The knee-jerk reaction to ask him what's that supposed to mean like he's assuming something she isn't is deep but suppressed. Barely suppressed but it's not bubbling below the surface or-

"What's that supposed to mean?" It comes out before she can stop herself as she stands up, putting the lock-picking kit back into it's designated spot on her duty belt.

She doesn't know why it's getting under her skin so much, but there are so many reasons why it's hard to choose from. Is it that she was locked away with minimum contact for- however long before she had to start running? Or perhaps it's the near-constant issue of being a woman in a male-dominated field. But if she had to guess, it's probably the little patch on his shoulder that keeps staring back at her, taunting her that accepting help from this man is foolish at best.
