Mesmerizing kimono coat in shimmering oil-slick tones. The pattern has bustling sealife with beautiful seahorses, different shells, algae, anemones, etc.
This intricate design has the same hypnotizing effect on me as Howl’s wizard bedroom:
I went to 本むら庵 (Honmuraan), a sobaya from 1924, with Iona (who handled my camera this time) and Mia. After the meal, we went to どんぐり舎 (Dongurisha), a kissa I've been to a few times in Nishiogi, to plan a future outing and play hanafuda, like the old ladies we are (pictures of that on my Instagram post).

Bernard Black and Itoshiki Nozomu are each other's perfect match, CHANGE MY MIND.
Here I am once again with a couple nobody has ever written anything about- and this time, I understand. Please allow me to take you on a thought experiment. What if Zetsubou-sensei was in dreary old London to improve on his English and English-teaching skills? And what if he just happened to be lodging near Black Books, and popped in every now and then to get new literature? Bernard would fall for him harder than a pebble kicked off the cliffs of Dover, that's what. Follow me for shenanigans, a deep sense of despair, and laughing through the pain.
I had way too much fun with this. They are adorable.
Hi, on her most recent IG post Aoi Tayuu is wearing a sort of white kimono coat. Do you know what that garment is and why is she wearing it? Thanks a lot.
I'm not 100% sure what it's called, but it's based on old courtier robes. It's the olden day equivalent of a michiyuki ^^
Back in August, my mother, my sister and I did a three day roadtrip to Lake Placid in New York State, where the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics were hosted. We hiked and visited Adirondack natural wonders the two first days, but because my health was starting to fail me on the second day, we kept the third one for visiting the Downton Abbey costume exhibition at the Lake Placid Center for the arts.
On our way to the exhibit, we passed by the Pines Inn, formerly known as the St. Moritz Hotel, a hotel built in 1907. I had wanted to stay at that hotel, but my mom refused, saying it was in poor shape and looked haunted on the hotel booking sites (she wasn't wrong, but I love that stuff, as you know). I still insisted for us to at least visit it, and we sure did NOT regret it. We stumbled upon one of the concierges (or new owners, correct me if you see this!), and he loved my outfit so much that he gave us a tour of the hotel, including in areas closed to guests. He told us that Albert Einstein and the Kennedys had been guests at the hotel, that there was n*de sunbathing on the roof in the 1930s and that a lot of the furniture was original. Sadly, after the 80s, the hotel slowly went into decrepitude and abandonment, and many things got stolen and damaged. The new owners are currently working hard to restore the hotel, and it's indeed a lot of work.

The Hinokami Kagura is passed on from father to son in every generation alongside the Hanafuda earrings. The Kamado family uses the breathing style within a ritual ceremony practiced every new year, where the Breathing Style user offers the Fire God a dance from sunset to sunrise to ward off diseases. The ritual garment is shown briefly in episode 19 of the anime Demon Slayer and chapter 40 in the manga of the same name.
The construction of this garment started back in March. The first two weeks I researched traditional Japanese clothing to help create a more accurate piece. The undergarments consists of a jinbei (top) and a hakama (pants). For the actual robe I used a Michiyuki pattern. All patterns were altered in some way to best fit the design. One of the challenges was getting the design of the robe. Since the outfit is shown for a short time and the design changes a lot, I used a lot of fan art to help me through the process.
