Bonobo - Fragments (2022)

Donald Glover has officially released his new album, "3.15.20," after teasing fans last weekend with a temporary 12-hour stream of the project.
After streaming for a mere 12 hours online before disappearing, Donald Glover's 3.15.20 has officially dropped. Exactly one week ago, on March 15th, 2020 (hence the title of the album), the eclectic artist had fans reeling when a mysterious website called "Donald Glover Presents" appeared online. The website was streaming a 12-track collective of new music from Glover—known artistically by his nom de plume, Childish Gambino—but was quickly taken down after only 12 hours. Of course, for all of us who didn't get to hear what the innovative artist had in store, the removal of the project was mad disappointing, but Glover raised our spirits once again when he launched a cryptic countdown on a new website a few days later. The clock was counting down to early Sunday morning, and Mr. Glover came through with his first solo body of work in four years.
Featuring appearances from artists like Ariana Grande , 21 Savage, and Khadja Bonet, 3.15.20 is available on all streaming platforms, as a standard track-by-track version under Childish Gambino, or as a continuous play version under Donald Glover Presents. We've included the track-by-track version from Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud, and the continuous play version from Youtube. Fans can also experience the album simultaneously at DonaldGloverPresents.com for a limited time. Immerse yourself in 3.15.20 and let us know what you think.

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino’s New ‘3.15.20’ Album Hits Streaming Services [Listen]
Source: Pavielle Garcia / RCA Records
Last weekend, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover pump-faked everyone by dropping a new album on his website only to remove it hours later. But today (Sunday, March 22), the actor and artist’s new project, Donald Glover presents 3.15.20.
The project is available under not one but two forms—a continuous play version under Donald Glover Presents and a standard track-by-track version under Childish Gambino. The latter is what dropped last weekend then disappeared.
The album is the Grammy, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning star’s first release under Wolf+Rothstein/RCA Records. And to inspire a sense of community during these tumultuous times (see: the Coronavirus Pandemic), for a limited time fans can experience the album together at DonaldGloverPresents.com.
As for the album, 3.15.20, it contains a dozen tracks with appearances from Ariana Grande, 21 Savage and Khadja Bonet and clocks in at just under an hour. Production is provided by Glover, DJ Dahi, Ludwig Goransson and more. The album cover is just a white square…really.

Back to the Future (Best of 2016)
As a much belated list and a final farewell to this most neglected corner of the internet, I have decided to post my favorite 100 albums of 2016 (or something close to that number) as a segue to my new writing project with the talented Dave P over at heardofthem.com where I will be writing (much more consistently) current reviews of new music, features on the history of pop music and society, interviews, reviews of live shows, and everything in between. For explanation of method: I used aggregated new release websites to update monthly new albums, combined them into a single playlist and play on random. When I heard a track I liked or thought deserved more attention I created a second list. From there I listened to whole albums and made cursory reviews and eventually whittled down this into my list. It’s music I like. You might hate it. It might even be objectively bad, but it’s music I listened to more than once. It will be more or less the same process I use for 2017. I listened to approximately 900 albums, around which 200 made my second list. It’s not perfect, but it’ll work for now. I had originally intended to write reviews for the top ten, but 2017 is fast upon us and I need to focus on that. I will definitely write reviews for the top ten in 2017. Thanks.
For the record, those marked with an asterisk are for noteworthy, surprising, first time albums that shined, something I had a personal affection for, and then the flat out weird. In other words: special.

Audio
Control is the incredible debut album from Sydney based vocalist Natalie Slade, produced by Hiatus Kaiyote’s Simon Mavin and featuring contributions from other members of the Grammy Nominated group. Combining Soul, Jazz, Folk and RnB, Natalie’s timeless vocals dazzle across 10 stunning tracks, perfectly complimented by rich, live instrumentation and Mavin’s vibrant production. The album is classic to its core, whilst taking a fresh and energetic approach to a long tradition of Soul/RnB long players. Familiar broken rhythms and jazz heavy motifs, notorious with Hiatus Kaiyote’s writing and arrangement style are present, reminding us throughout that we are in the hands of true masters. The result is a kaleidoscopic reimagining of sounds and styles from an exciting new vocal talent.
Recommend for fans of Hiatus Kaiyote, Rosin Murphy, Fatima, Yasmin Lacey, Khadja Bonet.

Kadhja Bonet surprise-releases a three-track EP with outtakes from her last album Childqueen
If you didn’t know yet, Khadja Bonet is everything: a talented singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist, and generally a full-on music production company in one person. Bonet’s skill and brilliance were showing in full flair on her LP Childqueen earlier this year, and they’re just as present in the songs that eventually didn’t make it to that album. How do I know? Well, three of those songs were just released under the title Childqueen Outtakes, which is available now on streaming platforms everywhere. According to the artist, “The Watch,” “Imposter,” and “Wake” didn’t quite fit the album’s tone but nonetheless “deserved to have a life of their own.” A quick listen to the trio reveals why: all are elaborately-arranged, atmospheric miniatures, although slightly on the minimal side of the more upbeat, lavish production of Childqueen. All are definitely worth the 12 or so minutes it’ll take you to give them an uninterrupted listen during lunch break. In related news: Bonet will be playing a few shows this Fall, in both the United States and Europe. Her New York performance will happen as part of a rad concert series called The Hum, which strives to promote collaboration between exclusively female and non-binary artists. Listen to the opening track of the EP, “The Watch,” below: Childqueen tracklisting: 01. Imposter 02. Wake 03. The Watch Kadhja Bonet tour dates: 10.20.18 - Manchester, UK - Manchester Academy (as part of Strange Waves IV) 10.21.18 - London, UK - The Borderline 10.22.18 - Paris, France - Café De La Danse 10.23.18 - Istanbul, Turkey - Salon ISKV 10.24.18 - Istanbul, Turkey - Salon ISKV 10.26.18 - Madrid, Spain - Primavera Club 10.27.18 - Barcelona, Spain - Primavera Club 10.28.18 - Gent, Belgium - De Centrale 11. 09.18 - Brooklyn, NY - National Sawdust w/ Little Kruta http://j.mp/2PHB7bd

INTERVIEW H.I.P.H.O.P. #8  [ MADE IN MONTPELLIER ] NÖUR
Tumblr media
Tes prochaines dates ?
