Y/n L/n is rarely seen walking the streets in public anymore, but that is changing following her recent breakup from longtime love Charles Leclerc.

The 12-time Grammy winner was spotted out and about in Rome just one day after her release of her new single, Reckless, which reflects on her past relationship with the formula 1 driver.

L/n was joined by celebs friends Zendaya, Tom Holland, Sabrina Carpenter, Bella Hadid, and Alexa Demie for a night out at Shari Vari Play House in Vía de' Nari, Italy.

The news of her breakup sent shockwaves on social media. Tweets and memes were made, with fans expressing their disbelief and grief

Rumors had already spread that Leclerc was seeing someone else the last few months of thosr relationship. L/n just made those rumors official last night as she delivered a tribute to Leclerc and his new girlfriend Australian Youtuber Lola Ransdell, sending the media to a frenzy.

The “Karma” hitmaker opted for a dress from Mônot’s SS22 collection, a black dress with cutouts across the chest and stomach, leaving little fabric between L/n’s collarbone and lower waist.

L/n kicked off her sold-out Eras Tour on March 17, and eagle-eyed fans noticed that Leclerc had been absent from her shows.

In case you're unfamiliar with the lore of YourShipName (portmanteau and couple name of L/n and Leclerc), you probably don't understand the distress caused by the news. For most, Leclerc is not even a household name, but for YourFandomsName, he's the titular Lover.

The Midnights singer and f1 driver started dating in 2016. Fans speculate they met at the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix based on the lyrics of Reputation cut "Dress": "Flashback to when you met me / Your buzzcut and my hair bleached." Because, you guessed it, Leclerc sported a buzzcut and L/n’s hair was bleached.

At a secret session for Reputation, Leclerc reportedly told fans that the single "Gorgeous" was about her "angel boyfriend of one year." Other tracks off of Reputation like “Delicate," "Call It What You Want," and "King Of My Heart" are also thought to be about Leclerc.

Her next album, Lover, is also understood to be about Leclerc with songs like "Paper Rings," "Cornelia Street," "Daylight," and the titular "Lover."

During quarantine the couple started collaborating creatively. Leclerc surpassed his muse status and co-wrote Folklore tracks "Exile" and "Betty,"

Evermore songs "Champagne Problems" and "Coney Island, and most recently, "Sweet Nothing" off Midnights. Other tracks on her most recent three albums canonically about Leclerc include: "Invisible String" and "Peace."

While they opted to remain very private about their romance, the couple was hit with a slew of engagement rumors throughout the course of their ill-fated romance.

"I'm aware people want to know about that side of things," Leclerc told GQ in 2018. "I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people."

L/n briefly touched on the privacy aspect of their relationship in her 2020 documentary, "Miss Americana."

"We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private," she said. "Even though [my public image in 2016] was really horrible, I was happy."

"But I wasn't happy in the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without anyone else's input. We were just... happy," the singer added.

The "Lavender Haze" songstress' exes famously include Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Pattinson, Fabian Frankel, Ben Barnes, Harry Styles, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Since adrenaline makes it easier to ignore pain, I’m wondering how severe an injury can be before adrenaline isn’t enough to allow a person to keep fighting

Fatal.

The scary thing about adrenaline is that you can suffer a mortal wound and not realize it until you drop dead. If you've ever seen the, “humans are space orcs,” meme, adrenaline is a big part of that. If you don't finish someone off, they are still a potential threat until they are clinically dead.

While it may seem slightly comical, the image of someone literally checking themselves for holes after being shot at is a real practice with genuine purpose. If they had an adrenaline rush, they might not be able to tell that they've been hit, and will need to physically examine themselves to ensure they're not bleeding to death without realizing it. (And, yes, that can absolutely happen.)

As a general rule, anything that will immediately kill someone, such as decapitation or catastrophic head trauma, will stop someone through an adrenaline rush. Destruction of the skeletal structure, (which is to say, destroying joints), might not completely stop them, but it's an injury they won't be able to power through (even if they aren't immediately aware of it.)

It's a little worse than I'm making it sound, too, because you can suffer non-fatal injuries during an adrenaline rush, and then aggravate the wound to the point that it becomes life threatening (or life-altering.) An adrenaline rush can, potentially, persist for over an hour.

In most cases, the adrenaline rush will drop off within a few minutes of the threat passing, though the state of threat is assessed by your brain, so your psychological state heavily affects that. Meaning, if you feel threatened, even if the actual danger has passed, the rush could continue (though it will usually drop off after, roughly, an hour.)

The “good” news is that an adrenaline rush will not prevent you from bleeding to death. So, if someone has been shot multiple times and is bleeding out, they'll still lose consciousness. You just need to make sure that they're actually incapacitated. Not that it matters, but as a minor up-side, adrenaline is delivered via the circulatory system, meaning if you start seriously bleeding, that's your adrenaline rush going with it, so the rush is likely to drop off prematurely in the event of fatal blood loss.

I'm not completely sure what the subjective experience is there. Catastrophic blood loss during an adrenaline rush is not something I have personal experience with, and my experiences with bleeding while dealing with an adrenaline rush is more just that bleeding is an extremely annoying inconvenience, when you don't need to consider what's happening. (To be clear, that's not just a glib dismissal, being aware of bleed was actually annoying. It might sound hilarious to be pissed off at your own blood leaking down the side of your face, but that was my experience. Also, for the record, I did not feel the gash that I was bleeding from, and angrily rubbed it a few times before realizing I'd been injured.)

The short answer to your question, “how much severely do you need to injure someone through an adrenaline rush?” You need to kill them.

That said, killing them is absolutely not your only option. Less than lethal devices, such as tasers or chemical sprays, can absolutely incapacitate someone under an adrenaline rush, without severely harming them. Similarly, restraints, and other submission techniques can be used to hold them down. In the case of restraints and submission holds, there is a danger of the individual injuring themselves, while they try to work their way out of the hold, but that risk is still vastly preferable to killing them on the spot.

Adrenaline is a very potent survival tool, in your physiology, and if you try to simply overpower that tool through direct force, it will lead to catastrophic consequences. However, alternative methods (in particular, shorting out someone's nervous system with a direct electrical charge, or simply interfering with the mechanical structure of their joints, can be just as effective at stopping them with far less dire consequences.

12. ARMENIA Brunette - "Future lover" 14th place

Very tempted to just post this meme as justification for putting Brunette here.

Like, what is Brunette if not A Neat Lady? ? She working on herself, deciding to be good, do good, look good #TeamPretty for her future lover whom she wants to kiss her face, read books with and drink smoothies with at neat cafés - it's no "Why don't you make me dizzy with all your kisses *sad synth*", but it's cute and relatable for a libretto strung together from Pinterest posts lol <3. A Presence That Was Liked (--Gretchen Jones) if ever there was.

What really pushed "Future lover" higher up my ranking though was the live, and specifically the middle section. "Future lover" is not an easy song to get into, but Brunette made it work, specifically by knocking the rap break-

AND the following dance break-

Right out of the park! Princess was eating and her song was the buffet.

And honestly that's enough for a 12th place on my list. You know me, whenever we reach a new zone, we rank the competent people first since they're the ones I have the least opinion on. Brunette is good, i submit the live in Liverpool as evidence, I 'm sure we agree on that? "Future lover" was never more than a fun filler entry for me and I don't mean that disparagingly - every contest needs their also-rans and if the entries that pad out the numbers are good themselves, the contest usually becomes more enjoyable as a whole. Brunette was part of a strong streak that ran from Alika to Pasha, and she earned her spot, by delivering a strong and inspired live that was solidly good with no drawbacks. It's not something I'm passionate about, but "Future Lover" was top shelf Fun Finale Filler, and I wish the entries near the top of the scoreboard I put below Armenia had demonstrated the same level of quality.

11. ICELAND Diljá - "Power" 27th place

For the purposes of ranking ESC, I like to clump together entries I have similar feelings for to pretend the chaotic wreck that is this blog as a minimum of consistency. In this case I've completely given up lol <3 Diljá and Brunette couldn't be less alike if they tried. Where Brunette was competent, dignified and professional, Diljá gave negative fucks about how she came across and how it affected her point total. <3

That isn't to say, I didn't enjoy "Power" for what it was because I did, a lot. Basic catchy Electropop by weird indie girls is my safe zone, and where I can fully unwind, calm down and be myself (I suppose that's the introvert equivalent to zoning out to a girlbop? You couldn't pay me to move to a Loco Loco or Slomo in public, although I like both of them). You can defo be sure that I loved "Power" for all its shortcomings and man was it flawed.

As noted pre-show the biggest threat to Diljá was Diljá herself. Now don't get me wrong - I LOVE her. I love her annoying foghorn-like personality that blasted through her rehearsal tiktoks. I love how she, when asked what the best Eurovision song of all times was, served cunt by naming herself. I love how she gave zero shits about something as trivial as qualifying, and just went all out enjoying herself via the medium of her untreated neurodivergence. And of course, most of all, I love that she completely engineered her own demise in the semi, for no reason other than that she felt like it:

Like, I'm pretty sure there's a decent chance "Power" could have qualified in that second semifinal. The target after all was Alika, who was an obvious traditional jury carry. But Diljá threw all that away when she magikarped herself to death on that turntable. 😍

she could have chosen ANY aesthetic and she chose Lucie Jones in Arthur Fleck cosplay. 😍

She could have chosen any camera angles, and went for several ones where her back was turned to the audience.

In a sense, that was the most beautiful ending one could have imagined for Diljá's journey - a villain origin story turned flesh. Diljá would always be eliminated in the semis in any contest held acrpss the multiverses and it would always be through needless self-sabotage. 😍 AND SHE ALMOST QUALIFIED IN SPITE OF IT. REST IN P-P-P-POWER, my sweet anxiety princess.

Finally have a chance to throw my thoughts together! And boy do I have them!!

Just ahshshs- lyney you’re so smart and cunning but also pretty dense my guy. I’m so glad you have moral standards but the fact your first thought when thawed!reader wants to kiss you is that ‘oh she is just drunk, :(‘ as opposed to ‘Ah! I may actually have a slight chance’ says something. I know you’re basing your thoughts on imperfect information and past experiences but please- I’m begging you- I know you have a big brain please use it-

But honestly, my heart goes out to him. In his half of the pov his pinning is so clear to see. I’m willing to bet money that Lyney would just happily accept the fact that he can interact with t!reader on some sort of positive level again, no matter if he is just a friend forever because she’s back! She’s real again, not just rose-tinted memories and this silent secret between the twins and Freminet. He is going through these extra and at times inconvenient steps just to keep her safe, even going against his own desires (letting Childe keep an eye on her while he goes to father) and even against his own loyalties to an extent ( i mean, the sensible loyal fauti thing to do would be to immediately report that the previously awol/MIA solider was found, wouldn’t it? )

ALSO THE ‘MON LAPIN’ NICKNAME!?! So many thoughts AND feelings on that!! *insert the cork board meme*

It fits so well!! I looked up some rabbit information just to see and rabbits are so skittish! I checked it out and so many things can set them off- bad experiences, new lotion smell, smelling like a different animal like a cat!! Like they not recommended to be children pets cause you gotta be gentle. But they’re so active! Not to mention herbivores!! Lyney may not know the truth but I’m sure he knows where his gift was delivered too! Thawed reader is a rabbit confirmed.

Looking outside of lyney and t!reader’s interactions though, it’s always so interesting to see t!reader’s other interactions. The obvious joy she has when she realizes Lynette showed up, and Lynette’s instant care in asking if t!reader has anywhere safe to go to. The tense somewhat friendship forming between aether and her, where a slight misstep could mean destruction of her life but there’s enough going on for minor banter and to try and help recover from a hangover (the water, and my current guess is that is the reason why her drink is different at the end) and now the beginnings of co-conspirators between Childe and her; the former laughing and seems to be almost excited while the latter is even more tense and nervous because it’s about to get a whole lot more complicated

ALSO CHILDE! SMART MAN, SO GLAD YOU’RE IN THE KNOW! Welcome to the peanut gallery of lyney and t!reader’s relationship! Hope you enjoy the show! But now that childe is officially an active player in the story, it’s making me think about the current time line and how different it’s gonna go from the canon game. As of right now, the only confirmed event from the Fontaine archon/various other quests is Lyney and Lynette’s trial since Childe has yet to be accused of anything (so we can assume that the missing people case is still ongoing) and aether is specifically doing this to see if he can trust the twins (something you can argue about him realizing via/during Lyney’s story quest). Especially know with the knaves early arrival to push things along

What the fuck how is the incest meme pairing winning over the actually canon hetero abusive relationship? Dirkrose doesnt even EXIST besides beyond canon! and even that is just implied!

Rose still has more agency than meulin and actually consents to dirks bullshit! meulin has no idea kurloz is using her! meuloz has a way worse power imbalance of a disabled lowblood woman and a manipulative highblood man! trolls dating is incestuous too! meulin is getting mindcontrolled by her ex! kurloz disabled meulin! how is any of that better????

I hate this fandom and their hypocrisy. If they win the entire poll, which they will, I hope Dirk and Rose fuck on screen next update to celebrate.

(Also katnep worse than arasol? Come the fuck on people. Aradia abandoned Sollux like three times by now. What did Karkat and Nepeta do? Treat each other nicely? And I say this as an arasol shipper)

Part of it is that Meulin and Kurloz are not important characters. Maybe important in Openbound briefly with Kurloz hypnotizing Meulin to help him as he delivers the codpieece for Gamzee. But in the end, these two trolls amount to nothing compared to characters like Meenah and Aranea. So people are likely voting DirkRose based on the current relevancy. If DirkRose does get confirmed in Beyond Canon, via update or through a news post on the website itself or Patreon, people might just use this poll as a way to show James and HICU that nobody wanted this. Not like they will listen with how much people are sick of HS2/Beyond Canon itself for different reasons. Whether some just want them to let it go and move on to different things or the fact that it was used as a money laundering scheme by Andrew Hussie at the beginning, ruined people's hopes and perception on the sequel.

Maybe some people are hung up on the fact that Karkat called Nepeta autistic as an insult, not acknowledgement of her mental disability like Hussie tried to claim in the book commentaries. But she didn't seem to mind it even after he said that and continued the RP with him. Even he still does the RP with her. Some also dislike Nepeta shipping real life people around her in quadrants, despite people like Karkat and Eridan also gossip about other people's quadrants and relationships, as seen when Eridan admitted speaking with Karkat about Kanaya's relationships and quadrants. They think her shipping her real life friends and shipping herself with Karkat is creepy. Which is why Meulin was created to flanderize that trait. The fandom doesn't take Jasprosesprite^2's word in that Karkat is obsessive and controlling as fact either (both that he is lying to get Nepeta to like him and him not mentioning who was the matesprite on the meteor. Note too this is Post Retcon. So the Vriskagram still happened).

HERE WE GO 😤🥂

when I started shipping it if I did: Not that long ago, just a couple months after I'd seen the show versions. When I first saw the show's change to make it something like an actual relationship, I thought "huh that's an interesting take". And then a few weeks later I saw some memes and art by @fishfingersandscarves that made me laugh....and then a few days later read a semi-humorous fic that still awakened Emotions and Thoughts. And then the wheels started turning in my brain and I somehow I blacked out and woke up in a pile of drafted half coherent DM metas and a whole goddamn playlist and a new set of shrimp emotions about this, so.

my thoughts: The possibilities opened up by making this an actual relationship are FASCINATING because there's so many directions you can go with this. You can lean into the tragedy and psychological horror potential still there, make it a dark comedy of this good hearted girlboss and amoral but devoted cat-spouse/catwifeband, look for the sweet moments in between the beginning and the inevitable end...there's so much you can play with.

What makes me happy about them: Unity spoke so fondly of her golden eyed stranger and you Know she had to suspect they weren't entirely who they seemed. And yet she still loved them. She probably thought they were a vampire or who knows, an actual god for all she knew and she just rolled with it. Hence why it's actually quite easy to imagine that while for their purposes Desire appeared to her mainly in the form of a man, and they probably didn't feel they should show off their true gender-transcending nature to an early-20th century gal without breaking her brain or scaring her off, they might have let slip glimpses of it, playing with gender in more understandable, to her, ways via "cross-dressing". Also because it's difficult to imagine Desire being willing to tie themselves to any one gender performance for very long. (This is fully a headcanon but it's one of my favorites.) Oh, and the fact that since their life together basically happens in the Dreaming means they can go ANYWHERE together, and they have a buffet of experiences to sample. Unity wants to go to space? They can go, Unity wants to go travel the world in dreams, the pair can do that. The opportunities are, well, endless:)

What makes me sad about them: That imo, it's totally impossible for them to have a truly happy ending, unless you're doing an au or some serious and specific canon divergence to make Desire basically come clean early or call off the whole vortex scheme somehow - or unless you can somehow completely ignore the horroresque implications of what Unity is being just straight up lied to about or not told in order to keep the happy family going. Because...Desire fully sowed the seeds of the destruction of not just their own children, or grand/greatgrandkids here but of the possibility for the relationship to last, by doing this. Even if they end up catching genuine feelings for Unity along the way - like is someone like her who loves Rose and Jed so much really going to be able to forgive that easily, if at all? Plus she's mortal, and Desire asking Death for a Hob Gadling-style boon has the teensy little problem of...risking having their sister who like Unity, is NOT stupid but UNlike Unity, knows the millions of years long track record of their bullshit, poking around and figuring out the whole plot. Which I believe is the primary unspoken threat Dream was delivering in that confrontation scene near the end. He didn't tell Death and the others about what Desire did for a reason, because if he did they would be PISSED and despite everything deep down he does love his sibling. So no matter what, this relationship was doomed from the start by the way Desire started things, or by them fathering a child with her. It has an inevitable time limit one way or the other. They painted themselves and their relationship into a corner here. Mind you, the tragedy is part of the appeal for me, I have developed a taste for problematic charismatic bitches accidentally sowing the seeds of their own downfall, getting caught in their own honeytrap, so to speak. Also there really is something to the sweet sweet irony of the idea of Desire of the Endless, who always pokes fun at how easily enslaved Dream is and mortals are by love and desire...falling into the same exact hole. But imo, in the canon universe, a tragic ending one way or the other is unavoidable. If you're doing an au or a divergent canon ofc the rules can be different.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I haven't seen it often, but if somebody includes the events as laid out in show canon and then just. Has these two meet and make up later easily no muss no fuss. I get it's about wish fulfillment (fittingly, lol) but I just don't see Unity as a character having it in her to forgive, certainly not easily, someone who whether their feelings for her end up being genuine or not, still started this as part of a plot to use their children, Desire's and Unity's descendants, as walking time bombs to get to Dream. Not without her being basically lied to forever. (Now depending on how well the fic is written it might not be a deal breaker because fam the pool of choice here is TINY. Tiny)

things I look for in fanfic: These characters to be together and finding moments of happiness, maybe in another world where things didn't get ruined from the beginning so they could end happily maybe, or explorations of the tragedy...I just want more lol, but above all I want the unconventionality and spice that would makes these two characters compelling together. Like, that unique blend of fucked-up-but-still-with-shockingly-sincere-doomed-mutual-love canon compliance OR an au where their relationship is still not exactly conventional in some way, it raises people's eyebrows but these two don't care because they're happy together, whatever they have works for them. The one thing it won't ever be is boring.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Unity and peace of mind lmfao, Desire - honestly I don't really have any other ships for them that come to mind, they're already an essay and a half's worth of character on their own *shrug* also the aro/ace/aroace Desire headcanons are equally fascinating AND imo, actually matches what we see of them in the series a lot more than you'd think.

My happily ever after for them: In an au tbh xD where they get to start on a foundation that was built on something honest and forge their own unique bond and just be who they are, together.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: At first it's mainly Unity as the little spoon but over time they switch more, Unity loves to be cuddled but also to cuddle her minx, who ofc, absolutely does not mind being spoiled

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Dancing. Attending the opera or a ballet together. Unity has a genuinely captivating passion for the arts that Desire shares and appreciates. Even if they have Opinions about when a singer/dancer is underperforming and won't hesitate to mutter comments under their breath to make Unity elbow them or start giggling to the point where if this wasn't the Dreaming they'd get kicked out of the theater.

what's wrong with you is that you made a joke post using a supernatural meme to report on a news event where over a hundred human beings died. people replied and sent asks telling you that's messed up, so now you're just being deliberately dense. we know you're just a person and not some "genius" news source. that's the point. i get that 70 notes made up mostly of spam bot likes is the most exciting thing to ever happen to you, but you have no authority, right, or reason to report on news events in any way. like what about that story made you think "i bet people want to hear about this from ME, the star of the internet, via a supernatural meme"

It's not really a joke, since the event did happen. The point of the post was not to have a laugh or invite happiness over the event, but to convey the information in a fairly concise and self-explanatory manner. The meme is fairly well known as a method of delivering news, and that's how I regard it, so I used it.

People have replied asking me if I think it's a joke, or funny, which I do not think it is. Two separate people have asked me what is wrong with me.

I don't think this is the most exciting thing to ever happen to me, and afaik this isn't even close to being a popular post for me. I don't really care if the likes are from spam bots, since I do my best to report and block any that follow me, so I can only assume they mostly come from elsewhere.

I kinda do have a right to report on things that happen in the world, though, in the same way I kinda have a right to talk about whatever I want. If I don't then I also can't talk about what I'm thinking, what I had for breakfast, or anything else in the real world. At the time I made the post, I hadn't seen anything about the attack on Tumblr yet, so I wasn't sure if anybody was aware.

My posts are, for the most part, not clinically designed to try and achieve maximal reach. I'm not particularly interested in hitting it big, this is just where I put things online that I'm thinking about, for the most part. I wasn't thinking "I bet people want to hear this from me", I was moreso thinking "I believe people usually wish to be informed about the world". It's not specifically myself that I'm interested in people knowing about or connecting to major events. Pretty much my only claim to fame or equivalent is a fairly popular vanilla extract poll.

I'm not the star of the internet and I don't want to be. I don't see why I can't inform others of news that is occuring, or why you think this is some ploy to become the internet's most Popular Tumblr blog. I'm sorry I aggravated you.

Not gonna reply to the post cuz I’m really not all that interested in the conversation. I’m just gonna rant a moment.

I am not that big of a fan of bringing up Lee beating Sasuke up like it’s a serious thing. It’s not really a “gotcha” for me lol. I kind of “scold”Lee for it.

Don’t get me wrong, it is super funny to look back on and you add the fact that Itachi and Madara looked at Gai like he’s a threat (and he is). We get the funny meme about “Uchihas don’t mess with the bowlcuts”. Haha.

But outside that…Lee came out of nowhere and was willing to kill Sasuke for his own clout, as stupid 13 year olds do with a major ass chip on their shoulder. He’s been training longer. He’s older. Sasuke rubbed him the wrong way and was also just existing being the last Uchiha so- the stupid kid with a complex did a stupid thing.

It’s hilarious but also sad.

If you weren’t all that hyped in Sasuke there is just something satisfying about an arrogant but goofy looking dork deliver in what he was boasting. Potential murder stopped then backtrack and say “well, actually I am not the strongest lol”.

Rock Lee peaked at the chunin exams. He doesn’t really become a relevant character after that. I tell people that he probably should have just died cuz he has nothing to bring, doesn’t really add on to anyone’s story either. He’s not a major player in Sakura or Neji’s story. He is stagnant and a bit static. The absolute comic relief that gets the occasional cool moment that gets upstaged by other more important people.

The Last is apparently the only considered canon Naruto movie. Well, Lee got to lead a squad of other gate users to destroy meteors. He gets a cool moment only for Sasuke to arrive and- well, you can’t have the only considered canon Naruto movie without Sasuke. Of course he stops the really big meteor that Lee couldn’t.

Like, I’m trying to just be happy that my fave can boast about punching a meteor, which in the grand scale of things in Naruto land, is near minuscule but hey! Wow he did a thing and it wasn’t “hilarious” comedy shenanigans. 🤡

He never beats his rivals. He never overcomes his master. He doesn’t have any new techniques that are his own. He, I guess, does achieve his dream. He certainly is a splendid ninja who only uses taijutsu.

Do I sound bitter? Maybe I am. I mean- it’s my fault, right? Lol my favorite character is the dude that got a goofy ass spin off series. My favorite character worked so hard. And his achievements are all: he kicked Sasuke’s chin in one time and he smacked Gaara around, oh and he survived surgery and teehee he can do drunken fist.

He is a stepping stone (haha funny joke the rock is a stone is a-) for Sasuke. And wow!!! Why wouldn’t that be frustrating???

We see this guy who barely trained a month whale on Gaara (the guy that crippled the fave) with the help of move he swiped via magic memory eyes. A move that probably took Lee a long time to hone. And I’m pretty sure (I might be wrong) he never uses those techniques again in shippuden so- that’s…that’s cool.

But sure. Rock Lee fans are bitter cuz literally the only moments their fave is relevant gets brought up a lot but hey boohoo, right? Not like Sasuke can do all this powerful shit and has a place in the bigger picture of a narrative…oh wait.

Must be nice. Not to mention the merch and everything else. But hey. I’m just bitter ass fan of a joke ass character.

EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): I’ve been writing since a year that begins with 19. I’ve come to accept I’ve been writing longer than some muns have been alive. Do not get me started on ‘back in my day’ stories about fandom and roleplaying communities.

PLATFORMS YOU’VE USED: In somewhat chronological order? AOL, Yahoo, AIM, YIM, Yahoo!Groups, Livejournal, Deadjournal/Greatestjournal, forums and emails, and tumblr. I missed the Myspace/Facebook/Twitter era of RP, mostly due to university monopolizing most of my time.

BEST EXPERIENCE: Meeting some RP friends in real life! We aren’t as close as we used to be, but I have acquaintances that I began writing with over 20 years ago, and I last saw one of them about 10 years or so. Real life jobs and new fandoms/interests/hobbies make it hard, but we stay in touch via Facebook.

RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: I have a lot of these, to be honest. Most of them I tend to just ignore the best I can, or I choose not to write with someone because of it. But the top three that annoy me (beyond formatting issues) are:

1. Not writing rules or bios and not reading rules or bios. For the most part, content and style differences can be accounted for and addressed early as long as muns both write and read rules and bios. Where bios are concerned, description definitely helps, even with ‘popular’ canon muses. It gives me an idea of how you see and describe your muse, as opposed to bullet point facts (age/race/sexual orientation/etc).

2. Muns who continuously ask for memes and new threads while not replying to any of the interactions they currently have. Mostly as this often leads to no real character growth or development and an overwhelmed mun restarting all of their interactions or the blog itself. To be fair, I understand if someone is new or has unexpected life issues that result in this: this is more for the chronic meme/thread hoarders who delete and restart constantly. I feel like those muns don’t really care for writing at all, just notifications and asks. Which is off-putting.

3. Muns who continuously ask for romantic ships while not replying to threads/interacting with blogs. This is mostly because I don’t write an insta-ship muse, I write a slow-burn muse, and generally approach romantic relationships based on threads and IC interactions: let her meet your muse first and get to know them, and see if the chemistry is there. I don’t go into writing with a mun with a romantic ship in mind, right off the bat: mostly because it’s hard to deliver with threads if my muse just isn’t feeling it.

However, I recognize it can help break the ice, and plot, for some mutuals to establish a romantic ship immediately. It just doesn’t work for my muse, and so I tend to be uninterested in writing romantic ships with blogs who continuously keep asking for them. Can’t our muses meet as friends, to start at least? ☹️

FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: Yes. I write all of these, as long as they make sense for the thread and interaction, and my writing partner is comfortable with these topics.

PLOTS OR MEMES: Also yes! I just don’t like one-liners or starter calls, mostly: I like having the guideline of a meme or a plot idea for someone before I write a starter.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Long. It’s always been that way for this blog. I use shorter replies as crack threads with mutuals, usually ones I have other established threads/interactions with.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: mid-afternoon to evening, after work and after I’ve had some caffeine in me. I’m most grouchy and tired in the morning, the entire morning.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): Sonia and I have some common interests and, since my own style veers on the side of classic, vintage, and feminine, I do style her in clothing pieces I own or would like to. We also both come from well-off families, and sometimes I throw in details or situations I’ve either seen or have heard about from others. But she’s very chipper, optimistic, and friendly, and I’m far more blunt, cynical, and sarcastic.

Sonia loves Shi.rou Emi.ya. I love Lord El-Me.lloi II. If that doesn’t show our differences, I’m not sure what does (I don’t often have anime husbandos but the grumpy professor does it for me!).

Brubabs Examination (With a Hint of Batjokes)

A while back, I answered a prompt from @multi-fandom-memes asking which I'd rather see, Brubabs or Jokebats and I don't think I properly dived into that whole can of worms, or at least I have more ideas.

Firstly, a quick recap of my thoughts on Jokebats: I don't like it.

I get that there are many versions of the characters but I like too much of the canon around Joker being a universally terrible person to get rid of it. If we get rid of the worst aspects of Joker's character we lose two of my favorite characters (Harley and Red Hood) as well as the criticism on the way heroes can be argued to create their own villains. The Joker only does things because he wants Batman's attention so in a way, everything the Joker does is Bruce's fault by association which is why the temptation of killing him is so great. It misses the point entirely to remove the one sided element of Joker's obsessive fixation and it replaces all that with an honestly pretty mediocre dynamic. Bruce and Joker are rivals because they represent the exact opposite of each other. Sanding down their edges and making them lovers removes everything interesting from their rivalry.

So anyways, with that out of the way, Brubabs. Jesus christ, where to start. Brubabs is a very complex issue, on one hand, the relationship has never been characterized as abusive or detrimental in canon (despite how obviously abusive it would be so in any realistic scenario), on the other, total annihilation of the bro code via sleeping with your son's ex-girlfriend. There's no overlap in the relationships but that doesn't make it better. Timeline is still: Barb and Dick break up, Bruce and Barb get horizontal, Bruce gets Barb preggers, Barb and Dick get back together, and Barb finds out she's pregnant and there's no way its Dick's. Still pretty bad even if there was no technical cheating.

The dynamic is alright with them being pretty default besides the obvious daddy's girl element that nobody's really explored yet (the day they do, I'll fuckin' party because that's gonna be comedy gold and neat to explore). Of course all this can be avoided if you just alter the characters in a new timeline. Get rid of Dickbarb (and with that ship name I'm eager to do so) and age up Barb. Then again, if you change characters so majorly then there's no reason to just make new characters. There's no reason this aged up Barb can't just be a new character and have the old one remain the same. It expands the DCU.
