This was their last movie in which they were supposed to be in a state of feud and he was wearing this watch that Jerry could see clearly , was he obsessed or is this all a big lie.
I'm sharing this video again because it's one of Dean Martin's interpretations that I really like. He's not smiling, doesn't "feel" smiling while he singing, he seems to be putting her heart into it. I assume it's 1968/1969… if anyone knows exactly please let me know.
And now Jerry. Airdates: 4/1/69. Here it is extraordinarily beautiful and vulnerable. Both performances are poignant and practically sung around the same time.
Video credit @jerrylevitch. I wanted to cut out the entire introduction.
And then there's this moment. Bottom lip slightly bitten like that as if they were both trying hard not to cry. From this period their black decade began. From which Jerry recovered but Dean did not. What the hell happened in the late 60s to these two men that tore them apart, maybe, for real?
It hurts to see them like this.

This couldn't have been in the script, not in the 1950s. So did Dean and Jerry know they were going to do this or did Dean just do it? Jerry looked surprised.
