The Beauty of Perugia. A Vibrant, Medieval, and Unforgettable City! Perugia is the capital city of Umbria and the largest walled medieval city in Italy. A beautiful and lively ancient hilltop town with magnificent views and that contains treasures of architecture, art, and history spanning several centuries. Stunning cathedrals, churches and various public buildings will leave you breathless. Perugia is also famous for chocolate, mostly ‘Baci’ (‘kisses in English), which are found around the world. My family and I decided to spend our Sunday in Perugia, taking a stroll and exploring the town and its Sunday street markets. You can’t help but fall in love with this vibrant city, its cultural offerings, beautiful atmosphere, and lovely people. The beauty that surrounds this city is incredibly mesmerizing. So much so that I did not see the sidewalk in front of me and fell to the ground. Within seconds 5 people came to my rescue and within 2 minute I had water and ice packs on my knees. And since my shoe fell apart from the fall, they made sure that I found a store to purchase a new pair of shoes. Truly, a day to remember on so many different levels. Our group joining us this coming October will have some free time to visit other beautiful towns in both Tuscany and Umbria.
