's very picky. There's some frozen waffles in the freezer. Pop them in the toaster, he loves them. There's also some apple sauce packets in the fridge. He really likes those too," I gave them advice so that Leo could be fed before I got there. I grabbed my wallet from the side table and called an Uber back to my own apartment. When I got home, Leo was sitting in his highchair, enjoying the breakfast I recommended to the boys. They had made themselves some breakfast as well. "Hey guys," I announced as I walked over to the table, "Do you guys mind watching him for like 20 more minutes? I just need to shower really quick."
"For sure! Leo's almost done though and I'm scared," Jisung responded jokingly. I nodded and made my way to the shower. I washed up quickly, throwing on a pair of shorts and black t-shirt. I had no intentions of going out today, so I threw on a black baseball cap and headed back to the kitchen area. Leo was no longer eating, just playing with his food. I took him out of his highchair.
"Were you a good boy for Uncle Jisung and Uncle Changbin?" I asked my toddler.
"Yes daddy!" he responded with a smile. I giggled and put him in the bath. I got him all clean and looked at the time. It was around 11:30am which is when he usually took his afternoon nap. He was already probably exhausted from the breakfast tantrum so I put him to sleep. Once he was down for his nap, I rejoined my friends who were still sitting in the living room.
"So lover boy, how was your night?" Changbin was the first to break the silence. I was usually pretty private with my dating life, even if they were my best mates. It just felt kind of odd to disclose something that intimate, but considering that it happened in their apartment, they probably needed to know what went down.
"It was honestly... really really good," I responded with a smile.
"Good! So you gonna take her out?" Jisung asked.
"I.. uh.. actually didn't get her phone number," I responded, scratching the back of my neck anxiously.
"What?!" they both yelled in shock. "Dude, you looked like you were about ready to run away together last night! What happened?" Changbin continued.
"Well, we obviously went back to your apartment. Thanks by the way," I thanked and Ji nodded, "Everything went great last night. She was great. She went home. I went home. That's it."
"But you guys had sex right?" Jisung asked. I nodded sheepishly. "Great! Who's room?" He asked with a serious face. I didn't say anything except I looked over at Jisung.
"Ugh dammit!" "HAHAHA!" I heard them both say. "How did I lose $100 and had someone else fuck in my bed?" Jisung yelled loudly. I hushed them both trying to stifle my own giggles, afraid that our boisterous laughter would wake up my son. This had been the second bet I had caught them making about my sex life, and honestly, it was kinda comical. "Listen, I'm very glad you finally fucking got laid, but I'm burning those sheets as soon as I get home," he said in a hushed tone, still laughing. They eventually left, and I joined Leo in my room for a quick nap.
TIME JUMP TO THE START OF Y/N'S SENIOR YEAR OF UNIVERSITY
*written in Y/N's POV*
The start of my last year in college had finally come and I couldn't have been more excited. Over the summer, my confidence definitely grew and I think it was all thanks to the night that Wonnie took me to Venom. I was now officially working Chill, thanks to Wonyoung literally begging me.
This was it. All of the hard work I had put into the last four years of schooling was almost worth it. I looked at my schedule once more and saw that Mondays and Wednesdays consisted of a ENG 328, which was literary journalism, and ENG 335, freelance writing. ENG 328 was taught by a professor named Mr. Kim. He was a fairly easy-going professor who was constantly cracking jokes with us and often spoke in a sarcastic tone. My freelance writing class was taught by Mr. Yang. Similar to Mr. Kim, he was also pretty laid back. They were both fairly young to be college professors, but it made them more relatable. Both classes consisted of going over the syllabus and their own personal standards in class on the first day, typical first week of the semester behavior. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I only had one class, ENG 333, which was designed to help me build by creative writing portfolio. This class, I was looking forward to. Wonyoung and I both needed this class to complete all of the credits we needed to graduate, so we decided to take the class together.
I found the classroom, which happened to be on the second floor of the campus, and walked into the room out of breath. I hated walking up those damn stairs. When I got to the classroom, there were only a few more seats left, but I spotted Wonyoung sitting in the second row somewhere in the middle. She put her backpack in the seat next to her to save it for me. I walked over to the desk and sat down.
"Y/N! Oh thank God you're here," she greeted me as I took my seat.
"Sorry. I got lost," I giggled back at her. "Where's the professor?"
"Late I assume-" she responded. Just then, a man walked in with sunglasses on and a book bag slung over his shoulder. With the sunglasses on, he seemed so familiar, but I couldn't pin point exactly why I felt that way. I looked down to take my notebook out to write down everything he would tell us about the semester. I felt Wonyoung tap on my shoulder, but I ignored her. "Y/N.. you're about to fucking shit yourself," Wonnie whispered over to me. When I looked up, the man had taken off his coat and sunglasses leaving him in a white turtleneck and dark brown slacks. I immediately understood why he felt so familiar and why Wonnie thought I was going to shit myself.
"My apologies to you all for being late. My name is Mr. Bang and I am your creative writing portfolio professor," he announced to the class while his eyes scanned the room. We made eye contact for a brief second and I could see the panic in his eyes. I was absolutely frozen in my seat and I had to look down at my notebook to keep myself from panicking as well. "Ehem," he cleared his throat and continued, "In this class, we will be preparing you for-" and by that point I had drowned out everything he was saying. I heard some snickers from other students about his name, not in a 'haha his last name is Bang' kinda way, but in a 'Mr. Bang is hot as fuck and I wish he'd bang me' kinda way. I felt the air get cold as I heard what they were saying. "Before I begin, I will be taking attendance, so when I say your name, please say, 'here.'"
One by one he called the names of all of the students in the class and finally it was my turn, "Y/N Y/LN?" he looked directly at me without having to scan the room. I was the only Y/N in the class, so he really didn't have to guess that hard. We made eye contact, again, and I announced that I was present. He didn't smile. No gesture that he even recognized me, but by the look of initial shock when our eyes first met, I knew that he did. "Great!" Chris said breaking eye contact with me and continued on with the rest of the class. He told us that our first one-on-one portfolio evaluations would be in two weeks and that the first day to schedule an appointment to meet with him individually would begin after class. Immediately I started to think of excuses as to why I couldn't meet with him. I thought that maybe switching classes altogether would've been easier than enduring a whole semester with this visceral tension.
When our class was over, Wonyoung and I started packing our things as other students rushed over to Chris' desk to sign up for individual sessions. Some of the other individuals in class were a little too attracted to our professor, purposefully batting their lashes when he talked to them, or giggling a little too loudly around him. It wasn't jealousy I was feeling, but more annoyance. The last semester of my senior year was supposed to be perfect. Once I was done packing and most of the students had cleared out of the room, I walked over to the sign-up sheet sitting on his desk. I looked at all of the times available and it only seemed to be the very last slots of the day that were free. 'Perfect,' I thought to myself, 'How cliche!". I signed up for the slot for this Friday night. I felt confident enough in my portfolio that I didn't feel like I needed to tweak it all that much.
"Funny seeing you hear Ms. Y/LN..." Chris said only loudly enough for me to hear.
"Hello Mr. Bang," I said in a professional tone as I looked up at him. His gaze was so much more intense in this setting. He was almost a little too intimidating. He took a step closer to me, still far enough to maintain an inconspicuous distance, but he was definitely closer.
"You know? The last time you referred to me as Mr. Bang, it was on a piece of paper that you left before you fled away from the apartment," he said quietly, again. If anyone was looking over at us, they would think that this was just an innocent conversation between and professor and his student, but he was referring to something much much more personal.
"I believe that the note was meant to thank you, not offend you, sir," I said matching his volume, a slight bite in my tone. "Thank you for class," I said with a smile, "See you on Thursday." I walked away from his desk, meeting Wonnie outside and I could feel him staring at me as I left.
We walked back to the apartment not speaking to each other at all, afraid that someone may be able to hear our conversation. When we got there, Won was the first to break the silence. "HOLY SHIT DUDE! Are you okay?" she asked the minute we got inside, away from anyone that could possibly hear us.
"I really don't know. I feel like I haven't stopped shaking," and it was true. My palms were sweaty and I got the chills every time I thought about the last encounter I had with Chris before today.
"Well I mean! You kinda fucked our professor. Well, you know, you didn't know he was our professor at the time, but still you like fully slept with him!" Wonyoung yelled as she made her way to the kitchen. I threw myself on the couch and covered my face with a pillow. "Did he tell you that he worked at the school?" she asked.
"NO! We didn't talk about our private lives at all! Except that he told me he was starting a new job and that that was the reason why he moved here, but fuck I didn't know the job was gonna be here!" I yelled back. I pulled myself off of the couch and walked over to meet Wonyoung in the kitchen. "Won, what the fuck am I gonna do?" I asked as I grabbed myself a glass of water.
"Suck it up and stay professional? It was a one night stand. You're so close to graduating, Y/NN. You can stick it out for one more semester," she reassured me.
She was right, and that was exactly what I was gonna do. One semester wouldn't be that bad. Right?

As the next morning came I tried to stay in my bed for as long as I could. My eyes eventually fluttered open, my bones felt weary, throat dry and parched.
I wasn’t so sure I wanted to get out of my bed. Not after everything I experienced yesterday. Thinking of all I have to face it made me stuck to my bed.
It’s still hard for me to digest everything. How am I supposed to live knowing what’s truly out there? What type of life awaits me for me?
Vampires are real and one had attacked me. Until Paul Lahote, a man I barely know, was the one to rescue me. All in the form of this huge vicious grey wolf.
Learning about Paul’s true nature, including the others, about how they’re all ‘shifters’. It all made me feel crazy. I wasn’t sure how to react to their explanation. What made me feel crazy was that I somehow understood everything.
Living with my grandparents in the summer and visits in between I learned a lot. Many stories live in my head because of me simply listening to my grandfather.
He wasn’t the type to sit us kids down. Just a few times in the winter for story time if we were lucky. Other than that you’d have to catch him at the right moment.
He’d tell them randomly, while we drank tea, or went for a car drive, even just sitting quiet at home. It all depended on what mood my grandfather was in.
I always believed him even when his stories seemed ridiculous. Our people, indigenous people as a whole, we have certain ways.
Somethings that are even mysterious to us. Stories of folk tales and local creatures were common to hear and know about.
It’s a totally different experiencing said stories in real life. It was easier to think of them as just stories. But now I know that there is truth to such stories. It all made life feel surreal for me.
Eventually I crawled out of bed once the questions in my head started to eat me up. I needed answers, explanations, anything to help me understand. I knew there was only one person that could help me.
My grandmother was up and waiting for me downstairs. I could sense her as I got my self ready. The air was filled with tension and uneasiness.
“My girl” She exclaimed as I came down the stairs. I gave a weak smile before we headed to the couch. Sitting down beside her she squeezed my hand comforting me.
“How did you rest? Are you feeling okay?” My grandmother fussed over me as she brushed the hair away from my face. I smiled and cupped her hand softly.
“I rested well enough. How are you holding up?”
“Oh my girl… I couldn’t help but worry over you. I know you must be going through a lot right now… Thinking a lot… Here have something to eat first. Get your strength back”
With the food ready she and I ate our breakfast. I somehow felt at peace once we began to eat in silence. For this brief moment it felt as if nothing had changed. All I focused on was my grandmother and this moment. Bracing myself for what I know I have to face eventually.
Once we had finished and cleaned up we sat back onto the couch. My grandmother had stepped into her room. Before she came back out carrying a small cedar box.
“What is that?” I asked once she sat down with me. She smiled at me softly before she opened the box. It had initials and some florals carved into the box. Once opened there were small carved trinkets and pictures.
“Your grandfather made me this box. Originally it was meant for jewellery. When he’d go hunting he’d carve me pieces of jewellery made from antlers and bone. Necklaces, rings, earrings, all hand made by him. Little tokens of love and affection. He carved this box for me to keep everything in it. Over the years I kept our memories together in this box”
She skimmed through her stacks of pictures. Old pictures of her and my grandfather as a young couple. Their friends and events they attended. She pulled out a set of pictures for me to look at.
“This was around the time your grandfather shifted. He had just turned 17 before a stray vampire began to lurk around the reserve. It made him and his fellow pack members shift. All of them were only 16-18 at the time”
“Pack members?”
“…What exactly did Sam and his friends tell you?”
She paused to look at me after questioning me. I stopped looking at the pictures to focus. Trying to remember what I was told.
“Well… I know everyone besides Kim and Emily is a wolf. I—I mean shifter, that they take on their spiritual forms, which is the shape of the wolf… right?”
“Yes they’re called shifters. For you to understand I need to explain some things”
My grandmother looked at me eager to know my decision. I could see she was nervous as I was. But I trusted her to know that she’ll be honest and explain everything I don’t understand. I nodded my head in agreement before she started.
“Long ago Taha Aki and our ancestors were blessed with their nature from our relatives the wolves. Fierce spiritual warriors stronger than any force. As a means to protect and guide our tribe. Only certain men in the tribe are blessed with this gift. It’s a lifestyle few can walk”
She handed me a picture of a huge dark grey wolf. Almost as if his fur was black on the top. Looking at the handwriting on the photo inscribed was my grandfathers name.
“They had dealt with the colonizers easily enough. It’s why despite our small tribe we always kept our territory despite many enemy attempts to take it. When our people first came across the cold blooded vampires it changed everything. We had never come across such a threat. Whole villages would be slaughtered in a matter of a few hours at the hands of a few vampires. They looked human but quickly our shifters knew they were unnatural”
I felt my own blood run cold. Terrified at the thought of vampires. My throat felt as if it was slowly closing as I remembered Victoria. How fast she was and how close I was to death.
“When the first shifters killed them they ripped them to pieces. Our warriors decided to collect all the pieces to place together. To inspect and see the vampire up close. Everyone in the village had gathered to come take a look at the beast. It laid there stiff, it’s insides grey and solid, the skin reflected like gemstones. Everyone was amazed our warriors killed such a powerful creature. All until the limbs started to move, quickly the body squirmed to join back together, some pieces did and tried to fight back once more. Pale and cold because they’re undead, immortal, their bodies are made of stone”
I gasped shocked at what I was hearing. It made me think of how Victoria’s skin felt. Like cold sandpaper but solid and hard. There was no softness in her icy grip. Even when Paul bit down onto Victoria I could hear crumbling and cracking. I almost thought she was a porcelain doll with how awful the cracking sounded.
“Quickly the body was tossed and burnt in the fire. All until nothing but ash was left. Burning them is the only way to truly kill a vampire. Our shifters are the only force powerful enough to defeat them. This has been their duty for centuries. Our true protectors and guides of the Quileute tribe”
I sat quiet dumbfounded at what was being told to me. My grandmother just patiently waited and observed my reaction. My mouth was agape from shock and surprise. I wasn’t quite sure what to say but I knew I had questions
“Wow… I… I somehow understand… But I still have a few questions if that’s alright”
“I understand my girl. But you need to know what a heavy responsibility it is to be a shifter. It takes great discipline and dedication. It’s a delicate balance between spiritual and physical nature. If you aren’t balanced it can be volatile. It can be a difficult process harnessing their true nature. There are some aspects you can’t control”
“…Such as imprinting right?” I asked which made her whip her head at me taken aback. Even I sat up straight nervous. I could tell it caught her off guard as she coughed.
“Grandma … I don’t fully know what an imprint is. I didn’t get to fully ask either because I was too shocked and upset. I understand somewhat about how shifting works… All I know is this imprinting with Paul involves me. That’s what they told me from what I remember. I… I just don’t know how I fit into all this. I’m not a shifter or anything magical as far as I know. Or am I? Is this what you're struggling to tell me?”
“No no you’re not a shifter my girl” She said slightly giggling at me. At this point I had too many questions. But I really wanted to know what an imprint is. Since I know this connects me to Paul somehow. What role do I play in all of this? Grandma sighed before she recollected herself.
“Well… Even for me it’s difficult to explain. An imprint connection really depends on the people in the connection. You see when the colonizers came, they took almost everything from us, you know? Genocide, Residential schools, day school, all of it took a toll on our people. It was a struggle to even carry our traditions so most of our teachings about shifters, their nature, what we knew was lost. It’s been about 3 generations since your grandfathers time and since we last had shifters amongst us”
She explained as I sighed defeated. Slowly sinking into my seat. My grandmother rubbed my back in comfort. Before she started to explain once more.
“Over the years we’ve gathered what info we do know about shifters. Some of the teachings have been coming back. All we understand is it’s a lifelong bond. That only happens once a lifetime between a shifter and their imprint. It’s a strong spiritual bond that links two for life. Some even believe it lasts beyond life”
I sat silent for a moment to think. It made me rethink of Paul’s words before I left. His brief explanation to me of what an imprint is.
I remember the look on his face, a frown filled his face with eyes that were sad, one of the reasons I wanted to leave so quickly. I caused a lot of trouble for not only him but for everyone.
“... Y’know…That’s all Paul really said to me before I left… Now that I think about it. I didn’t really understand what he meant at the time. But he said that we— that I can choose what we mean? I’m guessing he meant this imprint connection”
She had grabbed my hand and held it close to her. I sat worried until she gave me a warm smile. There was a short pause before she sighed
“My girl… As much as I want to sit here and explain everything to you. I think it’s best you just talk to Paul”
I felt uncomfortable as soon as she suggested such. I didn’t quite know how to face Paul. I had hardly knew him before all of this. Now I’m suddenly inter-soul-twined with him? It didn’t help he was quite upset about all of this.
“Grandma—“
“Remember I’m an imprint myself. When your grandfather imprinted on me he made sure I understood right away. He just wouldn’t have it either way”
“You were also the one to say you and grandpa got married quickly. Is it because he imprinted on you that you guys got hitched?”
Her face had flushed red it was the first time I’ve ever seen her get flustered. I felt I should’ve bitten my tongue to stop myself. But it was too late the words were spoken.
“Y\n”
“I’m sorry! But I’m just worried. I still don’t fully understand what any of this imprint business has to do with me and Paul. Does this mean I have to get hitched with Paul right away? Like you and grandpa? Except I have to with some stranger I don’t know?—“
“—This is why I’m suggesting you talk to Paul. Imprint connections vary for me and your grandfather it was different. Yes we got married but it was because we loved and eventually understood one another. Not just because of this imprint connection. Y’know we have other imprints on the rez here. They’re great examples of how different imprints can be”
I only knew Sam and Emily were imprints so far. But them too are basically married, already engaged, despite being in their early 20’s. All I knew from Kim was they’ve been together for awhile. Leah didn’t really like Sam from what I understood.
“Like Sam and Emily? But they’re engaged as well”
“Yes but there are others. Quill has his own imprint also you know”
Hearing the words come out of my grandmothers mouth shocked me. This whole time I’ve been home Quill hadn’t bothered to bring up his imprint? Much less let me meet her?
“What? Quill?”
“Yes Quill has his own imprint. I bring it up because his relationship to her is different from that of Sam and Emily, and also me and your grandfathers. Claire young is her name, and she’s only 4, she’s the niece of your friend Emily” Hearing so surprised me and I could feel it express on my face. My grandmother scolded me as I felt myself cringe. I couldn’t help it since it shocked me to know this about Quill.
“They aren’t together y\n but they are imprints. Quill has since taken her in almost as his own daughter. With the approval of her parents of course. They know about all of this also. It was understood that the two needed to be together and Quill decided he would become whatever Claire needed. He’ll become a friend, a brother, a father, whatever Claire needs. For now he serves her as a older brother\father figure”
“… And you said before this is something sacred right?”
“Yes my girl and no one gets to choose their imprint. In the old days we understood imprinting and it’s nature to be more connected to the wolves. Rather than our human nature. It’s why our people never fully questioned it. Wolves bond for life it’s just in their nature. When our ancestors were blessed with the gift of shifting we understood imprinting was one of the gifts that came with it. Instead of questioning we adapted, it’s why it’s important for the imprints, to define the connection between them. Otherwise your connection can falter and be fatal”
“Wait—fatal?” Before she could answer me someone had knocked on the door just then. Interrupting and startling the two of us. Both of us were heavily into our conversation we hardly realized someone was here.
Tumblr media
I got up and walked to the door quickly. Opening the door there stood Quill. A solemn look to his face. I was surprised to see him standing here. Usually he texts or calls me to make sure I’m home.
“Hey Y\N”
“Hey…”
“Is that Quill?” Our grandmother asked me, I stood aside to let him in, stepping in he greeted her. She rose from where she sat and came over to us. I wasn’t quite sure how to react to Quill’s sudden appearance.
“I’m glad you stopped by so soon Quill to check on y/n. Me and y\n were just finished visiting. I’m sure you and her have a lot to talk about. So I’ll leave you two as I’ll be heading over to Sue Clearwater’s… I need to thank her for helping you last night”
“Oh— Grandma I’ll come with you I want to thank her too” I said trying to grab my shoes to leave. She shook her head and held my hands. Stopping me from grabbing them.
“My girl it’s okay you stay here and visit with Quill. Let your cousin explain what I can’t. You need all the help you can get”
She assured me, eventually she made her exit, leaving me and Quill alone. Honestly I felt as if my grandma was glad for Quill to step in somehow. After settling in our spots at the porch table outside Quill began to speak.
“Well jeez… I don’t really know where to start… First of all how are you?”
“Me?…I’m not even sure… I feel I’m stuck in shock if we're being honest” This comment earned me a smile from Quill. Who was busy examining my neck and throat area carefully. I opened up my shirt collar to fully show him. I was still feeling tender and sore but there wasn't much redness anymore.
“Sorry I just have to see… When I seen you not moving on Emily's bed I was panicked…I'm just really sorry this happened to you—”
“Quill look I know you're feeling a bit guilty about all of this but it isn't your fault. I’m not severely damaged or anything. I'm fine infact I'm grateful to be alive. How many people can say they were attacked by a vampire and lived?” I attempted to comfort Quill who I could tell was feeling bad. He sighed and shifted in his seat.
“I’m really glad to hear that. Yeah… You’re right I don’t see much scars that’ll be left on you… So that’s good. Honestly… But look y/n… I'm sure you have a lot of questions… Right? About all of this and how you fit into it. I'm here not only to check on you but also uhh… In better terms inform you. So any questions you wanted answered I can help you with”
“Really?”
“Yes really all of us know how it is when you first learn about all… of this. It's confusing and hard. Doesn't make it easier on you since you were attacked” I nodded silently in agreement. Feeling assured by having Quill here to support me. As I sat I thought of what questions I wanted to ask.
“I just wanted to be the first to tell you of how much support you can rely on. In truth I’m so glad you finally know about this. It was a struggle for me not to say anything to you. But I want you to know you can depend on me for anything”
“Really? You were going to tell me before I was attacked?”
“Yes of course and all of us here who know about it. We just wanted to ease you into this life but shit happened so fast. But good thing is you finally know. We all support each other here and now you’re one of us. You’ll learn who all knows eventually” Quill said earnestly which even I could feel he was being honest. It was a true comfort to hear that from him.
“Thanks Quill. I appreciate it truly, y’know at first of course this was all scary, but since I woke up I somehow feel better about all of this. The more I listen and understand anyway”
“Really? I’m glad to hear that. Of course I don’t want you to be shy to ask anything. But I don’t wanna push your limits and overwhelm you y’know? Do you think you can handle it all?” He sat awaiting for my answer. I nodded and took a deep breath in as an attempt to calm my nerves.
“So shoot your shot and I'll do my best to answer”
“Okay… Can we talk about when you first shifted?” Quill sat for a moment thinking back. He opened his mouth to speak but paused once more. I could tell he was nervous about all this also.
“Ok well… I shifted a bit after grandpa died, sometime after Jake and Embry, it was crazy y\n. I was younger back then. I thought I was going through some crazy growth spurt. I was constantly angry or on edge. It wasn’t until Sam approached me along with the boys. Once they told me about everything…I just… I just tried to survive. Y’know? Its been crazy to adjust to. But all in all it isn’t hard to maintain. It’s definitely a different lifestyle I thought I’d live”
“Yeah that I can understand. But can I ask what about your imprint? Grandma was telling me about some little girl named Claire? What’s that all about”
“You heard about Claire?” Quill asked as he started to sweat. I could tell he was becoming more nervous. I nodded yes and awaited for an answer.
“You understand how imprints work right? I—I’m sure grandma told you by now”
“She did and I somewhat understand. Not as fully as I’d like to since everyone keeps telling me I define it? I don’t know to be honest. I’m just curious on what you and Claire’s connection is like. If you don’t mind me asking”
“Well… All I can say that part is true, about defining it, me and Claire for example. I don’t know if you know but she’s only four. For her… She views me as an older brother. And that I will be since it’s what she decided. That’s something I’m fine with, with our bond it’s sacred, and I’m blessed to be chosen as her sworn protecter. And in a way she’s also my own protector” After hearing Quill’s words it made me feel reassured somehow. Realizing despite this divine connection both can still have a decision on the matter. Maybe Paul really was my own sworn protector. It could even be that I’m Paul’s protector. Who fully knows?
“… How do you feel about being Paul's imprint?” Quill asked me and I felt my stomach rise. Not that I was feeling scared but I felt more nervous than anything. I wasn’t even sure what to say to Quill. Although I liked and respected him I don’t know who he is fully.
“I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel. I hardly know Paul and suddenly we're… we're… I don't even know yet…” We sat in silence for a moment before Quill patted my back again. Although I was struggling it was a comfort to know I have Quill with me.
“There's a lot you still need to learn about. But you don't have to figure out all of it today. Just take your time we all figured you'll be resting for the next couple of days”
“By we do you mean Paul, Sam, and the others?”
“Yeah… We're all pretty close… Soon you will be too” Quill said assuring me. Talking with him was making me remember how I was back at Emily’s house. Since I was so stressed I reacted pretty harshly to them all. I felt betrayed somehow and scorned. After the smoke cleared I feel I shouldn’t have behaved that way. I wasn’t sure how to face any of them again.
Paul crossed my mind as well, I wished to know what he feels about all of this, how he views this connection. Remembering how he saved me from a worser fate. If we are truly bonded then how do we move forward?
“Quill… From what I remember you guys are mindlinked right? Or is it interlinked?” I asked him and he smiled. “You can call it a mind link yes” he sort of laughed before correcting me.
“Well.. either way… can I ask something?”
“Anything”
“Do you know how Paul feels about this?” This made Quill straighten his posture, feeling he was nervous again, he sat quiet for a moment. Almost as if he was deep in thought. I wondered how their mindlink was for them to experience.
“I know a little a bit about the mind link. You guys can understand each other in the pack… right? Or maybe you can explain it to me”
“Well… Yeah… it's hard to explain. I don't know what Paul thinks exactly including the others. But I can feel everyone’s emotion in the moment if that makes sense. If I tap in now I’ll know what he’s feeling but not what he’s thinking of or seeing specifically. An example is I can sense he’s angry but I won’t know what’s making him angry unless I ask. —Not saying he is angry right now! I’m just saying as an example. Just to be clear ok?"
“Oh? Oh okay…”
“The only one who can send ‘messages’ at any moment is the alpha. Our leader who is currently Sam. He can send and cross the boundaries in our mind at any given point. It’s like a huge group chat when we're wolves though. We can hear every thought from each other wether we like it or not. This is to help coordinate us but most of the time we’re all pissing each other off"
“Really?… That's actually really cool” I said smiling at him. Quill finally relaxed after explaining everything. Looking relieved and proud of how I was handling everything. Quill paused for a moment before scratching his head. Closing his eyes to breath in and out. He was deep in thought before he sat up to speak.
“From what I can pick up and understand is Paul feels… Worried”
“Worried? About what?” I asked and somehow this made Quill laugh. Confused I raised a brow at him. He shifted in his seat realizing his behavior.
“More like what aren’t we worried about. Look y/n we're dealing with the vampires, Victoria, the cullen family, Bella and Jacob their whole mess, shit just straight up surviving. Next is your sudden attack—”
I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise. As if all the nerves in my body were being alerted. Looking around I didn’t realize Quill stopped mid sentence. He too could sense someone coming. Suddenly a truck revved in the approach.
It was a huge black truck, I hadn’t seen it before, even if I did I wouldn’t recognize who owned it. It wasn’t long before they parked. Out from the drivers door stood Paul his self.
Looking at my phone I realized I had missed a 2 texts from him. One asking if I was up, and another that he was on his way, I hadn’t checked my phone all morning. Paul looked so big, he was almost taller than his truck, seeing him come closer I felt my heart race. I didn't think he would show up so soon.
“Y/N”
Tumblr media
“Paul”
I called out surprised as he walked up to the two of us. I couldn’t help but take note of his build and size. Quill got up and grabbed his hand, in turn Paul pulled him for a hug, they did briefly before they both patted each others back with strength.
“Well I appreciate it Quill. Truly. Don't be afraid to drop by more” I said as Quill came over to hug me next. He agreed before pulling away to make his exit. Suddenly my eyes met Paul's as he walked over to sit down in Quills spot.
“It was great seeing you y\n but I gotta go. I just wanted to stop in and check on you before this guy did. While I was on my break anyway” Quill said as Paul smiled at him.
“You were lucky to not be on morning shift you shitass” Paul replied. At this point I hardly seen him smile. It made him look more kind I noticed.
“Ill message you guys later” Quill said as he slightly smirked at me. I felt my face flush warm, across my nose and under my eyes, I didn't even want to face Paul in fear he'll see my face like this.
His eyes were dark and fierce. I wasn't scared but more nervous, I felt super aware of myself, and how I looked. I didn't expect to see him so soon. I wasn’t sure how to face him after everything.
We watched Quill run to the treeline. Quickly shifting into his wolf form. I gasped and paused to watch him. Amazed at such a sight although it was quick. Disappearing fast into the tree line.
“It's good to see you. How are you feeling?”
“Me?… I’ve been better… it’s good to see you too… What brings you by?” I asked finally sitting down back into my chair. Hoping I didn't come off as too nervous. He smirked and kept his stare into me.
“Well you of course. How did you sleep?” He asked looking at me more than curious. Saying such words as if it were matter of fact. Being around Paul in a setting like this, with his questions, it all made me blush.
“I uh… I slept okay after I had my meds… I didn't really get to thank you or any of you guys properly for the help you gave me” I said which made him shake his head no.
“There's no need for that. We're all just glad you're safe… And—” he had paused before closing his mouth. Looking like he was afraid to utter another word. I furrowed my brows waiting for him to finish.
“And?”
“… Unchanged… Look it's just… We were worried you might've…”
“Unchanged?… You mean turn into a Vampire? Like Victoria?”
I finished his words since he was apprehensive. Paul looked a bit shocked I said so before him. But he nodded and agreed with me. I felt my heart rate steadily rising. Thankful myself I wasn’t changed.
Paul's eyes trailed down to my neck. Except his stare was intense, eyes lingering, along the collar of my shirt. I felt I was under a microscope.
His eyes wondered everywhere for a moment. But somehow I didn’t mind. It reminded me of how Quill behaved just earlier. I looked at him as I spread the collar of my shirt slightly. I wasn’t sure why I was so willing to show him my wounds. Maybe because I knew he needed reassurance.
Finally I realized I was sitting with my neck and chest flushed open. Almost as if he noticed how it was making me feel he pulled back and adjusted his self. His stare softened as I fixed my shirt.
“Sorry… I just want to make sure you’re not too hurt…” he said explaining his self. Eyes peering downwards staring at his hands. I smiled at his somewhat meek behaviour.
“It's okay that's how Quill was too. But I'm fine now, really, there isn’t much wounds or scars thankfully. The meds help with what pain I have… And also…” I trailed on nervously. I wasn’t sure how to bring up the imprint situation with him. I wasn’t quite sure how sensitive this was to him.
But Paul held onto every word I was saying. He awaited for me to continue on. Looking at my lips while I talked.
“Uh… I had a talk with him and my grandmother. About everything so far…” I said as he leaned in closer. Raising his eyebrows I could tell he was earnest in what I had to say.
“It was… Hard when this first happened to me. But somehow I feel more at ease.. Especially with what I know now… I feel sorry for how I reacted last night… it wasn’t right of me”
Again Paul shook his head, this time he made sure to face me, I looked up back at him. My hearts pounding so loud now I wonder if he can hear it. I also wonder how sensitive their senses are since they’re wolves.
“Don't be sorry for anything. If anything it should be me apologizing. I really am sorry y\n. I wasn't fast enough to be there for you in time. I should’ve just came straight to your place instead of you walking to meet me. Hell I should’ve just picked you up as planned”
“Paul wait—”
“You were never supposed to be in involved in something like this. Ever. If I wasn’t so slow in meeting you this wouldn’t have happened at all—”
“Paul—”
“If I was even a second late to get to you—”
I felt my hand reach across to him. Instead of holding his hand I touched the arm of his chair. Like an instinct I felt I had to stop him from speaking anymore.
“But you weren’t a second late. You were able to save me before anything happened. There’s no use worrying over something that didn’t happen. I’m here alive and unchanged shouldn’t that matter?”
With how silent Paul became I wondered if I said something wrong. Or maybe he was the type of guy who didn’t like people interrupting him. Either way I felt as if I did something to him.
Paul looked surprised at my words as he looked at me. His gaze softened and he took a deep breath. I could see his huge shoulders relax as he nodded in agreement. His brows were still furrowed.
“No… You’re right… I am really glad you are here safe and sound… It does matter” A soft grin spread across his face. I wasn’t with him long but already I wondered why was I ever scared of a man like this. If he wanted to hurt me he would’ve just let Victoria have me. Why waste his time?
“So… You talked to Quill and your grandma? What did they have to say”
“Well… They tried helping me understand how shifting works and everything attached… including um…” I paused feeling my stomach doing flips trying to say imprinting. But with Paul here so close to me. Staring at me intently holding on to my every word. I felt so nervous to even bring it up.
It wasn’t just some connection, this is serious, imprinting is a literal soul connection. As much as I liked Paul I didn’t quite know him yet. And this is a serious soul tie that somehow links us. Paul laughed slightly as my face flushed red.
“You’re feeling better right? I know you’re still learning things. Especially about imprinting”he said not even shy to admit it. As if he was looking for a rise in me he paused. I scoffed at him which earned me another handsome smile from him.
“We don't have to figure out everything right now y\n. I know this is a lot for you so I don't want to push anything on to you”
“Actually I want to talk about this whole imprinting thing. If you're alright with that. The more that’s explained I feel better” I asked Paul to ensure he was ready. To which he nodded his head agreeing with me.
“That's fine. So, what do you want to know?” Paul asked me curious. I braced myself mentally for what I was about to bring up.
“It's just… I don't understand what makes our imprint connection” This had made him stunned from what I could tell. He leaned back in his chair thinking hard. Paul’s overall energy is intense, even though he’s nice, I can’t help but feel intimidated.
“Everyone else has their own… definition. Quill and Claire they're basically siblings… Emily and Sam are going to be married… What about us?” The more I spoke the more I felt my face flush warm. I felt as if I was poking a sleeping bear to wake. Or in this case a wolf. I didn't know Paul enough to know how'd he react.
“Well… I don't expect you to remember but back at Emily's. I had told you that we both decide what our connection is. This imprint bond connects us mind and body. But we have to define it. For now let's just decide to be friends” Paul said with a sincere smile. I felt myself relax at ease knowing his thoughts.
“Friends?” I questioned him also a bit surprised by his suggestion. Paul had sat up straight in his chair hearing me say this.
“Or I could just serve as your protector. Nothing more. Guard you and your home for the time being. You're probably feeling uneasy about Victoria and all the other leeches lurking around—”
“I wouldn't mind being friends with you Paul” I corrected him. Of course I wanted to be friends. I just didn't want to force anything onto him. Friends is a great start to try and navigate this connection.
His handsome face smiled at me once more. And I could feel my heart beat quicken whilst looking at him. It was crazy to think how this imprint bond strongly influenced me.
“Alright friends it is then. But I'll still be serving as your protector anyway”
“My protector huh? How generous”
“It really isn’t. It’s the least I can do after everything you went through. This is what my role is as your imprint” I could sense Paul was serious especially with his tone of voice. All I could do was nod my head in agreement. Soon Paul stood up from where he sat.
“You’re feeling better right? How do you feel about us going to Emily’s?” He asked me as he looked down at me. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see everyone. I hesitated to answer to which I think he could sense my unease.
“I think it’d be good for you to talk to all of them. They’ve been worried about you also. And I’m sure they can help you adjust to all of… this” Paul suggested to which I gave a weak smile. I shrugged my shoulders before I stood up to join him. I was going to have to face all of them eventually.
“Sure… I mean it’s just…” I felt hesitant about going back to Emily’s. To which I tried to explain myself to Paul. Who had turned to face me. His huge figure made it feel as if he was looming right over me.
“Don't worry we'll just go for a bit. If you feel uncomfortable or it's too much ill drive you back home. OK?” Paul said trying to assure me. I nodded as we walked to his parked truck. He had followed me to my side of the truck. Opening the door for me to get in I was surprised by his manners. Instead of questioning I just got in.
I couldn't help but like him a little more after such a gesture. As he walked around back to the driver's seat I adjusted my hair. Worrying about my appearance. Getting in the truck he smirked before starting the engine. Pulling into reverse and exiting the approach. He handed me the aux cord to which I refused.
“You don't wanna play music? I have bluetooth if you don't wanna use the aux”
“It's alright, you can put something on, it's your truck” I said as he shrugged his shoulders. Using Bluetooth he connected his phone to the stereo. A familiar song came on that surprised me.
“Is this /favoritebandsname l playing right now?” I asked curiously as his smile widened. His dark eyes still on the road.
“You like them too?’
Paul asked to which I nodded my head profusely. It made me happy to at least have similar music taste. From how Paul is I assumed he'd be my opposite. He had turned the knob for the volume up, the music blaring out the truck, I started to feel better. Definitely more relaxed and calm than this morning.
The two of us drove down the road, windows slightly open, as music filled the air. As I tried to mentally prepare myself to face everyone back at Emily's. Although It was a comfort to know that Paul would be by my side through this. I braced myself for what has yet to come.

Chapter 1
“They’re doing fantastic aren’t they?”
I glanced away from the stage towards the voice that came from behind me and smiled. It was their manager, Min, his face beaming with pride as he glanced out at the guys. “They’ve really worked incredibly hard to get to this point.”
I looked back out towards all of them and could feel the huge smile on my face. “They have, and it shows with every move they make.” I felt an overwhelming amount of pride and happiness surge throughout my body as we both stood there and watched them. I still couldn’t help but wonder just how I made it to this point and found myself reminiscing once again.
I've been with JYP now for almost a year, and with Stray Kids for almost as long. I started off as a simple intern; I was there to simply help do whatever needed to be done. I didn’t mind it, even with the pay being practically nonexistent, I was happy to be at the JYP building. My hopes of possibly one day seeing and meeting Stray Kids one of my end goals, it kept the motivation high to do anything anyone asked of me.
The first couple weeks I was here, I never really saw them, just heard about them constantly. I never imagined I would ever reach the level of working or interacting with them as I am now, but at the time just knowing I worked in the same building as them was enough to make me happier than I had ever been. One day when cleaning one of their practice rooms, an all too familiar person walked in on me.
Normally when I clean, I always have my earbuds in and the music turned up to a deafening level. It was particularly late that night and I wasn’t expecting anyone to be in the building, so of course that meant I could sing while I cleaned. I became lost in it until I finally looked up in the mirror and felt my whole heart on the verge of convulsing out of my chest.
“Shit!” I screamed much louder than I intended. The small bucket I was holding with water now rolled across the floor, its contents glistening everywhere as I had thrown it up in the air when I jumped. “I’m so sorry!”
The man quickly ran over to the small counter in the room and grabbed some paper towels before he came towards me. “No it’s my fault! I’m sorry, I just…I heard someone singing and wasn’t sure who it was.” I watched in sheer amazement as he bent down and laid the paper towels on the ground, waiting as it quickly saturated each towel with the spilt water. “I think I created an even bigger mess for you. I’m so sorry,” he said through a small, embarrassed chuckle.
I shook my head and dropped to the floor to help him finish drying the water up. “You don’t need to be doing this! I—I got it.”
He quickly glanced up at me, his dark eyes sparkling from behind his blonde bangs. “Absolutely not. Not only did I cause this mess, but I scared you, watched you without you knowing, and almost gave you a heart attack. The least I can do is fix the issues I caused.” He looked back down and meticulously gathered the paper towels into one neat pile. “Plus this is a much easier mess to clean up than I’m used to.”
I wanted to speak but my mouth wouldn’t open. I couldn’t believe he was here…talking to me…and treating me as if I’m just—well, a normal person and not a low ranking employee of his company.
He stood up and ran back towards the corner of the room where a small trash can sat and brought it back to where I was. He quickly gathered all the wet paper towels and tossed them into the trash can, clapping his hands together once he was finished. “I can take this out too. It looks like you had already emptied it.”
I still sat on the floor, my gaze locked on him and unable to say a word. He looked down at me, his smile growing wider by the second. He chuckled softly and bent down, setting the trash can off to the side of him. “Hey? You uh…you didn’t have a heart attack, right?”
I came back down to reality and quickly shook my head. “I’m so sorry!” I half yelled at him. “I just…I never thought I would get the chance to talk to you!”
His smile never leaving his face grew wider as the tips of his ears burned a fiery red. “You’re clearly a STAY it sounds like.” He ran his hand through his hair and looked away, his cheeks now matching the same red hue as his ears.
“Y-yeah I am…I’m sorry this must be weird for you.”
He looked back over at me, his eyes locking with mine as he tilted his head to the side. “Actually, no. You're not the first employee here to be a fan of ours.”
I felt a slight twinge ping in my chest at the word employee. He wasn’t wrong though, in fact I was kind of lower than an employee as my status of intern. He seemed to notice the change in me as he quickly started apologizing again. “That’s not what I meant!” He said, his hands waving in the air as he sat down on the floor next to me.
I couldn’t help but start to laugh. I rubbed at the corners of my eyes, the warm sensation of tears pooling in them as my laughter became more difficult to stop.
“I think I broke you…” he said before he himself started laughing softly.
I shook my head and took a deep breath. “You’re exactly how you are in all your live videos, you know that?”
His eyes grew wide as he quickly looked away again. “Ha, you mean awkward?” He said in a shy tone.
“No, not awkward. You’re more intimidating than anything if I’m being honest.” I felt my nerves start to take over as he looked back at me. I quickly turned away and rubbed my fingers along my arm. “You’re just…I don’t know…you’re…you.”
He held his hand out towards me as he motioned for me to stand up with him. I hesitantly took it and felt as if I was in some sort of dream state once our hands met. “Well I would certainly hope I’m me. I’d hate to be anyone else.” He let go of my hand and looked around the room. “Did you clean this all by yourself?”
I nodded and looked around. “Yeah, it wasn’t all that bad. Honestly, cleaning all the mirrors is the hardest part.”
He nodded and snickered under his breath. “Wow, I’m impressed. This is one of our larger practice rooms.” He looked back over at me and tilted his head. “By the way, your singing is very beautiful. That’s what drew me here.”
I felt my whole face reach a temperature of a thousand suns as I quickly looked away from him. ”Th—thank…y-you” I said slowly.
He brushed his hand against my arm and once again chuckled slightly. “Hey, calm down. I’m nobody special.”
I jerked my head up and locked eyes with him. “Yes you are!” I quickly slammed my hand against my mouth and took a step back. I can’t believe I just said that out loud.
I expected him to turn and walk away but instead he took a step closer towards me. “Thank you, that means a lot uh…” he looked at my shirt, a puzzled expression gracing his face as he locked eyes with me again. “What’s your name?”
“Y/N”
He smiled his huge toothy smile and extended his hand once more. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Y/N, my name is Christopher, but you probably know me better as Bang Chan.”
I shook his hand and found myself starting to calm down. His grip was tighter this time compared to when he pulled me up off the ground as he finally let go of my hand. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and let out a small sigh. “Hey sorry but I have to take this. I hope to see you around!” He waved as he turned and headed towards the door, his phone quickly going to his ear.
And just like that he was gone. I stood in the same spot for I don’t know how long. Long enough that my feet started to go numb. I gathered my supplies and headed toward the door myself, looking back in to make sure I left nothing behind. I flipped the lights off and pulled the door shut as I walked down the hall, my mind still replaying what had unfolded not too long ago.
“I met Christopher Bang….I actually met him!” I replayed that same statement over and over in my head the entire way outside. Somehow managing to drive myself back home, all while still reliving that small interaction that I had with him.
It was a sheer stroke of luck at that point that I even saw him that night and for that, I was happy. I never dreamed I would see him again, let alone reach the level of relationship I have with him today. If only I knew then what I knew now, I might have been able to win him over sooner.
“Hey….Y/N.” I finally snapped back into reality to see Min snapping his fingers next to my face. “Where did you go? I’ve been talking to you for the past ten minutes and you’ve been in a complete trance.”
I shook my head and felt the small droplets of sweat bead on my forehead. “I’m sorry! I got caught up reminiscing again I guess.”
He crossed his arms and swayed on the heels of his shoes, the sound of his laugh drowned out by the loud music. “You know you’d think the woman who captured Chris’s heart would pay attention when he’s on stage.”
I looked around and noticed the many different members of the production and stage crew around us. “Min!” I hissed through clenched teeth.
He smiled and leaned down to speak directly to me. “You’re fine. No one could hear me over their performing. Besides, they’re paying extra close attention. This is their job after all.”
I slowly looked back around and noticed he was right. Not a single one of them was paying any attention to us. They were all focused on multiple different things involving the stage, the guys, the lighting. Min and I were nothing more than furniture at this point.
I looked up when I heard the ending of Maniac draw near. This was the time when they would take a short but well needed break. They’d only have about ten minutes, but ten minutes was more than some venues would allow.
Min tugged on my sleeve as we both headed towards one of the back rooms. This is where they had left the majority of their personal items as well as where all the snacks and drinks were. I looked around at the vast assortment of drinks and laughed. “What?” Min asked as he grabbed a bottle of water off one of the tables and took a large drink.
“Nothing. I just couldn’t help but notice the surplus of pomegranate juice here.”
Min shrugged his shoulders and winked, a little tik of his he has when he's in a good mood. “I’m tired of hearing Han complain about there never being any when we have shows. So I put that at the top of the list. Think this is enough?”
I counted all of them and shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know, 12 bottles might not cut it. You might be getting demoted, buddy.” I gently pushed his arm as we both laughed amongst ourselves. We took a seat on one of the small couches and waited for the guys to show up. They had just left the stage and were more than likely being escorted here before they had to change their outfits.
“They’re doing incredible,” I said quietly. “I figured they’d be nervous with this being the first tour concert in a long time.”
Min leaned back and pulled his leg up over his knee. “I think they are nervous, but the excitement of it all is keeping that hidden. All of them, regardless of the stress it may bring, they love the stage. But,” he took a quick drink and looked back at me. “I guarantee you they’re going to sleep like the dead tonight. This has been a toll on me so I can’t imagine what they're feeling right now..”
We both looked up as the door opened and a unanimous “Snacks” rang out across the room. Changbin and Hyunjin were the first two in and immediately headed towards the tables full of snacks and quickly chose their favorites. Han trudged in behind them and slumped down on one of the other couches in the room, a very dramatic sigh escaping his mouth. Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N joined in at the snack table, their excitement echoing throughout the room as they all seemed to choose something different. Last but not least Felix and Chris came in. Felix quickly ran over to Han and sat down on his back, his huge smile beaming from ear to ear as he lightly bounced up and down. Han laughed underneath him as he squirmed, trying to get free.
Min and I stayed where we were. We didn’t need to interrupt the small break they had and we certainly didn’t want to put them behind. I glanced away from Felix and Han when I felt someone sit down beside me. “Alright you two, break it up.”
Chris weaseled his way in between Min and I and continued pushing Min further away. I felt the all too familiar redness rush to my face as I felt the overwhelming heat radiating from his body. They’d already performed over ten songs and still had well over 15 more left to go. He leaned back against the seat and lifted his arm up to rest on the back of the couch. “What did you think?” He asked happily. He had very unique ruby colored contact lenses in his eyes tonight and I couldn’t help but find myself staring at them. They almost shimmered when the light hit it just right.
“You guys are doing amazing! I seriously don’t know how you do it!” I said excitedly.
I felt him lean in closer as he shifted his weight around in the seat. “Hmmm, well, it's definitely not on my part. I know the rest of the members are amazing but I’m just kind of…well me.” He laughed a very small laugh and shook his head. “And don’t you even think about telling me I’m wrong. Either of you!” He pointed a finger at both Min and I, knowing we were going to say something. Chris always puts himself down and both Min and I always fight him on that. Lately he’s been trying to shut us up before we have the chance to say anything but that’s never stopped us before.
But before we had the chance to say anything to him, a young woman knocked on the door and drew all of our attention towards her. “You guys have around five minutes left. You’re all needed in dressing room 1 and 2.” She nodded her head and quickly ran back down the hall.
“Hhh, some break this was,” Lee Know grumbled from the chair he’d claimed in the short amount of time he was here. They quickly all gathered their trash and headed back out into the hall. Chris however stayed where he was. “Aren’t you going to go with them?” I asked curiously.
He shot Min a quick look which made him get up and follow the rest of the guys. He took a deep breath in and laid his head on my shoulder. “You know we have a fan signing after this right?”
“Yeah, I do.” I slowly leaned my head down on his but quickly chose not to. I was afraid to mess up his perfectly styled hair, and the last thing I needed was Kimberly from hair and makeup to come and hunt me down.
His hand made its way up to my thigh as he started tracing small circles against my silk slacks. “You don’t need to stay that late for me. Why don’t you head home after the concert?”
His light touch sent shivers throughout my body as if it were the first time he’d ever touched me all over again. I leaned away and watched as he raised his head up off my shoulder so he could look directly at me. “But why?” I asked, the undertone of annoyance not hidden at all in my tone.
He lifted his hand up to my face and gently caressed my cheek. “Because I said so.” He leaned in closer, his voice dropping lower as he locked his eyes with mine. “And you’re going to listen to what I ask of you, aren’t you.” The hold this man had on me was unrealistic. I slowly nodded without realizing as I watched his dimples peek out on his cheeks from his smile growing. “Good girl.” He quickly kissed my forehead and ran towards the door, his jacket already completely off of him before he made it out into the hall.
I let my head fall back against the couch and stared up at the ceiling as my heart continued to race. I still could feel the ghost-like feeling of his fingers against my leg as once again my mind started to race with the many thoughts of him.
My name is Y/N, and I’m an average girl living a not so average life. I’m the secret girlfriend of one of the world's most famous K-Pop idols, Christopher Bang, leader and overall founder of Stray Kids. And this is the story on how that came to be.

He tried to bite you again but you payed not mind to it you grab the fish bucket and threw him over you shoulder and March back to you treehouse take the merman with you.
Later that night
(???) Hisss Hisss Hissssssssssss
You find yourself struggling a bit to get a hold of the merman. Elson munched on his fruit snacks as he watch you try to heal the merman. You cut the stupid boys arm to deep and he needs stitches immediately and he won't stop Squirming around. You finally shook him before quickly giving him the stitches closing his wound. The boy was Rightfully confused as his wound was clean and closed. You released him back into the bathtub before leaving. Elson sit quietly and you quickly kissed him
(Y/N) Ba.....by
Elson perked up at you and listened, you then pointed at the other indicating to Elson that you want him to watch the little mer-siren boy. You finally leave to the kitchen. Elson continued to sit quietly until

Elson jumped in surprised he was shocked to hear the mer-boy speak
(???) Where am I? Who was she? What did she do to me?
After hearing his questions Elson finally answered

(???) Who???
(Elson) ice cube Mommy she cut you and stitched you back up using string. You shouldn't have tried to attack her.

Elson felt something inside himself snap before grabbing the mer-boy's arm Threatening to freeze it off...
(Elson) (yelling) I should tell you but 🧊 Mommy she could've KILLED you but she didn't she decided to take PITY on a pathetic little cretin like you and if you ever in you potentially short life ever say something like that again. I WILL END YOU MYSELF!!!!!!
This shook the red head as Elson was quiet up until now. He must have struck a nerve or something. Just then you came back into the bathroom
(Y/N) (plainly) loud
(Elson) (whispering) I'm sorry mommy
(Y/N) (darkly) Rules???
(Elson) TreeHouse Rule number 15 no loud noises after 7:00pm
You calmed down and nodded and pointed to the kitchen meaning its time for dinner. Elson quickly got up and speed walked to the dining room not before kissing you face. You then looked at the mer boy before taking him out the tub.
(???) Put me down human do you know who your messing with?!
You glared at the red haired boy before dropping him in the kitty pool you put in the dining room. After words you went to the Drawer and took out two bibs and put them on the boys
(???) What is this thing?!
(Elson) it's a Bib
(???) What is it for?
(Elson) she's gonna feed us
(???) What?!
You took a bowl of food you made a chicken salad and mash potatoes
(Y/N) Choo.......Choo.......Baby.......Boy
Elson Obediently open his mouth as you fed him. The mer-boy's looked on a weirded out by the image in front of him. You then you tried to do the same thing to the red head
(???) Oh know you get away from me you Disgusting freak human girl!
He then smacked the spoon at of you hand knocking over the bowl too. You and Elson looked at the mess two of you felt two things you of course didn't do anything but Elson wanted to break the ungrateful mer boys neck for what he just did. You then spoke
(Y/N) Elson......Baby
Elson looked at you again
(Y/N) BEDTIME🌙
Elson visibly paled even futher then before bolting out of their and into his room as fast as he can. he knew what was going to happen next and he would say he felt bad for the other boy but that's bold face lie.
Meanwhile you yanked the red boy over your lap and put on a timer
(???) Let me go human or I'm gonna
SMACK!
The merman froze as he felt a sudden smack on his bottom. Did that human girl just? he didn't even have time to think as the onslaught continued
SMACK!
SMACK!
SMACK!
SMACK!
SMACK!
The Merman tried to get off your lap but your grip was Inhumanly strong and fuel with your fury, this continued spank him for over an hour until the timer went off. you finally stopped spanking him and took him by the neck to your face, just to see an unusual sight. The mer-boy's face was completely red, he sweating and panting pretty hard not to mention he was drooling a bit. His eye that were crossed regained focuse and he smiled a bit
(???) Why you stop human you must be really mad at me so go ahead continue🤤
Did you just brat Tame a merman?
Yes Yes you Did😳
how shocking 😲
Anyway things obviously change with in the household. The next morning 🌄 Elson woke up to a shocking sight. The red haired boy was Lounging on you lap eating the breakfast you made pancake 🥞bacon 🥓 eggs 🥚 hashbrowns 🥔 and toast 🍞.
(Y/N) Choo..........Choo
(???) Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
The red boy was wearing a Bib as you fed him. Elson was perplexed last night he was being an entitled brat and now he's being a good little boy like what?!
(???) Hehe Thank you Human can I have another?
You nodded as you fed him a Piece of pancake that he happily ate. You then got Tried up to get up but before you did a pair of lips Met yours.
(Both) Mmmmmm❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You had a short Make out session with the merman boy before pulling away so he can kiss you neck.
(Y/N) Elson........Baby....... Come....Eat
Elson still in shock sat a the table where Breakfast was put infront of him. The merman was surprisingly Clingy and quite Touch starved and love to feel and squeeze your hips. He had a deep blush on his face as he did so and you moaned a bit before moving away from him.
(Y/N) Baby
(???) (Moaning) Yes Human girl oh yes I love to be a baby
Elson believe it or not was jealous he thought he was baby. He Denied it a few times but he was just being a tease. He doesn't want to share his attention with the sea man.
(Elson) 🧊 mommy now that the merman is healed and not bleeding anymore shouldn't you take back to the river im sure he would like that.
The merman froze what? It can be were you were you going to take him back? Were you going to leave him were you going to abandoned him?
no no no no No No No No No NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
I cry was let out. A loud cry of Devastation and desperation was let out.
(???) (Crying) NO YOU CAN'T, YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME YOU CAN'T ABANDON ME I WON'T LET YOU. PLEASE I'LL DO ANYTHING DON'T LEAVE ME BEHIND MOMMY DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE NOT YOU TOO, PLEASE SILENT MOMMY I LOVE YOU!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You heard the merman call out to you and what you saw was not a Ingrate merman with an attitude problem, but a broken little baby boy who was hurt and apparently abandoned and has never recovered from it. With that you made a decision as you spoke.
(Y/N) Who......Are.........You?
(???) I am prince Adrian I'm a mer-siren. I've been looking for you for so long I want to be part of your world 🌎 if you have me
You point to picture the main hall in the Picture was a teen you In a flimsy swim suit sitting on a dead great white shark and a Tilapia fish in you teeth and of course you had a blank blood cover face. Adrian was now more in love then ever with and look at the frame in the corner.
(Adrian) Your (Y/N)?
(Y/N) (Y/N).......(L/N)
Adrian trapped in your web of love and sociopathty kissed you again
Adrian didn't care that he was in danger
Adrian didn't care that he was trapped
Adrian didn't care that he will never go into the water again
But what Adrian did care about was that he now has you and he will never let you go.
Same goes for you too❤️❤️❤️🔪💋
Meanwhile with Elson was furious! how dare this red haired Maniac step into his territory as baby boy. No, he's not about to let that title go and he is not about to share you with him either. He'll make sure of that.
Done Done and Done you have prince Adrian living with you and Elson Ain't Having it when it comes to his title as baby boy. We'll see how that goes. Well please Make some more comments I appreciate the likes but I really want comments and maybe a reblog but that up to you (Pieces!!!!) Chaper 7 up next

Previous chapter << Current chapter >> Next chapter
‘’- Work for you?..’’ - you repeated Diluc’s question as if you were not entirely sure if you’d heard him correctly. To your surprise, the man only nodded, as he took a sip of tea from his cup. ‘’- Yes. I still feel somewhat indebted to you and maybe working in Angel’s Share would help you get back on your legs, make your own money and start a new life…’’ - Diluc confirmed, and yet, his thoughts were left unfinished. Both of you knew that it was impossible. Once The Fatui catches interest in someone, there is no way of them letting go. It was a cruel truth that both of you were too afraid to vocalize.
You were an assistant of Dottore, and now, knowing what you’ve done, it was only a matter of time before someone comes for you. The time was ticking extremely fast and running away was by far the best option in your option. But where would you go? And you did need the money to survive for a while… Therefore, at the same breakfast table, you and Diluc made a deal. Since you were wearing a cape with a hood during the incident in the tavern, no one would visibly recognize you. That allows you to stay in the city for just a little longer until the rumours start to spread.
That way, you could make yourself some money and flee when the time was right. And so, you took the job of a bartender in Diluc’s tavern. The very same day, Diluc Ragnvindr took you to ‘’Angel’s Share’’, where you were introduced to Charles. Charles seemed like an extremely friendly guy, as he promised to guide you through each recipe of drinks and encouraged you to always ask him for help if something unexpected happens. And so, your bartending job in Angel’s Share began.
During the day, when there was a lack of people that were ready to let loose, Charles showed you the most basic mixology tricks and even treated you with a delicious ‘’Berry & Mint juice’’. And just when you were starting to feel more freely around the bartender, Charles decided to step into a more risky zone. ‘’- Say, Y/N, I’ve never seen you around the city before… You are not local here, are you?’’ - he asked, shining a glass with a towel in his hands. You felt your movements stop for a moment as you caught Charle's eyes, which were somewhat mysteriously staring right at you. The worst part is, that you were too distracted to think of a proper response to this kind of question beforehand, which left you in quite an awful situation right now. ‘’- I… I am here to-’’ ‘’- You need to get your story straight. Think of a believable backstory. People in the tavern will notice your new presence and will start raising questions.’’ - Charles stated, as he made his way towards you and patted your shoulder. ‘’- Diluc trusted me enough to let me know about your true identity. But don’t worry. I will make sure that none of us get in trouble. I have no ill intentions.’’ - The bartender smiled reassuringly. Upon hearing such words, it felt like a huge burden was instantly removed from your shoulders, as you managed to smile back at Charles in relief. You were more than thankful. But it was true – a believable backstory was a must if you wanted to hide your true identity. As you continued sorting out various drinks, the sky slowly turned dark and it was time for the people of Mondstadt to finish their jobs and head to their favorite place in town – ‘’Angel’s Share’’. The night soon started to become quite busy. Charles did not let you mix any drinks, but he did always ask you to pass various juices and other beverages for him to take care of. Cleaning glasses and restocking alcohol from time to time was truly harder work than it might seem to be. Everything seemed to be quite monotonous until three locals walked into the bar at once. As you returned from the storage room with a new box of grape juice, you momentarily stopped in your tracks, upon seeing the new visitors. Those three friends sitting at the bar right now were the same ones that witnessed yesterday’s incident. With an exhale, you decided to not think much of it, as you pushed a box of juice under the counter into its rightful place. As Charles seemed to be already preparing orders for the people at the bar, the smaller guy with a green cape and hat motioned his hand towards you, as the other two of his friends turned their eyes to your form. ‘’- Hey! I don’t believe I’ve seen you here before? Are you a new bartender? Never knew Master Diluc was hiring… I would’ve taken upon this opportunity myself!’’ - The shorter man exclaimed. ‘’- We all know that you’d only work here to steal the wine. At least try to act normal and not scare off the new worker… I’m Rosaria, by the way’’ – the woman spoke, extending her hand for you to shake. You smiled at the nun before you as you politely introduced yourself and shook her hand in return. Rosaria did not wait to introduce the other two of her companions – Cavalry Captain Kaeya and Venti, the bard. The three of them seemed like a cheerful group. They did drink quite a lot, but Rosaria and Kaeya could not compare to Venti, which was downing one glass after the other. As the tavern started to settle down and no new customers seemed to enter the tavern, you and Charles could breathe a little bit more freely. The rush hour was over and Charles excused himself and made his way out of the tavern through the backdoors, leaving you alone behind the counter, just lazily looking at the drunkards around you. You didn’t fail to notice how Kaeya’s uncovered eye did not leave your figure for even a minute and it wasn’t that surprising that he was planning on starting a conversation with you. ‘’- So, Y/N… Tell me, how come such an adorable being like you decided to start working in a place like this? Is Master Diluc treating you well?’’ - Kaeya asked, smirking, as he swirled a glass of wine in his hand. Before you could answer, a familiar deep voice came from behind you, as Diluc made his way through the backdoors of the tavern. ‘’- Kaeya, I hope you’re ready to pay for your yesterday's tab too. If not – it’s the last drink for you tonight’’ – Diluc said strictly, as he nodded to you. ‘’- Aw, Diluc, you’re no fun…’’ - The blue-haired man sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes. The young master turned to you and spoke in a much softer tone than he spoke to Kaeya : ‘’- Y/N, please go fetch me some clean towels from the storage room. I am going to take over Charle's place for the night.’’ - Diluc asked. With a nod, you obeyed his request and left to get the requested things. Your leaving form was mesmerizingly watched by Kaeya, which had a small, rather mysterious smile on his face. But his thoughts were cut short, when Diluc stepped in front of him, blocking the view of you from the Cavalry Captain’s curious eyes. The red flaming eyes were staring daggers into the cold, icy ones.

New Year Resolutions - 2024
I'm not typically someone who thinks long and hard about my New Year's Resolutions. I tend to always have the same vague goals in mind that usually involve losing weight and trying to look better (sad, I know).
I think the fact that I turn 30 this coming year has made me reflect more on the type of person I'd like to be - I'm entering a new season of life here soon and I'm not satisfied with where I'm at as far as my own personal growth is concerned.
And really, the things I'm dissatisfied with are all things that I can easily change. Nothing is so drastic or monumental that it's impossible for me to start working on. I just need to start.
So moving forward, these are my goals:
Goal 1: Pick up on reading again
I read a total of I think...2 books in 2023. I used to read 2 books (sometimes more) in a week. It's just sad. I read a lot on my phone, but I'd like to swap screen time for book time. In the same vein, I'd also like to utilize the library more.
I think a very reasonable goal for me to is to complete 1 book a month. I started the book "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" a couple of months back. I'm only about 4 or 5 chapters into it, even though I was hooked at the time of reading. I just sort of fell off reading it for no reason (it's still on my nightstand, collecting dust).
I'd like to get back to that book and finish reading it by the end of January. Then try to read a book per month? That sounds reasonable.
Goal 2: Pick up on working out/moving more again
Pretty self explanatory, and probably a goal on everyone's NYR list. I know I feel better when I move in every way, even if I'm not actively losing weight - I have more energy, my body feels flexible, my clothing fits better, I don't feel achy or stiff. Really no excuse for this one because our gym isn't that far from us and we have plenty of sidewalks to walk on outside.
Goal 3: Don't spent frivolously/try to only keep to the essentials
This one is a bit of a newer thing for me. I've been very into watching no-buy videos on YouTube, and while I don't think I can be that strict with myself, I know there are many things I can cut down on spending wise.
I'm working on taking things down to the bare essentials, especially in the bathroom. I only want one of each thing: one shampoo, one face wash, one moisturizer, one serum, etc. Sometimes I have had up to 2 or 3 products for one purpose, and it overwhelms me.
Honestly, I'm almost already to the point of having figured out my favorite products that work for me, but I do have some spare items I need to use up (but do not plan on repurchasing). I only want to buy these items when I need them, nothing more, nothing less. I'm tired of letting things go bad because I don't use them. I'm producing unnecessary waste and losing money!!
This basic idea also applies to other things, such as food, home goods, etc. Like am I buying something I will really use or enjoy as a treat, or am I just wanting the high of purchasing something I don't really need.
Sometimes it's unavoidable, but I'd like to try and be better and more mindful about my purchases.
Goal 4: De-clutter, tidy, and be on top of donating/selling stuff
I try to de-clutter at least a couple times a year. I think I'm pretty good at it, but I need to be on top of donating and selling stuff I do not intend to keep. I tend to make a pile for each and then...procrastinate actually donating or selling the items. I just need to act quickly and get rid of them asap.
If my space has less stuff, then it is much easier to routinely clean. I'd also like to focus on cleaning more this year, in a way that doesn't force me to do a huge deep clean that stresses me out and exhausts me. If I keep spaces relatively clean throughout the week on a regular basis, then I have less to clean when I really need to dig in and deep clean...y'know?
Goal 5: Stay hydrated
I just need to work on keeping hydrated on a regular basis. That's all!
Goal 6: Save money
Saving is always a goal of mine. I'd like to save up a little more than enough to finish paying off my car this year, and build my savings back up to a comfortable amount. It's currently not terrible, but it's not where I'd like it to be.
I think this one is easily do-able, especially if I cut back on spending on things I don't truly need.
Goal 7: Take the time to learn new skills
This mainly pertains to me needing to sit down and actually learn SQL...my boyfriend keeps encouraging me to learn it. I also want to learn it to hopefully move on to a better paying job, but it intimidates me.
I'd like to start taking small steps into learning it this year. Maybe I can finish the year with a certificate or something.
This also applies to crafting. Not that I myself am an avid crafter, but I think it'd be fun to do small crafts here and there throughout the year. I'm thinking mainly for gift giving occasions. I stretched myself so thin money wise this year for Christmas, but I think I can plan ahead and spend less money but give better gifts...if that makes sense.
/ /
But yeah, I think that's about it for my 2024 goals!
All in all, the theme for me is to be more mindful and proactive in many different facets of my life. I've felt quite thoughtless in regards to myself, and I want to put in some more effort to feel like a whole rounded person again.

The Miys, Ch. 201
Not even gonna lie, I kinda gave up on the queue at this point. It seems like every time there is an update to the site, my scheduled posts vanish. So, instead, I brought my tablet and a mobile hotspot to work so I could post on time,
Got to do what you got to do, right?
Shout outs for this week go to @bogwalkr and @peachymis, both of whom have been going through chapters at a very impressive clip.
Thanks, as always, goes to @baelpenrose for his beta reading, and also @quantumizedinsanity, who is trying to help me get this huge thing cleaned up for AO3.
“Can I retire yet?” I groaned as I fell on my sofa.
Immediately, I levitated back to a standing position with a shriek when a disembodied voice responded. “You have four more months until then, Wisdom.”
One hand slammed into my sternum while the other braced against the nearest sturdy surface as I caught my breath. “Are… are you speaking to me again, Miys?”  Thankfully, I didn’t even have to remind myself to not get my hopes up, seeing as I was half panicking and half mad as hell.
“I have never declined to speak to you.”
Wincing at the literal nature of the response, I tried again. “I was under the impression that you were angry with me, specifically, and no longer fraternizing with the humans on board, in general.  This is definitely the first time in several months that you have voluntarily spoken to me unless I asked a direct question in an official capacity.”
“Technically, asking an empty room the remaining duration of your tenure in your current role with the Council is a question in an official capacity, and one which could be interpreted to be directed at me.”
Discretion was the better part of valor, and cowardice sufficed, so I agreed to let it drop. “I thought I had one Terran year after the establishment of the Colony?”
“A year which will largely consist of handing over your responsibilities and smoothing the transition, not any actual work.”
Shaking my head, I made my way to the console. “One adult beverage, hold the additional nutrients just this once,” I asked before continuing. “And I don’t know where you got the impression that handing over a job isn’t actual work.”
“I fail to see the laborious part of a transition in which you have been training your replacement options for the better part of a decade.”
“Oooo,” I drew out mischievously. “You really are talking to me again. And to what may I attribute this wondrous occasion?”
“I am simply responding to your inquiry and also attempting to report a malfunction within the computers that is preventing new information from being transmitted to the escort fleet.  The time stamps are updating, but the data transmissions are simply reporting data from the last fourteen ship days. It is also transmitting the data out of sequence. It is distressing.”
Surrrre it is, bud. I’d received more impassioned weather reports. Out loud, I assured them “I’ll have Derek take a look. I assume that is why you told me rather than Pranav or Alice?”
A buzzing hum betrayed their coming excuse. “I am not entirely certain that Derek is not the cause.”
I arched a brow at the ceiling and pursed my lips to one side. “It’s not like he’s going to lie about it. He’ll just refuse to fix it.”
“I still request that you belay any inquiry in that direction until I am certain.”  The response was rushed, which told me all I needed to know.
Miys had done it, and humans dinking around in the system were the scapegoat. “In that case, let me know when you’ve finished your investigation, and I will put the appropriate parties on it,” I caged.
“Duly noted. What will you do once you leave the Council?”
I twisted my neck into a very uncomfortable position, purely out of confusion. “I’m…. I’m not sure, Miys.”
“You may call me Noah, Wisdom.” There was a subsonic hum behind the normal buzz of their ‘casual’ tone.
“I’m not sure what I’ll do when I leave the Council, Noah,” I sighed, sitting on the couch again and dropping my head against the back. “I suck at glass blowing, at any constructive portions of agriculture, and my knitting is ugly at best.”
Another hum issued from the ceiling, and my heart twisted in hope for better times. “You show significant proficiency in combat medicine - a disturbing amount for a human with no record of enlistment, radicalism, or training.”
“Eyeah. We’re not going into medicine.”
“Your psychological profile is rather counter indicative. What about your aptitude in cultivating spores?”
I scowled softly. “Leaving food in my fridge entirely longer than is necessary or healthy is not an aptitude.”
My drink spilled down my shirt when I heard Tyche’s voice drily intone “You would be surprised.”
“What the fuck!?” I shouted, brushing droplets off of me. “You called my sister?”
“I apologize, I did not.” A grinding noise I had never noticed before was added to their voice, and I wondered if it was a malfunction or an emotion I hadn’t identified yet. “I am unable to accurately produce the necessary level of emotional tone, and have established that Tyche’s tone is the one you are most responsive to in the regard to that emotion.”
Of fucking course. I rubbed my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose. “Hokay. Let’s run this back. You mentioned my proficiency in cultivating spores. I said ‘Leaving food in my fridge entirely longer than necessary or healthy is not an aptitude’.”
“You would be surprised.”
“You want me to learn to grow fungi.” In context and less startled, I blinked several times. “Wait. Waitwait wait.”  Scrabbling, I bolted to set my drink in the console for a refill while I flicked my datapad open and started typing furiously. “Noah, I need you to send me all mycologists on the Ark. If you find them before I do, I’ll buy you dinner.”
“I do not eat Terran food.”
“But you do ingest composted matter, and I can get that. You can do whatever you do while we chat. We’ll have dinner. It works…” I trailed off as my search came up with one biologist with a focus in the topic and three with sub-specialties. “Okay, we do have mycologists…. That’s a good sign.” Granted, it wasn’t very many, but if I went that route I would have someone to show me the ropes.
“Cultivation of spores on hot planets is particularly difficult.”
“We have caves,” I waved off. “Networks and networks of caves. The humidity is excellent in subsurface formations warmed by geothermal springs.”
“If humans do not take up the space.” Was Miys wheedling? That sounded like wheedling.
“Most humans despise humidity unless there is a corresponding amount of airflow,” I assured them. “Else will be fine, I just need to figure out what their preferred diet is these days….”
“Yes, Else.” The confirmation was sharper than I was used to, but I shook my head and continued on with the new challenge.
“AH!” I barked. “Says here that eighty percent of Else’s current configuration subsists on high protein vegetable matter and - capsaicin. Whoops! Sorry about that, Noah.” It did no good to even pretend I was blameless in our resident fledgling species’ love of the spice.  Granted, I was maybe half of half of half of a percent responsible, but still. Culpability.
“Technically, bell peppers contain capsaicin, and I am quite all right with those.”
That made my brows furrow. “Noah, Else loves capsaicin, the higher the concentration the better. Bell peppers aren’t going to cut it.”
“I understand that the podlings prefer much spicier fare,” Noah conceded. “But it does cause me burns.”
Suddenly, their interest in my future vocation seemed a lot less like concern for Else. Very, very carefully, I ventured my next comment. “We have the areas of the Ark dedicated to cultivation of foods that may harm you designated as a biohazard.”
“This is correct.”
“And the bell peppers are not in there,” I pointed out. “They are in the same BioLabs as the lettuces so that they go into the same biowaste containers. Because we know you like them.”
“This is also correct.”
“Is someone growing spicy spice in those labs without our knowledge? In labs other than One and Five?”
“This is not accurate. No, Wisdom, they are not.”
I nodded slowly. “So you are suggesting that we cultivate the produce from BioLabs three, four, seven, and ten in locations on Von as far from the produce from Biolabs One and Five as possible?”
“That would be preferred.”
“And Biolab Six is safe to put near the spicier group?” Six was dedicated to simulated genetic sequencing on Terran livestock that was considered either unkosher or haram.
“Yes, Wisdom.”
I nodded again. “But not Nine.” Nine was the same aquaponics lab that Eino assisted in, the one that smelled like hell and cow farts.
“Certainly not Nine. Data indicates that the crops in Nine would work far better embedded in the crops from Four and Seven, specifically.”
“Hmm.” I raised my brows and stood to get another drink. Four and Seven held crops that were especially prone to rot and required a significant degree of climate control. Which made them a very odd choice to suggest they be grown near the aquaponic crops. Something was going on, that much I knew.  I couldn’t tell if it was help or sabotage. “Well then. A toast. To computer malfunctions, mycology, and… knowing what crops don’t mix well.”
“Indeed.”
I needed someone a bit more familiar with this, for sure. And I knew just where to start.

A Manchester Affair (Rúben Dias): Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Chapter 5
Chapter 7
Masterlist
Wattpad
When she woke up a couple of hours later, Lucía felt like a new person. Her body still felt weak, but most of the symptoms were gone.
She was no longer feeling hot because of the high temperature, but because of Rúben's body next to hers. He had also fallen asleep, but not before putting his arms around her to hug her tightly. She tried to get up without waking him up but the moment she moved, his eyes opened.
"Are you ok?"
"I am, yes. A lot better".
She tried to get up now, but he stopped her. "Don't move. I'll bring you whatever you need".
"It's ok. I can get up. I don't feel dizzy anymore and it'll be good to move a bit after spending the day laying down", she said, stretching.
"I'm serious. Stay here. Are you hungry? Thirsty?"
"Rúben", she said, trying not to laugh. "I need to pee. You can't help me with that".
"I can take you to the bathroom…"
"Oh my God, stop it!", she told him, laughing at how serious he actually was.
She could notice his eyes following her while she walked to the bathroom. And when she got out, he was still sitting in her bed staring at her.
"See? All good!"
"You almost fainted in front of me a couple of hours ago. Don't judge me for worrying".
"Yeah, well, migraines suck".
"I've never had one".
She frowned at him. "I hate you".
And that, finally, made him laugh.
"Rob brought me food, you can have some if you want".
"Rob?"
"A colleague from work", and then she realised what time it was. "Shit! I missed the match! What happened?"
"3-1 win for United".
"What?", she was shocked by that score. Arsenal had not lost a match this season. In fact, they had won all of them. "Who scored?"
"Ummm, two from Rashford and the other goal was scored by the new guy".
"Antony?"
"Yes, that one".
"I'm so happy for him", she said, with a huge smile on her face. He was a good friend while they both were at Ajax.
"Let's celebrate by eating".
"So, do you get these migraines often?", asked Rúben while they ate.
"Not really. I have 2, maybe 3 per year. They knock me out, though".
"Is there anything you need? Medicine or something?"
"Hydrating is the main thing and", she looked around to notice she had finished the drinks Rob brought, "I ran out of drinks. Great".
"I'll go buy more", he said, already getting up.
"Rúben, you don't have to. I can just drink water".
"No, I'll go. It's fine".
Just as he said that Lucía’s phone rang. She had many messages she still didn’t feel like answering.
"Hi, Scott. Congrats on the win!! You want to come to see me?", she looked at Rúben, who nodded. "Sure. When will you be here? Ok, see you in 10. Bye".
"I'll go get the drinks. You can let me know when he is gone and", he continued, looking away from her, "if he doesn't leave, I'll leave the bag outside of your door".
"You don't need to hide from him".
"You say that, but your face says otherwise. It's fine. I just care about you being fine".
"Rúben".
But he didn't listen. He just left, and a couple of minutes later, the doorbell rang.
"Hey".
"Hi! You don't look so bad".
"Thanks?", she laughed.
"That came out wrong. My mum used to have migraines and she looked terrible after them. I expected the same for you but you look the same. Maybe a bit paler. Have you eaten?"
"I just did. I took a nap that did wonders for me".
"Amazing", he said, giving her a hug. "Do you need help with anything?"
She thought about the plan for the rest of the day. "I need a shower. I feel gross".
"I can't help with that. Erik won't like it".
She rolled her eyes at him and laughed. "How about you take the clothes off my bed so we can put clean ones when I'm done showering?"
"Yes, Ma'am", he said with a salute.
**
"I can stay with you tonight if you want", said Scott while he helped her make the bed. "You have two spare rooms".
Her mind went to Rúben. His mood had changed when he found out Scott was coming and now this…but she wanted him to stay. The problem was she wanted Rúben there too, but that wouldn't work. How did she find herself in this situation?
"Hold that thought. I need to text someone before I forget", she told him, leaving the room.
Lucía: Scott wants to stay here to make sure I'm fine but I can tell him no.
Rúben: do you want him to stay there with you?
Lucía: I mean, it would give you a break from looking after me. You’re probably tired of me 😂
She saw the three dots showing up and disappearing multiple times until he sent a simple "ok". She didn't know what to answer back and then another text showed up telling her he was leaving the drinks by the door. It made her feel horrible for him but she hadn't done anything wrong, right?
Lucía went to tell Scott that it was ok for him to stay.
"Should we watch a movie?", he offered. And she nodded.
When she heard some noise outside the door, she ran to it.
“I’ll be back in a second, my neighbour was picking something up for me”, she told to a confused Scott.
“Ok”.
“Hey! Rúben!”
When he turned around he looked at her like a teacher who was about to scold a child. “What are you doing out of the house? Go back inside. What if you faint again?”
“I won’t. I needed to talk to you. And thank you, for everything”.
“No need to thank me, it’s just what friends do. I’m sure McTominay would have done the same if he didn’t have a match today”.
Instead of stopping to think about the meaning of his words, she just hugged him. “Thank you”.
And when she turned around, she noticed the door was closed and she didn’t have her keys.
“You’re not going inside?”, asked Rúben.
“I’m waiting until you leave so you don’t realize I’m locked out of my house and I have to ring the doorbell”.
She only heard a light chuckle and his footsteps as he went back upstairs.
**
The next morning she woke up feeling fine. A bit tired but the migraine was definitely gone.
"Morning little Lu".
"Morning Scott".
"You look good. Are you feeling better?"
"Fresh as a daisy", she smiled.
"Good. The team was falling apart without you".
"I know".
Once everything was ready, they both went to wait for the lift. And because fate seemed to want to laugh at her, when the doors opened, Rúben was there.
"Morning", she said.
"Morning", he answered back.
He and Scott looked at each other, not knowing how to react. Scott knew she had a couple of City players as neighbours, but she had never mentioned who.
"This is awkward", he said, laughing. "No offence, mate. It's just funny she lives surrounded by another team's players. She works for my team, you know? We need to find you another apartment, Lucy. Or you can move in with me".
Rúben didn't really answer. He just made a weird noise that she guessed kind of sounded like an agreement.
The door opened and they all got out quickly. Lucía noticed Scott putting his hand on her back. It was a gesture that meant nothing to them. But what would Rúben think?
She turned to look at him but found him already turning to go to his car.
"Bye! Have a good day!"
"You too", he answered without really looking at her.
**
"You ok?", was the most asked question she had that morning. Everyone was treating her like she was going to break or something. While she was still mad at herself for getting sick on matchday. She kept asking all the players for updates on their fitness but they insisted on asking about her instead.
"I'm fine, guys! Can't you see?", she said, hoping it would stop their nonsense.
"Yeah, it seems like Scotty looked after you really well", said Bruno, and Lucía could tell what he meant with his tone.
"Really funny".
"What? It's true. He ran to look after you like a knight in shining armour. Didn’t even stay for the post-match talk".
"Leave it", she heard Licha say, "you are making her uncomfortable".
She sent him a look that said thank you.
"I'm just saying that you and Scott can stop pretending. No one cares if you two are dating or doing whatever it is you’re doing".
"But we are not dating!", she said to Bruno, annoyed at him.
"Who aren't you dating?", asked Scott when he was getting closer to their table.
"You".
He laughed. "Well, yeah. I knew that much".
"Then tell your teammates. They love gossiping".
"Well, you didn't even say goodbye after the match to go to her. And you are always hugging and stuff like that. And you spent the night at her place. I don't know, you can't blame us for assuming", tried to say Bruno to defend himself.
"Yeah, I spent the night there in her spare room. I'm not going to apologize for looking after my friend", he shrugged.
“Whatever you two say”, said Bruno, not convinced.
And with that, they all moved to the next topic and left her alone…for now.
**
On the way to her apartment, Lucía changed her mind and pressed Rúben's floor on the lift instead of hers.
"Hi. What are you doing here?", he said when he opened the door.
"I wanted to clear the air between us. And to apologize just in case Scott’s comments offended you. He’s just…he says the first thing that comes to his mind without thinking".
"It's alright".
"And, you know, the next few weeks are really busy with European matches and things like that so, we won't see each other much but I just wanted to say that and see you, I guess".
"Ok".
She was about to say goodbye and leave when he finally talked. "We can see each other on Wednesday or Friday, maybe".
"Sure. I'll check my calendar and let you know", she smiled.
"And maybe we can do something outside of here?"
"What do you mean?", she was confused by his comment.
"Like, go have food somewhere. Go watch a movie. I don't know".
A part of her wanted to say yes, but it sounded too much like a proper date and the idea of it scared her. Between these walls, she felt safe. How she would feel outside remained a question mark.
"Sure. I mean, friends do that", she said with a nervous laugh.
"Yeah. Um…I need to go meet the team soon. Sorry to cut this conversation short".
"That's fine. Have a good trip and match".
"Thank you".
And after a quick stare contest, they said goodbye and she left. Even an idiot could tell that didn't go too well but what was she supposed to do? Rúben confused her a lot sometimes. And she didn't like that. She did like him, though. More and more every day. And it terrified her.
**
That next Friday Lucía met Rúben, who she hadn’t seen at all since Monday. After some debating, they decided to go to the cinema and maybe grab some food afterwards. He was buzzing after scoring his first Champions League goal and she couldn't help but love how he talked about it. Like a kid who just got his favourite toy.
“So you like horror movies?”, asked Rúben while he drove them to the cinema.
“Yes. It’s a family thing”.
Even though that sounded like the simplest comment, it made her remember how bad her relationship with her family was. They had barely talked in the last 10 years and the last time they did, her dad praised her ability to always find an excuse to avoid visiting them. But she knew how that visit would go and that she'd be much happier avoiding it until it became literally impossible to do so.
“Family tradition of watching horror movies then?”, laughed Rúben. “Your Christmases must be fun”.
Lucía just said yes and changed the subject. Talking about her family with other people was always the hardest thing to do.
The movie ended up being just alright but she had a good time watching it. It had been a while since she went to the cinema.
“Did you enjoy it?”, she asked Rúben when they both were on their way back to the car.
“Can I say no without you thinking I’m a coward? I didn’t like the jumpscares”.
That made her laugh. “It’s ok. It wasn’t great. I’ll make you a list of good horror movies that don’t just rely on silly scares”.
“Or we could watch a comedy”.
“Are you going to sleep with the lights on tonight, Dias?”, she teased him.
“I might. I'll have to hug you extra tight if I have a nightmare”.
And she had to bite her lip to not laugh at his cute reaction. The movie didn’t scare her at all.
**
The rest of the evening had gone well. But there was something about Rúben’s behaviour that made Lucía uncomfortable. And she felt bad about feeling that way in what was a stupid vicious cycle.
“Today was great, don’t you think?”, Rúben asked again when they were about to fall asleep.
“Yeah, it was fun”.
“It was. It was nice to be out together and just do things together in general, right? We should do it more often”.
“Yes”, she said, giving him the smile she knew he wanted to see before cuddling him and closing her eyes.
That night he didn’t make her sleep with the light on because he was scared about a movie, but he managed to scare her with his words.

Home For The Holidays Ace Trappola x Reader
Chapter 1
"Now listen up, you pups!" Professor Crewel shouted at his first year class. "I know full well your holiday break is when the majority of you little ones slack off, but be prepared. If any of your potionology assignments are not finished by the time the new semester comes around, you will be severely punished! I assure you, your other teachers will be just as hard on you, if you don't do their assignments as well. Now, I'll go over the schedule of what you'll need to do before going home this evening..."
"Uhg, I'm so bored of this class." A talking grey cat groaned next to me.
"I know, teach really needs to lighten up." I replied with a sigh.
"Right? The bell rang 5 minutes ago! I just wanna go home and see Ma." A boy, with a black spade birth mark on one of his eyes complained on the other side of me.
I smirked at him.
"What, Duecey boy missing his mommy that badly? You a Mama's boy? Gonna cry in her arms telling her how much you missed her?" I mocked.
"Shut up, I don't even got the energy to deal with you."
"Tch, you're no fun. Anyways, Prefect has been pretty quiet for a while n- what the!"
I turn around to where our other worldly friend sat, and low and behold-
"Dude, they're sleeping!"
"What!? Wake them up! If I'm not allowed to sleep in class, then they can't sleep in class, either!"
"Come on Grim, just let them sleep. I'm sure your stupid antics keep them up at night." I tell him.
"What!? I don't do nothin' but sleep!"
"Yeah, yeah ok, and I'm sure your snoring doesn't sound like a train wreck, either."
"Hey, I don't snore!"
"What!? Dude, I slept with you guys! You even talk in your sleep and kick too! You even bruised some of my ribs, kicking me so hard!"
As I said that, I had flashbacks to the first few days of school when I asked Prefect if I could sleep in their room with them. The housewarden of my dorm kicked me out, cause I ate a tinsey little slice of a huge tart that was made for him. He even used his signature spell named, "Off With Your Head!" to seal away my magic. Man, I'm still pretty miphed about that whole thing! I swear, if he ever pulls the same crap he did back then, I'mma slug 'im!
"Huh, really? Now I wish I was awake to see that."
"To see what?"
"To see Ace crying over some bruised ribs." Grim replied blatantly.
"I was not crying."
"Yeah you were."
"How would you have known, you were sleeping, you idiot."
"You said you were crying."
"What!? Do you got selective hearing, or something? I said it hurt, not that I was crying!" I said, giving him a weird look.
"Same thing."
"Wh- how!?"
"Oh that's right, I gotta wake up Yuu."
"Gah! Just leave them alone already!"
I try to stop Grim from jumping out of his seat and waking up the prefect, but fail, all while he scratches at my face and I start screaming at him. Yeah, I forgot class was in session for a hot second...
"Trappola, Grim, Spade is there a problem?"
The three of us jump in shock as the professor slowly calls out our last names.
"N- no sir." The three of us say in unison.
"Then you mutts wouldn't mind staying after class and cleaning everything up, am I correct?"
"Y-yes, sir." We all sighed again.
"Good. Class dismissed! The rest of you mutts are free to go."
And at that moment:
"Huh? W-what did I miss?"
The prefect woke up...
"It's about time you woke up! Now I have to stay and clean up the classroom because of you!"
"What?" They replied, disoriented.
"I didn't even say anything, why am I stuck here too?" Duece pouted.
"Trappola, once the three of you finished cleaning, come find me in the herb garden. I'll have an ointment ready for that cut of yours. For now, just use this tissue to stop the bleeding."
"Yes, sir." I sighed.
_______________________________________
As the three of us walk out of the classroom, after finish cleaning it from top to bottom, we spot the prefect waiting for us outside the door. How nice...
"So why did you three have to stay after class?" The prefect yawned.
"Because you fell asleep in class, that's why!" Grim shouted.
"Dude, quite blaming everyone for your problems!" I shout at him, holding a tissue to my bleeding face.
Duece groans from behind me.
"I didn't even say anything, why did I have to stay, too?" He cries.
"Hey, I'm not the one who fell asleep in class! Tell me, why can Yuu get away with falling asleep, when I'm the one always getting yelled at for sleeping in a class that's too boring! That's what those kinds of classes are for, ain't it?"
"Hey, you're the trouble maker here! Prefect deserves to take a break every once in a while, especially since they've got to babysit you all day!"
"I don't need no babysitter! I've been taking care of myself my whole life and I've turned out just fine!"
"Uh huh, yeah Grim, and that's why you need a babysitter."
"I'll show you, Ace! Starting today, I ain't getting no more help from anyone!" Grim declares.
"Yeah, yeah whatever you say. I gotta go take care of this cut. I'll see you back at the dorm, Duece."
After that, I went to the herb garden to find Professor Crewel.

Hello! Here's a snippet of one of my chapter drafts from my upcoming fic if anyone is curious 😊
Vlad Masters was not handsome exactly, but he was stately and elegant looking. His long silver hair was tied back in a neat ponytail and his beard was well-groomed. His suit was obviously expensive, but also tasteful and not flashy like one may expect of a billionaire. Sam figured he must have been about fifty, but looked to be in very good shape for a man of his age. His posture was impeccable.
"Ah, what a great honor it is to meet you, Samantha." He smiled, extending a hand. Sam shook it, surprised by how cold it was.
"Just Sam is fine." She corrected politely. "And the real honor is that someone as esteemed as yourself took interest in my paper." Sam added, years of her mother's high society training kicking in.
Vlad waved his hand dismissively, chuckling.
"You don't need to flatter me, dear. I'm just some rich jerk at the end of the day." His grey eyes twinkled with mirth, his smile a touch mischevious. His self-deprecation immediately won some points with her. "And anyway, I've had a keen interest in the Amity Park situation for years."
"Really?" Sam asked, curiosity piqued. "Aren't you from Wisconsin?" She asked, already knowing the answer. She had looked the man up the second he had contacted her about her paper. Apparently he was a huge Cheesehead and had unsuccessfully tried to buy the Green Bay Packers a number of times. She tried unsuccessfully to imagine this polished and distinguished man doing something so kooky.
"I am." He answered immediately. "But I went to school in Illinois." That was true too, Sam remember reading that he had graduated from business school in Chicago.
"DePaul, right?" Sam asked automatically, wincing as she realized her faux pas.
"Ahh so you've done you're research. Clever girl." He said good-naturedly. "Don't worry, I understand completely. And yes I did attend DePaul, but before that I went to University of Illinois Chicago."
"Really? I didn't know that." Sam said. She couldn't recall reading anything about that online.
"Ah, well I didn't finish my schooling there due to some health problems at the time. I ended up changing career interests anyway. " he waved a hand impassively.
"What were you studying originally?" Sam asked, interested in this new information.
"Biology." He answered, picking at a non-existent stain on his jacket. "My real interest though was ecto-biology, but that was obviously fringe at the time. So any research I did in that field was merely my own passion project. That's how I met the Fentons, you know."
Sam's heart stopped at the words.
"You knew the Fentons?" She asked, bewildered. He nodded, taking a sip from his champagne.
"Yes. They were...strange to be sure, but my impression was that they were far more brilliant than their peers and professors ever gave them credit for. Especially Maddie."
"Is that why you're so interested in Amity?" Sam asked. That made a lot of sense, if he had known the Fentons once.
"Yes, of course what happened to your town was a horrible tragedy. But as you know, no one can afford to be so invested in every single tragedy that happens throughout the years. But I feel I owe it to my former colleagues to help...clean up their legacy." He said.
Sam, being an activist with a bleeding heart, disagreed somewhat with that sentiment. But she supposed it was still a noble goal to help redeem his former's classmates reputations.
"Were you close with them?" Sam asked.
Vlad's eyes glinted.
"Once perhaps. But I hadn't talked to them in many, many years before their deaths." He said. "It's one of my regrets that we never reconnected before then."
"Truthfully..." Sam began. "I'm surprised that you miss them so much. They're not exactly remembered very fondly."
Vlad looked distant for a moment, lost in some kind of memory.
"Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes horrible, terrible mistakes. But none of us deserve to be defined by our worst moments." He said.
Sam was surprised by this man. He was not what she had expected at all. Her faith in this project and his intentions had grown signficantly during the conversation. He really seemed to care about Amity Park.
"Mr. Masters, I have to admit I was ready to dislike you." Sam said sheepishly. "I've been around a lot of so-called philanthropists, and most of them have just been men with too much money making empty promises out of boredom." Vlad studied her.
"And I'm not?" He asked slyly. Sam shook her head.
"I don't think you are." She said sincerely. Vlad studied her for a long moment.
"It was a very well-written paper, Sam." He said at long last. "That is not flattery. It really did move me." Sam was speechless at this praise, not knowing how to respond. She had published her paper mostly for herself, but the thought that it had genuinely moved someone was beyond her. Especially this influential, powerful person who had the ability to actually make a difference.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Review
I finished RDR2 a few weeks back now, so the review is long overdue. Buckle up.
Tumblr media
Unlike most games I review, I knew exactly what I was getting into when I booted up RDR2. I knew a fair amount of the story prior to playing; being one of the biggest games out there, I knew the fate of Arthur Morgan. Spoilers were inevitable. However, I did not know about his journey to that point, so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered its narrative. I tried to start this game back in July 2021, but I stopped before the first chapter ended as I didn't feel compelled by the story. With this in mind, I decided to give it another shot. If it turned out I still didn't like it, then no biggie. It's just not for me.
Story
RDR2 is a tragic story. A tale of a man who is self-loathing and morally ambiguous (depending on how you play him) who inevitably wants what's best for everyone. He is someone who cares a whole lot, and none of it is reserved for himself. His guilt for his unlawfulness rears its ugly head when he becomes ill. Making amends isn't so easy, especially when he is who he is. Not only does he have TB, but the gang is falling apart. I loved the togetherness the gang provided, especially socialising at camp. Engaging with members made the story more immersive.
Regarding the ending. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry. There's something bittersweet about his death. He knew it was coming and he never once looked behind him. He wanted desperately to see the good in Dutch, the man who raised him since he was a boy. However, Micah was a parasite that latched onto the gang, polluting Dutch. Once a man who had some form of morality to his killings was now running wild. The true TRUE ending, however, was lovely. I'm happy John managed to make it out, even if we know he doesn't stick around for much longer with the events of rdr1.
Combat
Combat was okay. I think something is satisfying about pulling the bolt and getting a clean headshot. Meanwhile, it was unforgiving in places. The trigger between interaction and open fire was a thin line. I shot people many, many times when I intended to speak with them. The gunplay is great. I love the customisation it allows you to really make the gun your own. Melee combat was something I rarely used outside of missions. Usually, it was the result of running into someone, or a bar fight that started randomly. RDR2's combat isn't the shining beacon of the game and I think it acknowledges that.
The World
This is where the bells and whistles are at. As some of you may know, I am a big fan of huge open word games. I love immersive RPGs that let you take this world and make it your own. Even if you aren't someone influential, like Jin Sakai in GOT, your actions still have an impact. And even when they do, the world still moves on without the player present. You are not the sole progressor of the world. Continuity was well established, with rewards for helping people on the road. The random encounters in this game were super fun. I also loved the amount of detail that was put into the world. The interior of the shops in particular really stood out to me. Actually picking stuff off the shelves? Unheard of. Not for Rockstar, though. Not only is the world immersive, it's also stunning. From the swamps of Saint Denis to the snow-capped peaks, it truly is breathtaking. You can tell that a lot of care was put into the creation of this map.
Final Thoughts
I love this game. Truly. It's now near the top of my list. It's an experience that I enjoyed thoroughly, and will likely return to in the distant future. There's no surprise as to why RDR2 is considered one of Rockstar's greatest accomplishments. Maybe one day GTA6 will top this masterpiece.

UPDATE - October 24, 2022
Hey folks! Here I am again with another update! It won’t be quite as long as the last one, but it’s still chock full of information. So, buckle up, buttercups!
Tumblr media
Firstly, I’m happy to report that I made it through my first week of school in tact! I’ve learned from my mistakes and have been breaking down my homework into manageable chunks, which has made it much, MUCH easier to not only get it done, but to also get some creative things done. I have two papers coming up this week, and a lot of reading on my end, so I’ll probably be busy again, not coming on unless I have enough time. I will be staying in touch with my good friends, though, so I’m not gonna COMPLETELY radio silent.
The real enemy last week was work! My schedule was all over the place, and it left me feeling pretty darn stressed out. Thankfully, I didn’t let that get in the way of my homework, but man, when I say I practically ran out the door Saturday… 😩 Good news is, I’ll be taking Friday and Saturday off so I can have some much needed rest and time to myself to take care of homework. Oh, and my parents are coming to visit, so it’ll be fun to catch up with them!
Well, that’s all that I can think of regarding life updates. Next up, I have a few cool creative ideas that I’d like to share with you all!
For starters, Blazin’ Trails is back on the horizon! I’ve been working on the final chapter for the last couple of weeks, and I’m super excited to post it! I went from having no idea where to take the story, to now wanting to spend every moment I’m not working on homework on this. There are cool cameos from certain characters, one of my favorite OCs gets a bigger role, and things will be set up to go into the next phase, which is Blazin’ Trails Redux! Ideally, I’d love to have this story’s final chapter out on November 20th, which will mark the story’s sixth anniversary, but since I’ll be working on FLaG Remastered (more on that below) for NaNoWriMo, I can’t guarantee that. If I get that out earlier, that’d be awesome as heck. But just know that I haven’t forgotten about my current longest running story.
On the topic of NaNoWriMo, I have decided to go forward with my plans to make FLaG my project. After debating on the title for ages, I finally decided to come up with a name, which is “For Love and Glory Relance”. The Relance part comes from the French “la relance”, which means “revival”. Out of all the words I could find, I figured that would fit best—not to mention be roll off the tongue easier than the French translation of Remastered! I still have a few ideas with where I would love to go with this remastered project, and similar to BT, I would love to post this story (once it’s been cleaned up, of course) on the original’s fifth anniversary. What said ideas will be, though, will be hidden until the story is officially posted!
Recently, I’ve been in a huge mood for Punkin’ Puss and Mushmouse content, including a little doodle that I’ve posted on my main blog. I’ve been rereading “Temporary Truce”, and I’m thinking that some time next year, once I finish up Big City Tabby, I want to get started on the sequel of this story, titled “A Hillcat’s Requiem”, as soon as possible! I MAY or may not put up a few rewrites of certain scenes from Temporary Truce just to give you an idea of what to expect from the sequel…not to mention to share my improvement as a writer!
I’m planning on updating my accounts soon (I’ve had the same format for the last year, lol!) to make them look better. Obviously not now, but just expect a few changes starting this week!
That’s all I have to share with you all for now! See you all soon!

hii i was thinking about your treasure series a lot recently and by chance i happened to remember what it was called (well, the treasure series) and your ao3 name and ahh i'm so happy!! your writing blew me away again even after a years of reading a lot - when i read more and more as time passes usually things i read previously and regarded to be great don't hold up well because my taste in prose characterization plot etc. changes but yours surprisingly is still enjoyable!! aghhh the ending of one to all still hits like a brick i actually shed tears this time.... also the time taken and the word count for each volume is so funny to me. i downloaded the fics to read on the way to work and the first volume is 84 pages, 3 month, 2nd volume 142 pages, also 3 months, 3rd volume 168 pages, 9 months, and 4th one a whopping 240 pages, 3 whole years lmao but but i love the huge word count cause this series is a delight
Oh man you guys have me blushing again 🥹 !!!!!
I’m so happy you were able to find and rediscover Treasure! I honestly have a similar mindset when it comes to reading stuff that hasn’t held up haha and to me, the earlier volumes and chapters can use some additional tweaking, proofreading, and minor edits but I am glad in hindsight that I left enough room to expand the universe later on without too much retconning :,) Once I (finally) finish the entire series I’ll definitely be going back in to clean it up and make the whole thing a nice lil (big) pirate epic saga 🫶
AND THE PAGE COUNT oh my word I wish I could say I was embarrassed but I just posted a 17k spinoff chapter— and that’s after I split it in half because it was getting too long. I’m so happy you find it delightful and I really hope the 5ish years of writing this series will pay off with a satisfying conclusion and that it won’t continue to take me exponentially longer to finish this thing!!
Thanks as always for being a returning reader and for your kind message anon I’m sooo spoiled and I love hearing how I made you cry hehe <3
