Late Night FenHawke Thoughts

that kept me company while my blog was terminated lmao

Thinkin about Hawke running her fingers through Fenris’s hair when he’s laying on her lap or laying beside her in bed and his eyes start burning and he doesn’t know why but neither of them are going to acknowledge the fact that he’s crying when he shuffles closer and buries his face in her shirt, sighing shakily and drowning in just. Gratefulness. Love. So much love.

I also think Fenris isn’t one to say how he feels a lot but I think when he is overwhelmed with emotion and wants her to know that he loves her he rests his forehead against hers and stays there for a moment and that just sort of becomes their thing. If she’s talking or they’re sitting with people he will bump his forehead against her shoulder for a moment and maybe drop a kiss there. Sometimes he will snake an arm around her shoulders and rest his forehead against her temple or the side of her head. She always gives him a kiss in response—lips, forehead, nose, hand, wherever she can

Also I think since Kohava is also a virgin when Fenris mentions that he’s attracted to her and would be willing to try sex she probably asks if they can take it slow. Build up to it. And he says yes and they spend about six months quietly and tentatively “dating” before it happens and that makes the “I can’t do this” panic attack make him feel even worse than it does in game—but even though he hides out for a few days, she comes over and they talk it out. Or at the very least, she’s just like “we don’t have to keep doing anything, but we also don’t have to stop like. Spending time together and kissing and doing all of the things you seemed to be comfortable with. We can just not do sex again until you feel like you’re ready to deal with that aftermath. Or like. Ever if you want. I don’t really care I just like spending time with you.” The way it plays out in game is what Varric made up to fill in the gaps from what he heard from Isabela bc Fenris wouldn’t tell him and neither would Hawke. And he didn’t really fill any of the gaps in at all it just fjdkdj extremely short lmao

I’m thinkin about Koha mentioning to Fenris that she’s felt like throwing bottles a lot since moving to Kirkwall in that first one on one you get with him and he is just like shall we open another and throw it at the wall when we’re done? And they get tipsy that night while she’s laughing and telling him stories about Ferelden or funny stories since they came to Kirkwall and it’s only been like. Three days since he met this woman but she’s so pretty and giggly when she’s drunk and yeah. He can see himself staying here a while.

Kira my Hero of Ferelden is still into Zevran but I’ve also come up with a wonderful Runaway Tevinter Magister AU for Vethna so Kira is just like Torn between canon and AU lmao

I also moved my old Hawke from being Hawke over to being an Amell, and she’s very in love with Alistair. She is round and sweet and soft and he deserves a squishy giggly sweet gf I think.

I’m playing through DA2 with the poly mod just to see how things play out bc I will never play through the other romances other than Fenris. Koha ends up with Fenris, because he makes her feel safe and she loves the feeling I her chest every time she gets him to grin. He likes when she comes over for drinks and brings her fiddle. One night she teaches him to dance. Another night he teaches her to use a sword. She asks him to teach her Tevene or Qunlat, and in exchange she teaches him the bit of Elvhen that she knows from her dad. One night he comes over while she’s baking challah and she teaches him to make it and they get into a play fight throwing flour at each other. He’s never felt so much like a normal man in his life and he loves her for it.

Nadia Surana, my beloved angry blood mage Warden, is in love with Anders. She had a crush even before he left, and had always admired him for escaping the Fereldan Circle. During Act 2 or the lead up to it, the Hero of Ferelden, Kira, takes off with Zevran to help him deal with the Crows. She wasn’t about to let him go alone, but without the Nobility in Amaranthine, things immediately spiraled. Some Orlesian Wardens came to help them out in Amaranthine with recruits and things, and they immediately demoted Surana as Warden-Constable and acting Commander. They said it was about experience, but she didn’t really believe that. Found out it was about the nobility of Amaranthine that didn’t like her, but that wasn’t the final straw.

Nadia was deep into researching ways to cure the Blight with blood magic, sure she could pull it from the body if she could just figure out how to isolate it in the blood. The new leadership refused to allow her to continue her research—so she said to hell with that and left in the hopes to track down Anders. She’d been putting out feelers to see if she could figure out where he went, more out of curiosity than anything, so when she found out he was in Kirkwall, that was where she went.

She landed in Kirkwall about a week after he and Hawke had descended into the Deep Roads. She ended up taking his position as healer at his clinic while she waited for him to come back.

When he did get back, he was already on edge sensing a Warden in his clinic, but then she sees him and she gasps his name as she runs at him, laughing and throwing herself at him so that she can wrap her arms around his shoulders and hug him tight.

She’s with him up until the Conclave. They have a bit of an argument about her going, but she insists as someone who has experienced both the life of the circle and the life of an apostate AND the life of a warden. Also as a hero of the blight. She had thought to bring about change—she hadn’t anticipated the whole inquisition thing.

Excerpt from The Red-Tailed Hawke: The Untold Story of the Champion of Kirkwall written by [REDACTED] in the year 9:81 Dragon.

...Tethras's The Tale of the Champion seriously undersells the anti-Chantry and anti-slavery activities of Hawke and her associates during her time in Kirkwall. While it is covered briefly, the book reads more like an adventure novel, and as you will discover in this book, wildly inaccurate. The story of the Champion as told by Varric Tethras is full of action and adventure, covering only the most exciting portions of the 8 years the Champion lived in Kirkwall (the chapter about the High Dragon of the Bone Pit just outside of Kirkwall comes to mind).

The real story of Kohava Hawke, known as Koha by her closest loved ones, is much darker, much heavier, and much more political than Tethras presented in his retelling. Just some small examples of the things left out of The Tale of the Champion are as follows:

Upon joining forces with escaped slave and future rebel leader, Fenris, the Champion almost singlehandedly dismantled the slave trade on the Wounded Coast, breaking up all of the major slavery rings without the help of the City Guard by year 7 of her life in the city.

Hawke's association with Anders, rebel mage and the catalyst of the Mage Rebellion of 9:37 Dragon, while notable, was not nearly as deep and profound as the involvement of Nadia Surana, one of the Heroes of the Fifth Blight and eventual Head of the Inquisition. Hawke's involvement in the destruction of the Chantry may have actually even been drastically oversold for dramatic value in the book.
