Me seeing my moots watching Legend of Zhen Huan/empresses in the palace:

But as I was telling @mercipourleslivres and @silviakundera, one of my favorite fun fact about Zhen Huan is that the director got some flack for casting at the start, because people didn’t think Chen Jia Bing was attractive enough even though he’s considered to be an excellent actor. Bc at the time, Jade Heart Lock Palace and BBJX just aired. And the director’s rebuttal more or less was “that’s the point. Nowadays there’s too many attractive princes in historicals. This is what a 40 year old emperor is supposed to look like.”

It’s the opposite of the discourse on casting of lan ling wang the same year, aka that Feng Shao Feng wasn’t attractive enough to play the IRL Prince which by historical accounts was so attractive he had to wear a mask in battle.

Welcome to the Period dramas' dresses tournament, here we'll decide which is the best period drama's dress to have ever existed, everyone can submit a dress that fits the different categories we'll be voting:

You can submit via the google forms or tumblr asks (each submission form will last a week)

Submission rules:

You can submit anything that fits the definition below, but it does have to belong to a piece of media that's set in the past (I'd said at least 20 years before the present) and ofc, that has the color of the category we're currently voting

You can submit as many different dresses you like, just don't spam the same dress

Take into account the picture of the dress it's the one others will be seeing when voting, so make sure that it has enough quality & brightness for the dress to be appreciated

Don't forget to write the name of the piece of media & character the dress belongs to
