#Shadowheart #shadow queen #it’s the gorgeous maroon dye btw. that’s my favorite due to put her in. #(her circlet. gloves. boots. and cape were also dyed) #I like doing faewild Green and dun dye for Lae’zel (though sometimes it does look funky so like it’s a 50/50 chance it looks good or bqd #but it does look really good on ketheric’s armor #and Gale gets boreal blue #since most of the purple dyes in game can look kinda off #I just do sage green for Jaheria #wyll gets lush burgundy (he looks really good in the dyed Armor of Persistence. PadLock all the way) #karlach gets black and furnace red (i didn’t know what else to put her in tbh) #and I can never think of anything for Astarion so he just automatically always gets sinful red on bone white #minthara gets dark amethyst #I don’t care what Minsc wears so long as he looks himbo #and I genuinely don’t know what to put halsin in ever #he’s in his starting gear 24/7 #Kane gets literally anything red #and Joyce also gets sage green because complimentary colors #and most of the time sage green is calm enough to not make him look Christmas colored #I also switched him to chili tone 4 instead of red tone 4 to help calm the colors #also I just like the chili tones more since they feel like plastic #i don’t personally like the trans flag colors but I repspect the flag and am apart of the nation #god bless our troops (trans Shadowheart)

baldur's gate 3 yu-gi-oh deck archetypes

combining my oldest special interest with my new one let's goooo, with the caveat I have not watched any YGO series fully since Zexal and only skimmed the synchro arc of Arc-V, so this is mainly going to be archetypes from the first 3 series simply because I stopped paying attention after that point lol

Wyll - Fortune Lady (Carly's deck from 5Ds) I like the dark magic vibe with a little bit of "forces from beyond looking over your shoulder" from them being used to read the future, but also the cards all work together in tandem in an interesting way

Gale - Magician-theme (Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, etc.) Partially because haha wizard but also I think the spell counters and the way it all flows together would fit him really well

Karlach - Guardians (Rafael's deck from DM, like Eatos) Each of them has a corresponding weapon card they're tied to which I like, and also that none of them should ever hit the graveyard. I was tempted to go with a fire theme like O'Brien's Volcanic deck but it's focused on getting cards into the graveyard, the exact opposite to Guardians, so I guess either would work depending on her arc

Lae'zel - Gusto (psychic/wind) I was tempted to go with a dragon theme but I think the combo of psychic and wind fits her very well. I used to run this deck and it's very defense-heavy and about getting the most Gusto monsters on the field at once to overwhelm the opponent

Shadowheart - Black Rose (Aki's from 5Ds) it was too easy. the flower motif. the repression of emotions and memories. being manipulated by a dark force who wants to use your powers to hurt where you could have healed. She is very Aki-coded, to me

Astarion - Light Burn/Heal (I can't think of an equivalent in the anime/manga but like, examples of monsters would be Honest and Avenging Knight Parshath) listen I almost went for the obvious vampire deck joke but genuinely I like this a lot. The light theme for that missing part of his life (returned to him during tadpoling). Despite being light/cute sometimes you can hit really hard with it and make it eerie/creepy, and I think Burn/Heal would definitely be something trained into him

Halsin - Fairy/Spirit World (Ruka's from 5Ds) Everything about duel spirits/the spirit world fits Halsin so well, esp if like I did with Shadowheart you compare the Shadow Curse to Ruka having to drive darkness out of the spirit world to save Ancient Fairy Dragon. Also it's just a very powerful deck that's deceptively cute/small but hits hard

Jaheira - Crystal Beast (Johan's from Gx) I thought about giving this to Halsin but I really think the family vibe of the crystals fits Jaheira so well, and they're all very sarcastic & stubborn like she is, she would absolutely just sit around petting Amethyst Cat even though no one else can see her

Minsc - Amazoness (Tania's from Gx) strong women kicking ass for our strong man who drinks all of his Respecting Women juice

Minthara - Volcanic (O'Brien's from Gx) the best reason not to give Volcanic to Karlach was because I like it for Minthara. I can't articulate entirely why this feels right (outside of similarities to the very militaristic saboteur vibes she and O'Brien share) but there's something about her saying "When the trivial parts have been whittled away, and I have sifted through what remains, in most cases a person amounts to nothing at all."

1 - Tell us about your Tav! Name, class and subclass, race, pronouns. Do you have a headcanon for where they're from? Their family? Are they a Dark Urge? Or did you choose an Origin Character? Was it an easy decision?

Name: Ry'on Ulan Class: College of Lore Bard Race: Seldarine Drow (not specified in game, but she's a Szarkai) Pronouns: She/her Origin: Custom She was born in Duthcloim, Menzoberranzan but headed for the surface with her older brother, Za'keth once they both reached adulthood. They stayed in Silverymoon until the events of BG3. I actually have an ask and write up on her whole family dynamics that I will get around to finishing soon, but this is the general gist of her backstory.

2 - Was there something about the character creator that just couldn't capture your Character? Please tell us about their hair, facial hair, tattoos, piercings, disabilities, their trans or intersex body, or anything else you're comfortable sharing.

The only things I wasn't able to get right with the character creator/mods was the body shape (I didn't picture her quite so thin) and the eye colour. The vanilla eyes look quite odd on most of the drow skintones just imo, because the white sclera are so yellow next to their grey skin. So I'll be making a mod for Ry'on next playthrough to get her just right. Her voice also glitched out and changed from voice 4 to voice 2 for some reason, which was a bit jarring.

10 - Do you have a favorite member of the Goblin Camp? Is it the same as your Character's?

Minthara for me, definitely. Do Volo and the Owlbear Cub count for Ry'on? 😅

17 - What does your Character think of Withers?

She didn't think all that much of him initially. Drow are pretty used to the undead and necromancy in general. But over time, she definitely started to wonder more about who he actually was amidst all his cryptic dialogue.

37 - Did your Character find the Necromancy of Thay? How are they handling it / planning to handle it?

She would have let Gale open it, but my dumbass accidentally sold the dark amethyst and didn't notice until the next act so I couldn't even go back to the vendors and buy it back 🥴
