I may not be able to take legal measures against the woman who abandoned her disabled senior dog to die on the side of the road, but unfortunately for her, I don't only rely on legal measures. And even more unfortunately for her, I know her name.
I decided to go all out in the end and used an Effigy Candle, a Binding Cord spun from black wool, an "Itching Powder" (made from Calamus, Poison Oak, and the bones of a Roadkill Snake), an "Imprisonment Ring" made from old Lead, eight Steel Pins, and one iron Cursing Nail quenched in "Malefice Oil" (made from Castor, Cubebs, Nettle, Sloe Thorns, and Poison Hemlock).
It's been a good while since I've undertaken truly baneful magic, but I've sadly been given reason to change that. So, I suppose, here is to my first hex of 2024. May it even the scales.

god I hope so, I desperately want to see Briar Valley and whatever family member they throw at us. and if it's Baul I hope he's the exact same sprite but with, like, a mustache crudely pasted on. that's how he looks in my head and in my heart.
my entire KINGDOM to see one or both of Sebek's parents though, they are the best characters in all of Twst and they haven't shown up even once. 😭 though I think I might prefer his dad, because 1) show me the noodley dentistman, and 2) Mrs. Z is such a mythical figure in my mind at this point that reality could never compare (w-what if she gets a canon design and she isn't a hundred feet tall and could crack the earth by flexing her thighs, how could I go on) (jk jk she's so great that I would love her no matter what) (but also...)

When grandma Maleficia hears that her grandson is planning to propose, she thinks it's time to hand over one of the greatest heirlooms in their family.
Grandma: "It is your turn to hold on to this, dear. Your mother used it to propose to her husband, as I did to mine. This tradition dates back to the very first Draconia: the Thorn Witch herself. May this bring you everlasting happiness and a lifetime of blessings."
🐉: "Many thanks, my most kindly grandmother. May our glory give me strength."
... And he dismantles it to repurpose it into a design he made himself. Absolutely crumbles the huge gem into pieces because he thinks it's tacky and waaaay too unfashionable for his future spouse to wear on their beautiful finger.
But his main reason?
"My family's history is part of me, but it is not me. I am offering myself for my beloved to accept, and so this ring must be a reflection of who I am."
When grandma heard of what her idiot of a grandson did to an artifact that predates even the most ancient of civilizations, she was livid. Extremely furious. She had to order an entire reconstruction work to her castle because the amount of damage her outburst did to it was beyond anyone's magical ability to repair.
But when she calmed down and received a photo of the moment Malleus slipped on the ring to his beloved's finger, a little smile crept on her lips.
"... Not bad."
Perhaps it was time for a little fashion update for the rickety old thing, after all.

You were having tea with Malleus’ Grandma, Queen Maleficia.
The Queen looked at you with a solemn stare.
You knew what she was referring to.
Humans and Fae, eventually one will live without the other. The end result would always be pain…
…but you believe otherwise.
You straightened your posture and stared the Queen on.
“It won’t be easy but there will always be love. I would rather live till the end of my days by his side then run away from the fear of pain.”
You closed your eyes and smiled as you recalled your fiancée’s face from that morning.
“Besides, I believe no matter how many lifetimes I live, I will always find and love him.”
The Queen stared you, the echoes of her daughter and son-in-law could be seen in your and her grandson's form.
The Queen recalled the determined stare and words her grandson had stated when she had told him the same.
Queen Maleficia smiled, the love that had been missing for so long in the castle, in Briar Valley, has finally returned.
“In you two, I can believe true love exists again.”

This may be an unpopular opinion, but if you use malefic magic all the time willy-nilly, then either you don't really believe in the consequences of your magic, or you are an agressively unbalanced person.
While I'm far from the sort of practitioner who clutches my pearls at the thought of "dark" magic, I also think there is very much a particular time and place for it. I view it pretty much the same way as I view mundane aggressive behavior; sometimes you need to be able to stand up for yourself or others, but that doesn't mean you should be violent whenever you feel like it, and especially not when it's just to get what you want. After all, would people think it's at all normal or admirable for someone to go on about how they like to hurt or coerce others in a non-magical capacity?
In short, I think people should be just as suspicious and wary of those who casually embrace maleficia like it's no big deal as they would be of those who insist that any sort of baleful magic is evil and will incur the wrath of "karma".

idk man but maleficia's extremely suspicious to me right now because what have you been doing all these years? let's say even before meleanor was born, what kind of ruling has she been doing? when meleanor died, what did you do??? if you're so focused and busy with briar valley's affairs to even look after your own grandson, why is there barely any progress in the kingdom's ideology and the issue between humans and faes took CENTURIES to be solved?
with how the senate handled lilia, malleus, and meleanor's case, i highly doubt maleficia still has control over the country. because if you're the queen, the highest ruler, why do you have to request an exiled former general to look after YOUR grandson behind the senate's back? there's something extremely wrong. then you just let the senate take back the said grandson knowing very well how much lilia matters to him.
malleus said before that, while he's part of the top 5 most powerful mages in twisted wonderland, he can't surpass his grandmother's. but then we learn that maleficia can't even surpress malleus' magic barrier while HE WAS STILL IN THE EGG????? then you hid the truth from him for years for WHAT???? what are you trying to achieve????
briar valley is WAY behind the modern world's evolution. while they excel in magic, the civilization is SMALL. maleficia what are you, or rather, what have you been doing? and may i add. levan, who has a lower title is trying (and i dare say successfully) to make ends meet between fae and human. like okay there has been humans living in briar valley now but at what cost?
IF crowley is indeed levan then he's been really successful in his agenda. species of different kind and capabilities all under one establishment and working together.
