Yesterday Papi and I went to see my Tio Jimmy's land, which took my breath away. When I looked up towards the canopy above us, I saw a perfect rainbow circle around the sun. • As you will hear in the video, my Tio saw it as a sign, or blessing, from God. Being here, connected to nuestra tierra, it certainly felt like one. • Later, I looked it up and learned that it is a "Solar Halo." The scientific explanation (according to @farmersalmanac): "A Sun halo is caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds." • Over the centuries there have been lots of superstitions and folklore about these stunning solar halos. The phenomenon, also known as a "22-Degree Halo" is often seen as a sign that rainy weather will arrive the following night, at midnight. Continuing with the background horses, I've chosen this other flashback smelling the pleasant aroma of jasmine. Today's @simonjclebon @duranduran song is Save a Prayer. My idea when writing is not to cause shock, but rather distraction, this song is ideal for all people struggling with this new disease in my country and around the world. Yesterday's song was Rio and it reminds me of Brazil. I don't like to mix in political debates, but I believe that the Brazilian president is immersed in a cloud of high ego blinded by his own ideals, leaving aside Brazilian society, without having yet taken measures for the common good.
