Lan Wangji x reader ( Part 11 )

After visiting Lan Xichen Lan Wangji escorted you to Jingshi but now your feet were killing you as a result of the long journey and Lan Wangji notice your discomfort.

You were going to sit as soon as possible but Lan Wangji wrapped your shoulder.

“bao bei, you need to rest” Lan Wangji said

You startled at “bao bei” as Lan Wangji had so far called you by name. The marriage had really got into him and it made your cheeks burned. You felt nervous to be in Jingshi and around Lan Wangji than ever because of the thought that Lan Wangji was now your husband.

“Lan Zhan, I’ll go to my room. I’m tired” you quickly mumbled but Lan Wangji shook his head.

“Rest here”

You widened your eyes when Lan Wangji was pointing his bed. Maybe you had sleep overs at Quiet Room but you were not dare to today. Lan Wangji however did not not let you go. He brought his long index under your chin and said “Mine” and then looked at his bed at declared “ours”.

When you were hesitating, Lan Wangji walked you to bed and started massaging your feet as soon as you sat there. You could not help but admired your husband silently for a while.

“Thank you…Lan Zhan”

“Mmn” Lan Wangji added without looking at your face. Maybe he wanted you to hear the word “husband” or something sweeter from you sometimes, you thought.

“bao bao” you muttered as Lan Wangji’s ears were turning red. He looked at you smirking and drew closer connecting his lips with you while pushing to the soft mattress beneath him.

Next day you found Wei Wuxian was near the magnolia tree at library pavilion.

“Wei Ying, you didn’t tell me what happened at Guanyin temple and how your neck did got hurt”

“I’ll tell you but Y/N you have to tell me a story too” Wei Wuxian said skipping around you. You were puzzled and wondered what the tale that he would love to hear was. Did he know about your marriage?

“Oh! Don’t worry. It’s nothing awful” Wei Wuxian giggled. “I’ll go first”

He summarized everything happened at Guanyin temple and you listened to him. You knew Jin Guangyao had a despicable murderous personality, once when Wei Wuxian told you about what Jin Guangyao had done to Nie Mingjue and you were not much affected by hearing his death. Moreover, you sensed Wei Wuxian suspected Nie Huaisang was somewhere behind what happened to Jin Guangyao and many other things. It was exactly cunning of him you thought that Nie Huaisang pulled out an act of violence hid it behind the weakling that he played on purpose.

“Now tell me Y/N, … isn’t it something gold that you are hiding under your sleeve?” Wei Wuxian winked.

Could you really hide anything from this man? You sighed. Of, course he might know about marriage too.

“I might or might not have seen Lan Zhan buying it. Congratulations to both of you”

“Thank you, Wei Ying …” then you saw something else had caught Wei Wuxian’s attention and looking back you saw a figure of a man faraway.

“Nie Huaisang!” Wei Wuxian said.

“What’s he doing here?” you wondered while seeing him roaming at Cloud Recesses.

“I’ll figure it out” Wei Wuxian added getting ready to follow him.

“Wei Ying!”

“I know. I know. No troubles. I promise” Wei Wuxian smiled before running away.

You turned around and went to find your husband and found him playing guqin. It was a melody that you have not heard before but just as anything Lan Wangji played it was beautiful.

“Lan Zhan, what’s that song?”

“a song about us” he smiled.

“about you and I?” you gasped.

“Mn”

You let him played the song as he wished and at the end, when music stopped,

“Lan Zhan, what do you think Wei Ying is up to now? Will he stay here or return to Lotus Pier? He can stay here”

“Mn” Lan Wangji took a minute “He will travel”

“Will you go with him too?” you asked but Lan Wangji didn’t reply and you went on. “If you go, you have to promise me one thing. You have to take me with you and please don’t make me stay at inns. I want to stay by your side like Wei Wuxian could even at danger. I know Lan Zhan, you want me to be safe, but when you are by my side why should I fear anything or anyone?”

“Mn” Lan Wangji took your hand and drew it to his chest “I never leave you, bao bei”.

Later that day Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji confronted Nie Huaisang and he warned Wei Wuxian to not to interfere others business. Wei Wuxian sighed and walked to Lil’ Apple and Lan Wangji followed him. They walked silently to the mountain top and Wei Wuxain knew it was the time to part ways. He could not confess his departure to you and left it to Lan Wangji to do. He knew you would object at it and try to make him stay. Then Lan Wangji and him chose different directions and started walking away.

Wei Wuxian’s heart was heavy and he stopped to play his flute. Then he played it for a while until “Wei Ying” a familiar voice of Lan Wangji called him. Wei Wuxian could not hold back his smile and it only widened when he was Lan Wangji and you were standing behind him holding hands.

“Ready for a road trip?” you asked and giggling Wei Wuxian replied “ yes”.
