Lets do more Origami!

Then you fold the paper into quarers. I might not even make a picture of that. ˜I figured I might as well do another origami now. I’ve been meaning to, and this blog is suffering from serious mission creep, which frankly might be wholesome anyway.

I’ve already done a crane, the most basic and classic of the origamis. So I’m going to try a more advanced one. Or at least a less cliché one.

Hmm, I’ll do a dinosaur! A “seismosaurus,” specifically. Or a Diplodocus, I believe both names are valid. It’s vaguely out of the ordinary, and the instructions are reminiscent of the crane. I’m going to bend some paper so it roughly looks like that. I’ve put stripes and bad polka dots on my paper so i know which side is which when its all bent over itself:

Then you fold the paper into quarters, diagonally. I might not even make a picture of that. You can imagine it.

Then you fold it a bit like a paper airplane. Honestly, I think i willl never know how to fold like this and not bend the nose and have it misaligned. Same with paper airplanes:

Oh nooo i’m already unbalanced on one side. HOW do you avoid this? I need to do research on this later.

And then I somehow wound up here. legit don’t know how. Fuck! Starting over.

Okay. Got past the hard part, I think.

Now on this next part I THINK i messed it up really bad. I didn’t even know what i was supposed to do after watching a how-to video over and over. But it looks like the tricky part, the triangular bits, are just supposed to be the legs, which my intuition tells me shouldn’t matter. An origami can still be an origami with terrible legs.

Last step: I did it! Once again, a bit frayed, and i think i messed the hind legs up really bad, and of course the head area is a mess, but ultimately I finished this piece. If i do Origami again, which i do admit is actually kind of relaxing, I’ll do something which doesn’t have a long neck that tapers down like a crane. I put …….Oscar the diplodocus next to Randy, the Crane. I guess it’s fitting they’re so similar in execution. Birds are evolved from winged dinosaurs, after all.
