Photographer happy to be alive and have support after shooting

Kevin “Surf” Mitchell is glad to be alive.

Earlier this week, the Charlotte photographer and videographer was standing in his front yard when he was shot in his left calf and right thigh. Suddenly his day went from celebrating the birth of his first child – son Kai was born on Aug. 15 – to unspeakable pain.
