your coworker was right because 1) jisung fixed your issue within 5 minutes 2) you watched him fix problems for 3 other people WHILE he was helping you

which is how you get to know him because you have a week where all of your technology, equipment, etc are cursed

he doesn't expect you to buy him a coffee though

when you do, he gets the widest eyes and a huge smile on his face <333 suddenly he's so shy and thanks you softly <333

after that, he says "good morning !!" every day and will say "hi :-)" whenever he passes you in the office :,-) he still feels a lil shy after you were so nice to him, but he wants to show his appreciation by being kind to you in return <3

next thing you know though, he's talking a million miles an hour every time he sees you because he wants to be official coworker besties !

y'all end up having SO much to talk about

whenever something exciting, funny, or ridiculous happens, you are the first person he tells and vice versa

he also constantly suggests to you and asks for your recommendations on movies and shows

he wants to debrief with you every time both of you have watched something and he'll do impressions to make you laugh

sometimes he gets you in trouble because of how much he talks to you during the workday

but you don't care because it's SO refreshing to get so much serotonin from one person

outside of fun chats, he's actually a really helpful coworker

not just with fixing tech/program issues, though

if you're having a hard time putting together a workflow for a project, choosing a template for a document, or simply writing an email, jisung is by your side helping you out (and encouraging you!!)

you're also the only person in the entire company he'll go to for help

he trusts you so much actually !!! because you're the one person who doesn't put him on a pedestal for his skills. you tell him all the time how he's so talented at literally everything he does, but you like him for so many other reasons that he doesn't feel uncomfortable being himself around you

which is why, if he knows you two are the only ones in a certain area of the office, he WILL break out into song off-key

you're getting a full performance every time you are in the break room together

he especially does this when you two have to stay late because "we need to stay energized, y/n!!! where's your team spirit?"

he will become an absolute mess of laughter on the floor if you do a ridiculous performance

probably has to take a break after because he laughed so hard his stomach hurts

he'll also use you as an excuse to get out of things LOL

if someone he isn't fond of wants to meet with him to finish a report or something when they could just do it online, he'll say "oh, sorry, i'm working with y/n on a big project, so my calendar is pretty stacked. i'll review it and leave comments for you though!"

he's obviously a cool and adorable guy, so people ask him to after-work hangs a LOT. he's not mad at it, but, he isn't the biggest fan of awkward small talk with some coworkers

so he'll hit them with "ah, i wish i could, but y/n and i are going to the movies tonight, so i'll have to do a raincheck!"

he runs up to your desk and panic whispers things like "if anyone asks we're going wine tasting on friday night !!!!!"

and you're like ???? wine tasting ???

one of y'all's coworkers walks by so instead of explaining, jisung loudly says, "yeah, i heard they're suuuuuuuuuper famous for their red blend too. should be fun to see how it compares to the rest of their wine repertoire!"

you're holding back laughter at his commitment to the bit

this happens so many times you stop questioning it and play along, much to jisung's delight !!

he always assures you that you don't have to actually go anywhere with him, but you often do because it's so fun to hang out together

jisung's antics also include pranking you

like say your office does a gift exchange for the holidays. jisung begs on his KNEES to get your name

when you are handed your gift, you immediately know it's from jisung

because he's giggling and making comments like oooOOoOoOOooOOoooOoohhh let's see what you got, y/n!! open your present first!!!

he's such a silly guy he can't hide his excitement :,-)

once you open it you're both laughing your asses off because he managed to get you a rubber chicken that has a customized squeak so it's actually audio of jisung imitating a rubber chicken

for as much as you're doubled over in laughter, he is in total hysterics because he loves his own joke so much <3

jisung is legitimately the best coworker buddy you could ever ask for, and he has no clue how he survived so long at work without you

if you make any joke about quitting he'll always say "yeah if you quit i'm coming with you. you're never getting rid of me >:-)"

So, now that I finished totk, I'd like to share my insight of the game overall with y'all. Fight me or agree with me, I'd like to know other people's opinions

PROS

The soundtrack is amazing. Zelda has always been about awesome music and this is not the exception. The soundtrack plays exactly what the environment was to convey. You're exploring the sky islands? The music is then calm. You're in the depths? the music will help you shit yourself. Going even more down, looking for Ganondorf? coolest music ever, full of mystery.

World exploring. I feel like this time totk forces you to explore the world, in botw you could directly go to Ganon and beat the shit out of him with a stick, but definitely not here at all. You find yourself needing bombs so you'll have to look for caves, then you need Sundelion, so you have to go to the sky. In a certain way, I hated that for the first days because I was trying to finish the game as soon as I could, but now I appreciate it.

We have our first disabled Link! At least until the end. It was nice to see him different for once. It'd be cool if he had stayed that way.

World development. In botw, you have this whole piece of land that's mostly monsters and ruins, but in totk things have changed after the calamity disappeared. We have more people around who're in contact with each other. The places don't seem as lonely as before and even people help Link. And, did you notice there's less trees? It's a nice detail, since there's new buildings made of wood everywhere.

Fusing mechanic. Tbh, I didn't love Fuse at first, but then realized how useful it can be.

Link's clothing. There's more clothes available bc they used the botw DLC clothing, which is cool! And the new designs are... slutty.

Zelink. No one can tell me otherwise. All the signs are there, bitches!!!!

CONS

Overall, it doesn't feel like a sequel. And I hated that. Nintendo keeps giving preference towards new players and in this case, it's not worth it. I dare to declare that at least 80% of people who purchased totk played botw and knew exactly what they were getting. This especially has to do with the point below.

There's no mention of the Champions at all, the Sheikah technology is missing, and where tf are the Divine Beasts?? I get that, yeah, maybe the Champions shouldn't be thaaaaaat important anymore, yet what about everything else? Where's my Sheika Slate????????

We were promised a dark game and this isn't it, not at all. Maybe I'm tripping? But I remember clearly on the first years of development people mentioning this game would be dark like Majora's, and going back to the first two trailers I could actually see it was kinda the case. However, with the last trailer, I made a bet that they probs rejected the idea and I was right. I'd like to have something like Majora someday again.

The introduction of a new race out of nowhere. The zonai.... they weren't my piece of cake at first. It seems cheap for me, I'm not sure. I don't know if they intended to introduce something, anything, from them since botw but ended up scraping the idea, but overall the whole experience I have of them from both games is that they took the zonai out of their asses and were like "yup, we got this!"

The end was TOO happy. Like I mentioned before, I'd rather Link have his arm cut. Purah can make another one if Rauru really wanted his arm so bad. Zelda transforming back was okay, but what I didn't really get was why did Sonia and Rauru didn't turn her back before????? They instead waited until Link fought his ass hard, lol.

I hated that Zelda was thanking ME at the end instead of Link. Don't look at me, bitch, look at your boyfriend! This has to do with this other post of mine about how Nintendo can't let go of Link being an avatar despite they themselves providing depth to his character.

Hazbin Top 5

I was going to make a top 10 character list, but realized after the first 5 I didn't know where to place anyone- But in case you're curious, some contenders for the remaining 6-10, in no specific order, were Angel Dust, Charlie, Emily, Niffty, and Sir Pentious. Now here's my top 5 with reasonings and appreciation for them all!

5. Lucifer

Obviously bro is relatable, not only for his awkwardness and hyperfixations, but he also happens to be the same height as I am at about 5'2" (according to the sources I've seen). Being the same height as Lucifer is my biggest flex lmao- I still have no idea why his hatred of Alastor seemed so instant. Like yeah, Alastor was trying to annoy him by being a better dad to Charlie, but the whole 'fuck you' moment happened before any of that started. Did he just sense the bad vibes off of him or what? Anyway, his awkwardness and desperation to connect with his daughter make for probably my favorite lines of the episode, such as the "Hey bitch!" and the whole "You like girls? So do I!" situation followed by him being so distracted he called Vaggie by the wrong name. Perfect comedy

4. Lute

I love her an insane amount for someone who shows up so relatively little with so few lines, but here we are. I've already made an entire post about her, here it is if you want it, so I'll keep this short (Spoiler alert: I failed). I actually don't think I mentioned just how attractive this woman is, so let's get that out there right now. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, about half the people I've seen react to Episode 6 have seen Lute without her mask, took a pause of recognition, and we all knew what they were thinking before the pressed play. Istg my taste in women (and sometimes even men, thanks Vox) is just "Can they murder me without a second thought? Yes? That's hot". My favorite line of hers is when she's hyping up the army with Adam and says "Rip Vaggie's cunt mouth out her ass!" and even Adam has to be like "damn girl chill what the hell-" She's so feral I love her so much

3. Rosie

Everyone needs a Rosie in their lives. I don't just mean a regular therapist, I mean a person in your life, friend or family member, who will talk you out of your downward spiral and gently call you out on why those paranoid thoughts are actually pretty unrealistic (the other side of the same coin would be Husk, he's just more blunt about it). I'm also still completely convinced she has some interesting and sad backstory based on how she was talking to Charlie and I need to know about it so bad. "It can be difficult to admit to things you're not proud of, especially if those things hurt the ones you love" Ma'am what did you do? I find it hard to believe it's just about the cannibalism. I don't know if in this instance, she's the one who hurt someone or someone else hurt her and she was the one who failed to forgive them, but either way I need answers.

2. Vox

Y'all know I love this man in more ways than one, he one the hottest Hazbin character poll for a reason. But I swear everything about this man makes me love him as a character more. First, I always love a technology based character, his electricity powers and literal screen head are the coolest thing in the world to me. He's voiced by Christian Borle, which was a fantastic choice, along with the glitched effect his voice gets when he's mad, I love to see it. Apparently it's also canon he can fly (with rocket shoes)?? He just keeps getting the best character design choices possible, this can't possibly be fair- The fact his first introduction was being done with Val, telling him to call tf down, and treating him like a child ("Now that's why they pay you the big bucks!") was a pretty good first impression for me lol, made even funnier when it was followed by him losing all sense of rationalism when Alastor entered his line of sight.

1. Alastor

The character my blog is named after, this should not be a surprise. Shockingly enough, despite my obsession for him and acknowledgement of his charming nature and generally attractive design, I' do not simp for him in the slightest'm not personally attracted to him in the slightest. I simp for a TV and yet apparently deer man with permanent smile is where I draw the line idk- The most I want from him is to be as good of a friend to him as Rosie is (well that and to touch his ears but that's a given). But this is another character I love literally everything about. Who would've thought the concepts of 'radio host', 'serial killer', and 'literal deer' would work so well together to create this dapper yet terrifying fucking cryptid. Not only can he be either incredibly scary or a silly guy, he can and has done both at once. Example: Episode 3 when he's just casually eating a deer carcass in his room (in which he summoned a whole ass bayou). I was genuinely so glad when the 'this face was made for radio' thing happened in episode 1, confirming that they were still gonna lean into his creepy-as-fuck distortion and general vibe he had in the pilot. He's horrifying and evil and I love that about him. Meanwhile he also says shit like "Now he's pissy, that's the tea" (definitely taught to him by Rosie) and kicks his legs on the bed like a schoolgirl as if he hasn't committed countless atrocities. My favorite character, everyone-

I won't lie: I have no clue how anyone would meet Vox! It can go so many ways! But I think you being someone who just makes music videos on social media (think of tiktok) for fun and you were gaining a lot of traction! Maybe you also were working for someone to run their social media PR

I'm not too sure but I am one hundred percent settled on it being you having gained his attention through social media

so of course he exploited that... at least in the beginning.

he kept you WORKING until you complained and said something which was a little dispute but y'all worked out a schedule

this was the slowest of burns because the man will not admit his feelings for the love of god

most likely you having to come and call him out on his behavior because the constant stalking and assignments just to see you was getting annoying

once y'all are together it's of course not all sunshine

he is constantly bitching about Valentino or Alastor or even his consumers and employees (just a whiner honestly) but you offer occasionally advice or just listen so he has a place to vent

he is of course going to make sure you have everything up to date! and you'll probably be the safest because he knows where you are

you probably avoid trying to use his money, but wow there is suddenly a VoxTech theatre??? That is so crazy and oh my gosh what is that?? You're in charge of it all and get to manage it and do whatever!!

Hey! I’ve never used asks before so sorry if I’m not doing this correctly

I’m absolutely fascinated by your summer camp AU, but most specifically I’m very curious about how everyone reacts to Ortho. I feel like at least a few of the campers would be suspicious of Idia, especially his technology and how he goes wherever he goes to check his games, sparking a first year (or whatever they’re called here lol) investigation upon Idia. Said investigation would only make Idia better at hiding. I think it would be especially funny if either Ortho got unintentionally involved in the investigation without knowing what it’s for or Ortho begins pranking them and making them think Idia is like an all powerful being for a time. If you are inspired by any of this or you have any other ideas I would be delighted to hear about it and/or read any form of writing :) Again, I’m so sorry if I’m not doing this correctly!

Hello! I'm honored to be deemed fit to receive your first ever ask, and don't worry, you're doing great! (I don't know how to answer them either and I've been doing it for some time now)

This is such a funny idea and The Great Idia Shroud Investigation™ is now a canon event in this au.

As far as Ortho goes, everyone's definitely really intrigued by him for the first, like, week or so of camp. I wish I could draw so I could give y'all a better design for him (NEW INFORMATION: a design for him) But, he's essentially just Ortho but 16 (minus the fire hair, they do not have fire hair, Idia's definitely dyed his hair blue, undecided what color Ortho's hair is...) Anyway, he also has like the robot mask most of the time just to assist with breathing plus a couple other robot parts, (maybe an arm?) and just general robotic supports to help his body move.

Like, he can't do magic so all the technology that Idia uses is genuinely just technology. The whole thing with checking his phone is simply that he's found one (1) specific spot down near the docks that he can get signal to his phone, but he's always on his phone anyway so no one's realized that he can actually get signal there.

It's honestly questionable whether Idia's really trying to hide anything at all. The only reason he doesn't want people to know about his Spot™ is because then he'd have to deal with Cater trying to use it all the time. But, if anyone asked about his tech he'd infodump to them in a heartbeat (in the most insufferably egotistical way imaginable, but still.)

The idea of the first years (I guess they'd still be first years in this scenario?) just deciding to play super spies instead of just asking either Idia OR Ortho is so funny. Alternatively, they try to ask Ortho, but Ortho decides it's infinitely funnier just to mess with them (and he is correct)

For reference, there's definitely still electricity and whatnot at the camp. So, Ortho starts messing with the lights and hooks up like bluetooth speakers to make the other first years think Idia's like haunted or something. (Ortho also 100% convinces them that he's genuinely fully a robot at one point, possibly that Idia is too just for fun)

Sorry if this was more information than you wanted, I kind of went on a tangent! This is just such a funny idea!

finally feel like I'm at a point where I can share this idea!!! so @cookieg122 and I have been working on an AU for a few months now that's a pretty big departure from the Minecraft stuff we've been working on, as it's more of a fully-original concept instead ;o;

this story has a proper name, as well!! titled Codename: IRIS, the plot centers around a younger Khalan, who gets into gaming as a form of escape from his abusive home life and the stress of moving to a new country/big city. but he quickly finds out that the game console he was gifted actually houses a seemingly-sentient AI - of which he names Aya.

the two go on adventures through various video games to stop a different, malevolent AI that's threatening to corrupt the virtual world; all while utilizing futuristic VR technology to do so. but they also take breaks sometimes with more typical PC gaming and meet Antony along the way, who ends up being a sort of "guide" for Khalan (as the kid is pretty new to video games as a whole) :'0

unfortunately, the virtual threat does end up spreading to the real world as well, which pushes Khalan and Aya (who can move freely between the game console and his phone) to solve challenges within the city itself in a race against the clock to stop the threat - just as long as Khalan manages to get back home in time before his dad finds out;;

there's so much more to this story that I can't really cover in just a single post, but I felt like it was finally time to at least reveal the basics of this concept to y'all!! it's been a lot of fun to re-imagine these characters within a "real life" setting (taking place in an alternate version of Earth in the year 203X), though it's still very sci-fi at its core, lol.

i finished reading the three-body problem by liu cixin this week during a very ill-advised sleepless night! thoughts so far:

i am once again reaffirming my commitment to making this series my whole personality. i posted before abt this, but contrary to what my younger self would have dictated, i watched the show (netflix's 3 body problem) before reading the book, and think it's better enjoyed this way... HEAR ME OUT

liu's characters are not so much people as plot vehicles, which works for his hard sci-fi, but doesn't work as well onscreen. the netflix adaptation does a beautiful job of creating actual characters and translating a fundamentally chinese story for a global (or at least western) audience, but it also loses a great deal of the cultural beauty and literary parallels between the cultural revolution and events following first contact. both, in my opinion, are stories worth telling, just very different ones.

praise: i've missed big-brain hard sci-fi and this delivers. i made a bunch of shitty memes to express my otherwise incoherent gushing but will save those to inflict upon y'all as text posts. suffice it to say i greatly enjoyed pondering the sociological impacts of first contact and the in-depth explanations of and scientific plausibility behind the concepts only touched upon in the show.

criticism: there's some misogynistic gender essentialism and casual objectification of women/girls, mostly at the beginning. i'll allow it because he was too busy writing sick-ass science stuff to be a feminist. do not come for me i am literally a femme lesbian woman

my bigger criticism, or disagreement, i suppose, is with liu's general perspective on spacefaring aliens, which is that they would necessarily be hostile towards humans. i might be a hopeless optimist (lol, lmao even), but i strongly disagree. a society would need a high degree of cooperation — dare i say collectivization — and thus empathy to reach the level of technological achievement necessary to become a kardashev type i civilization, much less type ii or type iii. i simply can't believe that such a society would be ruled by the same barbaric attitudes that colonizers on earth had and have.

thoughts on the translation: ken liu used his footnotes judiciously and to great effect. not having read the original chinese, i can't comment on the actual translation, but the quality of writing is high, and you can tell ken is a sci-fi writer himself. excellent choice of translator.

will ramble about the show's first season and the documentary about the science behind the series, rendezvous with the future (未来漫游指南), at another time. would like to do a rewatch and need to get ready for lunch w the bestie lol.

It's funny. Often I'm told via V2K I'm only given the same energy I give to everyone involved. I'm told it's my "karma." ROTFL! All of my enemies try to portray me in vain as a "Negative Nancy" even though I only ever defend myself. Never do I start mess with anyone. So for two straight days now I've done nothing but completely ignore them all--even the V2K. Not responding in the slightest, not even mentally to all the negativity thrown my way and abuses done to my body. They always want to try and play as God in my life, so why do they never return the positivity I put out? I always show them up, proving their true intentions. I'm putting them on blast because once again I've showed the truth of their ruse. They're not giving any of us T.I.'s a "taste of our own medicine," they're not returning the energy we give them. All they're doing is showing they can't even keep their word. Had it been me being a flip flopper I would never hear the end of it from any of them. I always liked my tech classes, always a fun day when I got to solder, but even more fun when I could infodump to the class about technology. I did a wholeass photoshoot for my NES opened up and gutted for a presentation in that class and I had truly never been so engaged in a school project before that lmao.

Dream job?

Probably working in JP-ENG game localization. I applied to Sega of America just before covid hit and pretty soon after that everyone I knew there had dipped lmao. I actually really genuinely enjoy working retail (lllloved working at EB Games/Gamestop, and I've worked at three different pet stores and I would literally work at one for the rest of my life and be completely content with it, one of the most rewarding and enjoyable jobs ever tbh), but I mean. You can't really compete with the $$$ that comes with being a welder. If I had the patience I would probably go back to school for translation work, or something psychology-adjacent, I would really love to be an advocate for better education re: autism. I've worked with Fandom for their diversity shit before and am just generally super passionate about helping people get the facts straight about what ASD actually is outside of the stereotypes. But I do that anyway, so I guess it doesn't need to be an actual job lol.

So she would constantly change/alter her appearance to be the prettiest in whoever's approval she wanted most. The world wobbled and the monster screamed as the pokeball hit it on the shoulder, opening with a violent red shockwave that washed through the world, pushing everyone back. Kamado worried as the energy started to rip away, pulling back and into the ball, and he watched the body crumple in on itself as Emmet got up from where the shockwave had knocked him down and knew that Beni would handle him as long as Kamado handled the monster.

The ball started to close, and for a moment Kamado thought that it had worked before energy rushed through the world again and the ball broke in half. The body was surrounded with blinding white, but Kamado did not look away. The technology had failed, but the monster was disoriented, coughing and weak, and he could end this.

He stepped forward, running, even as he heard his own people cry out to stop him and shook off hands with no care for who they belonged to as he watched Beni move to Emmet, dagger in hand, and Kamado put his sword through the monster’s throat.

A gash opened, and instead of blood, power flowed out. Time felt frozen as Kamado saw red rush into the monster’s eyes and limbs explode from its back. He watched the power race up the metal and touch his hand and he saw everything and he saw nothing and he knew—

What did he know?

He had not been paranoid enough.
