Character Card for my first generation of the Into the Forest legacy challenge by @boobpancakes ❣️

Their introduction to the legacy was so inspiring to me and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

This is my lovebug Jalisa (Jay is her nickname) and I fell in love with her as I was making her and her backstory. The color for this generation is white but I also think purple is one of her faves. It just came together when I was creating her outfits and I like the idea of having my own secondary color to the one for each gen.

I plan to do a lookbook of all of her outfits soon 🤞🏽

Also thank you for all the love on my first post. I am enjoying exploring all of your stories and creations so much. The simblr community really is special, I can already tell I'm going to love it here <3

Hello after a longtime coming I finally completed my save file for Hylewood. i'd say its been almost 2years on and off and I hope you enjoy it : ]

Things to know about the world

7 households (14 sims) + 9 npc's i placed for work (23 sims total)

3 empty residential lots & 1 house that has no sim so move in or bulldoze

the sims come with skills and a job so yay

has all your basic rabbitholes + gypsy wagon

it has a consignment shop , festival ground , campground , park , garden area, somewhat of a beach , bar , gym/cafe

lots i didn't make : Planet wobbit by NapoleonFrost ,Joes corner by Everlasting garden and a house by pixelbots

the library is connected to the bookstore/spa so you will have to actually go to the lot to see it.

forgot to mention this world is probably good for at least a generation or two

when it comes to ep i used everything the original world uses however at the end of me checking everything i realized the npc house i added into the future bunk beds so if you dont have it its fine. other than that i used every expansion pack ...exclude itf lol

there was cc used i put it in the downloads folder theres a unmerged version and a merged just incase you have something i used and dont wanna mess up the game .

Hello and welcome to my new legacy challenge - The ‘This is Your Life Challenge’ ! I was looking for a new challenge to do but none of the challenges out there were really grabbing so I thought “Why not make my own?” and here we are!

Basic Rules

Have at least one kid per generation.

Money cheats can be used, but not excessively!

You can live wherever you’d like unless stated otherwise in the gen rules!

You do not need to use all of the recommended traits per generation, though it is advised to make sure your heir has 1-2 of them.

Most importantly have fun!

Generation 1

‘Every legacy starts somewhere and this one just so happens to start in the future!’

Recommended traits: Eccentric, Friendly, Genius, Bot Fan

Live in Oasis Landing (ITF Required), Lunar Lakes, or Oasis Landing Updated.

Reach Level 10 of the Inventor career.

Max Logic and Inventing skills.

Have at least 10 friends.

Never get married, dedicate your life to your craft and making friends.

At a party meet someone with whom you have a one night stand with which results in a pregnancy (your heir).

At the end of the generation, you and/or your heir must travel to the present the past. How you do this is up to you!

Generation 2

‘Well you did it - you made it to the past! Or should that be the present? This world is unlike the one you grew up in. There is so much to see, so much to explore, so much to TRY!’

Recommended traits: childish, flirty, friendly, easily impressed

You and your parent (if they came with you) make it to the past. What world you live in is completely up to you!

Become a jack of all trades, unable to settle in one career for long. In your life, you must reach level five in at least four different careers.

Master between 3 - 4 skills, or more if you choose!

Have multiple lovers throughout your life.

Have children with two different partners.

(Optional) Get Married.

Generation 3

‘Unlike your parent, you could never imagine hopping from job to job, unable to find your true purpose in life. As a teenager, you start picking up after school jobs and quickly develop a strong work ethic. As an adult, you throw yourself headfirst into your career and don’t look back.’

Recommended traits: charismatic, workaholic, grumpy, genius, loner, ambitious, proper

Attend University (optional)

Reach level 10 of one of the following careers: business, journalism, politics.

Master the charisma skill and have at least ten good/best friends.

Throw a party during every season.

Complete one of the following lifetime wishes: CEO of a Mega Corporation, Star News Anchor, Leader of the Free World, Super Popular.

Marry a colleague as a YA and have a child/children. Divorce them as an adult.

Have good relationships with your child/children. Teach them all their skills and sign them up for after school classes.

Generation 4

‘Your parents were both exceptionally hard workers. You? Not so much. They tried of course but nothing ever worked. Ironic then, that for someone who hates work so much, you love the finer things in life and spending your parent’s hard-earned wealth. If only making your own money wasn’t such a hassle…’

Recommended traits: flirty, irresistible, slob, schmoozer, snob

Move to or own a ranch or farm worth more than 100, 000 simoleons.

Master the nectar making, mixology, and social networking skills.

Own two businesses around town.

Marry a wealthy sim and have them mysteriously die from unknown circumstances.

Do not teach your child/children any of their skills.

When your child/children become a teenager, they move back in with their grandparent from the previous generation.

Generation 5

‘As a teenager, you moved in with your grandparent in an effort to spare you from your surviving parent’s lazy parenting style. You’ve been told it’s for the best and it certainly seems better - at least your grandparent actually gives you attention. Perhaps a little too much actually. Wanting to break away from their strict rules you start acting out more and more, pulling pranks, staying out late, egging people’s houses, stealing - wait what? Oh well. You know what they say, every family has a bad seed and I guess you’re it.’

Recommended traits: rebellious, evil, grumpy, mooch, kleptomaniac, mean-spirited

Start acting out as a teenager.

Reach level 10 of the Criminal career.

Complete one of the following lifetime wishes: Possession is Nine Tenths of the Law, Emperor of Evil, Become a Master Thief, Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous

Make at least ten enemies.

Have at least 100, 000 simoleons in household funds.

Have two children: one just like you, and one who is the complete opposite (this will be your heir).

Generation 6

‘People always ask you what your family is like and you’ve gotten pretty good at deftly avoiding this question. It’s not that you don’t love your family - because you do - but how are you supposed to explain to people that most of them are master criminals? Once you’re old enough you move to a house of your own and jump into one of the many professions available to you.’

Recommended traits: bookworm, shy, good, family-oriented, friendly, lucky

Marry a childhood best friend.

Join one of the active careers/professions and master any of the skills associated with it.

(optional) Visit each travel location at least once.

Have a child/children.

Generation 7

‘You grew up in a happy and loving home, a far cry from your parent’s upbringing. From a young age, you’ve been into music. Like really into music. You love to listen to music and you’d love to make music. As a teenager, you decide to make that dream come true and form a band with your closest friends.’

Recommended traits: artistic, virtuoso, star quality, natural-born performer, night owl

Form a band as a teenager.

Master 2 - 3 skills from the following: guitar, drums, piano, bass, violin (downloaded through the store).

Become famous.

Have a child with another celebrity but after you get pregnant never see them again.

Have two failed relationships before finding the one.

Generation 8

‘Life is good. And then the next moment it isn’t. As a child of a celebrity, you have been in the limelight from a young age - whether you wanted it or not. After you experience a terrible breakup, the paparazzi are there to capture it in all of its ugly glory, and to your horror, that’s all anyone wants to talk about. You decide you need to get away - far away - to a place where no one knows your name or who your parents are. You’ve heard stories of a mysterious machine your family storage that could do what you want and take you far away. Perhaps it’s worth looking into it?’

Recommended traits: none for this generation!

Using the mysterious portal in your family inventory you travel to Oasis Landing.

Master the Advanced Technology and Laser Rhythm-a-con skills.

Marry someone from the future.

Own a plumbot.

Have at least one child.

Thank you nonny, these are some good questions!

1. Which is your favorite Sims Expansion?

Answered, but my second favourite after ITF... hmmm. From what I've played, it's gotta be World Adventures because I've always had a lot of fun in those worlds. France and China were crucial in gen 2 and 3 of the Twinkles, and some future events in the other legacy will be in Egypt! Also... I'm not that into ts4 expansions but I had a passing thought that if I had Strangerville, I'd really enjoy it because that's my kind of thing.

13. What are your favorite Sim names?

Ohhh, I like all names that I give to my sims more or less. Sometimes I grow to like the name thanks to a specific sim (hi Einstein. I actually like this name now. Should I name my future kid Einstein?). I'll try to mention some sim names I used in different legacies that I really like: Jaivati, Clarissa, Ambrosia, Carnelian, Nathaniel, Kyle, Aimee, Lennon, Marnie... I can go on forever. I also like some spoilery names that I'm really in love with, but the characters haven't been introduced yet, or I just don't have anyone to use the name on. In general, I’m kind of a name addict! I’m always weirdly thrilled to meet a new person and learn their name, especially when they have an unusual one.

18. What is your favorite Sims Challenge?

Obviously legacy challenge (though it does have pros and cons, and I sometimes wish I just had a set of characters in the same timeline who I can do whatever I want with and not be limited by the legacy restrictions/stress out over how my legacies connect with each other and other people's/suffer because of inability to introduce sims from different generations to each other/etc.). I really enjoy playing my berry pastel rainbowcy, so I'd say it's my favourite challenge. I've seen so many creative takes on it.

25. What are you planning to do next in the Sims?

You know how people lack inspiration? I have an opposite problem, I've got way too much, more than I can handle. I could gladly share it 😂 I'm planning to reach gen 4 in the Twinkles soon (in terms of posting, I've already reached it in game!), draft my Maple stuff (I've been playing them over the weekend and omg I can't wait for everyone to see these posts), perhaps progress with Fletcher reboot because strangely I haven't touched it in almost half a year (yeah, the posts you've seen were backlog, I played a lot at the beginning. And it's not like I don't want to play this legacy - I do, but something always goes down that prevents me from it), and finally, do some cool ass things in the Lilygreens which were supposed to be chill but boom, they're officially another storytelling legacy. Also, I mentioned recently that I'd love to do something Futuristic Lover related one day, but am not quite sure what exactly. Oh yeah, worth to mention that I had an idea a few weeks ago to start a sort of a story/gameplay with some of my older sims but I'm not too certain about it simply because I don't have time for everything and my ideas for it aren't too consistent. Actually, I often think back to older sims and get so many new ideas and... I told you, I have an inspiration overdose.

Meet the Forrests

Neva Forrest is the heir of this story; she is naturally high-maintenance and a romantic in her own right. A miracle baby born when her mother was 38, it's easy to say that she has been spoiled to the point of being a little rotten. Naturally non-committal, she is known in school as a bit of an ice queen. It's just that love isn't really for her, she is more than happy to just bask in others' attention. In fact, that's kind of the only thing she craves.

Lily Forrest (nee al-Mahmoud) was a former tech developer who was forced into retirement due to health complications following her late pregnancy which caused her to have an extended stay in hospice. She still gives interviews to tech mags whenever she can and teaches at the local community college when she is feeling healthy. She is a hard-working woman who was the first in her family to attend and graduate not only high school, but college. She dreams of having her daughter follow in her footsteps.

Theodore is a real estate magnate whose favorite thing in life is doting on his beautiful wife and his adorable baby girl. He owns most of the land in Windbrook and has connections in places he would rather his family not know. He enjoys taking the people he loves on lavish trips and gives his love freely to the select few who deserve it. He doesn't have many goals for Neva in mind, he just wants her to be successful and make smart decisions (lol).

Jay has officially moved out of her parent's mansion in the hills of Del Sol for a small apartment near downtown in Mirage Park. Even though she is scared and by herself she has no intention of ending up back at her parents. Her father hasn't said a word to her since she decided to move but her mom still talks to her whenever she gets the chance.

My OFFICIAL Best/Worst TS3 EPs - REVISED 2019

I did a 2014 Sims 3 countdown list here, but since then I’ve played a lot more, and changed my mind about a few things. (Except the SPs -- I stick by what I said about those.)

Disclaimer: My “best/worst” is really just my personal favorites, with no real bearing on how well I think EA actually created the game, the quality vs quantity, how they executed the concepts, or anything like that.

With that said, let’s go Worst to Best this time! >:D

11 - Late Night: My opinion hasn’t really changed; if anything it’s gotten worse, especially after Boroughsburg went and dookied all over Bridgeport. XD

10 - Island Paradise: I’ve yet to even touch Isla Paradiso (I plan to...eventually), but the mermaids are meh & I was bored underwater (there’s not much to do); I don’t give a eff about resorts; and though I really like all the boats, they’re a EFFING HEADACHE to route & control. The new collectibles & items are cool, but I don’t feel my gameplay expanded all that much, as most of those objects are just a new, more colorful/tropical coat of paint on the regular stuff we already have. (Formerly #9)

9 - Generations: A huge expansion, yes, but when I’m not playing with kids (which is most of the time, outside of my Malec gameplays), I sometimes forget this pack exists. I disabled Memories & Imaginary Friends almost as soon as I installed Gen, and Story Progression on Day 1, so all I ever really use is the toys. It REALLY should’ve been basegame, or added in a free patch the way the TS4 Toddlers stuff was. Especially considering it didn’t include a new world to play in. And for all its claims, it effing ignored Elders, lbr. The new CAS & Build/Buy items get the most use from me by far, and the new sorting/filtering systems they added. (Formerly #7)

8 - University: I have zero intention of ever using the university mechanics, or going to the world at all (RL school already traumatized me enough; thanks). But I really like the Plantsims (a heck of a lot more than Mersims), and again, the collectibles & new CAS/Build/Buy items are the coolest part for me. I LOVE the harvestables, possibly even more than the ones in Supernatural. And the Buy Mode objects are effing cool -- the wealth of hobbies & skills stuff especially. 

7 - Showtime: My feelings about SHT have been conflicted since it was first announced. I still feel like it’s an expansion of an expansion (*cough* Late Night *cough* cuz it needed one -- or two *cough* Supernatural *cough* -- I’m ALLERGIC to EA’s BS!). I never used Simport, I don’t like Katy Perry, the Genie lifestate is glaringly out of place, and Starlit Shores is just ok. But the keeper for me is hands down the new professions, particularly the Magician, and I absolutely LOVE the CAS & Build/Buy items. (Formerly #6)

6 - Pets: I. Am. IMPRESSED. I think this is possibly the second best EP in the whole game (the best =/= my favorite). I’ve owned Pets & IP for years, though I was never able to run them on my old laptop, and had to wait till late 2017 before I got a new one with better specs. While IP was a letdown for me, Pets certainly isn’t; it’s so cool having pets & wildlife in the game! (Formerly #10)

—The rest I didn’t change my original ranking for, I just have more to say—

5 - Seasons: Still the best, most well-made EP out of the bunch (which says a lot, cuz it had its flaws, too). Winter is still my favorite (which is ironic, cuz I effing hate snow & cold IRL), but I still think the “holidays” mechanics & content are really bad -- EA was so busy trying to be politically correct that they watered down each and every one. At least small yet welcome additions/improvements were made in TS4, but TS2 still had the best, IMO. I miss Father Time. 

4 - Into the Future: A STAPLE for sci-fi gameplay, along with Showtime & Ambitions (and Seasons, for sneaking in the Aliens for no effing reason). But I am SO IN LOVE with the Build/Buy items, that I use them all the time. (I frikkin hate a lot of the CAS nightmare fuel, though.)

3 - World Adventures: I get tempted to bump WA up to #2, but I honestly don’t use the tomb exploration much at all, the mummies scare me, and I never cared for Champs les Sims; I think Monte Vista’s much prettier, with more interesting townies. I just love the fact that they added new cultures and lifestyles -- the worlds (plural!) are the biggest draw. 3rd best game, because they could’ve done so much more, but for the first EP out the gate, it’s a great expansion.

2 - Ambitions: Granted, I disabled Laundry (cuz eff chores); I don’t play in Twinbrook much anymore; and ITF’s Plumbbots make the Simbots look like a bad joke. But the content? The content. Dude: they’re EXPANDED. The traits, professions, hobbies & skills are sooo good. And I refuse to give up the CAS & Buy Mode items, not to mention that some of my favorite Build Mode content is from Ambitions (especially the plants). (Magnooooooooolia Crawford XD)

1 - SUPERNATURAL: Cuz duh, of course it is. XD Major flaws, particularly with the lifestates, but the content is just too integral for fanciful simmers to pass up. I have gripes with each and every lifestate (y’all know I raved a bunch about the 3rd party mod that added magic for kids), but I still have loads of fun with what we have (even the vampires, when I suspend my disbelief >_>).

I didn’t read as much fic this month, partially because I started working my second job and partially because I was reading books instead. Also writing! I finished 2 fics this month!! Here’s to doubling that number next month! Anyway, alphabetical order as always.

How to Propose to Amy Santiago by jormaperalta (Jake/Amy, 6k): "Jake Peralta’s no-fail how-to guide on how to propose to the love of your life in 13 easy steps." [Very cute, I spent the entire time clutching at my heart and internally squealing. Plus the entire squad plays a part in this fic and it’s great.] 

Influence by VivaRocksteady (gen with some Kevin/Holt, 5k): "Raymond and Kevin adopted Jake as a baby. Now Jake is 12 and just made friends with a little hooligan named Doug Judy, and Raymond is concerned. Actually, he's outraged." [Great fic with lots of really good family moments between the trio, it's sweet and captures the differences in Holt and Kevin through their parenting styles and Jake beings friends with Doug Judy is always fun]

i’ve been sleepwalking too close to the fire by elsaclack (Jake/Amy, 87k): Amy goes undercover immediately following the events of Johnny and Dora. Jake and the others try to deal. [I LOVE THIS FIC. It's honestly one of my favorite B99 fics. The writing is stellar. elsaclack nailed the characters and dynamics, both in terms of Peraltiago, their love and trust, as well as the squad as a family. Plus this fic hits all the right emotional beats, providing a very visceral reading experience. It’ll make you cry and laugh and smile. It’s so good.]

the only proof that i need is you by elsaclack (Jake/Amy, 21k): "in which Amy makes a habit of ranting to the bartender (about her terrible day, her last awful date, the patriarchy), and Jake takes it upon himself to try to make her smile." [Fantastic AU featuring a gradual development of their love, the rest of the squad being a family, and lots of really cute moments. Made my heart feel full and plastered a ridiculous smile on my face. Please read this] 

What Dreams Are Made Of by hoperise (gen, focuses on Jake&Gina with some established Jake/Amy, 2k): What happens the third Sunday in June? Bucket Day, of course. On the first Fathers' Day after Jake cuts ties with Roger, Jake and Gina work on their bucket lists and absolutely, definitely don't talk about their daddy issues. [Excellent Jake&Gina friendship and characterization as they goof around. It’s perfect and it made me laugh a lot and basically I accept Bucket Day as a canon tradition]

FOXTROT WALKER BLUE by anistar_e (Amy&Kieren Pacific Rim AU, 95k): Three years after extremists interrupt Dr Geiszler's famous speech, Amy Dyer meets Kieren Walker in the middle of the Bering Sea. [Let’s just start by saying I don’t go here. I’ve never seen a single episode and I don’t know anything about the show, but I love anistar_e’s writing so much that I will read basically anything and everything she’s written. Including fic for shows I don’t watch. To be fair, this is an AU, which makes it easier to jump into. Ok, preamble done, let’s talk about the fic. I LOVE this fic. I love that it’s this giant sprawling creature, I love how it handles magnificent world-building to flesh out a society post-kaiju, I love how it develops characters and gives them motivations and dreams including the minor characters, I love the beautiful writing, I love the platonic relationship between the two main characters and every single moment when they drift, I love that ultimately it’s about family and the ties that bind people together and coming together to be something greater. This is an epic, beautiful fic and I highly urge everyone to read it even if they haven’t watched any ITF.]

Rate in order favorite to least favorite, Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3, Sims 4: Sims 3 > Sims 2 > Sims 4 > Sims 1. I don’t really have any reference for TS1 as I don’t think I ever played it though.

Favorite expansion: Hoo boy... Bon Voyage for TS2, Showtime, WA, or ITF for TS3, and I haven’t played TS4 in a hot minute but I always liked City Living.

Small pets or horses: Small pets definitely! I do like horses and wanted to try it with the next gen of the Lockes, but yeah I just wasn’t feeling it.

Favorite active career: I’ve always enjoyed Ghost Hunter in TS3 myself. That seems to be my go to usually. I also like the Singer profession too. As for TS4 probably Scientist.

Favorite LTW/Aspiration: Don’t really have any that I can think of :/

Whims, wishes or wants and fears: Wishes.

Favorite occult: Definitely witches! That’s the occult I like to go use the most often. After that it would probably be a close tie between fairies and vampires.

Cowplants, Bonehilda or Social Bunny: Bonehilda for sure.

Favorite non-PC Sims game: Sims Bustin’ Out for the PS2. I played that game so much when I was younger!

Favorite spin off game: Idk if it counts but Castaway Stories was really fun.

How do you pick the names for your Sims: Uhh it really depends. 

With my berry sims I have a lot of the old berry name lists saves, so I pull from them a lot.

For vanilla sims it’s more varied. I’d say the majority of the time I’ll just go with whatever sounds right, or I might pull a name out that I’ve seen or heard recently. In some cases (such as the Lockes) I’ve been using themes per generation. So for example the generation 1 theme was planets so we had Mars, Jupiter, and Venus.

Create a spouse or find them in game (townies): I usually create them or get them from another simblr! If I do get a townie spouse it’s usually one of the SP generated kids from a bunch of random sims I’ve populated the world with.

Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs: Currently I prefer gameplay simblrs, just because I don’t have much time to get on nowadays and sometimes my activity can be pretty spotty so it’s hard to keep up to date with storytelling simblrs.

What year did you join simblr: I don’t remember the exact date but if you look back on my archive my first post (which technically was a reblog) was from wayyyyyy back in December 2011 😳😳
