A shaky breath left your lips as you stood at the white apartment door with a custom wooden welcome sign on it. You had just arrived home from a long business trip abroad, but you didn’t think it would be hard to enter your shared space with your girlfriend. 

You gripped the handle of your suitcase while holding your key card up to the secure door. One of the many things about living with someone who has such a large name, the security measures of your living space is very high. 

You sighed, rolling your tense shoulders, before swiping your card to unlock the door. Pushing it open, your dragged your luggage inside, kicking the door closed behind you. You inhaled the familiar scent of home, consisting of lavender and white chocolate. 

As you moved further inside your apartment, the realization of finally being home slowly came to. Your tired eyes glazed over the comfy living space, your lips twitching seeing the slightly golden glow of the summer sun. 

You found yourself dragging your feet to your bedroom, the noise of a very intense valorant game could be faintly heard from the streaming room down the hall. You let out a yawn, setting your bag neatly on the foot of the bed so you could unpack your clothes with ease. 

As you unpacked, your new kitten Beau curled up next to your suitcase, watching you with his blue eyes. You smiled meekly and reached over to pet him, your fingers gently scratching behind his ears. 

“I missed you too, bud.” You said as he purred deeply.

Eventually, you finished your unpacking and put your bags away in the large walk-in closet that you shared with your infamous girlfriend. You looked on her side of the closet, squinting slightly at the section devoted to her fluffy sweaters. 

One stood out to you, a large grey, white, and blue long sleeve with the word POKI written on the front. It was her merchandise, ironically your favorite of her clothes, and you always found yourself ‘borrowing’ it from her. Like right now, you had pulled the article over your head, relishing the soft fabric rubbing your skin. 

You eventually left the closet, walking back through the bedroom and into the hallway. A voice could be heard, along with laughter that made you light headed. Your hands gripped the neck of the sweatshirt as you brought it up to your face, smelling the calming aroma of your significant other. 

You glanced at the photos on the wall as you made your way towards the streaming room. The moments frozen in time showed you with your friends, and her with her friend. The youthful smile on her face seemed to glow and radiate happiness out of the picture. 

Your legs brought you to the door, but you paused before entering. You could hear your girlfriend yelling in frustration as her game commenced, probably annoyed with a stream sniper spawn killing her. 

“Why can’t we just be left alone?!” She whined before laughing in a playful way. 

A faint response could be heard, probably from her other teammates on a discord call. You closed your eyes, quickly basking in the sound of her voice, before quietly opening her door to reveal a sight you could never get tired of. 

There, curled up gently in her chair, was Imane. She was dressed in black leggings and a pink lilypichu hoodie with the words “stay comfy” written in black on the front. Her feet were tucked under her legs, the flufffy grey socks she wore peaking out. 

You watched in awe as she laughed and cursed out the screen as she died again, her frustration clear. Her voice was blurred out as your eyes shamelessly scanned her face, lingering on the specifics. 

You could mesmerize her easily, like with how the way her nose scrunches up when she giggles, or how her cheeks were a rosy color from all the yelling she is doing. Her honey brown eyes glowed with warmth while she talked to her chat, commenting on how they gave her tips. 

You cleared your throat, hoping to get her attention without having to go in the cameras view or hearing, but you were unsuccessful. Glancing around, you couldn’t seem to find a solution to catch her eye, so you opted for plan B, you would have to interrupt. 

You waited patiently, watching her close out the game to just chill with her fans for the next half-hour. She talked for a bit, then paused to drink some water.

‘This is my chance’ you thought.

You slid forward, silently making your way over to greet her. As soon as she st her bottle down, you made your move. Reaching out to turn her chair, which made her squeak in fear, you quickly fell into her lap and buried your face into her neck.  

For a moment, the world was still; your arms wrapped around her neck as you finally felt at peace. You were home, and you had her back. 

“Oh my god Y/n.” Imane gasped, immediately pulling you closer to her. 

You sighed in contentment, your y/c eyes trailing over the joyous chat messages. Everyone was either shocked or excited to see you, the screen being spammed with ‘omg Y/n’ or ‘wait what she’s back’ and even ‘lmfao poki squealed’

“God i missed you.” You mumbled, pressing a kiss to her exposed shoulder. 

“Me too! You are never leaving me for that long ever again.” She declared, tightly wounding her arms around your waist. 

You giggled at her statement but nodded feverishly in agreement, shivering in her embrace. Imane kissed your cheek, nuzzling her face against yours in an attempt to make you warmer. You started to get comfortable until you heard the sound of a subscription ping, which made you jump. 

“Oof sorry love, i forgot about the stream.” Imane whispered into your hair, holding you tightly. 

She reached over to her mouse, saying a quick goodbye and a wave, before ending the stream. She stood up, gently setting you on your feet whilst taking your hand. The two of you made your way to the living room, where you ended up curling up on the couch while watching some cop show. 

You felt content, especially while the summer sun glowed on your happy life.
