“By criminal, do you mean... Like, someone who does bad things?”
“You ever hear of a criminal who does good things?”

Film Recommendation: 22/11/23
Kaitō Ruby (dir. Makoto Wada, Japan, 1988)
Tumblr media
A hidden gem beginning to gain its rightful flowers. Following Hiroyuki (Hiroyuki Sanada), an average blue-collar worker, and his eclectic and beautiful neighbour, Rumi Kaitō (Kyoko Koizumi), the film bumbles through their failed hijinks as they struggle and often fail to become a pair of master thieves. This cult comedy is perfectly silly and delightfully clever, balancing wit, character work and pitch-perfect direction effortlessly.

P3RE Aikoto News
We got an influx of news today, so here is my attempt at gathering all the Aikoto ones! 😭
Portrait + Full Body Renders
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aigis' render is finally out and they look really good together!
Aeon Social Link Confirmed
Tumblr media
Source: Famitsu
Famitsu were so excited about it that they literally put in the article title lol Thanks Famitsu!
Security Camera Recordings Confirmed
Tumblr media
So we'll get to see this moment, too.

P3P Version of the Shrine Festival Confirmed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which means we may get to see Aikoto hand-holding:

The "Live" Scene from P3M4 may or may not be in the game
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way Makoto turns back is very reminiscent of this scene in the movies, so I'm thinking it's possible that they're adding it. It's worth noticing that in that same Famitsu interview linked above, Wada directly talks of the movies as works that allowed them to delve deeper into characters, and suggests that elements from them will find their way to P3R.

Aikoto at School
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks to Famitsu, we briefly get to see Aikoto at school. This scene has been kept the same as in the original game, so Aigis has her usual seat by Makoto's side.
Aigis Character Profile
Tumblr media
As always, her profile includes a line about her unusual attachment to Makoto. Here is the official translation available in the international Atlus P3RE Website:

Aigis Edition
Tumblr media
They are literally releasing an "Aigis Edition" that includes an Aigis figurine 😂 The Atlus Shop in Japan also has another Limited Edition on sale that includes all this plus a Makoto Mug, a Makoto Tapestry and a Calendar. They really know how to target our wallets.
Tumblr media
You can see all the details in Atlus' Japanese Shop, HERE.
DLC Aikoto
Tumblr media
Tiny extra detail but you gotta love how Aikoto are featured here. Hopefully we'll get a look at their full DLC costumes soon!
Edit;
The first two P3RE Figures are Aikoto! The Aigis figure is by Atlus and the Makoto one is by Kotobukiya.

Cosmo Hoshimaru (1985) by Maki Takagaki and Makoto Wada. Cosmo Hoshimaru is the mascot for the Tsukuba Expo '85. The design was originally created for a student design competition and subsequently perfected by illustrator Makoto Wada, a member of the Expo selection committee. Cosmo comes in pink and blue. "Expo ’85 in Tsukuba, Japan brought us the whimsical Cosmo Hoshimaru, created by junior high school student Maki Takagaki as part of a design contest. The somewhat shy-looking planet appeared on many Expo ’85 publications and helped promote the theme “Dwellings and Surroundings – Science and Technology for Man at Home.” – From Pelican to Plankton: A brief history of Expo Mascots, by Urso Chappell.
"About a year prior to the Expo's opening date, Namco hurriedly made plans to host their own pavilion at Expo '85. Namco's pavilion would showcase their creations with a lineup of cutting edge robots taking center stage. Unfortunately, this plan never came to fruition, and in the end, Namco shifted their involvement in the expo from technology to entertainment, acting as one of the handful of companies operating Hoshimaru Land, a temporary amusement park named and themed after Expo '85 mascot Cosmo Hoshimaru. Namco produced a small number of roaming robots in the likeness of Cosmo Hoshimaru, at least one of which is still operational today. Additionally, Namco acted as a sponsor and co-organizer of the First World Micromouse Contest, hosted during the expo and operated a game center inside the park." – The Futuristic Robot Band You Didn’t Know Existed: The History & Lost Media of Namco’s ‘PiCPAC’, by VideoDojo.
Cosmo Hoshimaru can be operated by remote control for shows, games, and quiz competitions. You can also speak through the robot using the wireless microphone. Visitors can play games with Hoshimaru by pressing the buttons on its disk. It can play rock-paper-scissors, pong, and a 'melody chaser' game where you follow the lamps to create a melody.
