sometimes i remember theres a new camp camp season coming and idk how to process that information. it is not every day that an old hyperfixation of yours (the strongest you've ever had by FAR) comes back with a new season after 4 years of zero news.
if they make it bad i'm disappearing into the night and embarking on a long soul searching journey where i learn how to start a bonfire with just sticks and the true meaning of friendship or whatever (the friendship in question will of course be with woodland critters and not people, as i will have no contact with other humans for a minimum of 3 years)
or maybe ill just go camping with friends for a weekend. idk

Possible or TRUE?
We finally saw the 'King's Tide' but with this we got to see a post/article about Anne and the frog invasion. Are they really in the same meta? Is this an easter? With this I've tried to make my own theory by research.
TLDR - timeline of both shows dropped, and explaining the real/possible timeline conflict of the article - I concluded that theyre in the same realm
According to wiki timeline of amphibia. It was 2019 when they got to 'Amphibia' and then it ended with more on around near mid 2020 itself. This crossover must've been not because its an easter but THEY ARE on the same universe.
By a wiki comment i found whom looked at the dates since it is apparently given, the SS1 took 2 months (65 days in exact) while season 2 could be near as (PS. this would be the confusing part) its around eps 4-10 of 1-2 weeks (11 days?) eps 1 time gap ever since the eps 19 SS1 is 1 week and a half (11days?) Which in total by our knowledge. 87 days (nearing end of 2 months). Correct me if im wrong.
"In "Reaching Out", it shows that Luz's father died on August 22, according to the calendar at the end of the episode. The calendar also shows that August 22 is a Monday, so for the calendar to be correct and in the same time frame as the modern era, The Owl House is thus set in the Summer of 2022, making Luz born in ~2008. It should be 2022, since the last time August 22 was a Monday was in 2016, and that may be too far back to be considered "appropriate for the timeline of The Owl House"."
Lets take off the 2016, the highest possibility was 2022 of Summer. The best guess we have is that luz is may be 04-06 (April 2006). Which is around Anne's age. But then again, the 2022 wouldn't make an entire sense, so we took the best guess with the most reasonable year. With this, i conclude that TOH is placed in 2020 after adding 2006 (near plausible to 2005 as well) to 14 which is Luz age. By this then. Luz is still in the boiling isle for at least 3 months or a half which is a possible time that the frog invasion is done and hence why they used young anne picture instead of the being so called a canon of 2029-2030 looks of anne (or more likely 23 yrs old anne) of the time pass of Amphibia. Yes now with the compatible years. THEY ARE IN THE SAME REALM
FIXED EXPLANATION FOR THE MONTH - If Luz is in the boiling isle for at least 3 months (and a half) once rounded up, and then they encountered the article after the frog invasion on amphibia, shes possibly in the boiling isle of summer break 2020 of January or Feb. Which the possible date of the ending of the invasion would be 2020 of March-May, this concludes the fact if they end up seeing the article then they may perhaps really be in 2020 now. The reason i whole heartedly agree on 2020 even if theres 2021 or 2022 as option is due to the fact that the creator actually gets confused at the timeline too which results to creators making their stories on current timelines, which was 2020 when TOH started. Even on gravity falls the timeline is the same year when it was released, so this isn't anything new to make for creators to be in the similar timeline. We can even take example of Amphibia whom did that due to the confusion of two inter realm, which can be confusing to create timelines, Matt said himself he gets confused. If both shows were pure fantasy they can set in any time. CUZ ITS FANTASY. But no, which is why Dana could have done the same route as Matt.
EDIT - This idea and theory is by mine, i accept getting corrected :>

TPN soundtrack
I’ve been listening to the OST very frequently again due to season 2 now being delayed until 2021 and.. hm, recent manga events. Some songs are very memorable to the point where I can see the anime scene in my head, while others had me think a bit more until a certain scene clicked. Even after re-watching the entire first season multiple times over the past year, there were still a handful of tracks from the OST that I didn't recognize at all. So, I spent an entire night watching all 12 of those episodes (yet again, because what else am i to do during this quarantine) to find where these songs might be hiding. I took note of all of the tracks actually, even those that went unused after some digging around.. and this is the result.
When & where do the wonderful songs of The Promised Neverland play?
Vol.1
Introduction: (im actually surprised how often this one is played)
EP1 (first minute) - When our favorite trio of young kids inspect the gate.
EP1  (10:48-13:10) - After the first game of tag, when the children are near the fence talking about those that left the house and their own   personal wishes.
EP3 (9:19-10:21) - While Emma finds the tracker's location on Carol.
EP6  (3:59-6:09) - When the trio learns about the clues WM left behind via morse code while Don & Gilda enter Isabella's secret room.
EP7 (3:03-4:12) - When Krone tells the kids about the chip attached to the adult's heart.
EP9 (12:52-14:50) - When Ray reveals he never experienced infantile amnesia.
As a Soft Morning Sunrise:
EP1 (2:56-4:25) - While the kids are waking up and getting ready for breakfast.
Tag:
EP1 (7:46-8:28) - While Norman is chasing after Emma. The song itself actually starts around its 40sec mark.
EP4 (5:24-6:12) - When playing tag in teams. Skips the very beginning of the song again.
Studying for Exams:
EP1 (5:13-6:21) - While taking the morning test.
Cold-hearted Isabella:
EP2 (11:25-12:20) - While Isabella questions Emma in the hallway about her odd behavior and they talk about Conny.
EP4 (15:06-16:17) - When the note about the rope is slipped under Isabella's door and Gilda goes to talk with Krone.
Training for Escape:
EP3 (14:14-15:18) - When the trio first test the children's abilities by playing tag and gives them advice.
Tight Tension:
EP1 (17:50-19:00) - When the demons are talking about the farms and we learn Isabella is an enemy.
Isabella's Lullaby: (this song is perfection!)
EP1 (14:13-14:32) - The melody is hummed by Isabella while taking Conny to the gate.
EP1 (19:53-21:20) - After Emma & Norman return to the house and get the idea to escape. The full song is played this time.
EP10 (10:32-12:50) - During Norman's shipment scene after he stops Emma from hurting herself and says goodbye to her.
EP10 (20:12-20:37) - The melody is sung briefly by Ray.
EP11 (9:54-10:19) - Isabella hums the melody again while putting the babies to sleep.
EP12  (17:31-18:20 & 18:48-19:44) - The melody is hummed by Isabella and  then Ray during the flashback. After the flashback, the melody is heard  again and then transitions into "TPN Main Theme 2."
Demon's Manifestation:
EP1 (17:40-17:49) - When the demons first appear. It actually transitions right into "Tight Tension" rather smoothly.
Emma's Sorrow:
EP4  (11:08-14:12) - When Don & Gilda are told the "truth" in the   library and join the escape plan. Continues when Ray questions Norman   after in the hallway and ends while Emma & Gilda chat in their room.
Dancing Krone:
EP3 (16:45-18:08) - While Krone joins the kids in a game of tag.
63194 (Emma’s theme): (personal favorite! i pray it plays whenever we get to the Goldy Pond arc)
EP2  (17:50-20:32) - During the trio's conversation near the wall, when   Norman gets Ray to join the escape plan despite Emma being so adamant   about not leaving any child behind.
EP8 (19:06-20:55) - After Isabella cleanly breaks Emma's leg.
Vol.2
TPN (Main Theme 1):
EP9 (16:22-18:37) - When Norman finds the pen and finally climbs the wall.
EP11  (16:57-20:10) - From the end of Norman's letter to Emma, while she   starts the fire and ends as the kids prepare to scale the wall.
GF House:
EP2 (8:19-9:22) - When Isabella returns with Naila sleeping in her arms and Norman suspects the use of tracking devices.
EP4 (8:31-9:22) - While the trio is walking up the stairs to the library before talking with Don & Gilda.
81194 (Ray's theme):
EP5 (2:41-5:29) - When Ray confirms himself as Isabella's spy.
Tension:
EP1 (16:31-16:59) - After Emma drops Little Bunny at the gate.
EP6  (7:21-9:05) - Upon Don & Gilda finding Little Bunny in the secret room along with Isabella's communicator while the trio are questioning the morse code for "promise" upstairs in the library.
EP7 (12:28-13:55) - When Krone catches Emma & Norman keeping secrets after their conversation.
EP10 (2:01-2:50) - When Norman draws out the plantation's map.
Corpse Found: ???
Unused. Yes, this track is actually different from the one played in the anime when Norman sees Conny's dead body.
Krone's Scheme:
EP3 (6:47-7:25) - While Krone is in her room talking to herself about getting Isabella fired.
EP4 (3:40-4:13) - In her room again, after being scolded by Isabella.
Existence of an Insider:
EP5  (8:40-11:06) - During the later half of Ray and Norman's conversation about Ray actually being a double agent. Continues as Ray leaves into   the hallway and shows off his wonderful slasher smile while Norman is   thinking on the bed.
Emma's Agony:
EP2 (2:45-4:42) - When Norman & Emma are talking about what they saw and heard the previous night at the gate.
EP5  (14:45-16:44) - When Emma calls Ray's bluff about him actually   accepting the idea of having everyone escape, then threatening him not   to sacrifice anyone for their sake ever again.
EP6 (11:14-12:40) - When Don confronts the trio in the dinning hall about their lies and demands the whole truth.
EP11 (3:26-5:24) - When Ray reveals his plan about setting the house on fire and suggests escaping at night.
Isabella's Lullaby (No Vocal Version): ???
Unused. It's still pretty though.
Krone on the GF String:
EP8 (6:22-9:48) - During Krone's flashbacks and her final moments.
TPN (Pf solo Version):
EP4  (18:27-21:16) - While Ray and Norman discuss a traitor's possible   motives, continues during Emma's talk with Norman about saving the   traitor, ends when Norman calls out Ray being said traitor after   discovering the rope under the bed was taken.
EP6 (17:00-18:55) -  When Emma tells Norman about a potential plan to catch Isabella   off-guard. Norman then finds the lighter fuel Ray has been hiding.
EP10 (5:09-7:50) - During Norman's flashback of when he was sick and used the cup phones to talk with Emma & Ray.
EP10 (16:52-19:16) - In the infirmary when Emma refuses Isabella's offer to become a mom.
Vol.3
TPN (Main Theme 2): (very similar to the previous main theme, but apparently this one has different cords at the end. for the life of me i honestly can't tell the difference myself)
EP12  (19:45-21:09) - While the kids are running free and Isabella returns to  Phil and the other young children. Ends as the escapees witness their  first sunrise outside.
Prison Break: (second favorite!)
EP12  (5:55-8:41) - Starts when Isabella alerts headquarters about the   escape, continues when the kids show off the training they've   accomplished in order to cross the cliff, which Don then demonstrates.
Strategy for Escape: ???
Unused. Composer Takahiro Obata imagined the trio planning their escape. (it's a shame because i actually really like this one.)
Emma's Determination:
EP6 (13:30-15:50) - After Don punches Norman & Ray. Everyone then apologizes to each other.
EP9 (9:50-11:15) - When Emma gives Ray the idea to break his arm and get sick so neither of them get shipped.
Grandma and Demons:
EP3 (10:46?  11:05-11:22) - During Isabella's nightly check in with Grandma Sarah   while the demons talk about the harvest. The first couple seconds sound different in the anime than the actual track.
EP11 (7:30-9:02) - Upon Ray pouring lighter fuel on himself.
Isabella's Lullaby (Mandolin Version):
EP12 (14:13-14:40 & 15:27-17:30) - During Isabella's flashback of Leslie.
Analysis for Escape: ???
Unused. Composer thought of the trio analyzing their situation.
22194 (Norman's theme): (if this song doesn't make you tear up, you're lying)
EP7 (5:28-7:33) - The five discussing Krone's offer about receiving more information. (i had no memory of hearing it this early, but surprise)
EP9  (5:17-6:50) - When Norman fetches a glass of water. And then drops it. Because oh god, this boy just realized that he's dying tomorrow.
EP12 (1:28-4:00) - When Phil is told the truth about the house.
Their Own Thoughts: ???
Unused. Composer thought about Conny who didn't want to leave.
Reasoning for Escape:
EP3 (4:08-5:45) - In Isabella's office when she informs Krone that some of the kids found out the secret.
Ray's Retaliation: (third favorite! i also enjoy it more than his actual theme, oops)
EP8  (13:41-15:27) - Upon Ray getting locked inside Krone's old room by   Isabella, though he eventually escapes. Ends before mother dearest   catches up with Emma & Norman at the wall.
EP11   (11:30-13:25) - When Isabella enters the burning dinning hall, while the children escape the house. Ends when poor mother finds Emma's ear and   realizes she's been fooled by a bunch of children.
TPN (Epf solo Version): ???
Unused. Played in the drama CD though, apparently?
Bonus. If you thought the lullaby was played more, then you're not entirely wrong. Many of the tracks include the same melody:
Isabella's Lullaby [all of it, of course]
Emma's Sorrow [once from 0:24, (maybe again in the middle i think?) and then 2:02]
63194 (Emma's theme) [1:35 - 2:12]
TPN (Main theme 1 & 2) [once from 1:08, then again from 2:18, and finally 3:30]
Emma's Agony [the entire song is like a slowed down version]
Isabella's Lullaby (no vocal version) [all of it]
TPN (Pf solo version) [all of it]
Prison Break [once from 0:51 then again after 1:45]
Emma's Determination [slightly at 0:26, more noticeable at 1:28]
Isabella's Lullaby (Mandolin version) [all of it]
Ray's Retaliation [1:26 - 2:18]
TPN (Epf solo version) [all of it]
So, there we go. Perhaps others might find this as interesting as I did. If not, then no big deal. It allowed me to watch season one again, so I can't complain. The wait for next season might have grown longer, but  that shall not stop me from talking about the anime. Here's hoping we can hear those unused tracks in future seasons as well.

Maou-jou 9 - 12 (FINAL) | Idolish7 s2 10 - 15 (FINAL) | SLS 2
I’ve been holding off new seasonals because of other things, but after I post this I’ll have enough time to get around to them. That’s why I can’t guarantee winter 2021 seasonal tags on this post...maybe the next one will have them...
Maou-jou 9
…it seems shopping channels even are the same in the demon world.
Now even the demons have quests! (The frame is different to the princess’s, though.)
Oh! The quest failed.
Neo Alraune: in flower language, “the 2nd coming of happiness”. The worry from a little while ago was, “I’m worried about my brother.” The worry from recently: “I didn’t think about being happy that the princess didn’t kill my brother.”
The penguin demons are pretty cute!
Don’t you know how parents forbid children from sleeping until they finish all their homework? Must be something like that.
Yoku ganbarimashita! – Syalis worked hard!
LOL, mental age: 3. Poseidon likes cute things…I can’t read a lot of this…the hardsubs cover the JPN text.
They…both succeeded! (…LOL?)
Maou-jou 10
Owarinocity = Endopolis. It’s a good equivalent, if I do say so myself.
…oh yeah. What happened to Alraune? Update: There she is!
Also, that blonde guy in the infomercials doesn’t look too bad…*makes chef’s kiss gesture with one hand* Nice.
I wonder, was Twilight once human…?
LOL, there’s a goat symbol on the cleric’s pyjamas. Also “first time”, LOL.
I think they were playing shiritori at one point.
Hanamaru saikou yoku dekimashita!
Maou-jou 11
…How does one “sleep cheerfully”, anyway?
I think I saw Twilight drop something…some kind of paper…
Aw, Twilight blushing is kinda cute!
LOL, 70s shoujo style. Also, “It cannot be!”
Whoa, she cancelled it?!
I read up on this series on TV Tropes…and apparently the Demon King captured the Princess in her sleep.
Kagemusha? Like a ninja or something?
Apparently the Demon Cleric is much older than he looks.
Ooh! Hypnos is back!
A-whatsit really is abysmal levels of stupid!!! (LOL)
Maou-jou 12 (FINAL)
Who’s that one tiny guy occupying one of the Ten Kings’ seats?
*watching after Christmas, about a week after the anime finished* This is not seasonally appropriate!
…*thinks for a second, then spits* That’s the 2nd Nemu in the fall 2020 season!!!
Ooh, the head paladin doesn’t look that bad, either.
“…is it good to be…”
“…has seized the princess!”
“…that demon king is rather cute.” – See? Someone agrees with me.
Anyways, that was a fun series. See you soon!
Idolish7 s2 10
…Back at it after so long…(I can’t help it though – Crunchyroll, per month, is about double the local Funimation sublicensor’s fees, and for much less content that’s worth my money to boot!)
I’ve always thought Momo was like Sasara (HypMic), so seeing him anguished hurts me in the kokoro too…
I know Banri was involved with Re:vale somehow…this must be it.
…Male idols are also popular among men? Is this why there are 8 (!!!) idol anime in winter 2021 alone…? (Also, that’s why HypMic became popular? Multidemographic appeal crossed over with obvious merchandising opportunities?)
It’s kind of scary how Momo stepped the formality towards Yuki like that (to -san).
I guess in his heart Momo still reveres Yuki, some way or another.
The rakugo curtain really sold the moment that they (current Re:vale) were acting like an old married couple.
Yay! Silver Sky is such a cool song! Of course I recognised the intro when it came on.
…I see. The elder Kujo is entrusting his dream to Tenn, so that’s why he banned Aya from seeing Tamaki. However, it’s hard to know what to feel when Aya speaks in the vaguest terms possible.
I think that was a special ending for only this episode. I don’t know what its name is, but I guess I might recognise it on Spotify one day.
Idolish7 s2 11
LOL, Nagi’s reaction.
Considering the ‘rona is getting worse outside our very windows as we speak (type?), I think it’s correct to be concerned about your future right now.
Looking at these narrow streets reminds me of going to eat hotpot at the end of my Japan trip…only Japanese streets look like that, I think. Hong Kong’s streets are more crowded than that and America likes their suburbia.
Of course, when you say hajimemashite (nice to meet you), someone’s gotta say it back, hence the reply.
Considering there are people all over the world watching the Idolish7 anime, I would say you are telling the world about I7, Riku.
Oh! Restart Pointer! There was an MV for that one…I think it was around the time Idolish7’s MVs started getting better.
So this is the context around the new outfits! Cool!
There have been way too many puns about “idol” being…y’know, “ai (love) doll” and stuff like that…
I have one Twitter person who I follow (DejiNyucu, part of the creative team for Autumn’s Journey) because I don’t get much I7 content and they keep mentioning this “Haruki” person…and suddenly a “Haruki the Betrayer” showed up in the graffiti…they might be the same person, I think. Not Deji, but Haruki. Update: Sakura Haruki, perhaps…?
Sougo’s such a bad liar…
Sometimes, the best way to deal with things is to be direct…(I’m not very good at that, I naturally talk in a very roundabout sort of way.)
Sougo with long hair like Yuki would be really pretty… (<- has an obvious thing for guys with long hair)
Idolish7 s2 12
Nagi’s stupid accent is generally what he’s best remembered for (for me), so seeing him speak normally, and do a press conference on top of that, is…impressive.
A kabedon on top of all this! Whoa!
Shibuya 109 parody…? (I’ve seen that once or twice – parodying that means people know their stuff about Shibuya.)
I think the “it’s overflowing!” is referring to the hype in the “room”.
…this dejected Momo is worrying…(well, he is worrying and I am worrying about him.)
Oh, I see. The person responsible typed the letter so that they couldn’t be traced back. Kind of like those old movies where the culprit would cut letters out of newspapers to make threat mail, but…with even less traces than that, because cutting letters out leaves evidence.
…wow, it took a while for this ep. to have an intro…
…LOL, I just spotted Kenjiro Tsuda cited as the “fake Zero”, meaning the real one might never show up this season.
There’s something really stupid and infectious about these managers’ enthusiasm for drinking energy drinks. It puts a goofy smile on my face.
Is Musubi Tsumugi’s mother…? Update: Yes, she is.
…Wait, so the Chiba Shizuo guy is actually important?!
Idolish7 s2 13
Whenever someone says “by the way”, it means they’re changing the subject. I hate to state to obvious, but Sougo is clearly deflecting the topic of conversation from being about him.
I wonder if this guy (Haw9) is the actual Zero graffiti vandal…?
Hmph, I didn’t realise Tenn doesn’t refer to Kujo-san as his father, but…like that (“Kujo-san”) instead.
Oh hey! These are shots from Vibrato!
Most dramas can be solved with the power of Good Communication. That includes this one.
I feel like “he has a dark side” describes both Tenn and Kujo-san.
“Everyone, remember to wash your hands and gargle thoroughly.” – This is always a good thing to remember in the time of ‘rona. Reminds me of Jakurai’s line in ARB (<- this game started just after the ‘rona came down).
What did Sougo go to uni for (what specialisation)?
Idolish7 s2 14
I just realised Banri calls Momo -kun. Hmm…
Denki = electricity, LOL.
I feel like Tenn is basically Ramuda, give or take actual pink hair…guys in musical groups with pre-existing angst that they become the “centre” of. The fact Fling Posse have Saito Soma and so do Trigger strengthens the connection.
I would watch the heck out of a musical like that! Make it come true, Idolish7! (Also, today is I7 day! I’m not much of an I7 fan outside the anime, but…that’s cool!)
That shot of them jumping! I remember seeing it on the official site before!
Idolish7 s2 15 (FINAL)
There you go! I was wondering where Banri’s injury was – that was the only bit that didn’t add up for him to be Yuki’s old partner.
Hmm…Momo is 4 years younger than Yuki but 2 years younger than Banri…
This episode has a real concert vibe to it, to the point where I got startled by how loud the yell was at one point. (Even if it is mostly stills.)
LOL, lookit Okazaki!
Apparently, if you’re a hako oshi, you like all the members of a group. Someone with a green light and a pink light likes both members of Re:vale.
LOL, Usagi for Asahi beer.
…I forgot Nagi is 19.
…Ooh, I think that’s the kid from ZOOL. No wonder they needed a season 3!
That’s all. See you next time!
SLS 2
“fine and upstanding person” – That’s…hard to believe, Hayato.
I wonder how many bois Toboso designed for SLS…?
…The episode title is actually “Blank”. Not “Break”.
One of the guys’ shirts says moteki on it. That’s a period in one’s life where one enjoys more romantic attention than usual, literally “popularity season”.
The subs missed an I, so initially I knew Kiriyama’s name as “Kiryama”.
There are meant to be 2 wings, right…?
“He who controls information controls everything, right?” – For once, I’m surprised Hayato is right (and not just in that smug way of his).
“…I’m being treated like a manager.” – But Hayato is a manager! (In a sense.)
The plait guy jumps to nicknames really fast…also, why do I get the feeling Maeshima will lose the key?
I hate to say this Maeshima, but I side with your childhood friend (Kiriyama) here. As much as the anime wants me to back you, I’m watching for everyone else at this point.
That blocky building looks pretty cool. I think Zel (Archi-Anime) would like it.
Sasugai’s setup looks pretty cool, including his chair.
…hmm, Maeshima’s like me in a sense. I learn best by copying others, but memory is my best asset. If I don’t regularly train the fundamentals, I suck at everything. That said, I don’t have an eidetic memory. Also, I didn’t quite figure out Ken = Ken(sei Maeshima) until I watched long enough to connect the dots.
LOL, Derry’s. (<- reminded of a word for “butt” <- derriere)
Well, the guy’s (Souta…?) shirt does say moteki…
Kiriyama kinda looks like Jyuto (HypMic), come to think of it…Right down to his angry streak (although Jyuto has a reputation to keep as a “cool dude”, while Kiriyama is more of a Manza (Boueibu HK) and he’s more angry than he looks).
…This ED is nothing special.
…Hmm? Is that a small Terauchi and Maeshima…?
I think I’m sold for now, but I’m rooting for the other team, not Maeshima’s…not yet, anyways.

Fear, Itself
Back over to Buffy, now, for another one-shot episode. These have habitually been where the series has hit both its biggest highs and its worst lows, though season finale arcs are the most reliably good content it produces. Hopefully, we’re heading for a high with this one. It’s a Halloween episode. That might help… the last one of those was wonderful. 1. Our Previously On is reminding us of the worst part of the most recent episode. That’s fun. 2. Oh, hey, commando guys. I could go for that plotline getting picked back up. 3. Pumpkin carving! Xander’s pumpkin is mocking him. And has self-loathing. 4. Oz made a spider. 5. Oz is also not scared of hippos in tutus, but Fantasia is scary. Night on Bald Mountain is great Halloween viewing. 6. Xander, not being in college, is out of the loop. He lied about having better things to do. 7. Buffy didn’t touch her pumpkin. Because she has had her guts ripped out and doesn’t want to inflict that on others. 8. Xander wants to smack Parker. For once, we are in agreement. Though I could also go for Angel-style photoexplosive defenestration. 9. Guy jumped out in front of Buffy in a demon mask and got punched. You shouldn’t do that in Sunnydale. You shouldn’t do that anywhere. 10. “Guest starring Kristine Sutherland.” 11. Insert complaint about them using “wicca” to describe the show’s fictional magic here. Insert it retroactively into every episode summary where they did this before. Insert it forward into every episode summary where they do it hereafter. I’m not a neopagan of any sort, so I don’t have a ton to say on the subject, but it’s not a great thing to do. 12. Willow is using college to experiment with magic. Oz is expressing concern but also being supportive. Parker is hanging out with girls in the dining hall. 13. Buffy can take a holiday from dealing with stuff. It’s Halloween. Nothing ever happens on Halloween. 14. Giles is in a racially insensitive costume. He thinks it’s festive. He cares about Halloween. He has an electronic dancing Frankenstein monster hanging from a rope. Buffy does not like his hat. 15. Giles is offering Buffy chocolate. She should take some. 16. The frat guys are setting up a haunted house. They need Oz’s help, because Halloween is about getting laid. Arbor Day is not about getting laid. 17. They’re also going to paint a mystical symbol upstairs. From an old book. Stupid frat boys. 18. Anya is visiting Xander. Xander accepts the words people say at face value, unless those words are a rejection, in which case he continues to pursue you or blackmails someone who will later become a rat to overwrite your free will. 19. Anya says that Xander has little in common with Willow and Buffy. She is right. 20. Anya and Xander have a date to the party. 21. Professor Walsh doesn’t have mercy. I’ve never seen a college professor threaten to drop a student for two unexcused absences. 22. Does Riley know that the things that go bump in the night don’t bump on Halloween? 23. Xander had a chance to defuse the plot of the episode. He got distracted by seduction grapes. 24. Now Oz cuts himself and drips blood into the magic circle. It brought a plastic spider to life. 25. Joyce is fixing Buffy’s Little Red Riding Hood hood. 26. I imagine Joyce avoids candy these days. 27. Buffy is full of sad because men are awful. 28. Joyce made no new friends their first year in Sunnydale. Then she met Pat. 29. Joyce says she will always be there for Buffy. I have no comment. 30. Now there’s people TPing campus. 31. Willow is a Crusader, and intends to axe murder Parker. 32. There is a lobster having a relationship fight with a present. 33. The eyeball grapes are eyeballs, now. Xander and Oz are bad at things. 34. Xander is James Bond. Buffy has weapons in her basket. Willow is Joan of Arc, apparently, because of that whole stake thing. 35. Oz is God. It says so on his nametag. 36. They just ran across the commando guys. Oz said they’re dressed as NATO 37. Party broke up because of the things that are happening. And I think someone died. 38. Nope. She’s still alive. 39. But someone else fell down the stairs and possibly died. A demon wants to be released. 40. “If I were Abbott and Costello, this would be fairly traumatic.” 41. There is an actual spider on Willow. But it’s a tarantula. They aren’t terribly dangerous. 42. Buffy found actual blood. And they all found bats. All kinds of bats. 43. The bats vanished. One of them turned to rubber. 44. Demon really wants to get released. 44. Anya is a bunny! 45. Bunny Anya can’t find the door. 46. And now the windows are going away. Anya does not like this. 47. Xander has turned invisible and inaudible, or something. The pop-out skeleton is alive now and has a knife. 48. Buffy killed the skeleton. She got a little cut. Nobody can perceive Xander still. 49. That was not the best comeback, Willow. 50. Now the house has split the party. 51. And Oz is starting to shift. Slowly. This is a very bad thing. 52. He scratched Willow. Now Willow is alone. 53. Oh, look. The evil face can see Xander. He can hang out with the evil face. 54. Willow summoned a light. She wants to find Oz, but indecision has got her surrounded by glowy bug things that hate her indecision. 55. Now Buffy falls into a basement. There’s sand and graves. 56. Frat boy has a broken neck and is beating on Buffy’s self esteem. And summoning death hands. 57. “We’re going to have to create a door.” “Create a door? You can do that?” “I can.” Chainsaw. 58. Are those hellhounds chasing Buffy? 59. Not hellhounds. And she got away. She’s upstairs. 60. Everyone is terrified. Things really have come apart. And everyone is hallucinating, apparently, because what was happening to them isn’t any more. 61. Oh, look, they found the mark and the book. The demon is Gachnar. 62. Giles is here, with a chainsaw. And Anya too. This is helpful. Except he reads aloud and stops talking when someone does something ill-advised. Now Buffy’s summoned Gachnar. 63. Who is about four inches tall. 64. “Xander, don’t taunt the fear demon.” “Why? Can he hurt me?” “No. It’s just tacky.” 65. Buffy squished Gachnar. 66. Buffy is having chocolate. As she should. 67. Anya is scared of bunnies. 68. The picture of Gachnar in the book was at actual size. Overall: Was having the demon be tiny part of the original idea for the episode and they threw in all the terror and death and general mayhem to build to that moment, or was it a way out without going over their allotted time for the episode? Either way, it worked, though it’s a little strange to be giggling madly at a being that managed to murder at least one person and horribly traumatize dozens of others. I enjoyed that. It was a horror episode with a comedy climax, and was oddly satisfying. I think I’m done with TV blogging for the night. I’m seriously not looking forward to the next episode of Angel.
