Hi ! How are you ? ✨
I love your contenu ! Reading about the Gojo family is so comforting, your blog has become my safe place. 💜 besides, I think twins who look like y/n with their father's character can be super funny 🤣 poor y/n who will have a lot to worry about
I don't know if the requests are open so if they are closed ignore this part : How was y/n officially introduced to the Gojo parents as a wife? We know that the parents were not happy that he broke his engagement with Tachibana but after the marriage with y/n? Marrying the head of the clan makes her someone high in the society of exorcists?
Ps : I'm really sorry for my broken English I'm French and I still have difficulties 🥲

Kaleidoscope Series—Clouds and Mochi Chapters { Wife }
—Gojo Satoru X Reader
Tumblr media
𑁍 Synopsis:
"Mother..." Your Mother-in-Law stood at the door with a soft look on her face. Neither of you had to say a word to understand what you are feeling.
"You are the wife of Gojo Satoru—the strongest sorcerer of his generation. Do you now understand the power you hold?" She took your hand into her own. "My son would do anything for you, anything. So you have to be strong my child. For your family."
He would raise high heaven and hell for you if you just ask him.
𑁍 Genre: angst, family theme, fluff
𑁍 CW/TW: (1.8k)— Y/n threatening the Tachibana Clan, violence directed not to reader, Marika & Tachibana Clan's punishment
𑁍 A/N: Hi sweetheart! I finally got a small breather since february, thesis defended, exams finished, but we have an upcoming ball and the deadline is killing me, but all is well~ how about you? Awiee thank you very much, it feels like it's been so long since I wrote for the mochis! In a semi-hiatus but this one sounds cute I can't resist. No worries I understand your English very well~✨
Tumblr media
I don't think you fully grasp the power you hold.
Wife of the strongest sorcerer. Madame of the Gojo Clan.
It's easy for you to be overlooked because of Satoru. And while for others that could be the power your husband has over you, for you it was a  blessing in disguise. You didn't have to associate yourself with political matters, not when Satoru is solely recognized in the Gojo Clan.
But it wasn't a smooth ride. No one would understand until they see it with their own eyes.
Satoru held your cold hand as the two of you ascend the stairs of the huge Gojo Residence. The stairs leading to the main hall where Satoru's parents are waiting seem to be too steep for you.
"Should I carry you? I know your knees are still weak from last night." Satoru teased with a sly grin and a knowing look behind those glasses of his.
It barely eased you but you couldn't hide the blush on your cheeks.
"You better shut your mouth or else I'll castrate you when we get home." You hissed and walked again.
That's right. You have Satoru. You have your husband. You're married and no one else can deny that.
But as you walk inside the large hall, too large for the two people waiting inside, but too suffocating with their conspicuous eyes trained on you.
You could feel your heart drum from the simple move of sitting in a seiza manner in front of them. They don't have to try hard in exuding the aura of indifference and eloquence, something they are born and raised with as an elite family of sorcerers. A clear difference between your worlds apart.
Their world you are not acquainted with.
"Y/n is my wife now." Satoru didn't hesitate to speak. He declared, looking them straight in the eyes. "I will never marry anyone else besides her."
Your heart pounded so hard you swear it would jump out of your rib cage. You know that but it feels different when your husband put it into words. The intensity it holds could shatter and build you up.
His parents didn't even act surprised. Perhaps deep down they already knew this will happen whether they agree or not.
You watch his mother's eyes pass a kaleidoscope of emotions. A mixture of pain, sadness, guilt, and softness. As if she hurts so much for her son.
You greeted them in a heedful manner, taking into account that you are not familiar with them ever since Satoru brought you in his ascending ceremony after breaking off the engagement with their ally clan, the Tachibana. No one may mention it with Satoru present, but you know that it was one of the many things it is hard for his parents to genuinely like you.
"It might not be much but Satoru and I prepared a gift, something we picked together." You held the paper bag, containing rectangular boxes. Inside are wine bottles you especially liked, Valais Mundi Electus and Pinot Noir from Basel-Landschaft.
"You didn't have to bother. But thank you for the gift." Your Mother-in-Law smiled politely and accepted the gift. Your Father-in-Law on the other hand remained silent, arms crossed on his chest.
"There will be a dinner banquet for your marriage. Right now everyone does not know you are already married. It would be uncalled to just have a civil wedding."
It's not hard to spot the unusual and sharp looks thrown in your direction. As if it's a sin to hold your husband's hand, and the glimmer of your rings tucked in your fingers.
Satoru notices this as well. One turn from his head sent them all facing to what they were doing.
None of them could touch you. Neither their dagger eyes nor their desperate nails for an Infinity lies between the only woman he will allow within his high walls, his wife.
He was first worried about you. He knows the clan might be subservient to him as their master, but not to you. One of the reasons he preferred building a home away from the estate is to keep you safe from the malice and hostility of anyone who might dare hurt you.
But everyone has claws. Even his calm and doting wife could be cruel if she needs to be.
Satoru hid behind the partition of the room. You sat on a raised chair and the vast hall was filled with overturned heads of the Tachibana Clan.
"Satoru didn't mention breaking your jaw." You blankly down and look at Marika, pinned down to the ground by her own family. "You should thank him. If it was me, I would sit on a chair and have all your limbs broken one by one."
Marika's mother shut her eyes and averted her head away from her daughter's pathetic sight. Even if you turn it all over around, it doesn't change the fact that this woman has also carried her daughter for nine months only to see her grow vain and miserable.
The whole Tachibana Clan wore white kimonos as if mourning for a person still alive. Or they were probably mourning for their lives.
"This won't take long. I still have a newborn to take care of." You straightened your back in the cushioned chair prepared especially for you. "I'll give you two choices to save your lives so choose wisely."
The room went silent. Everyone was on the edge, the glint in their eyes showed they are anticipating whatever you tell them to do for their lives.
"If you want to save your clan, feed your daughter the poison she gave me until she stops living. But if you want to save your daughter, all of you drink the poison, until you become sterile and die for how long it would take you to. It's a very easy deal don't you think?"
Satoru looks at the aghast faces of the clan, all staring at his wife, calmly sitting with an emotionless face. That was already a light punishment, but he didn't think you would use this kind of method, neither Marika nor the Tachibana Clan will escape condemnation and guilt no matter who survives.
Satoru resisted the urge to laugh. You sound so simple as if their lives is the same as asking how much is the box of eggs in the grocery.
Both two choices are certain demise for the clan. The guilt of making their daughter sterile and die. And all of them drink the poison that prevents them from having any more children, effectively ending the bloodline of the Tachibana Clan.
"But my husband will protect me anyways. Even if you think I'm hiding that doesn't change the fact I will take my due for what your Young Lady did to me and my daughter." The calmness in your voice only irked the men, pathetically kneeling, all too arrogant to kneel before a woman, but too cowardly to face the consequences of their actions.
"You make all this move because you're hiding in your husband's back." Someone snap out of spite.
It didn't faze you, but made you smile with no humor instead.
"Then it is our Young Lady's fault why are you roping us in!" More and more started to rise.
"Shut up!" But they all stopped when the Patriarch roared and look at you, with a final look in his eyes. "I will handle my daughter to your former choice. Just keep my clan safe."
"F-Father?!" Marika cried. Finally the cracks of her mask surfacing. "All my life, I did what you asked me for!"
But it fell on deaf ears. You watch the man discard his daughter. And you just know... What bounds he is willing to keep his clan afloat by hook or by crook.
They can never be trusted. You will remember their faces one by one.
"You can try taking revenge on me, but before you could even dare to take the first move, I will have my husband personally finish what you all started." You took your time to burn their faces at the back of your head. "If you think sacrificing your daughter will relieve you, it doesn't change that all of you are monstrous parasites using each other to satisfy your greed."
You stood up and leave, no one dared to stop you.
You've always thought you could live peacefully. You didn't have to bother with doing any duties in the Gojo Clan because Satoru never asked you to nor do you think you have the qualities to manage such a big and intricate household. But that apathy led you to where? You almost lost your daughter if not for alertness.
Just now, you could dictate the lives of a whole clan with one single word. Only then did you realize, you have to be strong to be the strongest's wife.
"It's a girl." Kouki huffed versus his sister.
"I told you it's a boy!" Saika pouted.
You watch the two fight out what will be the gender of their baby sibling.
"But what if they are twins?" You blink and put a hand over your lips, internally grinning.
Kouki instantly turned pale. Saika on the other hand jumped in excitement.
"I want a baby sister and a brother, looking like Mama." Your little sugarboo giggles, wiggling into your arms for a hug. She put her ears against your stomach which is barely showing yet.
"That's the last right? Mama?" Kouki wore a very complicated look, almost begging you to say yes.
Just in time, the front door opened, with Satoru loudly yelling "I'm home!"
Kouki didn't waste time running to his Papa. Readying his cuteness to take his father to his side.
"This is the last one right Pa? Right?" The mochi whined.
"What last Kikufuku?"
"Last sibling." You supplied for him, taking pity on your son. You ruffled your little princess's hair and ushered to the side, making space for Satoru who put Kouki on top of his lap.
"If it's the last then we should make it a two!"
"Yes!" Saika.
"NO!" Kouki.
Internally you faint just thinking of a twin with Satoru as the father. Boy oh boy, it'll be one hell of a ride for sure.
The callous hand of your husband held yours as he pull down the blindfold and rest his forehead against your shoulder.
You would do anything to keep this home safe and sound.

🧡 for Griffin and Marika? (:
They do not share a bed every night. Some nights one or the other has duties which keep them up late; other days one of them must wake early, and does not wish to disturb the other. And some nights Marika simply wishes her privacy, or Griffin can tell that he will be lying awake all night and doesn’t wish to disturb her sleep.
But at least four nights a week, they do sleep beside each other, and to be quite honest, Griffin finds those nights to be more precious than the finest luxuries his new rank provides.
To be sure, fine food and beautiful clothing and attentive servants are nice, but there is something about waking with Marika’s head on his shoulder, the silk-softness of her braided hair against his skin, which is so very calming that he can go the whole rest of the day in a good mood just from a few minutes of quiet basking before she wakes.
And when she does wake - with an adorable little scrunch of her nose and a yawn like a kitten’s, which makes him smile helplessly every time he sees it, this single undignified moment that his poised and elegant wife allows him to see - she smiles at him, dark eyes warm in the dim morning light leaking through the bed’s curtains, and Griffin gets to kiss her.
It still astonishes him every time, that he of all men is allowed to kiss and hold and adore this marvelous woman.
But he is allowed, and more: Marika leans in eagerly for his kisses, eyes fluttering shut, and sighs with contentment, and nestles closer.
Another man, he thinks, might find the power of being king intoxicating. Might garner joy from giving commands and having all the people around him scramble to obey; might revel in knowing his slightest whim is law.
Griffin finds being king exhausting. The responsibilities are heavy, the duties endless. He is doing well at it, he thinks, and doing good, too, making Temeria as peaceful and prosperous as Hirundum was under his own and his father’s rule; but that does not mean it is an easy task, and he does not find pleasure in exercising his power for his own aggrandization.
No, he finds his pleasure here, with the most wonderful woman in the world curled against him, soft and sleep-warm and relaxed, without the armor of her perfect poise and courtesy. Her lips taste like the cloves she chews to keep her breath sweet, and her smile is warmer than the morning sun, and on the nights they share a bed, Griffin wakes eagerly, knowing she will be beside him.

𝐅*𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐭, 𝐄𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Tumblr media
Morgott - This is really the gist of your dynamic. You've fucked around so many times that Morgott was bound to snap. And snap he did. Time to find out, Tarnished. Next thing you know, you found yourself on the ground, looking up at the Omen's enraged face. And his angry, leaking dick. Oh. Oh. Need a little help there, Morgott? Guess he did, what with the way you're practically loving on it.
Mohg - You thought you were cute trying to fuck around but Mohg showed you he was cuter by making you find out. Too bad it comes with a side of orgasm denial and making you ride him ceaselessly as he reclines on his throne. Hah. Thought you did something there, didn't you?
Godrick - Fuck you, Godrick, okay? Just... fuck you. You don't know who's worse, you or him, but what you do know is that you tried him one too many times to the point that his multiple arms and hands practically rip your clothes off you and make you scream and beg for more. Bonus points for Godrick making you suck on two of his fingers to 'shut you up'. Not for long, you spineless bastard.
Godfrey - Um... lmao. Why would you even try him, love? He's a grappler at his core and you don't even try to wrestle yourself out of his grip. Your entire being goes slack when feel the telltale signs of his arousal press against you and by the Erdtree. No wonder Marika liked him so much...
Radahn - Well, you don't even finish fucking around before he has you suspended in the air, his tongue and fingers doing stuff to your body that you never thought possible. He told you he'd have you screaming his name. Don't know why you didn't believe him.
Radagon - He's soft-spoken as always. But there's an edge to his voice that makes you shudder, doubly so as he thrusts into you brutally. Ferally. The walls of your bedchamber reverberate with the sounds of his name. And all who has ears to hear knows Radagon has claimed his prize.
Varré - Varré is an ass so why not bother him? And so you do. And his response is to... not fuck you. Because that's what you weren't expecting. And so it turns into a game of cat-and-mouse and you're more than 1000% sure you two are going to hatefuck in the near near NEAR future.
Patches - In this scenario, it's the reverse. He fucks around because he wants to find out. He wants YOU to fuck HIM. He's glad you got the hint (finally) but did your epiphany have to happen while you're fucking him silly?
Godwyn - He's an adorable golden retriever that you never really took seriously until he fucking snapped. You didn't think the man was capable of fucking you senseless, did you? You were very pleased. And very satisfied. You also reveled in the love bites he blessed you with. And poor Godwyn is so flustered but you can't help but love the way his blush deepens when you flash him a lecherous grin. You'll have to do this often.

Marika has many bastards children 🤯 better tell that to the dudebros who're coping and seething about Messmer's existence saying that is something Miyazaki pulled out straight from his ass.
WHAT they're saying, now?
Tumblr media
(Also shut UP @heraldofcrow, memes do NOT have an age and you KNOW it!!!!!!!!!!!) I would argue that even IF he did come up with this character on the fly, that'd not be a big problem either though? Like, for example, what if they did not have the DLC planned in advance or even know whether they'll want to make it or not? Not even the matter of 'we should see how well received ER will be first', but simply a matter of how process of writing the story is unpredictable! But when they decided to do it, they would need to figure how to add new lore in a way that doesn't damage or retcon pre-established information. And they did: having a secret family member erased from the collective memory for a good reason is a fair way to develop the backstory more!
Tumblr media
But back to the actual point, yeah, I guess it IS kind of funny in this context that even the already established lore leaves the room for Messmer AND much more demigods! Marika had SO many bitches/boytoys....

Ranni and Rykard as narrative foils: an unnecessarily detailed deep dive
Tumblr media
Ranni and Rykard both seek the same thing; the end of the Erdtree’s reign. In the past, the two collaborated on the Night of the Black Knives toward this purpose. But nowadays, the siblings’ paths are diverged, and they seem to follow completely separate agendas. Why? What happened? What drove them apart?
A main point of difference between Ranni and Rykard immediately post-Shattering is that Ranni is said to have “cast aside her Great Rune,” while Rykard kept his. Regarding the Great Runes, Finger Reader Enia says: “Tainted by the strength of their runes, [Marika’s] children warred.” The Great Runes are a source of power that corrupts, which Rykard fell prey to while Ranni removed the temptation.
As collaborators and as siblings, it is likely that they fought about this; Rykard believing that the strength of the runes is necessary to carry out their goals, and Ranni seeing the corrupting power of the runes for what it is. The resulting circumstance is, of course, Rykard’s participation in the war of the Shattering and his descent into power-hungry madness. Ranni, however, never strayed from her original goals, patiently plotting from the shadows.
Set on these diverging paths, the siblings’ actions shape them into narrative foils of each other… putting the rest under the cut because I can’t shut up:
Though both Ranni and Rykard seek to bring down the Golden Order, only one of them is ever called blasphemous. One definition of blasphemy is specifically “the crime of assuming oneself the rights or qualities of God,” and I think this is the definition that most applies to Rykard.
The Taker’s Cameo item states that, “when Rykard turned to heresy, taking by force became the rule. The gods themselves were no different, after all.” Here, we see Rykard directly imitating the behavior of the gods, though he curses them.
Tumblr media
But not only does Rykard imitate the gods’ behavior; he also imitates Golden Order and Erdtree practices, albeit in a corrupted way. He utilizes weapons and sorcery that are both intelligence and faith-based, much like his father Radagon’s Golden Order incantations. Even the very concept of the God-Devouring Serpent can be seen as a perversion of the Erdtree… Rykard’s practice of devouring heroes to be togethaaa as famileee echoes the practice of Erdtree burial, where in both instances, a great mass of bodies is brought together to merge into one whole (the Serpent King and the Erdtree, respectively). The Serpent’s actions actually fit the Golden Order Law of Regression shockingly well: “all things yearn eternally to converge.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The point of these comparisons is to show that Rykard isn’t actually making any meaningful change to the current world order… his plan is to essentially devour the current corrupt gods, and replace them with a new corrupt god (himself) that perpetuates the exact same practices. He and Ranni once sought to free the Lands Between from these corrupt gods, but he has become precisely what he hates most of all!
Ranni, on the other hand, does the opposite. Since the beginning of the Shattering, she has staunchly refused to engage with overt power grabs and warmongering. Instead, she has extricated herself from the system entirely, slaying her empyrean flesh and casting her Great Rune aside.
Regarding her new order, Ranni seeks to “betray everything, and rid the world of what came before,” tearing up the system from the very root. Her master plan is to completely remove the influence of the gods from the Lands Between, so rather than stay and rule as god-queen, she leaves: “As it is now, life, and souls, and order are bound tightly together, but I would have them at great remove. […] I would abandon this soil, with mine order.”
Tumblr media
In Ranni's new age, life and souls are no longer directly tied to or influenced by the ruling order like they were during the age of the Erdtree. It makes perfect sense why Ranni would want to remove this influence, as she was born an empyrean with the Two Fingers' influence in her very flesh — one of her most crucial lines of dialogue in my opinion is when she says of the Two Fingers, “I would not be controlled by that thing.” with the most iron conviction in her voice.
In this way, Ranni is Rykard’s narrative foil: Rykard falls victim to the corrupting force of power, but Ranni resists the temptation. Rykard ends up imitating and becoming the gods which he hates, while Ranni is able to truly remove their influence. While Rykard trapped himself within a vicious cycle, Ranni was able to escape, freeing the Lands Between from the cycle as well. It's such a tragic end for two siblings who used to work together.

Miquella The Unalloyed hcs since dlc hype ! and since I feel extra tumblr cringe worthy today.
The Empyrean Miquella is loved by many people. Indeed, he has learned very well how to compel such affection.
Uses the Bewitching Branch so that when he walks somewhere that isn't the Haligtree he doesn't have to worry about being attacked. While Malenia does still serve as his blade, he hates being treated like he's made of glass just because of his body, enjoying going out on his own regardless of all.
Learned quickly that he can compel affection through simply being nice and charming, usually adapting to who he is talking to. (He must've passed down Marika's manipulation tactics, huh)
Gets misgendered very often. He's used to it but it makes Malenia annoyed.
He was openly devastated by Godwyn's death since Godwyn cared for him and Malenia. (Marika/Radagon are neglectful asf) Ranni knew about this and never told him the truth in fear it would demolish their bond.
Always wearing white as a sign of purity.
Despite being very empathetic and caring, Miquella still has a god complex and thinks he deserves to be worshipped and so devoted to.
He just smilies if you praise him. It wont phase him, but he enjoys it either way.
He felt bad for Morgott & Mohg but Morgott shut him down for giving up on the golden order and Mohg always seemed shady. (You know how that ended)
The ring on his finger is there to symbolize leadership.
Genuinely does care for his people and being a good leader, but due to people always watering him down due to his looks he tries to do as much on his own to "prove" himself. (Hence why I think he doesn't tell anyone about the godhood thing)
The reason he never wears shoes is because there are no "children" in the lands between, no shoes were ever designed for him.

Hi, can you please do some married headcanons for the Elden Ring ladies please?
Hello! Sorry if this is a bit late, my writing speed is... extra bad since last month. Also if you wanted/want something more specific, hit me with an ask again, I'm always happy to write for them. :)
~
Melina: Married life with Meli is very quiet. She's not a woman of words and her affection is shown more with gentle touches or doing little things for you. Household chores are assigned in a "how we're feeling today" kinda way. If anyone of you is really tired of one activity, the other will pick it up for the day. When she cooks, it's fairly plain. Not bad, but not great either. Her treatment of food is more that of a survivalist and it reflects in her cooking. She has no qualms or sense of pride to hold her from speaking her mind when she feels wronged or has strong feelings about a situation. Combined with a very calm personality, fights are nonexistent. Arguments usually get resolved easily and at worst she'll go to sleep early and get up before you. She loves getting out of the house, so a lot of your together time is spent on walks around the city/town and with monthly longer trips.
~
Ranni: Life with Ranni keeps you on your toes, at the very least. She's really headstrong and if she "adopts" someone's side or plight, getting her to drop it is nigh impossible. Her sense of justice and morality is on a person-to-person basis, but when she decides something is wrong, you have to be able to ride the storm she's about to unleash. She doesn't really do household chores, apart from patching clothes and cleaning. Both of which she does amazingly and you never have to worry about them, but you sometimes wish she would help with the other chores, even if you had to clean instead. Fights can and do happen, especially if you are also stubborn, but she can't stay mad at you for more than a couple hours. If you remain angry, she'll just give you space with some sparse peace-offering comments (never verbally apologizing for anything though). She loves the king-size bed she got, and weekends are often just spent on it, talking, watching movies, or playing games together.
~
Malenia: Married life with Malenia is also very quiet. She's pretty talkative and active and has this sense of peace and quiet confidence around her. She does her best to assist with chores, and she's very fast and efficient with most of them. She takes pleasure in the repeated movements and often takes it upon herself to do most of them. On the other side, she struggles with cooking even rice, so the cooking falls to you most of the time. She can be very black or white, deciding and holding her position after a couple back-and-forths. Those arguments never evolve into fights though, as if she gets frustrated or has no argument, she shuts down and goes to bed (no matter the time). Those shutdowns can last days. Either until you apologize or she understands your point of view on her own. She enjoys general fitness and sports, particularly sparring. Your best weekends are spent either play-fighting between you or you cheering her on in competitions.
~
Marika: Life with Marika is a mess. She takes no disrespect from anyone, including getting looked at wrong. She even racked up a couple assault charges before you figured out that the best way to stop her from charging people is by hugging her and forcing her to drag you. That usually turns her annoyance towards you, which gives the smart people time to leave. Unsurprisingly, she can't do household chores properly even if her life depended on it. It's not that she doesn't try sometimes, she just sucks at pretty much everything other than cleaning dust. Fights are short, often, and never serious. Everything can be a trigger for a clash, and as she likes teasing and probing you, technically you are the one that starts them. As mentioned above, serious fights never happen, as when she senses you getting truly angry, she either backs off or counters your points with unusual seriousness and maturity.
~
Thank you for the ask, anon!

By the Grace Of [Sorcerer Rogier x Fem!Tarnished] - Chapter Three
Summary: Rogier tries (and fails) to occupy his mind and time, alone in the Hold. With a little help, he’s about to have lots to think about.
Author’s Notes: Another measly 800 words! Setting the scene for what I hope to be the last chunk of game dialogue for a bit.
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters or events from Elden Ring
Warnings: none? Unedited (basically), unfinished story- read at your own risk!
Rogier spent an indeterminate, but too long time, staring, again, where the Tarnished had been standing.
What just happened?
He couldn’t seem to process that kiss. It had been so long since he’d been touched, let alone kindly. Dare he say affectionately.
A door somewhere in the Hold slammed shut and he shook himself out of his stupor. He needed to get his mind off of-
He didn’t even know her name.
By Marika, he didn’t even know her name.
He drew himself up, such as it was, and lifted his chin in defiance of himself.
No need to pine for the touch of a woman he didn’t know, with whose presence he might never be graced again.
He didn’t pine. He needed no one.
That settled, he nodded to himself and then looked around the balcony, wistfully eyeing the rail he so often launched himself over. Never again.
He shook his head again. Not the kind of distraction he needed.
He looked toward the doorway. Surely, someone would be near enough to…
No. He didn’t want their pity. Their smug, vindicated disappointment. As it stood, he was outcast enough. And not without his own share of fault in the matter.
He resolved to keep himself occupied by his own devices.
He would list all of the spells he knew. He tilted his head back against the wall and let his eyes shut, taking a deep breath.
Lavender eyes bored through him.
He opened his eyes, shifting. Perhaps he could categorize them. By the order in which he learned them?
He tried that, and found himself getting hung up on the details surrounding each discovery.
He heard the Tarnished’s voice. Indistinct and lyrical.
He squeezed his eyes shut and covered his ears. Was he going mad? Was Death rotting his mind?
A step at the doorway. He dropped his hands, affecting his signature easy air, smile and all. He didn’t let himself think about how quickly it came to him, how effortless it had become to hide behind this mask.
The Tarnished rounded the corner, mouth set in a wide smile. Her arms were laden with an assortment of items- scrolls and tomes; quills and ink; a pillow, a blanket; a small brown sack. She dumped the lot at Rogier’s feet, planting her hands firmly on her hips and looking quite pleased with herself.
“Congratulations, on this motley of… items,” he said dryly. She huffed, dropping to lean against the bench by his legs. If he could have recoiled, could have moved his wretched afflicted legs away from her, he would have. He couldn’t. And so he only sat, at once longing to flee, and longing to reach forward and tuck her dark hair behind her delicate ear.
What?
“You might be a bit more grateful once you see what I’ve brought,” she said blithely. She tossed a tome at him, which he fumbled before grasping. He turned it over. Before he could read the cover, she was tossing more tomes over her shoulder and into his lap.
“Well, then!” he sputtered. He looked down, ready to offer a good natured, if iindignant pout. But she was beaming up at him and he found his own lips curling up to match.
“Good, I thought you might give me an earful. The smile’s better.”
Rogier’s face flushed. She had the decency to look down, at least attempting to hide her smirk. Rogier cleared his throat, grasping for what shreds of decorum he could gather.
“What’s all this, then?” he finally asked.
She shrugged, shuffling papers at her feet. “Mostly journals, I think. Just things Ive collected along the way.” She nodded to the brown sack. “Some bread and dried fruit. Not much, but it’ll keep you.
“Anyway, I just thought you might appreciate them more than me. And,” she looked up again, shy this time. “You seem to be quite well-learned. I thought you might like some place to put down your thoughts.” She held out another book- plain and leather bound. He took it gently from her hands. Loose papers fluttered out, and the Tarnished scrambled to collect them.
“Sorry about that,” she said. “I didn’t know where else to put those, but I thought you might find some use. I certainly won’t.”
Rogier blinked. “Thank you,” he said quietly. “Time can move rather slowly, stuck here, you know.” She looked up at him, holding the papers out. She seemed transfixed by his confession. He couldn’t quite believe he’d said the words aloud, himself. He forced himself to hold her gaze. “A little conversation goes a long way.”
She smiled, a bit of mischief and a bit of regret rolled into one.
“Well, in that case…”

Messmer Speculation:
Messmer was Godfrey + Marika kiddo (older, locked away pre-shattering, name in-keeping with the M's of Marika's shunned children Morgott + Mohg) is touched by the power of an outer god (most likely the fell god) or embraced this flame power. Potentially tied to the god devouring serpent somehow... I don't know the connection yet. (snake motif. snakes could equally be tied to dragons (and this is pulling from dark souls lore bc Miyazaki likes similar themes. serpents descend from dragons). He could also just be touched by the crucible by a lesser degree.
Fought against the giants, saw the exile of the tarnished with Marika's goals in mind for them to return and become lord. (Dialogue in trailer, he knows tarnished and that Marika would have them become lord.) He could have lead the fire monks that fought on the erdtrees behalf during that too!
Text backing up my thoughts:
Flame Protect me:
"The most ancient of the Fire Monks' incantations. Creates a fire within that greatly increases fire damage negation.
It is said that this incantation was used during the War against the Giants long ago, during which it protected the champions of the Erdtree."
From the Catch Flame incantation: "The flame of ruin is anathema to the Erdtree. But prophets sometimes glimpse it within the faith all the same. Sadly when this occurs their sole reward is banishment. " + Surge, O Flame "And so, following the War against the Giants, its [flame of ruin] ruinous blaze was sealed, and guardians were appointed to watch over it."
+
Burn, O Flame "The Fire Giants borrowed from the power of a fell god, and still they were defeated. Yet their failure released them from their solitary curse: to serve as keepers of the Flame for eternity.
Marika easily assessed Messmer as a threat having fire that could burn the erdtree. I wonder if she she feared what could happen if she tried to fight/kill him considering if he lead the flame monks he had a whole gang at his back with fire and banishment was easier. It would also chop the head off that entire organization and lock them away to watch the flame in the mountaintops and lock them away.
I also have this thought that if he was the kid of Marika and Godfrey that he would have claim to the throne, making him extra bitter and spurned by his lack of recognition, that Godwyn was THE ONE kid they had that was worthy and praised, while the others got shut out once their usefulness was done.
his weapon design is also interesting and probably means something: it vaguely reminds me of the branches of the weird fire trees/staves at the fire monk camps

honestly idk how the snakes and snake eyes play into this whole theme yet besides Mt. Gelmir and fire being associated via the fire sorceries. But I'm also not a super expert on Elden Ring lore aside from a few areas I've done research on for Lore Stuff and writing.

asking you about your in-depth trans ranni theory
Oh, THANK you, I'm always happy to infodump about that blue nerd.
Okay, so, before getting into the core of why I think trans Ranni is textually supported, let's go over some of the in-universe history with her:
In the setting, there's a force called Destined Death. It is the natural law of mortality, dictating that everything must eventually come to an end. However, when Queen Marika and her Golden Order came into power, she managed to somehow pluck that law out of the Elden Ring (a massive rune outlining how the world functions at a basic level), hiding it away and effectively banishing death. This allowed for people to live indefinitely by being reborn from the Erdtree when they otherwise would have died.
Marika, along with three of the demigod children of her Golden Lineage (Miquella, Malenia, and Ranni) was an Empyrean - an individual with the potential to channel the power of an Outer God, like Marika and the Greater Will. When Ranni was young, her mother, Rennala, took her to a cloistered spot in Liurnia where she had some sort of communion with another Outer God: the Dark Moon. And she was vibing with it! Whatever ideology it expressed to her, and whatever power it provided, she ended up wanting to work with it. Only one issue: The Outer Will had a vested interest in not being displaced from its position of power.
The Outer Will made its power known not only through deifying Marika and maintaining the Golden Order, but also by sending a number of creatures in service to act as its enforcers: The Two Fingers. Despite how ridiculous they look, they're apparently incredibly dangerous and just about immortal, which makes the fact that each Empyrean is shackled to one to force them to toe the line all the more difficult. Somehow, the presence of one of these linked Two Fingers influences the destiny of an Empyrean, preventing them from supplanting the Golden Order. But Ranni, being clever, figured out a loophole.
Ranni, through some means, found out that the Two Fingers' power over her actions was somehow bound to her body. To sever that link, she chose to do the unthinkable: Working with a group of co-conspirators that included at least her brother Rykard, Ranni arranged for the thievery of Destined Death, and committed ritual suicide in a fashion that managed to kill her body without killing her soul - which, incidentally, did kick off the entire horrific state the world of Elden Ring is currently in, but she was being a girlboss, so it's okay.
The evidence I can point to for her being transgender starts here. To still interact with the world after killing her own body, Ranni chose to let her soul inhabit a finely-made doll instead. It seems as though this may be why she kept Preceptor Seluvis around despite how utterly untrustworthy he is; for better or worse, he's a brilliant magician when it comes to the magic and maintenance behind the doll constructs Liurnia is known for. However, Ranni DIDN'T choose to have the doll made in her own former image, which was presumably well within her capabilities given the in-depth planning that went into her stealing and using Destined Death in the first place. Instead, she had it made to resemble a witch, Renna, who had taught her at some point in the past. In fact, during her first meeting with the player, she outright INTRODUCES herself as Renna, keeping her true identity close to her chest in the face of an unknown variable.
So, that explains it, right? She chose not to look like her old body because she wished to live in hiding, open and shut. But this is where small details start to get interesting. Ranni the Witch is called out by name by Morgott during his pre-fight cutscene, in which he looks across the various thrones in Leyndell abandoned by the other demigods. Radahn and Rykard's thrones are both much, much smaller than the forms we find them in during the course of the game - but oddly enough, RANNI'S is sized for the Renna doll she inhabits, a body that's outright shorter than the player character. We can find her original corpse at the top of Liurnia's divine tower, and she's just as huge as one might expect of a demigod.
This implies that, between the Night of the Black Knives when she performed her ritual and the Shattering, when the demigods went to war with one another over who got to take control of the Elden Ring, Ranni showed up to court with her fellow demigods in her doll body. This would completely defeat the purpose of trying to hide her identity from those who could pose a threat to her. In addition, Ranni shows that she can either extend her consciousness to other bodies, or inhabit other dolls entirely; during the latter part of her questline, you find her inhabiting a miniature version of her doll body, suggesting that she may be fully capable of switching to a different form if she was so inclined.
As a result, my suggestion is that Ranni wasn't just abandoning her original flesh because it was linked to the Two Fingers. If that was the case, she likely would have just stuck to that original body's form when choosing a replacement body to inhabit. It's not like there's some sort of overriding tactical, strategic, or even just physical benefit to the Renna doll, either; Ranni clearly LIKES to feel tall, judging by the stack of books she sits on in her tower to stay above eye level with the player character when they visit. In addition, while there's plenty of portraits and statues of the other demigods how they appeared pre-Shattering (save for the Omen brothers, for obvious reasons), Ranni's image is conspicuous for its absence throughout the entire game.
Ranni has enough incidental bits and pieces scattered around the game to suggest that she had deep personal reasons to inhabit her current form, reasons which go well beyond practicality. And honestly, the fact that signs point to the rest of her family being outright supportive of her (Rykard, who has portraits of the rest of his family, conspicuously leaving her out despite the implication that they were close, the fact that her throne is sized for the doll, etc.) is really heartwarming in an otherwise bleak setting if you choose to make this sort of reading.
Anyway thank you for allowing me to infodump about my blue nerdy-ass wife
