The ache in your head was outstanding. It was as if your brain was pounding and bashing against your own skull. The nauseous swirling in your stomach as your eyes slowly adjusted to the light shining through the crack of your marui’s entrance.
Sitting up, your sight was foggy. Rubbing your eyes with your fingers, the surroundings slowly moving into focus.
Wait. This marui…it is different. The space is larger… the decorations are nothing like you’d seen before. A feeling of fear welled in your stomach and sunk to your toes as you tried to remember the events from before.
Though as you turned to your right and noticed a softly snoring giant next to you, you let out a blood-curdling scream. Why were you in the chief’s bed? How drunk had you become. Oh no… nothing happened … did it?
Tonowari shot up in an instance, his heart racing and eyes blown wide in alert. “Are you hurt?” He asked concerned, eyes full of anxiety, then filling with realization… Ah last night.
“Why am I here?! Why am I in your bed? Did we fuck!? Oh great mother!” You were frantic, practically shaking as you’d instinctively held the blanket to your body, almost like a child cowering behind their mother.
“No. No! Let me explain, be calm please.” Tonowari had woken up abruptly, the consequences of his actions last night hitting him in the face, much too early in the morning. Yet, in all of this chaos, he couldn’t deny how beautiful you looked when the morning sun bounced off your sapphire skin. How your hair splayed across your shoulders, delicate hands close to your heart, gripping tightly onto the weaved blanket he had made years ago. Years before his mind and thoughts were corrupted by you.
“I shouldn’t be here…” You shake your head trying to rid of the horrific scenarios of your drunken stupidity out of your head. How had you ended up in the bed of your ex-boyfriend’s father. The same man who you had shamelessly dreamt about every night. He was so much older yet, your youth was attracted to him. Like two magnets pulling each other close.
“Y/N. Listen just for a moment.” His pleading eyes stared into yours. Oh how could you deny such a man filled with sweetness. He was like sugar so sweet, so addicting.
A small nod gave Tonowari the clearance to inhale deeply and start to explain the situation. “You were drunk last night…and so was I.” This only made you panic more. Two drunken idiots, that are most definitely attracted to each other?
“Please let me finish.” Tonowari pleaded seeing your eyes filling with anxiety once again. He wanted to caress your cheek, force you to stare into his eyes as he told you it was all going to be okay. But how could he allow himself to give in to that urge? What type of man would that make him?
“I followed you towards some the rocks…I was afraid you would hurt yourself. You started to cry and wail about … my son.” He winced at the mention of the Ao’nung situation that had occurred leading you to this mess. You winced as well, the memory barely fading from your memory. It stung in your heart and scratched your insides…it hurt so much. “I comforted you and took you here to sleep for the night. I did not want you going home alone.”
You nodded still grasping the situation ahead of you. “I’m sorry you had to see that.” It was incredibly embarrassing. The thought of him seeing you in such a wreck.
Tonowari frowned, a touch on your shoulder. He told himself it was friendly, but the way his fingers lit up with the feeling of your skin he couldn’t even kid himself. “Do not dare to apologize…the stupidity of my son is not something you should have ever had to endure. Y/N…I am sorry.”
He was so earnest. So honest. His words softly caressing your heart and making it flutter. Tears fought their way to well in your eyes. You refused to cry any more in front of your chief.
“Thankyou. But I should go. My family must be getting worried.” Why was your heart aching to stay, to once again cry in those huge, muscular arms. One last look at Tonowari, giving him a respectful bow as you stood up. His hand sliding off your shoulder, grazing the skin of your arm and waist.
He didn’t want you to go. If he could indulge in his greatest desires he’d keep you in his arm right in his marui, not a single soul interrupting the two of your time together. “Yes…you should. Goodbye Y/N.”
His voice was smooth yet rocky. It made no sense, but with an innocent yet yearning wave you exited the marui. Immediately speed walking towards your family’s marui for breakfast.

While you did have your own marui, you made it habit to go and eat your meals with your family. It was as if you made a heart-warming memory with them every time you sat on your woven mat and laughed with your family.
Walking into your marui your family was staring at you all each a different…an odd look on their faces. “What?” You said confused looking at them, mouth slightly agape as your younger brothers started to let out little chuckles.
“You look like a mess bro!” Lo’ak cackled out, slapping his knee in the process. Neytiri his flicking his shoulder.
“Lo’ak!”
“What?!” He pouted holding his inflicted shoulder, still chuckling every time he looked at you.
Did you look that terrible? Was it obvious you had gone too intense with the drinks? Did Tonowari think you looked terrible. Huh? Do not worry about him! You scolded yourself, refusing to let your shameful thoughts resurface in a time like this
“Sister you look slightly dishevelled that is all.” Kiri said calmly, but even she couldn’t hide the grin creeping onto her face. She tried to cover it up by eating more fruit, but her attempt was pointless.
“Hey! I do not look that bad.” A little stomp as you walked into the room, subconsciously patting down your hair.
“Yeah stop making fun of Y/N…she simply had a fun night” Neteyam giggled, even Lo’ak slapping his arm as they cracked up at the table.
Even Jake couldn’t hide his smile, the way his grown up daughter was now stomping her foot and complaining. It was just like back in the forest. Even Tuk laughed along, not like she understood of what her older siblings were referring to.
“What the- Neteyam!” A gasp left your mouth, what was this skxwang talking about. You were so going to kill him after breakfast.
“Sorry sis!” He snickered holding his hands up innocently. You simply rolled your eyes, and lightly smacked his head as you sat beside him. He gave you a tiny snarl as he continued to eat his food, and so did you. Filling your starving stomach with deliciously cooked breakfast

It was now late afternoon, the sky slowly darkening, as the calming waves rushed up just onto the tops of your feet. The water cold, but only enough to make you want to delve into the water more.
The scurrying of feet on the sand emerged from your side. Turning to investigate the sound…it was the last person you wanted to see.
Ao’nung.
Expression morphing into one of disgust, as he walked closer to you, you started to immediately get up to race away from him.
“Hey! Don’t go. C’mon Y/N! Let’s talk!” Ao’nung dragged his feet across the sand faster as he jogged up to you.
“No. Go away.” The words were cruel and stern, enough to make him rethink his decision to find and talk to you.
“Y/N! Come here for fuck’s sake! Stop being a brat!” Ao’nung had no right to be so cruel, especially when he was so deeply in the wrong.
Seething you turned swiftly marching towards him to lay a loud slap across his face. “Don’t you dare talk to me like that!” You hissed at him. Hand stinging from the impact.
“Did you just slap me?”
“Do you need another one? You cheating scum.” Ao’nung scoffed as he rested a tight grip on your shoulder. It was nothing like his fathers. No it was harsh and tight, there to inflict pain. Such a strong contrast to the tenderness of Tonowari’s touch.
“Get over it… c’mon Y/N it was just a mistake.” Ao’nung was lying through his teeth. He’d never admit it, but he loved every minute with that girl. Shit, he’d go back for seconds if he didn’t have girlfriend. But he’s a good boyfriend, so he won’t.
“the only mistake was trusting you.” Rage was coursing through your body. How dare he come up to you and speak with you like this as if he had not, disrespected your union and broken apart your heart.
“C’mon Y/N, is this a forest thing? Being such a bitch?” Ao’nung chuckled you, he knew everything to get right and comfortable under your skin. He had his signature smirk on his face, a shit eating grin, begging for another slap.
“Is it a reef thing? To be such a disrespectful, immature, unlovable piece of filth?” Floored. You had floored him with your words.
He had never been hit with such words of disrespect. His mouth hung open, shocked at each syllable that had the nerve to exit your mouth.
“Are you seriously calling me unlovable?” The look in his eye was evil, a glint of pure rage seething through him as his tail lashed and thumped on the ground.
You nodded, trying to not be intimidated by his towering stance.
“You were lucky that I ever gave you a chance. Freak. How could you ever think you were ever worth enough to be worthy to the reef? Even the great mother abandoned you. Nature is not on your side, and nor is love. You are a freak, a demon.”
Your heart shattered. To think he would use such low insults on you. As if you hadn’t spent night crying in his arms about you feeling so out of place, so out of luck. And he had turned your vulnerabilities into daggers back to stab you in the back.
Tears welled up in your eyes. Biting your lip, sucking in the sob that desperately begged to come out.
“did you ever love me?” I ask softly, trying to keep the shakes out of my voice, blinking away the tears.
“Who cares. I don’t now.” And those words were like a slap against your face, lashing you to a harsh reality as you whimpered.
In the long run. You wondered how you ever thought you could be loveable. You weren’t in the forest, and neither were you in the reef. And now as you seethed and tried not to sob. All emotions took over, no logic whatsoever occurring in your mind.
“Your father does.” As soon as it rolled off your tongue you wanted to suck it back in. Shit, Fuck, shit. You should not of uttered a single word.

I can't help but find the OOC anons, in general, rather baffling.
I don't like OOC fics and am incredibly picky with the fics I read overall--I have often clicked out of an otherwise amazing fic because I found a small detail in characterisation I hated. However, my idea of OOC is someone else's idea of perfectly in character, or someone else's serious attempt at it. Most people aren't going out of their way to make characters they love OOC, they simply see them differently than I do, and (at times) aren't a super skilled writer yet, and struggle to get the characterisation how they (or I) want. And that's not a bad thing?? People aren't going to see the characters in the same way, nor are thy all going to have the same skill in writing. Hell, they're also not going to want the same thing out of fic. A friend in my current fandom only writes fluff and crack, so the characterisation is far different than the darker canon. But they're having the time of their lives and good for them. Their fics aren't for me, but fandom is transformative, and something we all approach in different ways and want different things out of. And that's okay!!!
I want specific characterisation, writing, and plots. Therefore I exclude a lot, and end up clicking out of fics even then. Other people are more open, or exclude more strictly than I do, or don't exclude at all. To each their own.
Some people want crack and humour and fluff, and escapism that way. The person I mentioned above and I both work in healthcare, and have talked about that and how horrible it is to see people pass away, and have to then go talk to their loved ones, and so much more. We both worked through COVID, and are still seeing the fallout from that. Stress is an understatement. For the both of us (and for so many people here), fandom is an escape. I escape by being picky and wanting canon-esque fics and characterisation I personally find accurate. They escape by writing and reading crack and fluff, and "what-if" AU's where canon was a bit happier. It's what makes them happy in fandom, and I'll good for them, and good for anyone who likes fluffy super fics I see as OOC. Just like good for anyone who like fics to be as canon compliant as possible.
I know the OOC conversation will never end, but I'm never going to get it. I'm picky as hell, but someone else enjoying themselves by reading or writing something i find horrifically OOC literally does not affect me besides mayyybbbeee some annoyance if I click on what looks like a fic I'll like. Let people enjoy things. This is fandom, someone else writing your blorbo, or mine, in a way you loathe isn't going to hurt you.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of writers think they're writing the same IC you agree is IC, but they're just not that good, so what comes out on the page doesn't read as they intended.

For real though, there's such genuine love in the way he works with the genres that inspire him as well as with writing as a whole! @5mind GAAAARLIIIIIIIC. we continuously cook up dubious foods in the dms; our plots are forebodingly diabolical (affectionate) and [covering garlic's ears] i still plan to consume their brain for power. he’s got THE most creative and inspired never before seen characters on this side of the universe that i adore so so so much and tbh if you aren’t following her like…….bro be fr with me rn like why @riiese Mark’s writing legitimately inspires me. They are THE voice master dude. The way they weave words together feels right out of a fairytale with this whimsical magic to it that gets me lost in the moment!!! i can’t help but get swept up in their beautiful prose!!! @dynamoprotocol BRO lowkey i remember being shocked when I saw he followed me. From the writing, the care to detail, the art, Clarissa/Chance’s development, the worldbuilding, AND he’s CHILL AS FUCK??? and you wanna follow ME dude??? for real though, i cant sing enough high praises!! @natterghast i stumbled upon her by chance and sooooooo happy i did <33 their ocs absolutely captivated me, each one has this cozy cosmic horror vibe that im? obsessed with?? AND THE WAY SHE WRITES IS SO GORGEOUS AND FULL OF MEANING AND CARE THEY PUT IN AND [wrattling the bars in my enclosure]
there are so many more i can shout out but i will have to cap it here since this post has gotten ... so long and i am now so sleepy. Genuinely though, everyone I follow and get to see pop up on my dash both makes me day and inspires me as a creative each and every time!!!
pet peeves/dealbreakers: the biggest ones for me rn are like … needlessly aggressive ooc attitudes, be it towards anons, in rules, in posts— esp if someone is flaunting about being mean i uh. have fun i guess? not for me.
Condescending rules, especially those geared towards oc’s, might even result in an insta-block from me. (i promise it’s okay to just say ur selective overall and leave it at that).
muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ): I generally like to lean more into light-hearted & comedic stuff, esp when first interacting but cus it’s fun! Once I get comfy with my rp buds tho i do loooooove to get into the meat n potatoes— the drama, the action, THE DRAMA!!! <- but a nice balance is important to me!
if everything is doom n’ gloom all the time without either a break, some sort of bitter-sweetness, and/or light at the end of the tunnel— then The Dread™ starts to feel too much for me :0 that being said … horror is … so much fun too <3
plot or memes: memes are a life savior esp when it comes to breaking the ice— i wouldn’t be cookin’ up like. any of the delectable plots i got brewing in the dms without em >:0
long or short replies: BOTH! i tend to naturally lean towards longer replies, moreso because i always have A Lot To Say™️ but i love goofing around with shorter stuff <3
best time to write: if i had my way it’d be an hour or two after i wake up in the morning and made myself my fancy energy drink + did my n.eopets dailies 💕 i try to make sure i get one day off like this each weekend it’s so lovely. Otherwise, i try not to stress about it too much and do what i can. i want my rp buds to know i genuinely dont mind waiting for replies or anything and i think it starts with how you hold yourself to that same degree too
are you like your muse?: ooooo aren’t we all in some way? it’s important to sprinkle some part or facet of YOU into them, especially ocs!
i will say, Doc is far closer alike to me versus anyone else on this blog, esp when it comes to values! he’s just far more gung-ho that i could ever have the energy to be tho. also i hope im not as stubborn as him 💀
i did give Ophelia my weird girl tendencies tho but cranked that shit up into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!!!

ooc: hey!! there’s some more important info abt lucy that i wanted to share + some not as serious lucy fun facts. this is kind of lengthy so everything is under the cut 💜
personality / misc hcs
she hates that she has to be addressed by her callsign. she wasn’t called her actual name for years—she was only addressed as Subject Number 27 in the lab—she wants to be just lucy again.
lucy calls her brother “jem” a lot because when she was first learning to talk she had trouble saying “jeremy” so she said “jemmy” instead.
she and scout butt heads a lot because of how ideologically different they are, but they love each other dearly. they both are very protective over the other.
she shows her affection through acts of service. she’s very bad with her words.
lucy loves loves LOVES tea and sweet foods and drinks.
besides her work uniforms, she doesnt really have any clothes of her own. she has a couple of dresses (all gunne sax) gifted to her by spy for her 16th birthday.
the work/combat boots she wears are horrifically beat up. they’re worn out because they’re all she wears. she has another pair of shoes and mary-janes as part of her uniform, but these shoes in particular are cherished by her because they were the first piece of clothing she was given after being rescued from the lab.
because she didn’t grow up in boston for too long, lucy doesn’t really have a bostonian accent, but when she says certain words, it kind of slips out.
lucy has a slight gap in her front teeth. her teeth didn’t grow in properly. she was playing baseball with her brothers when she was four, and a stray pitch knocked one of her baby teeth out and the other lodged into her gums.
as part of her training for her “psychic abilities” she had to learn how to do multiple complex actions or tasks at once. this is the reason why she knows how to play multiple instruments (piano, fiddle, some woodwinds), why she’s very skilled in ballet, why she’s a skilled singer.
lucy was told that fighting is a lot like dancing. she really internalized it. she moves very gracefully and fluidly the field—however, normally she moves very stiff and awkwardly.
lucy was taught different languages in the lab as part of her “educational enrichment.” she’s best with french and struggles a little with german. she tries to teach herself russian (mainly for heavy)
lucy is mixed. in my hc, her ma is filipino.
she is not comfortable in her own body. she feels like she’s somewhere in between being a girl and being a boy but she doesn’t know how to express that properly.
lucy is ace.
lab related
lucy is incredibly pale due to being stuck in that dark lab for a decade. dark circles under her eyes are more visible because of this.
she has high pain tolerance due to training procedures in the lab. they needed to make sure she could still use her abilities even when her body was under high stress or running on incredibly low amounts of sleep or being dehydrated or dangerously hungry. many of her natural body “cues” are not normal. the mercs need to keep her in check because of this.
lucy has a really weird relationship with food because of the lab. even though she hated what they forced her to eat, those foods still bring her comfort.
she had to mature way too fast and way too soon. she felt she had to “kill” the child that she was in order to survive in the lab. but that child never truly “died” so lucy is in a really bad balance of being fiercely independent or concerningly codependent.
she has bad dreams nightly. her nightmares involve her being found by the AiHB and them killing or torturing the people she loves. or it’s her death in the lab. someone else being experimented on and she can only stand there and watch. her being unable to save someone because she can’t overpower their attacker. she would calm herself down by going to find scout or sniper or spy to make sure that they were there and safe and well.
lucy had to keep a journal in the lab. there were drawings and written entries in it. scout took the journal, then spy stole it from him and he keeps it with him after that. they both wanted insight on her mental state. scout never learns spy stole it from him—he just thought he lost it. lucy does not know that this happened.
lucy becomes very paranoid over her privacy. of people listening to her conversations in secret, hidden cameras.
she becomes especially sensitive to the mistreatment of animals.
she has oddly specific fears and all of these are because of the lab—she’s afraid of black vans, she’s afraid of dotted fabrics. the sound of EKG machines.
she was terrified of men in white coats, so she was terrified of medic. she wouldn’t talk to him, she couldn’t be in the same room as him. he mistook her genuine fear of him as her trying to intimidate him. after that, he actively makes sure to assure her he is nothing like the men in the lab.
addressing the RED and BLU lucy of it all
so when i was first making lucy’s character, i had the comics in mind more than i did the game. there are implications in the comics that are different from the games. the most important one to lucy is the whole “spy is a deadbeat” thing
because in the games its heavily implied (but. basically canon.) that the father of RED scout is BLU spy. the father of BLU scout is RED spy.
but in the comics, RED is kind of written as if they are the only team. making RED spy the father of RED scout.
so for me i have been treating comics lore lucy differently than game lore lucy. she has the same story no matter what—she will always be scout’s little sister and second child of the spy, but the exact semantics of her differs.
because i realized kind of quickly that both a RED and BLU existing in the same space at the same time would be a little problematic logistically. because both lucys work as assistants to the administrator who is authorized to go down to the respective RED/BLU base that her brother works for. but i feel like both teams would definitely realize “wait, if she works for the administrator…then she…”
so there IS. a RED and BLU lucy, however they do not/cannot in the same timeline. they’re in parallel timelines to each other.
because this is something that is interesting to me, both lucys have knowledge of the other but they don’t realize that.
they both think that the blips they see or things they hear are not related to an “alternate timeline.” they both simply think that they’re experiencing side effects from their meds or their psychic abilities.
how did this happen? a procedure performed in the lab went horrifically wrong. lucy’s abilities at this point are wildly out of control. she unintentionally caused a power surge and lucy almost died due to the machines she was hooked up to.
this event happened at the same time across the main RED lucy and BLU lucy timelines. there’s more about this but it gets kind of even more confusing but. anyways does this at all make logical sense? probably not! is this at all necessary? absolutely not but im keeping it in bc i think its cool lol
RED lucy and BLU lucy
RED lucy prefers to act as support, usually acting as the team’s second sniper or giving medical aid to anyone she sees in base. RED lucy is a lot more defensive than offensive. she uses her abilities more for self-defense or disorienting the enemy to allow someone to get out of a dangerous situation. she avoids the frontlines she’s more afraid of getting killed on the field or getting captured because she knows she’s easy pickings to the other team.
BLU lucy would be found on the frontlines near her brother. she feels much “safer” there, because she thinks it would be easier to kill or capture her if she’s alone. she uses her abilities to cause major distractions to lead the enemy into surprise attacks.
RED and BLU lucy both consider sniper to be one of their closest friends. they both consider pauling to be a sister figure.
i really like how a lot of people portray BLU as being more serious than RED. so that means BLU lucy is a much sunnier person. she processes her trauma in the lab differently—she cracks more jokes and laughs more easily about it. her viewing it as a fucked up joke is how she ignores/suppresses her trauma.
they both are left handed.

Okay everything under the cut is like, something ive (mostly) already had saved in a draft but was too punkass to post but
TL;DR: Akira forms a palace 12-18 months after the events of the base p5 game and it manifests through the anger (fear) of being left behind/tossed aside once his usefulness of being a leader was up. it is incredibly self indulgent, and it is comprised of a ton of hcs ive never really talked about on this blog so some things may feel a bit ooc, but like on god if i actually made a fucking fic it would make more sense 😭
The timeline of events is: base p5 game ->back home after probation -> [akira] spends the summer and third year alone -> palace develops sometime during the end of third year-> thieves infiltrate and clear palace during the beginning of summer -> boy time :) -> spend rest of summer following the plot of p5s. Once i actually play strikers i think that will be the motivation needed to start writing a draft for this fic.  (also good lord i transferred this from my google docs on mobile to desktop and theres so many words 😭 )
Ive wanted to make an actual ‘Akira has a Palace!au’ but it feels like. Nearly impossible to try and do so while making it seem realistic (read: in-character and not horrifically ooc), so i simply have not put it down on paper. But within the last year its morphed into something im Okay with and happy to daydream about :)
it hinges on existing hcs i already have for him. The ability to have a palace is dictated by a noticeable degradation in his personality; post game (ignoring royal) has him left alone back home but more importantly, without purpose (in his eyes). From punching some deadbeat and having that lead to gaining a family, saving japan (shido), saving the world (yaldabaoth), only to lose everything he gained in the blink of an eye is just so jarring to him. Existing in the real world does not even compare to being Joker;  the finesse and grandeur is simply an aspect of himself he feels he'll never tap into again. There was something comforting about being able to have a separate persona crafted for the metaverse and hes not sure hell be able to tap into it in the real world. On top of that, with how busy everyone is post game (graduating/college applications), while Akira acknowledges that the thieves, his family, are trying really hard to continue on with their lives, he is bitter that they get to do that together without him. 
It initially manifests as him simply tinkering about (another hc) to keep his head busy and buzzing, but as he does his own college process, he is more acutely aware of how he is doing this Alone. His entire problem is that being removed from his family has amplified some deep, deep insecurities that hes had way before he got shipped off to tokyo. Its why he is loyal to a fault, its why he demands loyalty in return; all he has to offer is his body. Literally. He promises safety and leadership and in order to accomplish this, he will give his body up again and again; in the metaverse and in real life. If you peel back the layers of his personality, you see someone who has a deeply ingrained sense of justice, and someone who clings to that desperately bc the one thing he feels like he has to do (to have any impact on the world and the people he encounters) is to stand up for and defend people who need defending. If he doesnt have that, what Can he do?
So the combination of being left alone again (sent back home), having a Not Positive relationship with his parents/caretakers, having to do stressful/difficult things alone again after getting comfortable having a team to help with tasks, no longer having the power granted by the metaverse to feel strong, and no longer having the power of the metaverse to allow him to directly impact peoples lives starts to wear him down. HONESTLY it would be over a year before anyone saw the metaverse app appear on their phone again; Akira would be bitter but he would not suddenly spiral out of control months after he goes back home. His friends still call and video chat with him and even ryuji and ann visit a couple of times, but it would be months and months of radio silence before it would sit heavy in his heart that maybe they Didnt want to be bother with him, esp if he had no way to actually be Useful to them. It would sound outlandish to him as hes laughing in a group call w everyone a month after he comes back home, but its alot more plausible when people are simply dubbing his calls. 
The whole point of this is that Akiras palace is created from the insecurities in his heart, amplified to a thousand, and so the theme of his palace would be something akin to neglect and Wanting To Have His Family With Him Again. But he is also someone who has an obsession with the bonds he has, and NEEDS to have people who will have a borderline unhealthy relationship with him; if he is willing to die for someone, that someone needs to Also be willing to die for him. He would not Want them to actually die for him (he LITERALLY would die for them before they could do such a thing) but it is the trust in him that he needs above all else. And this is not a GOOD thing! This is kind of bad maybe !!!! It manifested as something good while they were fighting rulers, but now that theres no one to fight, no treasures to steal, its eating him alive. Theres a phase in his boss fight that has his shadow casting Charm/Brainwash on random teammates bc at his core, this is what he misses; his team! And if they wont willingly come back to him, he will Make them come back to him. Thats !!!!! NOT Good !!!!!!!! At all !!!
His palace is the culmination of his internalized beliefs about the world around him, how his role fits into all of this- his true ‘purpose’- and how becoming misguided in life leaves him truly directionless in the worst way possible. His will is as strong as ever, but its been refracted through a dark and muddled lens. He Wants, and he Wants so bad that its warping his desires and his ability to think rationally. The destruction of his palace is more or a less a rebirth of sorts, and it marks the beginning of the thieves real relationship with him and amongst each other. Akira is no longer a Leader, hes just… Akira. And when u just have Akira, does that alter the relationship you have with him? (The answer is yes, and its for the better!!)
The confrontation w the thieves (and subsequently, the confrontation with his own insecurities) is followed up by a necessary respite, where they all take the time to reconnect. Makoto and Haru are in college!! Ann and Yusuke are doing well in their respective budding careers, Ryuji is Ryuji :) ( i am joking; in this au, he is looking into doing personal trainer stuff, and trying to work up the courage to do track stuff again by doing marathons), and Futaba is still a menace (affectionate). AND! After they split up (PROMISING to meet up soon!), Akira answers the door two days later to Ryuji standing there w a suitcase and Makoto waving goodbye to the two of them 
From here on, when the plot of strikers happens (directly after this entire mess and maybe a week or two into ryujis stay), Akira is the leader he loves to be, but the burden of responsibility no longer weighs heavy on his shoulders. They are a team; always have been and always will be, only now, they wont settle for an ‘its okay’ when everything about Akira clearly says otherwise. Theyre a team, and Akira will realize that they are more than capable, but more importantly, more than willing to step up when hes unable to do so himself.

not that anyone will even see this on this dumb side account but
i really cant see levi smut being a thing. don't get me wrong, i would love it, but the oneshots and common tropes just don't work. he wouldn't like casual sex. he wouldn't like to be the dom daddy type. he would honestly probably hate the idea of sex if it wasn't intimate in any way with his One Person™ he'd find it gross. exchanging body fluids with someone? absolutely filthy
this is also kinda the case with fluff. he's not good with words. fuck, he's shit with his emotions in general. attachments are terrifying to him so he doesn't do them. this man has literally lost EVERYONE in his life ever since adolescence. any oneshot that is not an established relationship or any fic that's not a slow burn is horrifically ooc for me.
levi's not a "haha he's bad at emotions :)" character trope. he's an incredibly traumatized man that has been forced to watch the people around him die over and over again. he's been objectified and weaponized, which is why he's so pissed when citizens refer to him as Humanity's Strongest Soldier™ failing to recognize any of this really diminishes him to a 1 dimensional character trope that doesnt do him justice
if thats the type of fic that you like to read, write, and enjoy, great! i just love this character soso much and it breaks my heart to see him diminished so much

Today I want to apologize, I am so sorry for the “Barbiehemier” posts I made on my Peanuts OOC acct both on Twitter and on Tumblr a while ago.
I’ve deleted them but they were in such poor taste, very insensitive and offensive. I should have never made them in the first place.
I wasn’t thinking too much when making them, just trying to join in on all the joke tweets everybody was making.
But that was an incredibly stupid and insensitive thing to do, I should have known better and I won’t make excuses for it.
am not Japanese, but I am deeply sorry to any Japanese people who follow me/the OOC acct who was or has family who was tragically hurt or killed by the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs.
It was such a horrific tragedy that I had no right to ever joke about.
I’m not trying to excuse my insensitive behavior with this, but I will at least spread this so more people will be aware of it/why the meme was insensitive

Because when the end starts sucking, see how DRASTIC AND SUDDEN it is, hence why it shocked me initially, see how the Captain is in danger of being killed and the Gibbous charges at him with an evil grin ready to do it, Pandora rushes to protect him, and SUDDENLY gives the incel who ruined her life all the time a "this is not good !" speech gently-firmly scolding him and he is sad and agrees. Come to think of it it feels like Pucci the dog going "I must go, my people need me", something created at the last moment and feeling artificial for that. Little Vampire remembers this and is weirded out because it is weird to have done and said for all parties especially for Bois Dormante's "choice", but that's what he remembers so it must have happened and he won't remember a horrific vision of an eldritch deity double-killing someone by eating them
And she did that to Michel too because she grew attached. Possibly the 3 other monsters as well, since they are essentially kiddies at heart especially Marguerite, since they didnt remember the Gibbous before I guess she had erased their memories in the prologue as well
It is NOT very ethical but she did it once, she can do it more if it means "protecting the children's innocence", Pandora isn't perfect either and even less her pirate husband

Plot twist : one day Bois Dormante coincidently comes visit out of nowhere because she does miss the Captain as her friend and old crush for his surprise and Pandora's rage ("I THOUGHT WE WOULD NEVER SEE HER AGAIN?!"), she did move on from him and presents them her new boyfriend who coincidently looks EXACTLY like the Gibbous when he was a human so PERFECT now it can be a perfect alibi to the kids and they ask her to pretend that she only remembered them recently and asks him to pass as the Gibbous which weirds him out not even knowing who he is and that poor human finds himself having to catfish children (but not weirded out as much as the Captain and Pandora themselves because they feel like seeing the asshole again and it just knots their stomachs whenever they see him at first)

TW domestic abuse
A fight starts because of Claudia, which is fine they fight and toss each other around they are vampires. But then Lestat starts just punching Louis over and over again. Throws him through the wall, continues to beat him. And then he flies up into the sky, incredibly high, and drops him. Now if they had throw some punches at each other been on equal footing just had a rough fight sure that makes sense. But this was a brutal, unequal fight where one person in a domestic situation was actively hurting the other and they couldn’t fight back. Not to mention the racial implications.
People are going to say stupid shit like “they fought all the time” and yeah but that wasn’t a fight that was a horrific domestic assault. Lestat never does anything even close to that. A slap between vampires here,  a tussle there is not the violent unnecessary bullshit that was. He is mean sometimes, he has done terrible cruel things but he would never do that to Louis. Not even if you just read the first book. Contrary to the belief of several people apparently just because a character does bad things doesn’t mean you just accept every action the writers take on a character’s behalf. A “bad” or “evil” character isn’t going to just do anything evil. They have codes, they have belief systems, they have people they care about. So yeah I will call out ooc behavior and that was not Lestat and is no version of him that has ever existed.

OOC: I found this article about singer UA. She’s being honored by Billboard as part if it’s “Women In Music” series. In this article she talks about how pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood shaped her early career.
For those of you that don’t know, UA is Nijiro Murakami’s mother.
Here are a few of the things she has to say about how Nijiro coming into her life changed her.
You became a fan of Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin in your teenage years and went on to make your debut as a singer on stage. Your hit single “Jounetsu” came out in 1996, and the following year you gave birth to your first child, (actor) Nijiro Murakami. You then formed the band AJICO with Kenichi Asai in 2000, so looking at the timeline alone, it must have been a very eventful time. How did pregnancy and childbirth affect your career?
Looking back chronologically like that, it certainly was a turbulent time. [Laughs] But you see, I’m actually the type of person who insists on taking adequate time off, so after making an album and touring with it, I was allowed to take a proper break. I knew from the beginning that I’d burst if I kept working all the time. I was still young when Nijiro was born, so I think I took about three months off, then started easing back to work.
I witnessed something so pure and beautiful and clear in (Nijiro’s) new life. Also, some horrific incidents happened (in Japan in 1997), and it felt like the world was changing rapidly. The single I released before childbirth was “Amai Unmei” (“Sweet Destiny”), a song with lyrics about wanting to leave things up to a “sweet” fate, but after childbirth, I wanted to sing about a dystopian world in a vivid way, so “Kanashimi Johnny” (“Sad Johnny”) was born.
The experience of pregnancy and childbirth and the time I was able to put into it were like gifts to me. He was my first child and raising a child was a real challenge. I kind of feel like I inconvenienced Nijiro, and would like to apologize to him for some things now. In any case, the experience was like being allowed to practice becoming a parent while still being a kid myself.

Thank you for the ask! I've never actually considered making any of the Life Series characters Avatars before, so you'll have to forgive me if this is bad in any way (also. I am not an avid Jimmy watcher in terms of the Life Series unfortunately, so please bear that in mind, haha).
With End!Jimmy, I feel like the most obvious way to make him an End Avatar would be utilising his whole 'canary in a coal mine' symbolism (which, admittedly, could also work very well for the Buried, but that's not what we're focusing on here). I feel like that would make him something like a herald or harbinger of death, in some way - where he goes, death inevitably follows. Maybe those close to him inevitably end up dying rather horrifically, most likely when he's actually physically around them. Maybe because of that, he himself can never truly die - although he can certainly experience the fear of death, and come very close to dying. Or, hell, maybe he does actually die, and ends up being brought back by the End! I think that'd be pretty fun.
Only thing is, I doubt he'd exactly be a willing Avatar - that seems a little ooc, at least to me. Maybe he was just. A guy who accidentally got wrapped up in the End's bullshit and now is having to deal with the fact he's a walking death sentence - that could be both very fun and incredibly painful! However, I am aware that's quite a bit similar to how The Hermit Archives does Jimmy, so that's uh. less than a creative decision on my part, haha. Overall I think there's a lot of ways you could do End!Jimmy, and I hope you like the ideas I've spat out here!

Yeah people are just jerks, anon, and some of the hatred about people not writing characters 'right' has been a lot like anti behaviour, complete with harassment on AO3, and the people doing it don't think they're in the wrong. I left those servers fast, let me tell you. I hate some of the fics in my fandom and hate the way people see the characters. it makes me roll my eyes and bitch in a private group chat. I'm a hater, and I know it. I always have been.
But at the same time, these people are having fun. It does not matter at the end of the day. All I have to do is mute or block the authors so I don't see them on AO3, and go talk in a different channel when they're going on about the characters in a way I hate.
It's annoying. But if some 14 year old kid, a person writing on their break from a stressful job, a stay at home parents looking for escapism, whatever, wants to write a hundred cheesy AU's in ways you think are OOC good for them. Be annoyed, then go write what you want to see. As the anon above mentioned it's escapism. We don't get to decide how someone else uses fandom no matter how much it annoys us
I've been in fandom for decades, and no matter how long I'm here, I'm never going to understand why a stranger writing a fic or character in a way you don't warrants harassment, bullying, or cruelty. Grow up and bitch to friends like everyone else, or better yet, write the fic you want to see, or support authors you like.
When I was on maternity leave with my kids I wrote more than ever before. And with my first? I wrote a long, fluffy, coffee shop AU, as I was battling severe post-partum issues, and it brought me a level of joy and relaxation. I'm sure some people hated it and thought it was OOC, but it helped me stay sane. That sounds dramatic, but being able to type away at my silly little story when the rest of my thoughts were horrific? Helped more than I can say, and while I wouldn't want to write or read that fic or anything like it now, it was exactly what I needed at the time. With my second child I wrote a 300k dark fic with all the archive warnings. My third I wrote a long canon divergence that I worked incredibly hard to keep in character. But that first mat leave fic of a fluffy little coffee shop? Still my favourite, even if it's not perfectly in character by any means.
Writing fic is escapism. To the people who are annoyed by OOC fics? Hard same, even though I'm guilty of it myself. To the people who are actually angry about what someone else is doing with their free time and those who harass others? Get off the internet for awhile. You don't know why someone is writing something and, frankly, it's not your business.

Hey Puddles! Just finished the new installment of Whistle in the Dark and wow wow wow
First of all I am such a S L U T for soft!joel
Second, I was married to man who was physically abusive to me and you really hit this right on the head. The feeling of possessiveness, of a debt owed, of "You won't have anything unless I give it to you" is so spot on it made my stomach hurt a little.
I really appreciate your note at the end. I've never been one to shy away from a scrap, but when my husband was the one throwing blows I was literally frozen to the spot. It's hard for me to wrap my head around why that was my response even 15 years later.

Not a rant AT ALL. Thank you so so so so so much for sharing this and your thoughts. I have been sitting with this message in my inbox for a few days now bc I wanted to give myself the time to process it all and respond appropriately.
Whistle in the Dark might be my softest Joel, second only to Feral Woman Joel. His character is so wonderful in all the different aspects of his personality that can be leaned into without going entirely OOC. He's such a rich character, and of course Pedro Pascal brought a whole new wave of inspiration with his interpretation of him.
I'm sorry to hear about your past relationship. I'm happy you're away from that and in a safer place. Unfortunately as you know, those experiences stay with the victim - even if they receive support or therapy or whatnot. Not saying it has to control your life, but it etches itself into the deepest parts of the brain for sure.
Anyone who has been in a situation like that before (or perhaps has seen it secondhand through parents or a friend) knows all too well how you struggle with what you "should do" and what you end up doing in the moment. The secret is, there's no right answer when you're with an abusive person. You will never be perfect because they will never accept anything no matter how hard you try to be "good." It's a lose-lose situation.
I knew I was on the right track when I was writing when my stomach also did that uncomfortable clench and turn. Although it was difficult to write at times, I wanted to give the story the realism and care that the themes call for.
I'd also like to point out that the reader/OC in WitD is a very strong individual. She endured horrific circumstances at the hands of her family before ending up in a survival team situation with Matthew. She works patrols in Jackson and is incredibly capable (I think back to the first installment where Joel had taken the time to help her learn to shoot better, and her marksmanship notably improved with the support). She's resourceful, a quick learner, and reliable, and she still has a good heart despite all the things she's been through.
The note at the end was meant to redirect any upset at the appropriate source (in this case, Matthew). I think it's common for the kneejerk reaction to be "why didn't you run?" or "you should've fought back!" because that's ultimately what we wish for the character or person in this circumstances: a deep desire for them to escape it somehow. Because human emotions are difficult and messy, this often comes out as victim blaming when it's merely the energy being directed in the wrong place. (Of course there are people who do blame victims. I'm not talking about those assholes.)
The concept of "no perfect victim" comes to mind with the third installment. If she freezes or doesn't fight back, she's weak or stupid. If she fights back or tries to get out of it, she's setting herself up for failure because he's bigger/stronger/etc. There's no right answer.
There's no right answer because there never is when you're with an abusive person.

C!Tommy’s Storyline With C!Dream Is A Very Concerning Depiction Of Abuse
Wild Title 
Okay, I’m sure that this probably isn’t too new information for anyone paying attention to the overall story of the DreamSMP, especially C!Tommy’s storyline, but I figured I’d give my two cents for this anyways. 
C!Tommy is an Abuse Victim who has gone through horrific stuff at the hands of C!Dream. This is not an arguable fact. regardless of if C!Dream had reasons for doing what he did, if C!Dream also later gets abused, or if ultimately the abuse portrayal could be considered in some ways flawed or unrealistic, that stuff doesn’t ultimately matter. Because we’ve seen what happened to C!Tommy during Exile, have seen the physical, emotional, and mental abuse he was put through. Just because they won’t call it Abuse doesn’t mean it isn’t Abuse.
Now, C!Tommy being an abuse victim is an interesting idea from a storytelling perspective. It has a lot of potential to lead to genuine character development, or to affect relationships and story beats in interesting ways. And it could be an interesting way to really say something about abuse and coping with it. 
And to an extent, an argument could be made that it has, though I’d argue the exact way those are handled in canon, but not the point. The point is, abuse is not just something that you get to gloss over. If you want to include themes of abuse in the story, a story you are making available to the public for millions to see, then there needs to be a clear and obvious message being portrayed with including abuse in the story. Preferably, that abuse is bad, and can have majorly negative effects on anyone, especially children. We don’t always get that lucky, but whatever. 
But, from my months of watching the story of the DreamSMP, and trust me I’ve been here a long while, I haven’t seen C!Tommy’s abuse being handled very... well. I could, of course, be wrong in some aspects, and maybe be misremembering stuff since this dumpster fire has been happening for a year now, and feel free to correct me or bring up more points if you know something I don’t. But, I still think that overall, I have a point of view that should be considered. 
So basically, C!Tommy is an abuse victim, right? this is easy to see, very obvious in the way he acts and behaves. Or... is it? 
Abuse is a complex topic and one that, in real life, presents itself in all sorts of forms. Many abuse victims were raised in unloving homes and ended up becoming more vulnerable to abuse later on in life as a result of that. Others never properly learned how to express emotions or turn people down and got taken advantage of. Others were abused from the start, and develop various ways of coping and dealing with that, even ways that they might not be fully conscious of themselves. Abuse is not a one-way street, it could hardly be considered a street at all given how diverse and differing the people who experience it end up developing into are. 
So I’m not saying that, if C!Tommy were a real person, that he isn’t “Being traumatized enough” or that “Why isn’t he more like what I expect him to be like?”. That is not what I’m saying at all.
What I am saying, is that C!Tommy is a fictional character who exists within a narrative, a story. And in a good story, consistency is half the battle. I, as the audience consuming the story, need to be able to look at C!Tommy and pick up on and understand the effects abuse has had on him. And these effects need to be consistent, otherwise, as an audience member, I’m going to get confused and start having questions about why he acts one way here but doesn’t somewhere else.
I also need to be able to clearly see and understand, by being given narrative stepping stones, if something is changing for his character.
As the saying goes, “Show don’t tell”. C!Tommy can’t just say he “Goes to Puffy for Therapy” offhandedly one time, as a means of handwaving away why he doesn’t really consistently act as traumatized as he used to even though it’s literally only been a few weeks, or months at most. To explain how he can jump back between being really sad and depressed about something, to joking about Women and Twitter. It seems weird if he’s able to just so seamlessly, so effortlessly, go back and forth. Almost as if he’s bouncing between OOC and IC, but that’s a whole other discussion. 
Sure, C!Tommy is representing real mental health issues, but he is, ultimately a Fictional Character existing in a story. I need to be given signs, proof, foreshadowing, to explain when he has certain reactions and behaviours in order to understand his character. And these need to be consistent, otherwise we get plotholes and general confusion.
I criticize the inconsistency and the offscreen handwaving because it’s generally not very good writing. It’s the same reason I disliked Eret’s basically off-screen-sort-of-redemption-arc. It’s the same reason people dislike it when Villains of previous seasons suddenly come back as fully reformed good guys for seemingly no reason. There is no arc, no development, no progress is shown to us. 
Because when you’re telling a story about a character having some major change or developing in some way, or having an important character trait, if I don’t see it on screen, then it didn’t happen. How am I supposed to root for C!Tommy’s progress, or understand what he’s doing to progress, if a never see his coping mechanisms? His therapy appointments? 
You can’t just say something, or inconsistently portray something, and expect me to jump through hoops to connect these nearly transparent dots that keep getting thrown around. 
Show don’t tell. Show me Tommy getting better, because otherwise you’re just telling me he made character development, and showing me this completely different character as proof. No, last I remembered C!Tommy was having panic attacks and yelling when C!Dream was even mentioned. You can’t tell me that a day later he can interact normally after days of being in the prison and a month of being dead.
Or, if you are gonna have him flip flop back and forth, don’t have it be so sudden and jarring, give an explanation. Is he faking being fine? Does he have memory issues? C!Tommy doesn’t read to me as the type who’s good at suppressing his emotions, he wears his heart on his sleeve. So you’re going to have to explain, clearly, in a way that isn’t ambiguous, what’s happening with C!Tommy here.
You’re not really saying anything about the abuse C!Tommy goes through, if all of that trauma is automatically wiped from the story when the writers get too lazy or too scared to keep it in. At best, you are showing abuse and trauma for the sole purpose of showing it, with no intention of properly dealing with and addressing it in the story. At worst, you are basically just doing torture porn. 
Pain, Hurt, Trauma for the sake of it. Not with any goal in mind. Just for the drama of it, or to hurt the audience. 
And then your audience is just supposed to take that content in uncritically, and they gain no true understanding of how abuse victims survive and cope after their traumatic treatment.
Exile Arc sure did a good job at making C!Tommy suffer. But as soon as that arc ended, a lot of the stuff that happened in it went completely glossed over and unaddressed for a long while. That might have been fine in the lead-up to Doomsday, since a lot of plot stuff had been going on and stopping to handle C!Tommy’s issues might (Might is heavily doubted cause it certainly isn’t impossible) mess with the pacing a bit. But then after Doomsday, there isn’t really any excuse to put it off. Because nothing was really happening for a good while, and nobody had anything to do plotwise. 
And this became even more true with C!Dream being locked in Prison. Nothing was really happening, so what was stopping the story from taking the time to properly discuss and deal with this stuff?
Well, nothing really. So, the Hotel Arc happened. And oh boy, was it a mess. 
So, C!Tommy being angry at C!Dream for the abuse and trauma he has suffered at Dream’s hand isn’t an issue. It’s an incredibly common thing for victims to feel angry at their abusers, and to even go so far as to wish for vengeance against them in some way. And that’s a totally valid and fine feeling. 
You’re hurting, you’re scared, you’re in pain. I get that. When we’re hurting, we don’t always act rationally or healthily.
But, ultimately, that rage, and hurt, and want for vengeance is not a healthy thing to hold onto. In many circumstances with an abuse victim wanting to inflict pain back on their abuser, we run into various problems. 
For one, getting vengeance on your abuser is quite frequently going to give you more emotional pain than it will fulfilment. Especially if you are young, or are letting this want for vengeance take over your entire livelihood. It does you no good ultimately, to attempt to bring pain to the person who hurt you, because not only will you often be unsuccessful, you frequently won’t find emotional healing and stability in that. 
(The only exception to this rule being if ignoring them or moving on from them isn’t an option for you right now.)
Actions have consequences, and if you invest more time in that person who hurt you, then you have no time to work on yourself or the relationships around you. You have no time to heal, and this can become self-destructive.
Spending time around an abuser, as a victim, is in all likelihood just going to upset you more. You’re retraumatizing yourself by spending time around them, and as you make attempts to give them their comeuppance, you could possibly end up internalizing the methods they used on you, and just end up perpetuating the cycle of abuse again. 
And even if you have no problem with doing that to this particular person, consider how fully internalizing these abusive behaviours could affect your friends or family. Frequently, even when they don’t mean to, abuse victims can internalize the things that they went through and then use those same behaviours against people in their life later on. Being shitty to your support system because of what you went through isn’t a good move, for you or them.
Basically just, an Abuse Victim has more to gain from working on themselves while finding ways to heal and overcome their trauma and abuse, than they do spending their time and energy on the abuser. Its frequently unhealthy, distressing, and self-destructive to indulge in that too much.
(Of course, I don’t speak for everyone, but from what iIve looked into and seen, this is the healthiest method of actually healing from your abuse. That doesn’t mean you just... leave your abuser alone and never address or talk about what they did, you don’t let them get away with it, of course not. It just means you don’t waste your mental well being and time obsessing over someone, especially someone who has hurt you so much.
You deserve better than that. You deserve to heal.)
Now, let’s get back to C!Tommy. 
C!Tommy, instead of finding a proper means of coping with his issues (proper therapy, diagnosis for his issues, forming and maintaining healthy support systems, focusing on things he loves, etc) is shown to repeatedly focus back on C!Dream. When he was making Big Innit Hotel, it did seem like he was to an extent finding ways to cope with his shit. He was still kinda shitty and his hotel was not exactly made and run by the most morally great standards, though I suppose I can’t expect too much when he is a very traumatized teen and doesn’t really know what he’s doing. 
But, ultimately, this all fell apart when he got locked in Pandora’s Vault with C!Dream. Arguably, it was already falling apart the moment he decided to keep pursuing C!Dream even when he was locked up.
See, the thing is, C!Tommy can never just… have trauma. Having trauma that he can healthily and methodically work through is something that for him as a Character, is basically impossible. His character is an angry one, one built on spite and childishness, and who holds the mantle, unfortunately, of “Spunky Male Protagonist In A YA Novel”. So, his mental health issues can never just be a struggle he has to cope with, especially not when the DreamSMP can never seem to have anything between “A lot is happening right now omg” or “Literally nothing is happening and nobody is playing on the server at all omg”.
Instead, his issues have to be seen as a battle, and they fuel the narrative of the story. Him having been abused by C!Dream cannot just exist as a thing that he as a person has to work through slowly with the help of others around him. It has to be seen as this Epic Triumph Against Evil, another battle of Tommyinnit VS Dream on the DreamSMP, a classic Villain versus Hero fight.
This, of course, isn’t too great. By C!Tommy’s abuse plotline being framed in this manner, it makes it so that C!Tommy is constantly obsessing over his abuser and recklessly throwing himself into dangerous and triggering situations is some attempt at an “Epic Battle With Evil”, rather than this being treated like the self-harm it actually is. And yes, it is self-harm, a form of it. 
C!Tommy uses his trauma and issues as fuel for the story, making it so that its impossible for him to truly progress and a character, and the moment he does start growing, he has to get retraumatized again so he goes right back to where he was.
C!Tommy does not become a better person when he’s around C!Dream, nor does he find any form of fulfilment in being around him. He gets shaky and panicky at just the sight of him. He regularly has violent and explosive outbursts at just the mention of him. When C!Dream talks to him, he gets nervous and basically can’t help but listen due to conditioning he still listens to. 
When C!Tommy went to go visit C!Dream the first time in Pandora’s Vault, he brought with him stacks of TnT. He did it because he wanted to mimic what C!Dream had done to him in Exile, where he would take all of C!Tommy’s newly gained items and blow them up underground for dramatic effect. 
C!Dream did this for control over C!Tommy, to manipulate him, for his suffering.
And C!Tommy wanted to do this to C!Dream, because he was feeling vindictive. 
When C!Tommy got into the prison, he mocked C!Dream, hit him repeatedly, and tried to boss him around. He made him write ridiculous books and verbally berated the man. He did this in a feeble attempt to gain some feeling of control over C!Dream. This, evidently, did not work. At best his success was momentary. And this sense of achievement he gained was gained through projecting his abuse trauma onto someone else.
He repeated the cycle. 
After he got brought back from the dead and let out of the prison, he was much much worse. C!Tommy was now paranoid, anxious, constantly thinking about C!Dream, and had his mindset solely on getting revenge on him, by killing him. 
It got so bad, he ended up doing lacklustre “Exposure Therapy” to help himself not panic when he went into Pandora’s Vault to kill C!Dream. It got so bad he dragged C!Tubbo and C!Ranboo into this, putting them in danger and putting more pressure on another two teenagers’ shoulders. 
It got so bad, that Ghostbur died, C!Sam closed off even more, and C!Wilbur came back. 
Objectively, C!Tommy leaving C!Dream alone would be the better thing for everyone. And yet he keeps repeating the cycle. Because C!Tommy is not meant to grow, learn and heal. He is made to suffer. 
The problem is not so much showing an unhealthy depiction of a mentally ill or traumatized person. Because trauma and mental illness and the effects of abuse are not always pretty, and they shouldn’t always have to be portrayed and pretty or sympathetic to be accurate. 
It becomes a problem when you get this depiction of C!Tommy’s coping being presented uncritically to an audience of a lot of underaged and young people. 
Nobody in canon, whether they be adults or fellow teens, has ever tried to question C!Tommy’s methods for coping. C!Ranboo and C!Tubbo just limply went along with his plans for Exposure Therapy with no consideration of if this was a good idea. No adults really offer to genuinely step in and help C!Tommy deal with his shit, and the ones that do leave him or get corrupted in some way, often leaving him with more trauma as they do. 
C!Puffy’s therapy methods are dubious at best, and the most we ever see of her actually helping C!Tommy is her humouring his toxic behaviours, and C!Tommy making offhanded mentions to vague therapists appointments we never see. 
C!Technoblade stopped giving a shit as soon as C!Tommy walked off the screen. C!Wilbur was dead, and now that he isn’t he certainly isn’t helping C!Tommy. C!Phil isn’t C!Tommy’s dad and has no obligation to do anything for him as a result. C!Ranboo has the backbone of a chocolate eclair. C!Tubbo is too busy repressing his own trauma to help C!Tommy with his. C!Sam is being ruled by the prison and C!Quackity. C!Quackity has become an Ancap. 
Nobody in this story is a reliable or trusted person to C!Tommy, who could properly tell him his methods are unhealthy and give him better alternatives. And as a result, nobody is able to tell the audience that C!Tommy is wrong 
Unreliable Narrators are only effective when the narrative in some way has their unreliableness pointed out or proven to the audience. If you go into a story with the assumption that everybody watching will be able to see past C!Tommy’s POV and not take him at face value, then you are naive. Especially when this fandom is made up of many teens and children. 
I only know C!Tommy’s methods are unhealthy because I care way too much and do my research. A vast majority of the world doesn’t have the same understanding and education on these topics, especially not children and teenagers. A good chunk of people, especially neurodivergent and mentally ill people, could very well take the story at face value and automatically assume that what Tommy’s doing is actually a good coping mechanism because they don’t know any better.
There is no clarification or safety net for preventing misinterpretation. And being of the opinion that “Well, they should know better than to trust a bunch of Minecraft Youtubers for this stuff” or “We can’t expect them to be psychologists! You expect too much” is just… not helping. 
Because I shouldn’t have to explain why children and teenagers, especially those that are using these people to cope, are not always going to make level-headed and common-sense decisions. They will be influenced by these Content Creators, whether we think it’s “Stupid” or not. 
And I can say with certainty that, while yes, this might be a bit much to expect from a bunch of British/American white guys who play Minecraft to handle, may I also point out that nobody fucking made them put this stuff in the story. There are ways to write a story without stepping outside of your realm of true understanding. Nobody begged these MCYTs to go and make torture porn for a 16 year old, nobody asked them to touch on topics they have no fucking clue about. 
They put that in themselves. And we have the right to point out the problems and flaws in it, and criticize them for not handling this stuff better. 
You don’t start applying for a job you don’t meet the requirements for. You don’t start an expensive project you can’t finish. 
You don’t include elements in a story you aren’t willing to fully go through with and address in a proper and sensitive way.
