17 ish hour old scam blog regurgitating the same lies as usual, hiding behind marginalized identities in case anyone catches on to their bullshit. I'm pretty sure a lot of these are run by a botter.

to report them on the android app, go to the pinned post and copy the link to that, then go to the thing next to "follow" and report for something else -> unlawful uses -> phishing, then just type in what's going on. remember to block them too.

am at my breaking point (major depression) I lost my job in 2 years ago due to long breast cancer  . With my cancer I have been very stubborn in asking for help, but seeing my baby so delicate I understood that I need everyone, these are difficult times, we have a very hard road to travel, please, if you read this my daughter needs all the possible help.

Hey, please check the op of the cat donation post you shared, they are a known tumblr scammer. They've been taken down countless of times and keep remaking with different cat pics stolen from Facebook, using paypal names that's impersonating a real person. Even their bios are copied from real tumblr users on here. Kindly check kyra45 who's been documenting this scammer or copy and paste their whole ask on the search tab, it should turn up similar asks from other deactivated users and the people who have been calling them out. If you have the time, please report their blogs as unlawful content and encourage others to do so as well. If you reblogged from a user or if a mutual reblogs from you, and they are also unaware of this scam, please alert them about it as well. If you have already received a warning about this, please feel free to ignore this message and sorry for bothering you.

A reminder to continue making sure that the brand new accounts asking you for money are legitimate blogs. There are currently scammers who pretend to be Palestinians needing mutual aid and all the content of their posts are stolen off real fundraisers from other sites. Their link is never the real fundraiser they stole content from.

Please try to search the text of the accounts if they’re only a few days old. These scammers often use a pfp that is the same pic from the fundraiser they take content off of.

Otherwise, there are legitimate charities and fundraisers that are verified outside of freshly made blogs in your askbox. Please support them if you are unsure about those who send you asks.

Beware of spam messages

Hi! If you use the ‘GoFundMe’ tag for posts you may find that a blank bio/icon account will message you with a copy/pasted message that claims they can help you. They may also ask you if you still need support. Regardless, these accounts are just typical spam accounts who watch the tag for people to message.

In some cases, these accounts want you to go offsite or give them personal information such as banking details. Other times these accounts will offer to give you a check to cash by mobile deposit. Or they’ll request your phone number.

Unfortunately, these blogs are not here to support you and they are not going to give you aid. They are generally brand new with either no posts or several posts that may be reblogs of other posts to look more legitimate. If you have messages off, they’ll just spam your comments instead.

If your post has links in it, they would use those to help you. No one would message you unless they have questions or just want to verify you received whatever they sent. Do not give blank accounts any personal information or phone numbers. They may use this to get your money.

Two weeks ago I was admitted to Hala AlShawa Medical Center after the assailants raped me and also killed my beloved father in an attempt to save me. Unspeakable violation continues to haunt me only to find out that on my return from the hospital they had killed my mother too having no idea where my sibling is since he is nowhere to be found. Signs of a phishing scam;

Out of the blue - they have no reason to know you but somehow they've picked you out of all the other suckers bank account holders fabulous artists out there.

Compliments, but vague - "your artworks" which art? "impressed by your talent" talent in what? "Heard nice things about you" from whom?

Asking to give you a large sum of money - look, most everyone dreams of a big break, so it's an easy spot to prey on people.

Money will be under the table or tax free, or in this case, untraceable Bitcoin - which means the people they scam will have little to no legal recourse.

Easy money - you won't have to do any more work for it, just a simple phone call, email etc.

If someone is legitimately interested in you and your artwork, they're going to talk to you about specifics; they're going to ask if you'll sell the pieces they like or if they can commission a piece from you. It's not going to be a stranger dropping thousands in your lap out of nowhere.
