I am curious. What r your top five video games
WHOOPS I only just saw this now lmfao sorry
I'll stick to one game per franchise but u can assume im recommending the whole series
5. Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
One of my two biggest childhood influences. Ps1/PC puzzle/platformer/adventure game about a funny blue guy escaping from slavery when he discovers his whole race is about to get butchered and sold as food products. Gets back in touch with his native roots and gets granted spiritual powers to help him free his fellow captives and topple capitalism while killing hundreds of cops along the way. There's no guns but there are grenades occasionally. Or you can possess the cops and make them use their guns to kill other cops. And then blow themselves up. Has a ton of sequels and a couple remakes, ports and remasters on PC and just about every other console. Cannot recommend enough. Also you can fart on command this game has a dedicated Fart button you use it for communicating (and then in the sequel you can possess farts too)
4. Myst
The other childhood influence. This game and whole series made me a huge wanderlust slut. Point and click adventure, puzzle solving, world exploring, journal reading. Some puzzles will definitely have you Stumped (but feel free to hmu bc I still have the first game memorised like the back of my hand and am happy to offer guidance ^^) my fave is actually the third game Exile, but I gotta pay respect to the OG. It's full of images and sound effects that remain engraved in my brain in vivid detail 20+ years later
3. Bloodborne
I'm actually not talking abt the whole "series" here I dont rly care much for dark souls etc. It's just this one lmao. Love the tone, love the gameplay, love the level design, love all the horrid monster designs. Love the Rally mechanic discouraging you from hiding and playing safe when you should be going full throttle wailing on everything as fast as possible. I love learning to party attacks with a firearm instead of a shield. I love the blood vials system. I love the doll I love Eileen the crow I love lady Maria I love all the funny little creachurs and most of all I love dying and being dead
2. Final Fantasy V
This ones kinda personal and maybe a bias I guess but idk this was my first FF and even now when I go back to it it just Hits Different somehow. Maybe it's nostalgia/bias but even comparing it to the other pre-ps1 FFs it's just got this vibe of its own. The music helps ofc the music is so fuckin good esp the new pixel remaster arramgements. Anyway it's a nice fun story about Four Complete Randos And Their Grandpa And Pet Chicken And Pet Dragon And Pet Sea Serpent And A Gay Pirate Gang And A Furry And Also A Tortoise At One Point who fight against a Giant Evil Tree that spent like a hundred years absorbing all of the most Evil souls in the world and now he wears a big blue suit of armour and calls himself Exdeath. He wants to conquer and kill and maim and destroy and eventually suck the entire world into The Void for no other reason than he's evil and loves being evil and badass. Not a whole ton of complex plot depth but that's why it's so approachable as a FF game. Also this game is where Gilgamesh and Battle on the Big Bridge came from, plus Omega and Shinryu, so if you like those then you're obligated to play this one. Also one of the main characters is a genderfluid twink with a thing for silver foxes and another is a non-binary/transmasc pirate
1. Kingdom Hearts
I couldn't not lmao. The entire series Of Course but also in this case I specifically mean the first one. Again it might be nostalgia bias but the first KH just has this unique charm to it, this warm atmosphere that none of the others have been able to replicate. Traverse town feels like a second home to me

for the ask meme: 15, 17, 28
hi anon!! . 15. which two games do you think would make an awesome crossover?
one of my favorite past times is saying random things should be in kh4, half the time just bc itd be funny and immensely amusing. halfjoking options include danganronpa (obv), jojo's bizarre adventure (not a game persay but i think dio's mansion would be silly), and gackt (i know he's a person but he'd be a fascinating npc and i think squeenix and disney are not above adding him). i think more ff characters in kh would also be neat.... rinoa, the ff xiii cast, and the chocobros come 2 mind. i hate the disneyfication of star wars but if they havent added star wars into kh yet, then i think they should. if disney is gonna own sw they owe me this at least (*points to self* said by a guy who has not played a single kingdom heart. ill fix that i promise)
.
17. what game do you never tell people you play?
hm... probably also atelier? i like the franchise from what i've seen, i just haven't talked about them much. i don't think i've talked about tes: oblivion here much even though thats the video game title ive put the most hours into. it got to the point where i decided that despite only ever getting thru 2 guilds in my numerous playthrus, i had seen what i wanted to see, so i became a merchant? kind of? please ask me about my oblivion experience where i go around selling books for dozens of hours
.
28. which character's clothes do you wish you owned the most?
in the prev ask i talked about characters id dress like in day to day life, so for this one ill talk about designs id love to cosplay. first of all, the protagonist from persona 5; i love pretty much all of his designs and it helps that the school uniform is absolutely balling. i need to buy more turtlenecks and plaid. also his joker design is so very gender. naoto persona 4 ALSO has delirious amounts of gender, so shoutout to them.
next in line; im sorry, i dont even play genshin, but i love half of the designs and they look like they'd be so fun to wear. genshin cosplays are cheap enough that ive contemplated cosplaying zhongli/xiao/itto/kaeya/diluc/albedo/etc just bc itd be fun to look like them, and also bc i think itd be funny to see how long i could go without alerting ppl to the fact that i havent played these games. once fandoms get that big, fanon kind of consumes canon anyways, so i wonder how long i could hang out with people without anyone noticing??? anyways

(1) Your post is SO TRUE. When I see posts about kids crying bc Tony died, there's always a slew of comments saying, "Well, the movie is 13+! Why are you taking kids to do see it?" and, nah. Fuck that. I don't even like kids, but I feel SO BAD FOR THEM. LBR: MCU is marketed as family movies. Let's not pretend that they aren't, because we aren't idiots here. Disney knows the impact heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman, etc. have. There's literally tons of MCU merch made FOR KIDS.
(2) People being dismissive about why kids and/or other people who looked up to Tony are terrible. Like you said, there’s ill people (mentally and/or physically) who he gave hope to. I mean, I know it’s not healthy to place your mental health on these characters, but the fact remains that these heroes help people/kids. They see them through on dark days! What kinda message is it that Tony died, considering how hard he’s fought his whole life? It’s sickening how some people dismiss that. (3) Sorry, last message, but I ran out of room and just wanted to say that other anon’s ask about how there are kids out there who’ve literally only ever known Iron Man being alive and fighting the good fight on screen as a hero broke my heart. IM1 was released 11yrs ago … there’re 11yr olds + younger kids who LITERALLY grew up with him and saw him die. Again, this is from someone who doesn’t even LIKE kids, but how does something like that not break a person’s heart? Okay, now I’m done lol
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
Sorry other Anon but almost all live action movies are rated PG-13. Ratings means very little here. They want a wide demographic audience. 90% of the promotional stuff I see for the movie is directed towards kids. The advertisement primarily plays on kids TV channels. The characters are on juice boxes & fruit snacks, they’re constantly promoting Avengers toys on every channel. Come on, of course kids love these characters & of course parents wouldn’t mind. The ending was unexpectedly tragic.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
Yes you go into to Disney store, it’s all Avengers merchandises, and toys and merchandises are actually making way way more money than box office, like $41 billions in 2013, I can only see the numbers going up and up, they target the kids and family with their heroes there’s no denying it, kids look up to their heroes and it’s exactly what they’re aiming for. They put kids characters in their movies, Iron Man 3, Ant man, Captain Marvel, and they always feature kids fans in their movies too. So when the whole franchise is targeting your kids, why would you think you can’t take them to a Marvel movie, like the second anon said, PG13 in general never mean WARNING DONT WATCH WITH KIDS, people really can’t fault the parents for bring their kids to an Avengers movie and have their kids crying and seriously upset, because people never anticipate that from Marvel.
I just don’t get why people would rather dismiss someone else’s sadness and pain than to acknowledge it?? ‘Im sad that kids are upset but they shouldnt see the movie in the first place’ like the thing is, no one would have thought Marvel would pull the rug under, it’s a trust that audience has build over the years based on all previous movies, kids have every rights to be upset and their reactions shouldn’t be dismissed, no one should say you shouldn’t have watched the movie…. they are their target customers ffs
