People you want to get to know better
Thanks to @justatinycollector for the tag!
Last Song: Lucy Kaplansky's cover of the Ian & Sylvia country song 'Someday Soon', played on repeat about 15 times for my child who likes this one and likes to fall asleep to music
Favourite Colour: Bright buttercup yellow
Last film/show: Currently watching s2 of The Bear and rewatching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Sweet/savoury/spicy: Spicy, always spicy. I am the only person in my house who likes spicy food so I don't eat a lot of it at home, and yearn for it when I'm out
Last thing I googled: opening times for a place I'm planning to get food with a friend tonight.
Last Book: I cannot read one at a time so currently in progress:
Mary Renault's The Last of the Wine, returning to my historical fiction roots. My copy smells very satisfyingly of Old Book.
Sandra Newman's Julia, which is Nineteen Eighty-Four from Julia's perspective. I used to teach Nineteen Eighty-Four and it's very much in my category of "this book is good and I don't like it", and so far I'm enjoying the (published professional fiction!) fanfic remix version.
Michael Kenny's Fractured Union, non-fiction on how UK politics has struggled to cope with devolution.
Relationship status: married, for over ten years now
Current Obsession(s): I love tropical fish. I got a new big aquarium recently and I'm doing a lot of research on what I want to stock it with!
Tagging: anyone who wants to do this! all of you are people I wouldn't mind getting to know better :)

Super Six
Rules: Answer the questions then tag some people to do the same.
Thank you to @mostlyinthemorning for the tag.
Last Song: My real last song is “Totally Ready to Go” by Billy Jonas, which is the last song on my kid’s morning playlist (and the sign that we should be walking out the door to school). But the last song in my history from yesterday is “Ten Year Night” by Lucy Kaplansky.
Last Show: I watched an episode of Schitt’s Creek this morning? But we finished up The Reluctant Traveler last night.
Currently Watching: Oooh, I’m also really enjoying Shrinking.
Currently Reading: I’m making my way through PandorasDaydream’s “Language of Love” series. And Flying Solo by Linda Holmes is on my reading chair waiting patiently (literally under two cats as I type this) for me to start it.
Current Obsession: Oh no, well, I accidentally started a new spreadsheet to track what Schitt’s Creek fic has titles borrowed from song lyrics? And I know that it’s way too ambitious and I know I should be doing other things, but I did it anyway. I'm kind of loving it.
Unrelated Obsession: There are fuse beads in little jars all over my dining room table, and I keep thinking they need to be put away so we can use the table for things like dining, but my kid and I love to sort things by color. Cannot stop. I sort more every time I walk by. Such a compulsion.

First 10 songs on the top 100 list, randomized:
Open Season -- Josef Salvat
This Morning I Am Born Again -- Lucy Kaplansky
Velodrome -- Dessa
Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) -- Florence + the Machine
River -- Susan McKeown
Golden -- Harry Styles
That I Would Be Good -- Alanis Morissette
Fumbling Towards Ecstasy -- Sarah McLachlan
exile -- Taylor Swift f/Bon Iver
Someone You Loved -- Lewis Capaldi
That is a surprisingly representative sample! A little ballad-heavy, maybe, but overall it's extremely recognizable as An Evening At My House, so there you go. Thanks for the tag @grimweathers and I don't remember who else is playing Spotify Wrapped, but gimme, I want to see yours, whoever you are!

HAPPY  PI  DAY!!
The text written into the π are: “that’s just what a circle doesn’t have, a beginning or an end”
These words are part of the chorus from the song “A Song about Pi” by Irving “Kap” Kaplansky.  I first heard the song sung by his daughter, Lucy Kaplansky.  Please go give it a listen because it is adorable.  The chorus of the song is:
3 1 41 Oh (5) my (9), here's (2) a (6) song (5) to (3) sing (5) about (8,9) pi (7). Not a sigma or mu but a well-known Greek letter too. You can have your alphas and your great phi-bates, and omegas for a friend, But that's just what a circle doesn't have—the beginning or an end. 3 1 4 1 5 9 is a ratio we don't define; Two pi times radii gives circumf'rence you can rely; If you square the radius times the pi, you will get the circle's space. Here's my song about pi, fit for a mathematician's embrace.

Tagged by @heathermaru to post the first ten songs that come up on shuffle.
Call Your Girlfriend — Lucy Wainwright Roche
The Tide — Lucy Kaplansky

Happy Divorce Day — Christine Lavin
Our Town — Iris DeMent
I Guess I’ll Just Lie Here — Noah Reid
Fourth of July — Aimee Mann
The Mother — Brandi Carlile
Firework — Katy Perry

That "Call Your Girlfriend" makes me think of Patrick because it's a slowed down cover. With those lyrics! Ugh. So you should listen to it.
