Now i might not be as knowledgeable bout cars as some other people but it doesn't mean im not gathering more information the more i revisit the franchise

Personally i never truly shipped anyone outside of like Mcqueen and Sally, or mater and Holley, but those are just the canon things. But since canon doesn't always matter

I personally think Mater x Mcqueen could probably work. Anything outside of that is out of my range since i dont even remember names of minor side characters-

But again im slowly revisiting the fandom bit by bit.

The self ship community is also something, which is also a thing i partake in as ive got a few self ships of my own. However thats for another day.

Since my day off got ruined by real life b.s. expect an extra load of salt from me

Bakudeku: same reasons for why i don't ship SentiOp; Bakugo was a mean ass bitch to Deku to where it wasn't even a normal rivalry but straight up bullying. It's not Deku's duty to fix Bakugo, and they would not last long.

Bwen: just....why?

Joey x Mai: I admit when I was a kid I used to ship them until i found out later on Mai is a grown woman.

Joey x Kaiba: again, Kaiba was a mean ass hoe to the poor lad. Joey deserves someone who won't put him down for every little thing and Kaiba needs someone who he can get along with but also willing to set personal boundaries if needed.

Holley x Mater: i still think this pairing exists to stave off Holley x Finn (which i also don't ship) but Mater and Holley literally has no romantic chemistry and just shoved together. Holley doesn't need a love interest neither does Mater.

Oh y'all gonna be so mad but...Peter x MJ WAIT NOT THE COMICS but I'm talking about the one from Spectacular Spider-Man. Peter x MJ exists in so many universes but I love Peter x Gwen in Spectacular and I hate for them to be permanently broken up just for the sake of Peter x MJ. I also don't really like Garfield!Peter x MJ, I don't like the idea of using her as a consolation prize right after Gwen's death

Llorumi/Lloyd x Harumi: Harumi faked having feelinga in order to harm him and his friends. She gave the poor boy trust issues that lasted entire seasons. He deserves someone who he can trust, and Harumi needs to focus on healing. Also Lloyd wouldnt have forgiven her that easy

Jasonnie: didn't he know her when she was a still a teenager? Uh anyways I greatly prefer them as friends since it's so rare for intimate platonic relationship between a guy and a girl. Besided I prefer them having love interests outside their social circle

Tucker x Valerie: she is way too good for him

Nigel uno x Numbuh 362: i never saw them as a romantic ship plus i feel like they needed all the knd to be married when Nigel easily could've been the cool single uncle or had a new love interest

Robin Hood x Regina: why date the woman directly responsible for your wife's death?

Hook x Emma (uh oh) yeah I wasn't a fan of them back then and still not really big on them now. I wished Graham or Bael was still alive to be her endgame and Hook got with someone else (or maybe that's the Hook x OC shipper in me talking)

Hades x Maleficent: yeah no. They'd bring out the worse in each other and based in very superficial qualities even for villain standards. Hades needs someone who can help him keep calm.

Max x Bradley Uppercrust III: no. Bradley was straight up rude to Max, and Max wouldn't put up with his antics no matter how rich he is.

Ooh a Marvel x Cars crossover would be interesting!

Lightning would be Tony Stark. Hear me out— both just weren’t the best of people at the beginning of their respective movies, but they go through some character development. Also, their colors are the same (red and yellow)

If Lightning is Tony, Sally is obviously Pepper

Mater could possibly be Rhodey? They aren’t much alike but Rhodes is Tony’s best friend. He could also be JARVIS, possibly?

Doc as Nick Fury! Not only would it be funny, but with Doc basically acting as the mayor of Radiator Springs and Fury as Director of SHIELD, they have similar positions

Everyone in Raditator Springs would be an Avenger, but as for specific characters:

Flo would be Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch

Sarge would be Captain America

Cruz would be Peter Parker because if you’ve ever watched Spider-Man Homecoming, you’d know Peter is like Tony’s apprentice (kind of)

Holley Shiftwell would be Helen Cho (from Age of Ultron) as they are both tech geniuses

Jackson Storm and Chick Hicks would both work as Ivan Vanko (from Iron Man 2), but I think Storm fits a lot better. They are both rivals of Lightning, but Ivan’s appearance in Iron Man 2 was sudden, just like Storm’s.

I kind of got carried away 😅 I might have a few more ideas though

Attention Anyone Who Will Listen,

Mater x Holley is one of the most wholesome adorable friggin ships ever despite existing exclusively in Cars 2 and here's why:

It's a classic and perfect case of the miss-matched couple. Holley is modern, sleek, tech savvy and clever but also, you know, a spy, so she keeps secrets and puts herself in danger, and is probably hella stressed out. Mater is the exact opposite. He's this rusty tow truck who doesn't know what he's doing, but also has his life figured out and lives pretty simply in a town in the middle of nowhere. And it's the fact that they seem like they would never work together that makes it all the more adorable that they like each other and get together.

But it's also not totally out of nowhere either. Holley is working on so many levels above Mater, which is obviously part of what draws him to her, but it also works in reverse. Holley spends so much time wrapped in a world of deception, and Mater is such a vigorously honest, genuine, and selfless person that he becomes this strange unattainable perfection to her. The whole dent thing just encapsulates this perfectly.

And just consider the allure of this occasional long distance romance. Holley's off on missions, some longer than others. She visits Mater in RS. Not to mention all the possible danger and high stakes stuff these two might end up in. But also just the small town wholesome stuff they would totally do together.

And of course Holley would be defensive of Mater, not wanting to drag him into stuff that might get him in danger, but Mater would totally be super protective of Holley too. Like, in the 'don't do anything that could get you killed' way, but also in the 'take care of yourself and get sleep!' Sorta way.

Plus, just think about how cute this ship is humanized. We all know the size difference between these two would be sizably adorable, and Mater trying to dress up for her, and Holley trying to ruffle her hair every once in a while for him is just.... the most precious thing to me.

But most importantly, the fact that they make each other happy, even though no one else really gets it, is just so cute. In a way, they don't even understand each other, but that's half of why they like each other, you know?

And YES! I am pissed that we didn't even get so much as an after credits scene or a tease or even a BREIF mention of these two in Cars 3.

Wedding Part II

“Woah, are you crying man?” Fillmore asked Sarge as they came out of the town hall behind Cruz and her new bride.

“No.” He denied despite the wetness of his eyes.

“Would you like me to show him my surveillance footage to prove him wrong?” Holley teased, pulling up beside them with a hysterical Mater at her side.

“I always cry at weddings!” Mater bawled causing Sarge to back away in disgust at the display of feelings.

“Toughen up soldier!” he ordered. He started to drive away in the direction of The Wheel Well for the reception when something hit him in face.

“What in the name of- ” he cried out in shock. He was even more surprised when he realised that the thing which was now resting on his hood was the bouquet of flowers that Cruz had been holding a minute earlier. He looked around to find most of his friends looking at him barley contained amusement. Sally and Lightning were wearing matching smirks whilst Cruz smiled sheepishly as she tried not to laugh. Mater had gotten over his hysterics and was now boisterously wolf whistling against Holley’s half hearted attempts to quiet him. He felt a familiar feeling against his side and he glanced across to see Fillmore leaning into him.

“Fate’s trying to tell you something man.” he said suggestively.

“Don’t embarrass me Fillmore!”
