This is what I mean…
… The little synchronisations. The way they turn in sync and then glance at each other multiple times, both of them correcting Hardison’s spelling, every time they exchange a look, esp when one or both of them smirks about it.

౨ৎ⋆ ˚。⋆ romance cheat sheet, pt. 1
chris sturniolo x reader
warnings: swearing
summary: Chris and you have been best friends since middle school. Chris has been in love with you since he met you, and you developed a small crush during sophomore year. It’s now currently senior year, and Chris has no idea how to ask you out. So him, his brothers, and their friend, Nate, make a ‘romance cheat sheet’, to get you to fall for him (even tho you already have..?)
a/n: i JUST found out there’s a literal book with the same plot. uhhhhhhh, don’t sue me
౨ৎ
It was around midnight. Nate, Matt, and Nick were all slumped on the couch, looking at me sitting on the floor, my legs crossed.
“C’mon, don’t be such a pussy, Chris. Just ask her out already, she clearly likes you!” Nate groaned.
I had been talking about y/n for the past 20 minutes, deciding if I should text her to ask her out or not.
The thing is, she is my best friend, and I won’t risk our friendship just because I was delusional, and thought she liked me back. There’s no chance, she’s fucking perfect.
But yet I still had a small voice in my head, telling me she just might like me back.
“Nate, it’s not that fucking easy. She’s my best frie- girl best friend. What if I fuck up?” I lean back against the carpet, covering my face with my hands with a frustrated grunt. This wasn’t easy, at all.
“I say we make a little cheat sheet. Romance cheat sheet.” Nick said with a proud smile, wiggling his eyebrows up and down. He’s mentioned it before, but I cut it off immediately.
This time I felt different though. Maybe he was right, what if it would work? He noticed a thing or two.
“I’m with Nick on this one. You clearly like her. Too much for my liking.” Matt mumbled, making Nate break into laughter, leaning back in the couch.
I doubt it’ll work. None of us have any experience with women, but Nick had a few female friends. I mean, me, Matt and Nate also did, but we weren’t as close. I’d just let Nick take over the list.
“Okay! Fine. Nick, grab a paper or whatever,” I rolled my eyes, standing up to find a few pens for all of us.
Nick and Nate added a few points. Here and there I remembered a few thinks she liked, crossed a few of the stupid ideas out, kicking Matt because he wasn’t helping, and so on.
“Wait, her favourite flowers are tulips-“
“I don’t know, she mentioned she’s never played golf before?”
“She likes the Nerds Gummy Clusters.”
“Nick, we already have matching bracelets. Look- Mine’s blue.”
The final list consisted of 13 points.
1. Tuck her hair behind her ear once in a while
2. Get her flowers for no reason (tulips)
3. fake failing a class
4. Let her borrow your hoodies
5. Hold her hand when walking (oh la laa)
6. Kiss her forehead when she accomplishes something!!! ;)
7. Teach her how to play golf or something, stand behind her
8. Remember her ordr orders for specific restaurants
9. Always have her favourite candy in your bag (nerds gummy cluts clusters)
10. make out with her Take her out when it feels right
11. Go shopping or whatever
12. Get matching bracelets (more)
13. KISS KISS KISS - n8
“Alright, I think this is good. You start Monday, try to check any of these off during the day.” Nick said, putting the cap on the pen pack on. Nate nodded, and Matt was practically asleep on the couch.
I stared at the list for a second. Was it stupid? Was it really worth it? Would it even work?
I tried to push the thoughts away. It’ll be fine, if it’s not gonna work, at least we’re still best friends.
“Alright, I’m going to bed then. Goodnight.” Nate yawned as he stood up, making his way to the bathroom. I just gave him a smile.
“Nick, I’m scared it’s not gonna work. What if she thinks I’m a weirdo? I mumble, looking down at my hands. I shot Nick a glance.
“Chris, stop. She’s not gonna suddenly find you weird after being your best friend since middle school. You guys are attached to the fucking hip, this is literally the first Friday in what? Weeks, she hasn’t been sleeping here. I’ve seen the way she looks at you, laughs at your extremely unfunny jokes, always staying by your side. You literally sleep beside each other. So please, shut up. And goodnight.” Nick rolled his eyes as he also stood up.
Deep down Nick felt kind of happy for his brother, finally trying to making some sort of move on his best friend. It was getting painful to watch two people completely oblivious to each other.
I looked back at Matt behind me, asleep on the couch with his phone in his hand. I slowly got up to put his phone on the coffee table, finding a blanket for him, before making my way to my bedroom, not forgetting to bring the cheat sheet with me.
-
I had been staring at the ceiling for God knows how long. The overthinking had taken over, makes me completely restless.
That was until my phone lit up with a vibration.

if anyone understands having a tricky relationship with their father, it’s nate archibald. ౨ৎ
somethin small i wrote abt nate bc a few people asked. cw: daddy kink, daddy issues, smut
that distant stare of yours, that pout as you stare out over the city from his apartment window. he knows it all too well. approaches you softly with a slight sympathetic pout of his own, running a hand over your head and bringing your cheek to his chest so he can kiss the top of your head. he couldn’t give you a better father, but he could give you that guidance and love you crave so much. he could do better.
so he gives you everything — you want that dress costing an arm and a leg? it’s already hanging in your side of the closet at his apartment. you too sleepy as you sit at the kitchen table in the morning after a long night with him? he’s forking up a perfect biteful of pancake and bringing it to your lips with a grin, happy to do so. he never gets mad when you snap at him, something deeper clearly triggering such a sudden reaction— only frowning and shaking his head, closing in on you to thumb at your cheek. “whats with the attitude? somethings on your mind. talk to me.” he coo’s empathetically.
it’s not just you that noticed— blair’s smug but somewhat gleeful smile as she totters alongside nate on the street, nudging him with a sharp elbow through her maison margiela coat. “well, you know how thrilled i am for you to finally be tugging along a girl of taste. even if i have to watch you treat her like you snatched her from the cradle yourself.”
he huffs out a laugh, shooting her a confused glance, walking alongside her with his hands in his pockets. “what are you talking about? she’s like one year younger than me. nearly two.”
“age isn’t nothing but a number, nate— i’m talking about the coddling, tell me — does she call you daddy in just the bedroom or do you extend that to all hours of the day?”
“jesus— need i remind you of boundaries blair, what i do with my girlfriend is none of your business… but— no, she doesn’t call me that.”
but it stayed bouncing around his brain like a ping pong ball. started noticing all the little things, how much more you’d cling to him after an argument with your father. selfishly, he almost started wishing you’d fight more— just so he could dote on you like that. the whole ‘daddy’ thing wouldn’t be so weird right? the thought of it had him reaching down to readjust in his tight suit pants, clearing his throat. uncomfortable? yes. but sexy, crazily so.
maybe he could milk it out of you. enforce a little more guidance until you’re putty in his hand. it wouldn’t be hard, he saw the way you’d blink at him all doe eyed when he’d tell you not to stay up too late, both thumbs stroking your cheeks. he’d speak slower, calmer, stand closer, make him the only thing you can see, think about even. he was gentle, loving, held eye contact super well — too well, made your face get hot and wanna look away. made you wanna shrink, go all mushy in your brain. “hey, look at me when i talk to you sweetheart. i don’t bite, you know.” he smiles, and there’s no threat present but god you’d never disobey him. never your nate.
it finally slips out when he’s got your thighs pinned open, strong arms wrapped around them whilst he sucks on your clit. he was always good at that, making you cum. nate knew just how to destress you after a long stressful day, far too stressful for his sweet girl. he laps you up, pressing thick fingers deep inside gummy walls, dribbling over your slit.
“nnnnnn—” you can’t even get his name out, clutching a pink throw pillow.
“i know, baby.” he hums.
“daddy!” you cry, and he doesn’t even bat an eyelid as if he was expecting it. if you’d been more with it, you would have seen him bite back a proud chuckle, shoulders relaxing just a little. he keeps at it, stroking the inside of your sensitive thighs.
“thats right. tell daddy how it feels.”

pairing: nathan doe x fem!reader
warnings: secret relationship, language, smut, p in v, unprotected(ur on the pill), aftercare, confession, lowk long
summary: nate won his hockey game, and celebrates by paying you a visit in the middle of the night. but what happens when he leaves a souvenir behind for your big brothers to find?
thank u for the request, anon! 🪷
"nate!" chris cheered, running to his best friend to engulf him in a hug. nathan had just walked through the front door of your house, making his way to the kitchen with his arms open. chris practically tackled him to the floor.
"chris! hug him, don't fuckin' attack him," nick scolded, making his own way over to embrace nate.
nate had just come over from his hockey game, one of the most tense matches yet. the scores were close, but nate led his team to victory by scoring a last-minute goal. he was the star of the night; no one could stop talking about him.
you couldn't be more proud of nate. you knew how hard he had been training for this season, and your heart was full knowing that he was getting the appreciation he deserved.
being only a year younger than the triplets, your relationship with them was very close. most of the time, all of you hung out together and shared the same friends, so nate had become one of your best friends too. what your older brothers weren't aware of, though, was the fact that you and nate had been dating for the past few months.
keeping your relationship a secret from your brothers was more convenient for the both of you. you and nate were probably their best friends aside from each other, so they were very protective over you both. nick, matt, and chris had numerous conversations with you about dating boys, constantly lecturing you about being careful with who you choose to date. you'd also overheard the conversations they had with nate, reminding him to never settle for a girl who didn't meet his expectations.
it was safe to say that both of you were way too scared to tell the triplets about your relationship, so you just snuck around them. nate would sneak into your room late at night for movie dates, lie about extra hockey practices to take you on dates, and sit across from you at group dinners so he could playfully kick you under the table.
nick hugged nate tight, patting him on his back. he pulled back, and matt emerged from the kitchen to greet nate as well.
"wow, it's like i gotta whole entourage," nate chuckled, pulling matt in for a hug.
"well, you killed it out there tonight," matt smiled into his friends shoulder, squeezing him tightly. "you deserve it, dude."
nate peered over his friends shoulder to look at you, smiling when he saw your figure leaning against the counter. he pulled back from matt, reopening his arms and appraoching you. you broke into a grin, running up to him and wrapping your arms around his torso. nate gave you a quick affectionate squeeze, pulling away to not raise suspicion.
"good job nate," you smiled up at him, stepping back and clearing your throat slightly. just being in close proximity of nate made your cheeks flush pink and your heart swell. something about nate's presence just brought the giddiness out of you, making it ten times more difficult to hide your feelings for him around your brothers.
"thanks, y/n," nate smiled back, a glint of mischief in his eye. you could practically feel the butterflies swarming in your stomach, quickly looking at the floor before you could start blushing profusely.
"here, come to the kitchen," nick said, putting a hand on nate's shoulder and leading him inside. you, matt, and chris followed closely behind.
"what's that?" nate said, noticing a plate covered by a large bowl in the middle of the counter.
"oh, mom and dad aren't here but they wanted to say congratulations, so they got you a cake." matt explained, walking behind the counter and carefully lifting the bowl.
at the mention of the absence of your parents, nate and you made eye contact, a slight tension building in between you two. you quickly tore your eyes off of him, not wanting to get worked up in front of your brothers. nate smirked at your reaction, shaking his head softly and turning back to his friends.
"looks great," nate mumbled, barely glancing at the chocolate cake marylou had made. it wasn't that he wasn't appreciative of the gesture, his mind was just way too preoccupied. you and nate hadn't had the opportunity to hang out one-on-one for a while, and it was painful to be so close without the ability to show your affection for one another.
the five of you decided to split the cake and watch a movie in the living room. chris sat in between you and nate, causing the two of you to share longing glances with each other all night. you grew more and more annoyed by the minute, wanting nothing but to melt into nate's arms and stay there for the rest of the night. nate had his own attitude, showing no interest in the movie.
"dude, you good? you've been sighing the whole time." chris nudged nate, who seemingly snapped out of a trance.
"what? oh, yeah, sorry. just tired," nate said, rubbing his eyes. you saw right through him though, knowing that there was no way he was sleepy this early in the night. "might go home soon, actually."
"oh, okay," chris nodded, reaching for the remote and exiting from the movie. you stood up, smoothing out your pants and turning to your brothers.
"yeah, i'm tired too. i'm gonna go to bed," you said, bending down to give chris a quick hug and giving the rest of them a quick wave. "goodnight guys!"
"night y/n," the four of them replied. you smiled and turned away, rushing to your room. as soon as you shut the door you pulled your phone out of your pocket, opening your texts with nate.
y/n
pls tell me ur gonna come over tn
i miss u
nate 💕
ofc baby
be there in like an hour?
y/n
perfect :)
you smiled, feeling a weight lifted off of your shoulders. you flopped onto your bed with a sigh, scrolling through tiktok while you waited. you stayed alert, listening for your brothers footsteps as they headed into their own bedrooms for the night.
you grew more and more antsy as you waited for nate, dying to embrace him. you decided to get up and change to pass the time. you put on a sports bra and some pyjama pants, knowing that it was one of nate's favorite outfits on you. you went back to the bed, shutting your ceiling light off and turning on a lamp instead.
soon enough, you heard three rapid knocks on the glass of your window, indicating that nate was there. you practically jumped up, rushing to the window and pushing your curtains back, grinning when you saw nate standing outside, still in his hockey uniform. you pushed the window open, reaching out to pull nate into your room.
"woah! someone's impatient," nate teased, hopping over the window ledge and into your room.
"shut up," you rolled your eyes, wrapping your arms around nate's neck. he places his hands on your hips, leaning down to press his lips against yours. you hummed, smiling and melting into him.
"missed ya so much," nate mumbled against your lips. you blushed at his sweetness, hugging him tighter.
"you didn't change?" you pulled back, looking nate up and down, noticing he was still in his hockey clothes. nate shrugged, peeling his jersey off of his body. you watched, mesmerized. nate took his jersey and brought it up to your head, sliding the shirt onto you. you quickly stuck your arms though the holes. the jersey completely englufed you, reaching your upper thigh. nate giggled at the sight.
"you look so cute," nate said, bringing his hand up to your cheek and pushing hair out of your face. you felt heat rush to your cheeks, and nate immediately noticed. "what? why're you blushin'?"
"i dunno, you just have that effect on me i guess," you mumbled. nate grinned, pulling you back up into a kiss. he parted his lips. slipping his tongue into your mouth. you eagerly accepted, sliding your own tongue against his. nate let his other hand trail down your ass, giving it a squeeze.
you moaned into nate's mouth, reaching your hand up to the back of his neck, tugging on his hair. nate groaned, pulling you impossibly closer to him.
"nate," you whined, feeling a warmth grow in between in between your legs. you grinded your hips forward into nate's, causing him to moan softly.
"you don't know what you're doin’ to me, baby," nate whispered, pushing your hips into his so you could feel his hard dick pressing against you. you whimpered, reaching down to the hem of of his shirt. nate pulled back, allowing you to pull the shirt up and off of him. you watched in awe, admiring his toned body. you reached out and ran your hands down his bare torso. you stopped at his pants, hooking your fingers into the band of his boxers and pulling him closer. nate slid his own hands under his jersey on your body, rubbing your waist just above your pants.
nate walked you over to the end of your bed, lightly pushing you back. you fell against the mattress with a soft giggle, causing nate to smile down at you. he reached for the waistband of your pjs, leaning down to kiss you as he slid your pants off of your legs. you shuddered at the cold air against your bare skin, pressing nate's body closer to yours to absorb his heat.
nate spread your legs apart, standing in between them. he reached down and fumbled with the tie of his sweatpants, frantically tugging them off along with his boxers. you watched as his dick sprung out and slapped against his stomach, his tip pink and oozing with precum. you squirmed, growing more desperate for nate.
nate bent down to place soft kisses on the plush skin of your thigh, gently hooking his fingers in your panties. he slowly slid your underwear down, pulling them off and discarding them somewhere around the room. you bucked your hips up in desire, but nate’s hand came down to your hip, pinning you down.
“i know, baby,” nate mumbled, standing up and climbing on top of you. nate propped himself up with his hands on either side of your head, his cock resting against your stomach. you whined desperately, wanting nothing but to feel nate inside of you.
“please, nate,” was all you had to whimper out for nate to line himself up with your entrance. nate moaned at the feeling of your wet folds, biting his lip as he slowly pushed himself inside of you. you reached up to the back of his neck, pulling him down so you could kiss him. nate sloppily moved his mouth with yours, your tongues messily moving together as nate thrusted deeper inside of you.
you winced at the feeling of nate stretching you out, not used to the size of his dick even after having sex with him countless times. nate let out a strangled groan as he sunk deeper into you, feeling your plush tight walls hug his cock so perfectly. you reached down to nate’s back, raking your fingernails up his smooth skin.
nate's tip grazed past your g-spot, causing your back to arch in pleasure. nate grunted, moving to kiss your neck. nate stilled when he bottomed out inside of you, waiting for your signal. he pulled back to look at you. you peered back up at nate, bringing your hand to his cheek and stroking his skin, gently nodding to give him the go ahead. he reconnected his lips with yours, slowly beginning to thrust into you.
you let out a sigh of pleasure as you felt nate rock into you, gaining speed with every thrust. a pressure began build in your stomach, your own hips grinding up to meet nate's. nate let out a shaky breath, tucking his head into your neck. you let your head fall back onto the mattress so that your neck was more exposed nate took his opportunity, latching his lips onto the skin just above your collarbone and sucking harshly enough to leave a mark.
"fuck, nate," you whimpered, bringing a hand to the back of his head and tugging on his hair. nate kissed the bruise on your neck, moving to rest his head on your shoulder. he brought his hands down to your hips, pushing his jersey slightly up and pinning your hips down.
you gasped as nate suddenly shifted his pace, now fucking you faster and deeper than before. you dug your nails into his back, leaving long scratch marks. you couldn't help yourself, throwing your head back and letting out a moan.
"nate! oh my g—" nate clapped a hand over your mouth to quiet you. you continued to moan into his hand, causing blood to rush to nate's cock.
"don't want your—fuck—brothers to hear, do ya?" nate breathed out. you let out a muffled whine as nate bit his lip to suppress his own noises.
"nate, fuck, please don't stop," you spoke into his hand, squirming as you felt your orgasm approach. nate's thrusting grew sloppier, soft grunts escaping from his throat. he removed his hand from your mouth, leaning down to kiss you again. he brought his hand to yours, interlocking your fingers and giving your hand a gentle reassuring squeeze.
just seconds after, you felt your orgasm wash over you. you kept your lips on nate's, allowing him to swallow your noises of pleasure. nate's hips stuttered and stilled as he came inside of you, breathing shakily against your lips. he stayed there for a few moments, cherishing the feeling of your body so close to his.
nate pulled out slowly, peppering your face with kisses. you sighed with exhaustion but still smiled sweetly up at nate. he moved off of you, turning around, grabbing his sweats and boxers from the floor and heading to the bathroom. he returned with his bottoms on and a damp washcloth in hand. nate stood in between your legs, gently cleaning you up as you caught your breath. nate placed a quick kiss on your inner thigh, before grabbing your own underwear and pants sliding them back up your legs. once he redressed you, nate climbed back over you and kissed your cheek.
"you okay, baby?" nate asked, turning onto his back and pulling you onto his chest.
"mmhm," you hummed, shutting your eyes. nate smiled down at you, kissing the top of your head.
"tired?" nate wrapped his arms around you. he ran his knuckles up and down your back soothingly.
"yeah," you mumbled, burying your face into his chest. nate absentmindedly played with the hem of the jersey your were still wearing.
"y'know, you pull this off better than me," nate chuckled. you smiled into his chest, pulling him closer.
"do you have to go?" you whined, not wanting to let him go.
"you know i do," nate mumbled. you lifted your head from his chest and frowned at him. nate shook his head and placed a quick peck to your lips. "hey, we’re all gonna go out for breakfast tomorrow, so i'll see you then!"
"i know, but i just want to be able to hang out with you like this." you pouted. nate frowned back.
"i know, baby, me too," nate sighed. the two of you laid their in each other's arms for a few minutes before nate had to get up to leave. you pouted as you watched nate put his shirt back on. once he was ready to go, he went up to you, placing a few soft, sweet kisses on your lips. "good night, y/n."
"good night, nate," you replied, a light blush dusting your cheeks still.
...
“y/n, hurry up! we’re leaving soon!” nick yelled through your bedroom door, waking you from you deep sleep. you let out an annoyed groan, rubbing your eyes to adjust to the morning sunlight streaming through your window.
“did you just wake up?” now matt’s voice was at the door. you reached for your phone on the nightstand, unlocking it to see that it said 10:30 am. you had to leave any minute now.
“shit,” you rasped, moving to roll out of bed before you heard the doorknob turn. your head snapped to the door, watching as nick entered the room, followed by matt and then chris.
“y/n, get up! nate’s gonna be here to pick us up soon,” matt scolded. at the mention of nate’s name, you suddenly remembered the night before.
“dude, what are you wearing?” chris asked, noticing an unusually large blue shirt on you that he had never seen before.
“uh, nothing!” you grabbed your comforter and pulled it close to your chest, shielding nate’s jersey from your brothers’ prying eyes.
“is that a jersey?” nick chuckled, assuming that you were just embarrassed to be caught in your sleep clothes. matt however, snapped his head towards you, trying to get a glimpse of what you were wearing.
“blue and red? is that our team’s jersey?” matt asked, stepping closer towards you. you hugged the blanket tighter around yourself.
“no! i don’t know what your talking about,” you said frantically. now all three of your brothers were looking at you, seeing right through your lies.
“y/n, whose jersey is that?” chris asked, his eyebrows furrowing and his face turning into a frown.
“no one’s!” you pleaded, but your brothers didn’t believe you for a second. with that, chris walked up to the side of your bed and yanked the comforter down before scooping his arms under your body and lifting you out of bed.
“chris, put me down!” you yelped, trying to squirm away.
“number 5, isn’t that nate’s number?” nick’s words left the room silent. you froze, not knowing what to say or how to explain yourself. chris silently placed you down on the bed, looking at his brothers in shock.
fortunately, you didn’t have to deal with the awkwardness for long, as the doorbell rung and matt left to answer the door. unfortunately, the person at the door was nate, who matt dragged right back to your room.
nate stumbled in with a confused expression before his eyes landed on you in his jersey. he gulped, looking around to see matt, chris, and nick glaring at him.
“…hey gu—“
“nate, are you fucking y/n?” matt asked bluntly. nate’s eyes widened, glancing over at yours.
“what? no, of course not,” nate defended. your heart was racing. you knew that your brothers weren’t stupid. but you had promised nate that you wouldn’t let them find out, and now this was all your fault.
nate seemed to notice the anxious expression growing on your face, guilt washing over him. he remembered your words from last night, when you told him that you wanted to be able to be with him openly. he sighed, deciding to bite the bullet for both of you.
“y/n and i are dating.” all three of your brothers’ jaws dropped to the floor. you widened your eyes at the confession, making eye contact with nate. he smiled softly at you before looking back at the boys around him.
"WHAT.” matt was the first of them to speak.
“how long has this been going on?” nick interrogated, crossing his arms over his chest.
“um, a few months?” you admitted sheepishly. nick’s jaw dropped once again.
“dude, you can’t date our little sister!” chris said to nate, who scratched the back of his neck.
“well it’s a little late for that talk now,” you rolled your eyes. "can you guys just get out so i can get ready? we can talk about this later."
matt and chris opened their mouth in protest, but nick cut them off before they could say anything.
"yeah, get dressed. nate, let's talk." nick glared at his friend, making his way out of the room and dragging nate out by his arm. as he was being pulled out or your room, nate flashed you a quick grin, and you smiled softly in response. matt and chris followed them out, shutting the door behind them.
you let out a sigh. honestly, you were more relieved now than worried. finally, you and nate could be around your brothers without the burden of keeping your relationship a secret, there had been so many times you just wanted to tell your brothers about how happy you were with nate, but you couldn't. even if your brothers didn't approve of your relationship, there was nothing they could really do about it now.
you quickly brushed your teeth, washed your face, and changed into a nice outfit(composed of your own clothes). you grabbed your phone and slowly opened your bedroom door, peeking out to see nick leaning against the wall, waiting for you.
"ready?" nick asked when he saw you. you nodded. "c'mon, let's go."
you were grateful for nick's calm energy as the two of you walked side by side to the front door. you crossed the lawn to the driveway, where matt's minivan stood, engine running. through the windshield you saw matt in the drivers seat, seemingly scolding nate, who was in the passenger seat. chris was leaning forwards so he could be in between them, butting in to give his own opinions. when nate saw you walk towards the car, he smiled in relief. matt looked up as well, rolling his eyes when he saw you wave at nate.
nick opened the backseat door for you, and chris scooted down to the seat behind matt. you went to the middle seat, nick sitting on your other side and shutting the door. matt began reversing out of the driveway, the car falling into silence.
"sooo guys," you spoke, hoping to ease some of the tension. "where are we getting breakfast?"
"waffle house," chris mumbled, pulling out his phone to connect to aux.
"i love waffle house!" you and nate said in unison. matt groaned, and chris faked a gagging sound. you looked at nick, who bit his lip to keep from smiling. nate giggled, causing you to laugh back.
chris started playing music, and you grew more comfortable, knowing that your brothers weren't super mad. when you got to waffle house, the six of you chose to sit in a booth. matt, chris, and nick sat on one side, leaving you and nate to sit next to each other on the other side. a waitress came by with menus, faltering when she saw the triplets.
"are you guys triplets?" she asked.
"no?" nick feigned confusion, looking at the waitress. the rest of you looked at her with a confused look too.
"o-oh," she stammered, hastily setting your menus in front of you with embarrassment. "um, can i get you guys anything to drink?"
the waitress glanced to you first, pulling out her notepad.
"chocolate milk."
she nodded, looking to nate.
"uh, i'll have chocolate milk too, please." nate glanced at the triplets, whose eyes flicked between you and nate. the rest of them ordered their drinks and the waitress hastily left. you kicked nick from under the table.
"ow!" nick winced, leaning down to rub his shin.
"guys, c'mon, she was so embarrassed," you scolded your brothers for their prank on the waitress.
"it's funny, she'll be fine," chris shrugged, looking over his menu. you rolled your eyes, picking up your own menu and scanning over it. nate leaned over to look at your menu, not bothering to pick up his own.
"what're you gonna get?" nate whispered to you. you pointed to an option, nate nodding in approval. you set the menu down and looked up to see your brothers staring at you, once again.
"what?"
"okay, c'mon guys, they're kind of cute," nick told his brothers, who returned his words with a look of disgust.
"this is gross," chris scowled.
"y'know, for once, i agree with you chris," matt said. you shook your head, looking at nate who had a grin plastered on his face.
"you love us," nate teased his friends.
"dude, shut up," chris scoffed, leaning back into his seat.
"so is this just how it's gonna be from now on?" you asked, looking around at your brothers and boyfriend.
"yup," matt sighed. you looked at him with a smile, and he bit his cheek to resist smiling back, but you could see that deep down he approved.
nate placed a reassuring hand on your thigh, rubbing small circles with his thumb. you smiled up at him your hand sneaking under the table to grab his. nate interlocked his fingers with yours and brought your hand to his lap, keeping it there until the waitress came back with your drinks.
the five of you enjoyed your breakfast together, you and nate occasionally rolling your eyes as your brothers made snide comments about your relationship. you couldn't keep from smiling though, knowing that this was just their way of saying that they were happy for you both.
...
author's note: this is me coming out as a nate girl, through and through. if nate has a million fangirls, i'm one of them. if he has one fangirl, it's me. if he has no fangirls, i'm dead. love u guys, happy spring 🌻 !

Look, I'm probably going to get a lot of shit for this but this show was all about breaking cycles.
Rebecca could have become another wealthy owner, utterly embittered, much more interested in hurting those around them to keep themselves up than to actually finding any happiness in the world. Instead she became her own person, found several families, embraced them all, and gave back in a way that helped most of them.
Nate could have learned that lashing out and repression were at least an outlet for his frustrations, he could have followed in Rupert's footsteps and become a miserable jackass. Instead by accepting the kindness and Grace of other people he started over, found love, and came home.
Keeley could have become a lot like her friend, never recognizing her inherent talents, slowly panicking as she aged, abandoned by the Machine by the time she was 30. She could have seen other women as enemies or at least combatants, but instead she found better friendship and mentorship and began to pass it on to others as she bettered her own life.
Roy's endless cycle of rage and hurting himself and pushing himself too hard to return could have literally killed him. He could have been like any number of Aging athletes whose life ends at 35. Instead he has a new career in a place that he loves, and he is finding ways to improve his mental health and open up.
Jamie could have been just another celebrity douchebag, possibly even sinking into the alcoholism that was taking his father. Just as much as keely, he was often seen as only as good as his physical fitness and his body, but he went back and read the books, he learned tactics, he learned to accept help and to give help and he became 10 times the man and 10 times the player that he was at the beginning. his career could have flamed out young but he got his second chance and he gave his father a second chance in turn.
And Ted, oh god Ted. his father made the ultimate selfish choice. He decided if he couldn't be perfect and he couldn't be everything he would be nothing. He would rather absent himself from his son's life then be there for him in whatever ways he could. Ted could have been happy in england. Ted could have had an incredible career. But Henry would not have had a father. How many times did people remind us that parents are responsible for the ways they fuck up their children during this show? Every other fucking episode, another way to point out that there are cycles of failure and frustration and psychological damage that get passed down from generation to generation. He broke that cycle, over and over. He didn't pin Michelle down into an unhappy marriage. They split up, and were both happier for it. He chose to put his son first, to not abandon him. He can have an incredible career anywhere in the world with a season like that. But he can't be in Henry's life the way he wants to be from six time zones away.
This isn't denigrating people who by necessity are long distance parents. But I would be willing to bet that if you asked any of those long distance parents if, given the choice, they would move back to be close to their kids? I'm willing to bet you pretty much every single one of them would say fuck yes, I want to hug them in the morning and tuck them in bed at night. I want to go to their soccer games and see their art shows.
Ted chose to be sincerely and honestly present in Henry's life. I don't think he's getting back with Michelle, he's not going back for a marriage. He's going home to be a father and I think his father would be proud.

     Cassie Howard was a lover girl. She loved love, she loved being loved and she loved loving others. She had been in a few relationships here and there, and she fell hard for every guy she was with. Many of those guys had just been with her for the sexual benefits that came with being in a relationship, some of them because they really liked her. Regardless of the reason, every one of those relationships ended the same way; her being broken up with.
"I'm not looking for anything serious."
"I'm not into you like that."
"I'm interested in someone else one."
"I just want to work on myself."
She'd heard every reason in the book, and they all hurt. Breakups always were painful, but having a bullshit excuse come with it made it even worse. Out of all of the excuses she'd heard, there was one that stood out the most. One that hurt more than all the rest, one that was more common for her to hear.
"You're just too clingy, it's too much."
She would rather hear anything but that. The word clingy cut her deep, it was a continuous wound that never healed regardless of who she was with. She couldn't help it, she wanted the person she was with to know she loved them and she wanted to feel that love was reciprocated. She often seeked out reassurance, none of them ever gave it. Her love ran so deep, all she wanted was that same type of love in return. Granted, she had also never been in a healthy relationship, until she met Y/n Y/l/n.
Cassie met him during her senior year a little while after her split from Chris McKay. She knew of Y/n, even if she didn't know him personally. He was a hockey player at East Highland, one of their best players. He was a senior just like her, and was relatively popular. The party— that was being hosted by someone whose name she couldn't remember— was being held at a large house with hundreds of people from their school. She and her sister Lexi arrived with their group of friends after spending hours getting ready together. She hadn't been single for this long until a while, but for once, she didn't mind. She was okay, she felt alright. She enjoyed spending the time getting ready and looking pretty for herself and not for someone else, it felt so good. Even knowing she would possibly run into McKay at the party didn't bother her or make her feel pressured to look perfect. She wanted to look perfect for herself. She was proud of herself for that.
     It had been a while since her and her friends went to a party together, they were making the most out of it and living it up. Maddy and Nate just so happened to also be split up, so they weren't spending the evening clinging to their man's arms. They were dancing with their girls, laughing, and having fun.
     At some point during the night, Cassie decided she wanted a drink, as anyone attending a party would. There was a bar area she had been told was set up in the middle of house, and as she made her way to said bar area, some people who were mindlessly dancing bumped into her rather aggressively. Which then sent her flying into another person, sending them to the floor. That person just so happened to Y/n Y/l/n.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! Are you okay? I'm so sorry," she frantically told him, helping him up from the ground.
"No worries, I'm okay," Y/n said, rubbing the back of his head as he accepted her help up.
"I feel horrible. I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to knock you over. I was trying to get through and there were people dancing and—"
"Hey, seriously, it's alright. No need to apologize," He gave her a small smile, "I'm used to it from Hockey." He joked.
Of course, that didn't stop her from feeling bad for knocking into him. Every time she tried to apologize, he was wave her off, assuring her that it truly was alright and it was no big deal. She offered to make him a drink as a final apology, claiming she knew a special recipe she could make with the liquor that was present. He took that opportunity to make an agreement; if he accepted the drink, she would stop apologizing.
      "Okay, fine. I can agree to that," Cassie chuckled, grabbing two cups and a couple of the bottles. Before she could start pouring, Y/n put a hand on her arm.
     "We have to pinky swear," He grinned, holding his pinky out to her. She playfully rolled her eyes before locking her pinky with his, squeezing it slightly.
     "Pinky swear." That lead to the two spending the whole night talking to one another, getting to know each other. He was such a gentleman and so kind right off the bat in a way none of the other guy's at their school were. He was also strikingly handsome, which was just an added bonus. They spent quite a lot of the night chit chatting, not realizing how long it had been until Maddy came looking for Cassie.
"There you are, come dance with me!" Maddy exclaimed, taking Cassie's hand and trying to drag her away.
"Hold on, one sec Maddy," The blonde said, motioning to the boy next to her. Maddy made an o"o" shape with her mouth before smirking at her, giving her a thumbs up and walking away.
Y/n chuckled the interaction, "Well, I better let you get back to your friends. I've kept you held up long enough," he stated.
"Yeah, I guess. It was really nice talking to you, Y/n. We'll have to talk more soon," Cassie responded, a large grin on her face.
"Yes, definitely," Y/n said before quickly grabbing his phone from his back pocket. "Would you... maybe want to give me your number? So we can keep talking more? Only if you want to, only if you're comfortable with that." His cheek flushed a light shade of pink as he waited for her response.
"Of course, I'd love that." They exchanged phone numbers before bidding their goodbyes, both smiling equally as wide.
That was just the start of their story. They quickly began texting all the time, every day. They would meet up every now and then at school, hang out after school, and before long Cassie began to develop feelings for the boy. This time, it was different. Y/n was unlike any other boy she had ever met; He was funny, kind, respectful, and cared about more than just her pretty face or body. He cared about all the little things, just as much as the big things. He knew all her favorite things, all her little habits and ticks, and he knew how to make her smile.
About two months later, Y/n decided he was going to ask the girl he had fallen so hard for to be his girlfriend. It started with him asking her in a date, to which she said yes. He had arranged a surprise dinner at her favorite restaurant and got her a big, beautiful bouquet of her favorite flowers. After dinner, he took her to his house where he decorated the finished basement with lights, flower petals, and candles. He set up a cozy movie station for them to watch her favorite movies.
During the movie, they went from sitting next to each other to Cassie snuggling into his chest. As the credits rolled, he shifted upwards causing her to look up.
"Y/n? You okay?" Cassie asked, her eyebrows furrowing together.
He took a deep breath in, preparing himself in his head. "Cass?" He said.
"Yes?"
"I need to ask you something," he kept his sentences short in order to not word vomit due to his intense nerves. Cassie sat up straight, looking him in the face as she felt her heart start to beat faster. Could this be it? Is he gonna ask what I think? She thought to herself.
"So, I'm sure you can probably tell based on me asking you on a date, but I really, really like you," he began, feeling himself blush.
"I really like you too, Y/n." She beamed, unable to hide the pure joy on her face.
"Yeah?" He asked, grinning like he'd just won an award. The girl nodded, and he inched his hand towards hers. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
"I would love to be your girlfriend, Y/n."
Just like that, they were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Y/n swore he'd never been happier in his whole life, and he made it his mission to show her every single day. He brought her flowers on a daily basis, took her on all kinds of dates every week, made sure she knew how beautiful she was every day, and made sure make his devotion known.
In every relationship she had been in at this point, she had been spoiled, but not to this extent. Nobody had ever shown her this kind of affection, let alone kept it consistent no matter how much time passed. She had never felt so loved, and it made her fall in love with him even harder than she already was. She couldn't believe how lucky she had been to find him.
     Months passed, the two were more attached at the hip than ever. At school, Y/n walked Cassie to all her classes, sat with her at lunch, and drove her to and from school. After school, she would attend all his practices and games for both sports depending on the season. He would go to all her ice skating practices, and anything she found important. They spent all their free time together, it was hard to get one away from the other. Y/n's friends made fun of him, but he always shut them down and made sure they knew not to make any comments that were anything but nice about his girl. He didn't care what they had to say, all he cared about was Cassie. He pushed her to make time for her friends as well as him, but he didn't mind not hanging out with his friends that often. None of them were as close as Cassie was to her friends.
Eventually, they met each other's parents and families. Casie invited him over for dinner and it was safe to say Suze absolutely adored Y/n. She made sure to point out the drastic change she'd seen in her daughter since he came along, she hadn't seen her that happy in a long time. Not even with McKay. When meeting Y/n's family, Cassie was invited to their annual bowling night. It was the family's thing, it was very rare for them to invite newcomers. But, Cassie was different. They gladly made the exception, and ended up all loving the girl just as much as Suze loved Y/n.
Their relationship was relatively flawless, though they definitely had their struggles every now and then. Cassie had never been in a relationship that was healthy, and had plenty of work to do to make this relationship stay that way. She had insecurities and fears she needed to stay mindful of, and Y/n was there to help her every step of the way. He reassured her, comforted her, and was very patient and supportive of her. For the most part, she learned to feel secure.
One thing Cassie hadn't learned to handle though, was her clinginess. Sometimes, she wouldn't even catch herself being clingy. Other times, her ex's voices rang in her mind telling her she was "too clingy" and "too much" nonstop. When that happened, she would begin to pull away a little bit in fear he would think the same thing as the other's did. Y/n only ever noticed a difference when she would pull away from him, which left him confused. He would try to pry and talk to her about it, and every time she would just brush it off like it was nothing. He could clearly tell it was something, but she wouldn't budge.
That was until she began acting that way in the middle of date night. It was their date night in for the month, where they typically would cook together and watch whatever show they were currently binging together. One date a month they would do this, the rest of their dates they went out and about. Cassie was usually rather cuddly and touchy with her boyfriend, she never found herself overthinking during their dates. This particular day was a Friday, and at school she heard other cheerleaders talking very loudly about her boyfriend in the locker rooms after practice.
"I can't believe Cassie and Y/n are still together," one girl said. Cassie, who was in a bathroom stall, tried her hardest to ignore them. At first, she brushed it off, until they kept going and would not shut the fuck up.
"I know right! How is he not sick of her?"
"She literally throws herself at him 24/7, it's insane."
"She is so fucking desperate, he must get so tired of it. I swear I saw him move away from her when she tried to hug him today."
"It's about time, maybe he's realizing he can someone less pathetic."
The blonde couldn't get their words out of her head, no matter how hard she tried. If other people thought that way, surely he did too, right? People she barely even talked to could sense how clingy she was, and apparently how annoyed he appeared. That right there was enough to send her into an overthinking episode, one much worse than she'd had in a while. As Y/n dished up their places, she was leaned against the counter, staring off into space as she thought it all over. She was pulled from her thoughts when her boyfriend wrapped an arm around her, telling her the food was ready. She quickly shied away from him, bidding him a thank you as she took her plate and headed towards the stairs.
"Hey, babe?" Y/n called out, his tone laced with concern. She turned around to look at him as he grabbed his own plate and began walking towards her. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," she whispered, staring at the ground and going down the stairs. The boy furrowed his eyebrows, following close behind her. They sat on the couch together with their plates in their laps, Y/n taking a seat close to his girlfriend. She scooted over the slightest bit, but wanting to appear like she was all over him. Many red flags were going off in Y/n's head, she wasn't being her usual, lovey, talkative self. Something was definitely wrong. The boy kept making advances in attempt to be close to her, just to be rejected each and every time.
After a half hour of them going back and forth, him silently trying to fix the problem, he decided to speak up. "Baby?"
"Hm?"
"What's going on with you today?" He finally asked, staring at her with a look of concern. She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze as she tried not to make eye contact.
     "Nothings going on," she lied, looking everywhere but at him.
     "Yes there is," he stated. "I know you like the back of my hand and you've been acting super off since after practice. Talk to me, love."
     "I don't know what you're talking about," Y/n knew what she was doing; she was bullshitting him to avoid talking about the problem. If it was over something small, he would wait until she was ready to talk about it. This was different, and he wanted— no, needed to know what was wrong so he could fix it.
     "You've been really quiet, which isn't like you. You haven't really let me touch you, and you haven't been touchy with me either—"
     "What's so bad about that?" she cut him off, her voice just barely above a whisper.
      "What? What do you mean?" Y/n asked, feeling even more confused and concerned.
      "I mean I'm too clingy, anyways. And I'm too much, what's so bad about me not acting like that?" As she spoke, her eyes filled with tears. The moment Y/n noticed, he was taking her face in his hands and moving her head to face him. She still avoided his gaze as she tried to keep her tears at bay.
     "Baby, look at me," she shook her head no, but that didn't stop him. "Cassie, please. I need you to look at me,"
     After what felt like forever, she finally met his gaze and he swore he felt himself melt in her eyes.
“Cassie, you are not too clingy or too much.“ he told her firmly.
“But, I’m all over you all the time. It’s pathetic,” the girl scoffed as her boyfriend wiped her tears with his thumbs.
“Why would you say that, love? You’re not pathetic,” he whispered with a sad frown.
“Because it’s true, and you know it too.” She moved backwards away from his grasp before wiping at her own face with her hand.
“What?! No! I don’t think you’re pathetic baby, not at all. I would never, ever think that of you.”
“Maybe not now, but you will! They always do! I’m— I’m always too much, or I’m too clingy or desperate and everyone thinks so! Everyone always gets sick of me, just like you will because they’re all right!” Cassie cried out, letting her head fall into her hands as soft sobs escaped her lips. Y/n couldn’t believe his ears, it broke his heart right in half to hear that his girl thought so low of herself— and even more so that she thought he believed it, too.
“Woah, woah, woah. Who said that?” He was quickly moving to wrap his arms around her shoulders, being weakly shoved off. He didn’t let that stop him, and he pulled her into his chest and held her tightly as she cried. He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead, rocking her back and forth. They sat like that for who knows how long before Cassie calmed down, feeling embarassed about her outburst.
“Are you ready to talk, baby?” Y/n asked as he reached for a nearby box of tissues. Cassie nodded before blowing her nose. After that, she told him everything from all of the things her exes had said to her to what she overheard the girls saying in the locker room. He felt his heart shatter even more, all he wanted was to scoop her in his arms and love her forever. “My love, I need you to know they are all wrong. So wrong! I could never get sick of you, and I will never get sick of you or annoyed with you. Sure, maybe you can be clingy, but I love it. I love your clingy, because I am just as clingy to you if not more. I love how attached and touchy you are with me, I love all of it… I love you, Cassie.”
Cassie’s head perked up, fearing she misheard him. “You what?”
“I love you, Cassie. I am so in love with you,” he whispered, tucking her hair behind her ear and cupping her cheek. “You don’t have to say it back if you’re not ready, but I just wanted you to know.”
“I love you too, Y/n.” She grinned, cutting him off.
Y/n chuckled as his own smile grew. He pulled her in and gave her a soft, passionate kiss. He knew he wasn’t going to just skip over what she was worried about, and was going to continue to reassure her, but right now he was so ecstatic to know that she loved him just like he loved her.

pov: matt
"Hey pretty boy," Layla's voice rang through the cold air as I felt her arms wrap around my waist, her chest pressed to my back as she leaned up to kiss me on the cheek. I smiled as I placed my hands on hers before turning my head to look back at her smiling face.
"Hey," I murmured as I leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. She smiled against me before someone cleared their throat. She pulled away from me and I turned around to see Mia glaring at us from where she stood between Nate and Nick.
Layla moved to stand next to me but I grabbed her wrist, pulling her to stand in front of me as I leaned back against the side of the minivan. I wrapped my hands around her waist before I placed my chin on her shoulder. She placed her hands over mine as she leaned back into me comfortably.
I didn't realise how much I missed being close to her until I lost the opportunity to. The past week my mind had been in a constant state of purgatory, torn between trying to fix whatever rift was between us or deciding if I didn't want to talk to her anymore. Of course, the latter was at the forefront of my mind when I was initially angry but I knew it would hurt me more in the long run. It was a short-term solution and it wasn't what I really wanted.
What happened wasn't worth losing her over.
"You wanna come over?" I asked her quietly and she shivered from my breath fanning against her neck.
"I can't," she answered quietly and I furrowed my eyebrows as she turned to look at me, her brown eyes glowing in the small sunlight that peaked between the clouds, "Gotta help my dad with something."
"Can I come over then?" I asked and she pursed her lips, her eyes scanning my face before she shook her head.
"It's family stuff. I'm sorry," she leaned back, kissing my cheek gently before turning to face the group that was stood in front of us. As much as it bummed me out that I couldn't spend the rest of the day with her, I understood that I couldn't insert myself into her life with no boundaries.
I let my mind travel to tomorrow, realising it was our last game of the season and it was the deciding factor of whether or not we won the finals. I realised that I never updated Layla on our game last week.
"We're onto the finals by the way," I whispered, pulling her attention away from our friends once again and she whipped her head around to look at me, "Tomorrow's the last game."
"You won?" she asked excitedly and I smiled gently, nodding my head as I did so, "That's amazing!"
"What's amazing?" Chris asked, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he looked at us and Layla smiled as she turned to look at me.
"You guys are in the finals!" she told him with joy and he nodded, a proud smile covering his face, "Why did no one tell me?"
"Probably because you were being a bitch," Mia rolled her eyes and I let my face drop as I felt Layla's energy shift, her shoulders slumping slightly.
"Can you shut the fuck up, Mia?" I spat, my built-up frustration towards her finally spilling over and she frowned as she looked at me in disbelief, "If anything you're the one being a fucking bitch right now."
"Are you serious?" she asked, her mouth hung open as she stared at me and Layla laced her fingers with mine. She squeezed my hand in an attempt to calm me down.
"Dead serious. I told you if you don't stop I'm not gonna be your friend and I'm getting real fucking close to following through with that," I deadpanned, not feeling an ounce of guilt as her face contorted into hurt, "You have no reason to be such a bitch to Layla so fucking stop."
"I can't believe you," she mumbled, her face turning sour as she spun around and began walking out of the parking lot.
"Matt, you didn't have to be so hard on her," Allie spoke softly and I raised my eyebrows as I looked at her.
"How else is she gonna know that I'm that I'm serious? She hasn't listened to me this far," I explained, anger laced through the words that came out through gritted teeth and Layla once again squeezed my hand. I sighed, placing my forehead on her shoulder to calm myself down.
"It's okay," Layla said softly as she ran her thumb across the back of my hand and I shook my head against her shoulder.
"No, it's not," I mumbled and she sighed, leaning her head on top of mine. I felt a sense of peace wash over me, the rest of the world fading away as I only focused on her.
The way she smelled, the way her hand felt in mine, the way her thumb gently caressed the back of my hand and the way her breathing began matching mine. I lost track of time when I was with her, the only time my brain truly shut off was when I was around her. I craved that moment of us alone again and I knew she could sense that.
"Matt," Nick called my name and I reluctantly lifted my head to look at him, "Mom said we need to go grocery shopping for dinner. We gotta leave soon."
"Oh for fucks sake," I grumbled and Layla giggled under her breath making me look at her with a frown, "What?"
"Nothing," she shrugged, a smile still on her lips as I continued to stare at her, "You're just funny when you're grumpy."
"Alright, Miserable Matt. Let's go," Chris rolled his eyes as he rounded the car to jump in the passenger side and I let my frown deepen at the nickname that had stuck anytime I was anything but happy.
"I don't wanna go," I grumbled quietly enough that only Layla could hear as Nick began climbing into the backseat and Layla slowly pulled away from me as I groaned. She spun around to face me as she gave me a gentle smile.
"I'll see you tomorrow, pretty boy," she leaned in, pressing a kiss to my lips before pulling away. She knew I'd get carried away if she let the kiss linger for too long, "Have fun, Miserable Matt."
"Fuck you," I rolled my eyes as she began walking away and I pushed away from the car to stand up.
"I know you want to!" she called cheekily making me snicker as I jumped into the car, mumbling a goodbye to Nate and Allie as they got into his car.
+++
I don't know how many times I'd checked my phone since I messaged Layla asking if we could Facetime. It had been 3 hours and she still hadn't read my message. I was checking my phone every 5 minutes to see if she had replied.
"Dude," Chris deadpanned and I looked over at him from where he sat on the couch, "What are you stressing about?"
"Nothing," I brushed him off and he rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he went back to scrolling aimlessly on his phone, not bothering to pry further. I picked up my phone again, the notifications still empty and I sighed loudly.
"If you don't put that fucking phone down Matt I'm gonna throw it in the pool," Nick deadpanned and I looked over at him with a frown, "She'll reply when she has a moment. Stop being a psycho."
"I'm not being a psycho," I rolled my eyes, locking my phone as I put it face down on the couch. I slouched further back onto the couch as I crossed my arms over my chest, my eyes drifting back to the TV where a random movie was playing.
"I didn't know you were so clingy," Chris joked as he continued scrolling on his phone and I ignored him as I chewed on the inside of my cheek. Suddenly, there was a knock at the front door and I frowned, looking between my brothers.
"We expecting anyone?" I questioned as I got up from the couch, knowing both of my parents were already in bed so it wouldn't be anyone here for them. Both Nick and Chris shook their heads and I hesitantly walked to the front door. I swung it open to find Layla standing there with trembling hands and shaky breaths leaving her mouth. Her hair was covering the majority of her face but when she looked up at me, my heart dropped.
"I didn't have anywhere else to go," she choked out as tears sprung to her eyes and I froze for a moment, my body not knowing how to handle the situation.
"Matt, who is it?" I heard Nick's voice appear behind me for a moment before he gasped, "Holy shit. Layls, are you okay?"
"What's going on?" Chris asked and I ignored him as I grabbed Layla's arm to pull her inside. I didn't even close the front door behind me as I pulled her into the kitchen.
"Here, sit on the bench," I told her as shoved the various papers away from the edge of the island before I held her waist to help her up onto the cold marble, "Chris, get the first aid kit."
Chris didn't respond, I only heard him run down the hall to get the first aid kit from the bathroom as Layla caught her breath in front of me. Nick walked over to the freezer, grabbing out an ice pack as I placed my hand on her thigh.
"Baby, are you hurt anywhere else?" I asked, my voice shaking as I took in the pure terror in her eyes and she nodded her head, "Can you tell me where?"
"My back," she croaked out and I sighed when Chris returned with the first aid kit, quickly unpacking it on the bench beside her.
"Can I take this off? I just wanna check the rest of your body," I asked her softly as I grabbed the hem of the pink sweater that had drops of blood splattered over it. She didn't respond verbally, only nodded her head as she unravelled her arms from around her stomach.
I gently pulled the crewneck up as she lifted her arms up for me to slide the material over her head. She was only wearing a thin tank top underneath so it made it easier for me to scan her body for any damage. My heart cracked in my chest when I noticed the myriad of bruises littering her body as she covered her face with her hands. I moved around her, noticing the giant bruise on the lower half of her back. I tried not to stare too long knowing it would make her feel insecure so I let out a breath as I grabbed her wrists to pull her hands away from her face as she sniffled.
"Let me help pretty girl," I whispered as she continued looking down between us in shame and she once again nodded. Chris and Nick just stared at me in worry, their entire demeanour towards her changing now that they realised she was in some sort of danger. I could tell they wanted to help but weren't sure how. I let my eyes scan her face, the cut on her right cheekbone continued bleeding as it dripped down her face slowly and the split on her lip had dried blood around it.
"I can clean the cuts if you want," Chris spoke up softly and Layla turned her head to look at him as she tried to keep herself calm, "I know how to do it properly."
"You okay with that?" I asked her as I grabbed her hand and she hesitated for a moment before she nodded. Chris quickly grabbed the gauze and disinfectant wipes as I moved to stand to her left, still holding onto her hand to bring her any sort of comfort that I could.
"This might sting a little," Chris mumbled as he tore open the packet of wipes before unfolding it. Layla moved her hair out of her face, holding it back with a shaking hand as Chris moved to stand between her legs. As he began wiping around the small gash, she hissed from the pain, "Sorry. I'll try to be quick."
"Matt," Nick said from behind Layla on the other side of the island making me look up at him. He tilted his head down towards her lower back and I leaned forward, noticing the bruise on her lower back seemed to get worse by the minute before he asked Layla quietly, "Layls, does it feel like anything is broken?"
She took a moment to let Chris pull away as her face screwed up in pain before she muttered, "No. Just my back really hurts."
"Can I put the ice pack on it?" Nick asked and she hummed as Chris picked up the tweezers.
"This is gonna hurt," Chris let her know and she hummed once again as Nick placed the ice pack against her back. Chris began picking out small shards of glass that were stuck on the edge of the cut as Layla squeezed my hand. She let out a groan and Chris pursed his lip as he tried to work quickly before he mumbled, "Almost done."
He put the tweezers down before grabbing another disinfectant wipe, ripping the packet open and quickly wiping the cut gently once again. He grabbed another gauze and placed it over the cut before he leaned back.
"Hold that there until the bleeding stops then I'll tape a clean one on after," he explained, his voice calm as she nodded. She replaced his hand with her own, "I'm gonna clean your lip but if you put an icepack on it after it will heal fine."
She hummed in response as he used the disinfectant wipe to clean the cut on her lip before he pulled away and stepped back. She gave him a small smile that didn't reach her eyes as she whispered, "Thank you."
"Of course," Chris shrugged as he grabbed the wipes and the rest of the trash on the bench beside her.
"Here," Nick said as he leaned over the island and handed me another small ice pack. I nodded thankfully before I placed the ice pack on her lip and she looked at me with heavy eyes. I gave her a small smile as I leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"You okay?" I asked quietly and she closed her eyes, shrugging as she shivered.
"Let us know if you guys need anything," Nick said as he rounded the island and Layla looked at them both with sad eyes.
"Sorry for just walking in like this," she said quietly, her voice filled with shame and Nick shook his head as Chris stood in the doorway to go down the hall.
"It's okay. Just glad to know you're okay," he said softly and she gave him a small smile. Both of them exited the room and I moved to stand between her legs, still holding the ice pack against her lip as I looked down at her.
She didn't say anything, she just grabbed my wrist to pull my hand away that was holding the ice pack and she placed her forehead on my chest with a sigh. I let my shoulders drop as I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and pulled her into me.
We stood like that for a moment in silence as I let her breathe, looking down at her back where the bruise seemed to now be fully formed. I felt a weight on my chest, an anger flushing over me towards whoever did this to her. I knew being angry wouldn't help her right now but I couldn't push down the feeling as it rose throughout my body.
"I'm so tired," she mumbled, snapping me out of my own thoughts as she pulled away from me slightly and I looked down at her once again tear-filled eyes, "This is just so tiring."
"I'm sorry, pretty girl," I whispered as I placed another kiss on her forehead, a few tears spilling down her red cheeks as she tried to steady her breathing, "Do you want to go to my room? We can just lay down for a bit."
She let out a shaky breath before nodding and I pulled away from her. I helped her off of the counter and she grabbed the pink sweater as I grabbed the large ice pack that was against her back. I threw it in the freezer, grabbing a bag of frozen peas since it would cover the surface of her back more before I grabbed her hand and we made our way upstairs slowly, her legs shaky as she walked. As we made our way into my bedroom the only thing that ran through my mind was:
Whoever did this to her, they're going to wish they were dead once I find out.

ORANGE JUICE matt sturniolo
summary: y/n comes back after a few tough months (very much recommend listening to orange juice by noah kahan before reading)
genre: fluff and angst
cw: big TW for recovering and becoming sober :)
a/n: again, theres more info in the songs if this doesn’t make much sense but yeah, hope y’all like it<3, will do more song rec fics, i love them
The triplets called me today, they heard I was better and they were hanging out with Nate and some other friends, so I decided to tag along.
It’s been 6 months on the dot since I got sober, I think they know about it. I’ve kind off disappeared from the face of the earth, changing myself, and I wasn’t sure if some people would approve.
I knock on the door and I’m greeted by Nick immediately, he engulfs me in a hug that lasts about a minute
“nick I missed you too but I think that’s enough” I laughed, trying to unwrap his arms, he eventually does it himself.
“yeah stop hogging her!” Chris says before wrapping his arms around me in yet another never ending hug. After a bit, Im left standing in front of Matt, he’s different, he’s grown a little bit of a beard, barely a beard, more like a stubble, a smile creeps up on my face, a familiar one, a feeling I hadn’t felt in a long time.
“you look great” he smiles at me, coming closer and embracing me in my third hug in the span of 5 minutes, I linger there for a little longer, he sighs and rests his head on the crook of my neck, his words tickle. “I’ve missed you, a lot” I giggle a bit as the stubble brushed against me jawline. I break from the hug as soon as I remember Nick, Chris, and Nate are waiting on us. “I missed you too” I whispered before Nick began ranting on about the things I’ve missed.
“And we’ve been on tour! And we’re going again soon” he explains as the end of his Ted talk comes to an end.
“wow! Thats great, im so happy for you guys” I can’t help but have a huge smile on my face, looking at the three and realizing how much they’ve grown without me, and the fact they’ve waited for me and they’re not mad at me for leaving, no questions asked.
“What have you been up to?” Matt asks with a quiet voice “if you don’t mind us asking” he quickly reassures me I don’t have to say anything I’m not comfortable with.
“Well, I’ve been getting help, doing better now” I leave it there, not wanting to give any more information than I needed to, not right now at least.
“That’s amazing, we’re proud of you” Matt places a hand on mine for comfort, everyone nods agreeing.
“Wanna help me with the snacks?” Matt breaks the silence, I nod and he leads me to the kitchen, it hasn’t changed a bit since I got here, there’s just more stuff, it’s more lived in, I like it.
I open the fridge and see a row of beers at the bottom, probably for when friends come over, my body goes tense and the sounds around me become muffled, I snap out of it when Matt pats on my shoulder.
“Hey, you alright?” He ask’s concerned, I know he’s trying to keep a calm expression but I can tell he’s worried.
“Yeah I’m fine just- got caught up for a second” I utter out with a sigh, I don’t notice my hand trembling till he grabs it.
“Theres orange juice here, I know it’s your favorite” he says softly, rubbing the palm of my hand, making sure I looked at him in the eyes so I wouldn’t get distracted with something else.
“Yeah? Thanks, I’ll get it then” I smile at him, he kissed the tips of my fingers gently
“Anything you need ok? Count on me, please” he begged, looking at me with sincerity, no games.
I nodded and the corners of my mouth turned upwards as it hit me that I was with him again, after such a long time, for me at least. I then grabbed the orange juice from the fridge and poured myself a cup, Matt glancing at me with a smile on his face as I did so.
Our hearts have changed, our faces have changed, but we’ll always find our way back to each other, no matter the changes we succumb to, and I’ll always hold that in my heart.

Okay but the moment when Roy walks down the stairs right as Keeley is talking to Rebecca about how awful Rupert was to come onto her after everything he had done just highlights a point that’s been made since season 1: the importance of accountability, apologizing, forgiveness, and kindness.
Rebecca rejects Rupert, a man who refuses to take accountability for any of the shitty things he’s done and who sees one positive interaction with Rebecca as an opportunity to try and kiss her and who just overall mistreats Rebecca and the majority of the people around him. Rupert never apologizes for anything he’s done. He skirts around what happened to his assistant, saying it was an overreaction. He blames Nate for leaving and not his own shitty actions. And he assumes Rebecca being kind is an invitation to come on to her, which it so obviously isn’t. Because Rebecca knows that Rupert isn’t sorry, that he intended to hurt her in the past and that he’s likely to do it again, that he is actively betraying his wife, that he is a bad guy. Rebecca has grown so much since her divorce, has found herself and found that she is worth more than the way Rupert made her feel.
Meanwhile, Roy approaches Keeley to say he’s sorry, to take accountability for leaving the way he did and to say how much he loves her and how proud of her he is and that he’s sorry if he made her feel any less about herself or doubt herself in any way. He at first intends to leave it in a note, not expecting anything from the interaction, not expecting a response, just wanting her to know that he’s sorry. The interaction isn’t about making himself feel better, it’s making sure Keeley knows how incredible she is and to apologize. And he walks away and Keeley goes after him. Because she knows him, knows he would never intend to hurt her, knows that he is genuinely sorry about what he did, and knows that they have both grown as people. Roy and Keeley have found themselves over the course of this season and in doing so found that they genuinely still love each other and want to be together. They grew back together.
The juxtaposition between Rupert, someone who is awful and doesn’t take accountability and who is horrible to Rebecca, and Roy, someone who takes accountability for what he’s done and is kind and who is genuinely supportive and loving to Keeley is what Ted Lasso is so often about. Ted Lasso is about forgiveness, redemption, and growth and about how those things have to be earned.

Your Man

Title: Your Man
Alt Title: Five Year Reunion
Disclaimer: I don’t own you or the euphoria franchise
Warning: Nate Jacobs if he got therapy, you were in maddy’s place, so whatever happened to Maddy happened to you. Maddy was your best friend at the time. Cassie still got mcjiggy w him.
Rating: PG
Request: I was wondering if you could do a Nate jacobs request with sort of like everyone is older and it’s a high school reunion Nate and the reader have been dating since high school and they are like the last to show everyone is talking about how awkward it will be for both of them because of how much they fought in high school like everyone thought they would of split up and have another husband and another wife but everyone is completely shocked when Nate and the reader show up married with a 3 year old son 2 year old daughter and another baby on the way maybe? @kayleigh--23
You took a deep breath. “You look fine, don’t worry.” He said, leaning down to meet your ear. “I’m not worried about looking fine.” You reassured him. “Just worried what everyone will say. We weren’t necessarily the healthiest couple in high school.” You chuckled a little.
“Therapy.” Nate shrugged. “Hurry up though.” He patted your ass a little. “We’re waiting on you. James is getting antsy and Holly’s looks ready for cake.” Nate said. “Don’t even know where she got the idea of cake from.”
You chuckled a little and finished your makeup before standing up, your 7 month bump prominent. The rumor your mother told you was true, the more you're pregnant the bigger the bumps.
———
Rue leaned against the wall, observing the passing people. Celebrating her 5th year of sobriety. She noticed Cassie and Maddie on separate sides of the room, noticing the subtle understanding between the girls as the two shared a small wave and smile. She watched Fezco in the middle of the room speaking to Lexi. He ended up returning to finish his GED thanks to Lexi’s help. For Ash he accredits his progress.
Jules stood over by the punch bowl, catching up with Elliot. An odd sight, the thought back to 5 years ago. Why a 5 year reunion? No clue. But Rue decided to go, and it was comforting to see nearly all her classmates and their children except two.
“It’s gonna be awkward when Nate and (Name) get here, huh?” Lexi asked Rue. “Definitely. There’s no way they made it past college.” Cassie followed up.
“As if.” Maddy half joked. “It’s Nate.” She crossed her arms. “You think they met in the parking lot already?” Kat asked.
“You think they’re shouting out there now?” Kat’s daughter, June, asked. A smart girl for only being 9.
You entered the room, your hand being held by James, Holly being held by Nate. Nate’s hand on the small of your back as you two entered the open doors.
“Holy shit.” Rue said. “Married.” Cassie said, leaning back against the wall.
“With kids.” Jules said, scoffing.
“Hi guys.” You said. Your kids waved hi at your old high school friends. “You guys don’t have Facebook?” Lexi asked you.
“No. We kinda deleted it when going through therapy and never thought to get it again.” Nate answered, shrugging.
“Wow. So y’all got married.” Rue said, almost astonished. She never thought Nate would marry anyone, especially not as sweet as you.
“Yea. It was after we had James and the aforementioned-therapy though.” You rubbed your stomach a little. “So what’re you having this time?” Maddy asked.
“A boy and a girl.”
“Shit man, you gon’ get snipped yet?” Fezco half joked. “Got the appointment filed and everything.” Nate said, mostly joking himself. “Well, I’m glad you two had a happy ever after.” Jules half smiled.
“Thanks Jules.” Nate nodded at her.
You looked up at Nate, smiling a little. You’ll give him his credit where it’s due. Not everyday is easy, definitely not everyday. You two still shout, and fight and cry… but he apologizes and listens this time. He books the appointments when they’re needed and even when they’re not.
You were proud of your man. He’d made it far in the 7 years you two were together.

You’ve got to be kidding me. You think to yourself as your eyes land on none other than Nathan Drake. You’d hoped this would be a job without crossing his path. But you’re just not getting a break from him.
You can’t stand Nate.
That hadn’t always been the case, though. You used to be best friends and went treasure hunting together. You and Nate had been a team until he went behind your back. You never expected to be betrayed like that.
You live, and you learn.
“Look who it is,” Nate smirks, and you can’t help but roll your eyes.
“What are you doing here? You on vacation?” You ask, even though you know he’s here for the same reason as you: He wants the treasure.
“Unfortunately, no. But I’m sure you already knew that.”
“I thought you’d given up on treasure hunting after the last one slipped right through your fingers. Again.” You cross your arms in front of your chest.
“I’m not doing it for the money, sweetheart.” You hate it when he calls you sweetheart, and he knows it. You try not to show how much it annoys you as you take a sip from your drink. You wanted to unwind at a bar before leaving for the jungle tomorrow morning. But now Nate’s here, and it’s stressing you out.
You put the glass back down on the bar and rest your elbow against the wooden surface. “Oh, really? Does your bartending gig really pay that well?”
“Someone’s been keeping an eye on me, huh?” As a matter of fact, you have. You’re not proud of it, but Nate has been a thorn in your side for years, and as much as you’d like to forget about him, you need to keep tabs on him to stay ahead of him.
“Of course, I need to make sure you’re staying away from me.”
“You sure that’s the reason?” He raises one eyebrow, and you’ve already had enough of him. It’s not even been five minutes.
“I’m sure.”
He leans in so close you can smell him. You hate to admit it, but he smells divine.
“It’s okay, sweetheart. I’ve been keeping an eye on you as well.” A shiver runs down your spine, but you try to ignore it. Nate doesn’t deserve these reactions from you. But your body doesn’t seem to care.
“When are you leaving?” You ask, and finally, he puts more distance between you.
“This bar? Why? You wanna come to my hotel room with me?” He smirks, and you ball your fists in anger.
“You know what I mean.”
He tilts his head to the side. “Bummer. We could have a lot of fun, Y/N.” He knocks on the bar, turns around and then he’s gone. Without telling you when he’s leaving.
You mutter a few curses under your breath. It would be best to leave as soon as possible, but you have to wait for your boss to give you the final clue to find the treasure before you can head to the jungle.
***
So far, it’s going smoothly. Almost too smoothly.
You’ve got the notebook containing the clues to solve the final riddle to get to the treasure, and, so far, you haven’t had any hold-ups on your journey.
Well, except for running into Nate, of course.
You’re only surrounded by the sounds of the jungle as you make your way towards the lost ruins.
Ever since what happened with Nate, you’ve been on your own. Yes, you’ve got your boss’s support, and he helps you with a lot of things, but when it gets down to actually finding the treasures, that’s all you. Sometimes you’re accompanied by other treasure hunters that work for Moncada, but that’s been the exception these last few missions. You like being on your own. Minimises the chance of being betrayed by your partner.
After fighting your way through thick foliage, you think you hear an unusual noise. You’re on high alert now. It could be your boss’s people scouting the area. But he would’ve told you about that.
Could it be?
A grunt. “Dammit.” The sound of something crashing onto the ground.
You take a careful step forward, pushing the leaves to the side, and then you see Nathan fucking Drake standing up and dusting off his hands on his cargo pants.
You gotta be kidding me. Again. Out of all the possible routes through this huge jungle, you two ended up on the same one.
You consider sneaking past him to get ahead, but there’s no way he won’t see you.
“Getting old?” You call out to him, making him jump and turn to where you’re standing.
“Y/N. What a pleasure to see you.” His voice is dripping with sarcasm as he runs his hand through his hair.
“Ditto.” You roll your eyes. “Get out of my way, old man. I have a treasure to find.” You wave your hand like he’s an annoying fly you’re trying to get rid of. He kind of is.
“Oh, yeah? I thought you’d just gone out for a stroll.”
“Funny.”
“Also, I’m not old.”
“Mhm.” You don’t pay much attention to him as you start climbing up the overhang. With a practised eye and a firm grip, you manage to climb up without any problems.
You rest your hands on your hips and look down to where Nate is still standing.
“I wish I could see your face when you get to the treasure, and it’s already gone because I took it.” You smile smugly. You’d like to think you’re the better treasure hunter, but truth be told, both of you are great at what you do and have probably found an equal amount of treasures. You’re not going to admit that to him, though. Plus, there’s the fact that every time he does find a treasure, he ends up losing it one way or another.
“What makes you so sure you’re going to get there before me? Just because you’re ahead of me now? There are still riddles to be solved, sweetheart. Don’t get too excited just yet.”
You suppress a groan at the nickname and school your features. “Well, I’ve got an advantage on you though.”
“And what’s that?” He raises one of his brows.
You reach behind you and pull the notebook from your back pocket. “This.” You watch as Nate’s jaw drops, but you don’t allow yourself to bask in it too long. You need to get a move on.
Revealing that you have the notebook was probably not a good idea, but you couldn’t help it. Nate knows how to push your buttons. And you allow it every time.
“Y/N! Wait!” He calls after you, and you can hear him start to climb again.
Of course, you’re not waiting for him. You start jogging to get some distance between you and him, but the ground is not made for that, and you have to be careful not to stumble and fall.
Suddenly, you hear shots being fired, and it causes you to freeze. You hear Nate’s loud footsteps behind you and hold up a hand to make him stop. Thankfully, he does.
“What’s going on?” He whispers as he comes to a halt behind you.
“Didn’t you hear the shots?” You ask, carefully walking forwards.
“I did. But I thought that’s just your people doing what they do best.”
“And what would that be?”
“Being useless?” He says it as if it’s obvious. You don’t think they’re useless, though. They’ve helped you keep many people off your back. Sometimes you think of them as your bodyguards.
You don’t regard him with an answer; just continue to walk forward until you can see where the shots are coming from. When you can finally see a group of people, you don’t recognise any of them.
“I’ve never seen these people before.” You murmur. You don’t want to draw attention to yourself. It’s dangerous.
A treasure worth millions of dollars is somewhere around here, and people don’t shy away from killing to get to it. You have to be careful.
“It’s probably best if we stick together.” Nate muses, and you turn to him with a raised eyebrow. This might be the first time he suggests something like that. Seems like he really needs that notebook.
“I’m just saying. Neither of us know who these people are. And there’s safety in numbers, right?”
He does have a point. Even though it would be just the two of you against a group. And you don’t know how many more people might be around. You don’t see a downside of going with Nathan for a bit. Besides him being annoying, of course. But you’ll get over that.
“Fine.” You give in. “But keep the talking to a minimum.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
***
Of course, Nate doesn’t keep the talking to a minimum. He comments on every little thing. But you ignore it as best as you can.
You’re close to the spot where you suspect the treasure to be. Only a little bit further.
“So I was thinking…” Nate says as he follows you down the stairs of one of the ruins.
“Oh no. Does your head hurt now?” You ask with mock concern.
“Funny.” You can practically hear him roll his eyes. “When we find the treasure, I’ll let you have 25%,” This makes you stop in your tracks, causing him to run into you. You turn around swiftly.
“You’re letting me have 25%? You’ve got to be kidding me. You wouldn’t even be here without me. You’re lucky if I’ll let you have even 5% of it.” You place your hands on your hips and glare at him.
He looks at you for a few seconds, then you see the corner of his mouth quirk up. And then he’s full out laughing.
“Oh, sweetheart, it’s so much fun to rile you up.”
“I hate you.” With that, you turn around and continue walking.
“Thanks for reminding me, I almost forgot.” Nate’s voice is dripping with sarcasm. “Feeling’s mutual by the way.”
You turn around to him again. “You know, I don’t think this is working out. We should go our separate ways.”
Nate laughs, “Nice try. We’re so close to finding the treasure, I’m not leaving your side.”
“Because you wouldn’t find it without me.”
“You’ve got the notebook. Of course, I wouldn’t be able to find it without you.”
***
You continue to put up with Nate until you reach the chamber the treasure is in. You get that familiar giddy feeling you always get when you’re about to reach a treasure.
With Nate’s help, you push the huge stone that’s covering the opening away. You’re the first inside the room. The ceilings are high, but the only light source is coming from your flashlights. You’re surprised how intact this building still is.
You look around the room, but nothing really stands out until your flashlight reveals a stone chest in the corner of the room.
“It must be in there.” You mutter, even though you expected there to be more gold than just a chest of it.
Nate follows you there, you open the chest and…
Nothing.
Except for a note and a curious-looking dagger.
It’s no use, the treasure was definitely not here, and you had to basically start over. You can’t make sense of the note and the dagger just yet, so you and Nate decide to go back into town and try to figure this out.
You aren’t sure why you’re still entertaining him. You should have told him to fuck off ages ago. But even though he’s annoying, it’s nice to have some company for a change.
Once back in town you inform your boss of the new development. He’s not happy but knows there’s nothing you can do about it.
A couple hours later, someone knocks on your door, and when you open it, Nate’s standing there, a bottle of wine in his hand.
“Ready to figure this out?”
You’re surprised to see him, but then again not. You have to keep in mind that he was only after the treasure; he doesn’t want to spend time with you. And you don’t want to spend time with him.
You could just tell him to leave, but what harm could a glass of wine do?
Famous last words.
Two hours and two bottles of wine later, you at least know where to go next. But you’re also a little drunk.
“Have I ever told you how much I admire you?” Nate says, his cheek resting in his palm as he looks at you. His words are just a little slurred, and the way he smiles at you is almost adorable.
“Uh, no, I don’t recall you ever saying something positive about me.” You tilt your head to the side, unsure of where this is going.
“That can’t be true.” He rests his other hand on your knee. The heat of his skin takes you aback, goosebumps rising on your arms at the contact. “We had some good times together in the past, gorgeous.”
The pet name tenfolds the reaction you just had, and you tighten your fists, afraid he’d see your hands shaking.
“Don’t call me that.” You bite at him. He used to call you gorgeous back when you were still friends. It would make your cheeks heat up every time, and you’d tell him it’s annoying, but secretly you loved it. You loved the idea of him thinking you’re gorgeous.
But not anymore. Now it just brings back bad memories. Memories of his betrayal. How can you ever believe he meant anything he said when he went behind your back in the worst way.
“Why not?” He raises one eyebrow. His hand is still on your knee, and he gives it a little squeeze.
“It’s annoying.” You should make him take his hand off your leg, but you can’t bring yourself to it. It’s been way too long since you’ve had some human contact, and your body is soaking up his warmth like it needs it to live.
Nate tilts his head. “You sure about that?” Nate’s hand slowly travels higher on your leg, and the urge to squeeze your thighs together is worrying.
You look at him and catch yourself wondering what his lips would feel like against yours. If his hair is as soft as it looks. His cheeks are tinted red, from the alcohol, you assume. His eyes twinkle in the light of your hotel room. It’s annoying how handsome he is. And it’s even more annoying how much power he still has over your body.
Without realising, you’ve leaned in closer to him.
“Nate.” You want to tell him that this is a bad idea. That you and him together is wrong on so many levels. You want to tell yourself that, too. But these past couple of hours have almost felt like it had back in the day, with you and Nate working as a team. You felt like you were about to get whiplash from all these conflicting emotions.
“Y/N.” Nate cups your face with one hand, his thumb caressing your cheekbone. “Just let it happen, gorgeous.”
That’s all it takes. You feel your resolve crumble as he leans in. The tip of his nose brushes against yours before he captures your lips.
You shift even closer to him and slide one hand into his soft hair as you reciprocate his kiss. His lips are surprisingly soft as he kisses your top lip, then your bottom lip, before moving his hand to the back of your neck. You open your lips ever so slightly and flick your tongue over his bottom lip.
You can feel him smile, and then his tongue is meeting yours, and you tighten your grip on his hair. You don’t remember ever being kissed like this.
Your surroundings seem to blur as you push all your thoughts to the back of your head and allow yourself to just feel.
You don’t know how much time passes with you and Nate kissing, but when your name falls from his lips like a prayer, it’s like someone burst a bubble in your head.
You need to get some distance from him, so you pull away. For a moment, Nate follows your movement, his lips chasing yours, but you move your head to the side.
This is still Nate, the Nate you can’t trust. A couple of hours of teamwork don’t change that. If you don’t stop this now, you don’t know how far you’ll let things go. Probably too far.
“I think you should leave.” You whisper, unable to look into his eyes.
Nate pauses for a moment, then he nods and clears his throat, “I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Okay.”
As soon as you hear the door click shut, you let yourself fall back onto the couch and groan. How could you have let this happen? Yes, you’re a little tipsy, but that’s no excuse for just letting him kiss you!
But that kiss.
You don’t think you’ve ever had a better kiss in your life. The realisation makes you groan again. Nate doesn’t have the right to be such a good kisser!
Still grumpy, you get ready for bed. You’ll deal with your feelings in the morning.
***
You wake up before your alarm, and suddenly you have an uneasy feeling. As you look at the coffee table, you see two empty wine bottles along with glasses and lots of scrap notebook paper. It’s a mess.
Just like your head because you’re still thinking about Nate’s lips on yours. (That’s nothing against last night’s dreams, though)
Still slightly frazzled, you get ready as quickly as you can. You need to get to the treasure quickly before someone else can.
When you’re almost ready to go, you decide to clean up the room a little bit. You don’t want housekeeping to see the remnants of last night.
You throw away all the notes that led to nothing last night, and as you look at the clear coffee table in front of you, it suddenly dawns on you why you had such an uneasy feeling all morning.
The dagger is gone.
You turn over every pillow on the sofa and even look underneath it. Nothing.
There’s only one explanation. Nate took it.
You let him seduce you, and he stole from you. Taking a deep breath, you keep from screaming in frustration.
You knew you shouldn’t have worked with him. It seems to always end with him betraying you.
But hey, you were supposed to meet this morning. Maybe he didn’t actually go behind your back and will be waiting for you in the lobby?
*
Of course, he isn’t waiting for you in the lobby. As a matter of fact, you find out he has already checked out.
You give the receptionist a strained smile before heading out yourself. Maybe you can still catch up with him. At least you know where to look for him.
While you’re making your way through the jungle, you’re mad at yourself for letting him trick you so easily. You know what he’s like.
This is exactly what happened the last time you worked together. You woke up one morning, and he was gone with the diary that held all the information. Luckily the guy you two had been working with at the time had caught him before he was gone too far. That way, you were still able to obtain the treasure.
But it made you realise the kind of person Nate was. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself. You thought you were best friends, but he betrayed you without blinking an eye. And now he’s done the same thing because you let your hormones control you for one evening.
Pathetic.
Suddenly, the sound of gunshots rings through the quiet jungle, and you can’t help but be worried. What if something happened to Nate?
You shouldn’t care, that’s what!
The gunshots didn’t seem to be too far from where you were, so you pick up your pace, trying to find whoever it is. Maybe not the best idea, but you’re curious.
As you break through the foliage, you notice Nate on the ground behind a rock, clutching his arm, blood seeping through his shirt. He’s been hit.
Suits him right, a small voice in your head says. You don’t want him to be seriously injured, but he deserves a little payback.
You crouch down next to him, making sure you’re not seen by the people still scouting the area.
“Y/N?” Nate seems surprised to see you.
“Shut up. I’m not in the mood to talk to you.” You hiss as you peek over the rock to see what’s going on. Just like last time, you don’t recognise most of the people, but one face is very familiar to you.
“Rafe? What is he doing here?” Rafe’s one of your closest associates. If you do work with someone on a treasure hunt, it’s with him. So why is he here but not working with you?
“He might be looking for the treasure, sweetheart.” Nate presses out as he tries to sit up.
“Didn’t I tell you to shut up?” You don’t even look at him, your eyes still trained on Rafe as you try to make out what he’s saying.
“Moncada wants the treasure ASAP.” Rafe bellows, and the name of your boss makes you freeze. If he’s working for your boss, why don’t you know about it? Did Moncada send him as support? “Y/N should be around here somewhere.” You’re about to stand up, but Nate wraps his hand around your forearm and slowly shakes his head. You look at him questioningly, but then Rafe continues, “If you find her, shoot her.”
What?
You suck in a breath. Why would Rafe want that? You’ve worked quite well as a team in the past. Why does he want you dead all of a sudden?
“Moncada promised us a good bonus if we kill her, so keep your eyes open!” Rafe claps his hands, and his men start moving, but you’re frozen in place. Nate squeezing your arm pulls you out of your stupor.
“We need to find a hiding spot,” Nate urges while trying to get up. “I managed to trick them into thinking I ran into a different direction but if we stay here they’ll find us.”
For a moment, you just stare at him. Moncada wants you dead. Your boss and, in some way, your father figure wants you to die. A billion different explanations as to why he would want that flit through your brain but none of them make sense to you.
“Y/N!” Nate hisses, and even though you maybe shouldn’t, you follow him without thinking twice about it.
You end up in a small cave hidden away by vines and other foliage. Nate lets himself fall against one of the rocks, still clutching his arm. And finally, you can get enough of a grip to ask him what happened.
“Rafe and his men suddenly showed up. At first I thought he was on his own but as you might have noticed he’s working for Moncada.”
“Why does he want me dead?” You furrow your eyebrows and see Nate shrug his shoulders with a wince.
You’re pacing back and forth in front of him, too anxious to stand still. The moment one of Rafe’s men sees you, you’re dead. It doesn’t make sense. Rafe has been one of the men protecting you on your past adventures. How is he okay with just killing you all of a sudden? You thought you could trust him. Sounds familiar.
“I don’t wanna interrupt your crisis but a little help would be nice.” You stop your pacing and turn to look at Nate.
Shirtless.
“Why is your shirt off?” It’s out of your mouth before you can stop yourself, your eyes glued to his chest. You have to admit, he’s got some muscles. Nice muscles. You watch them move under his tan skin, and you wouldn’t be surprised if you start salivating in the next three seconds.
But it doesn’t come to that because Nate starts talking, and your eyes snap up to look at his face again. “Originally to get better access to the wound, but this is a nice side effect.” He winks, causing your face to heat up. You feel like you got caught doing something you shouldn’t be doing.
Maybe because ogling Nate is a bad idea.
“Shut up.”
Nate just smirks. “Will you help me now or are you going to let me bleed out?”
“I should, with how you stole from me.” You say but walk towards him anyway. He won’t bleed out if you don’t help him, he’s exaggerating, and both of you know that. Opening your backpack, you pull out your first aid kit. It’s come in handy many times.
Both of you are quite as you prepare to take care of the wound.
“I’m sorry.” Nate finally says with a sigh. “I shouldn’t have stolen the dagger from you.”
“Somehow I don’t really buy you being sorry.” You mumble before cleaning the wound with some water. Then you apply some gel, being rougher than you need to be.
“Ouch! Be careful!” Nate complains, but you have no intention of being soft with him. “I really am sorry!” Nate insists, then he lets out a groan of pain, and maybe you are just a little bit softer with him.
You reach for a bandage, and Nate visibly tenses when you get closer to him.
“I’ll be gentle.” You reassure him. “If you explain.”
“Why I did it?” He raises one eyebrow.
“That much is obvious. Why you’re sorry all of a sudden. You didn’t bat an eye at stealing from me in the past.”
“I’ve realised some stuff.” Nate lets out a breath while you gently wrap the bandage over his arm. You can’t help but notice how well defined his biceps are. Focus!
“And what did you realise?”
Nate takes his time before he answers. You’re tying up the bandage when he finally speaks up.
“That being angry with you all my life won’t do me any favours.” He clears his throat. “Yeah you broke my trust when you just left me for dead on our last mission together but–”
“I didn’t!” You can’t believe what he’s saying. “You were about to take off alone with the diary. You stole from me just like you did last night! You’re a thief Nate. And I thought you would at least have some respect for your friends, or even just your best friend at the time.” You point at yourself. “But you didn’t. You stole from me like I was some random person you couldn’t give two shits about.”
Nate looks to the side with a sneer. “So fucking stupid.”
“Excuse me? Did you just call me stupid?”
“And what if I did? What are you going to do about it?”
“I’m so sick of your fucking games, Nate. When this is over I don’t ever wanna see you again.”
“And I’m sick of your higher than thou attitude! As if you’re better than me! You’re just some lonely girl finding treasures to get the praise she so desperately needs. I bet you run back to Moncada every time you find a treasure, wagging your tail, presenting it to him like a good little puppy!”
“Shut up! You have no idea what you’re talking about!”
“You shut up, or I’ll make you shut up.” His voice is menacing, but you’re not scared. The air between you both is charged, and as much as you know you should take a step back, you don’t. You’re standing so close that the fabric of your shirt is brushing against his skin, and you can feel his body heat radiating off of him.
“I’d like to see you try.”
Nate doesn’t answer, not verbally. But in the next moment, one of his hands is on the back of your neck and his lips on yours. You let out a surprised whimper. You weren’t expecting him to kiss you. Not again. And not when he had nothing to take from you.
You don’t think as you fist your hands in his hair and pull him closer. You don’t think as you open your mouth and deepen the kiss. And you definitely don’t think as you let him lead you backwards until your back makes contact with the wall.
You wrap one of your legs around his hip, his hand immediately there to steady you. You’re still feverishly kissing as you feel his hips rut into yours, causing you to moan.
“You’re so fucking aggravating.” You manage to say between kisses, and you think you hear Nate growl. You can’t ignore the tingling in your lower belly any longer, even though you’re almost ashamed that, of all people, Nate is the one to draw this kind of reaction from you. Almost.
“Try being in your company for a day, you’ll know who’s the aggravation one then.”
“I hate you.”
“You sure about that? Doesn’t seem like you hate me right now. The way you’re rubbing yourself on me.”
Now you’re the one growling.
“I bet if I’d put my hand in your panties you’d be dripping for me.”
You pull a face at his words. It’s not that he’s wrong, but it’s annoying that he knows what he’s doing to you.
You decide to challenge him, though.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that.” You say, leaning your head back against the stone wall so you can look at him. His eyes are hooded, his lips slightly swollen from your kisses.
“Wanna bet?” He raises one eyebrow, and you mirror his expression. You know you shouldn’t underestimate Nate, but you wanna know how far you can push him. “Let’s see then.” He says before starting to unbutton your pants.
He’s really doing it.
Your heart feels like it’s about to jump out of your throat it’s beating that fast. Your breathing quickens in anticipation.
And then he’s running his fingers through your folds.
“You’re so fucking wet for me Y/N. Try to deny it all you want, you’re dying to have me cock inside you.”
You moan at the sensation of being touched by him, but you don’t want to have him get the upper hand. “So are you going to do anything about it, or are you one of those guys who’re all talk and can’t even find the–“You can’t even finish the sentence before his thumb is on your clit, drawing tight circles.
“What was that about being one of those guys?”
You wanna curse at him, but now he’s pushed two fingers into your cunt, and you’re unable to form proper words.
“What was that?” He’s smirking. He knows your putty in his hands now, the way you’re holding on to him. The way you’re pushing your hips into his hand, craving more.
You start to repeat what you were going to say, but then his fingertips brush against a particularly sensitive spot inside you, and all you can do is moan.
“That’s what I thought. He chuckles softly. “Had I known this is how I get you to shut up, I would’ve done it a long time ago.”
You pull on his hair with a moan, but he just laughs. “Just like that, gorgeous. Let me hear you.” He tightens his grip on your thigh and picks up his pace. You’re a moaning mess, but at this point, you don’t care.
You don’t care that you’re supposed to hate him.
You don’t care that he’s the last person you should be attracted to.
You don’t care that he seems to be enjoying the way you’re unable to talk back.
Because he’s making you feel so fucking good.
“I know you want my cock, baby, but you’re not getting it.” You pull on his hair again in protest. “Not until we find the treasure.”
“Fuck you.” You manage to say, but Nate just chuckles. You don’t know what could possibly be funny about this.
He hums as he leans in to place soft kisses on your neck. “This isn’t easy for me.” He whispers in your ear, making shivers run down your spine. Your pussy tightens around his fingers, and you’re certain you can feel him smile. “I’m so fucking hard you have no idea. It’s taken a lot of control to not just bend you over and fuck you stupid. Until you’re so fucked out you can barely walk. But we’ve got a treasure to find, gorgeous.”
And then he leans back and just looks into your eyes as he keeps fingering you, his thumb playing with your clit. You’re unable to look away as his pace slows down and something seems to shift in the air. You’re drowning in his eyes. You’ve always loved his eyes. Cherished every moment you got to see them up close. But you’ve never been this close.
“You’re so fucking beautiful, Y/N.” Nate almost pants. He nudges the tip of his nose against yours before he plants a kiss on your lips. Just one simple peck. One might even say an innocent kiss if it wasn’t for his fingers that were still moving in and out of your dripping cunt. “Bet you’re even prettier when you cum. You gonna show me?” He asks with another kiss and picks up his pace. Just a little, but it’s exactly what you need.
“Yes, fuck, right there.”
“You gonna be a good girl and cum for me?” His words are barely above a whisper, but that’s all it takes to push you over the edge.
Your mouth falls open as your orgasm washes over you, and if possible, you pull yourself even closer to Nate.
“That’s it.” He hums, his eyes moving over your face. “So fucking gorgeous.”
Nate keeps praising you as you come down from your high, his forehead resting against yours. When your breathing is almost back to normal, he starts neatly putting your panties back in place.
“You’re wrong.” He murmurs, his nose brushing against yours as he pulls up your pants. Normally, you’d feel belittled if a guy was doing this. Or at least you’d feel used as if he’d want to get you dressed as quickly as possible so you could leave. But with Nate… It feels like an intimate moment, and you have no clue why.
“What are you talking about?” Your hands are still in his hair; you can’t seem to let go of him. You should push him away, tell him you can dress yourself, thank you very much. But you don’t.
“I would’ve never stolen from you.” He zips and buttons your pants before looking at you. You don’t know how he can just pick the conversation back up after what just happened. But oh well, if he wants to keep arguing, so be it.
You tilt your head to the side. He has to realise how ridiculous that sounds just hours after he did, in fact, steal from you.
“Back then.” He clarifies. “I trusted you with my life.” He looks at you intently, his hands now on your hips. “I cared so much about you.” He pauses and closes his eyes for a few seconds. “I still do. Despite everything that happened between us, I care so fucking much about you. Rafe knew that, and he used it against me. He kept telling me how he’s gonna make sure you’ll be okay. You’ll be taken care of. ‘Don’t worry, Nate. I’m gonna make sure you and your girl get a decent chunk of the money.’ He said. But Rafe had spent months planting doubts in your head. I didn’t realise it back then, but in the final months of us working together, you started becoming more and more distant. You would go to him with new clues first.
“At first I didn’t think anything of it. I thought you did it because he’s the more experienced treasure hunter. But then you started keeping things from me. I felt like you were going behind my back, that you didn’t want to work with me anymore. And then one day Rafe sent me to scout the area and when I came back both of you were gone.”
It’s hard to wrap your head around everything Nate is telling you. And maybe you should be a little more careful because you can’t be a hundred per cent sure that Nate is telling the truth. But your gut is telling you that he is. At some point during the past 24 hours, you realised that Nate isn’t the egoistic asshole that you thought he was.
Yeah, okay, he stole the dagger from you, but wouldn’t you have done the same in his position? Probably.
You watch him for a moment. He’s got no reason to lie to you. He’s the one with the dagger. He could’ve just run off with it. He doesn’t need your help. But yet he asked for it. And even more importantly, he saved your life earlier. If it wasn’t for him, you would’ve run straight to Rafe when you saw him. And you’d be dead.
 If he had told you all of this last night, you wouldn’t have believed him. But now? You believe him.
It makes sense. Now that you’ve seen Rafe’s true self, you can see him manipulating you. Doing everything to get you and Nate to split up. Nate hadn’t been the biggest fan of Rafe. Or even Moncada. He didn’t like the idea of just finding the treasure for someone else. But Rafe told you time and time again that Moncada would reimburse you more than enough. And ever since you started working for him, he kept his word. But back then, you and Nate had argued more than once if working for him and with Rafe was a good idea. But Nate always agreed because you trusted Rafe. And Rafe got you to trust him more than your best friend. The realisation feels like a punch in the gut.
“So you’re saying that you didn’t try to steal from us? That Rafe made that up?” You feel stupid because it all makes sense. Why didn’t you realise it sooner? Why did you let yourself be manipulated by Rafe?
“He played us.” Nate nods. “For whatever reason he wanted to get rid of me and turn us against each other.”
“So all these years… I hated you for no reason?” You feel guilty as you say this. Thinking back to all the things you said to him. All the length you went to beat him, to be the better treasure hunter when you could’ve worked as a team this whole time.
“Hey, don’t feel bad. I hated you, too.” Nate smiles at you, but you can see that he, too, feels the guilt.
“Can I…” You start, and his eyes focus on yours. “Can I give you a hug or something?” You ask, not sure how to deal with all of this. Asking for a hug is probably the weirdest thing, considering his fingers had been inside you not too long ago, and your hands were still resting at the nape of his neck.
Nate lets out a laugh but wraps his arms around your waist. “You’re so weird.”
You tug on a strand of his hair which makes him laugh even more, but then he’s holding you tightly, and you can feel his warm skin everywhere.
“I’m sorry.” You say after a while. “I shouldn’t have allowed Rafe to turn me against you. I don’t even know how he managed to do that. You’re the person I trusted the most.”
“Don’t worry about it Y/N. He’s a conniving, manipulative son of a bitch. And you were impressionable. We both were.” He shrugs his shoulders. “He wanted me gone. And he knew how much I cared about you and used that against me. There’s nothing we can do about it now.”
“Actually, there is.”
***
Your plan is to simply find the treasure and be gone before Rafe gets there. Now that you’re working with Nate again, you know you can do it. There was a reason Rafe wanted to split the two of you apart. You were too good together.
And now that the air between you has sort of been cleared, Nate isn’t even that annoying anymore. Sure, he’s still a little shit. But instead of it slowly driving you up the wall, you almost find it charming.
“So now that we’re on good terms again, does that mean we’re going to split the treasure accordingly? 75% for me and 25% for you?” Nate asks as he follows you along one of the tunnels that will hopefully lead you to the treasure. You know he’s got a smirk on his face without having to turn around.
As a reply, you just flip him off.
Finally, you reach a heavy stone door that, according to all the clues you have, should be the only thing between you and the treasure right now.
You turn around to Nate and motion for him to step forward. “Go ahead,” The dagger needs to be inserted into the keyhole in the centre of the door.
“I’m honestly surprised you haven’t attempted to steal it back from me.” Nate muses as he steps closer to the door while rummaging through his backpack.
You can’t help but smirk.
“Funny you say that.” With that, you pull the dagger from your own backpack and wave it in front of his face. You took it from him back in the cave while tending to his wound.
“Are you serious?” He gapes at you, making you laugh.
“Just because we had a little heart to heart doesn’t mean I completely trust you again.” You shrug your shoulders before walking to the door and inserting the key.
“That’s fair,” Nate mumbles while you turn the key. It isn’t easy, but you manage to do it, and with a loud clacking noise, the ancient mechanism starts working. Dust and dirt fall to the ground as the door slowly moves out of the way.
You take a tentative step forward. This could very well be just another trap. But you’ve done this for long enough to know that it’s not. This is the real deal. You open the chest closest to you, and there it is. The treasure. And there’s not just one chest. There’s dozens of them.
You turn around to Nate with the biggest smile. “We did it!”
Nate mirrors your smile. “I guess we did.”
And there’s still no sight of Rafe and his men. You’re over the moon. All the tension leaves your body, and all you can feel is pure joy.
Giddy, you throw your arms around Nate’s neck. He stumbles back a bit, not expecting your outburst, but then he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you closer.
You don’t remember the last time you got to celebrate finding a treasure with someone else. And because this feels like a special sort of victory, you’re even more excited. And before you know what you’re doing, you’re pulling Nate close to plant a kiss on his lips. You can feel him smile against you, his hands moving to cup your ass and all the excitement you’re feeling suddenly turns into lust. The kiss turns heated as you open your lips.
“I think there’s something you wanted to give me when we find the treasure.” You raise an eyebrow at him before moving one of your hands to where his cock is already straining against his pants.
“If you’re not careful I’ll bend you over right here and now.” He grumbles, his eyes dark.
“I dare you.” You smile at him wickedly. “But make it quick, we don’t have much time before Rafe shows up.”
You don’t have to tell him twice. With one quick movement, he whirls you around and bends you over one of the large treasure chests. Wetness pools between your legs. You never thought you’d be fucking on a treasure, but it’s exciting as fuck.
Nate’s impatient, trying to pull down your pants without even opening them. It’s not working, so you quickly fumble with the button. Before you can get to the zipper, it opens itself as Nate finally pulls down your pants.
“Been thinking about this all fucking day.” He says as he struggles with his own pants. “Look at you. So fucking gorgeous bent over for me.” You look back at him just as he pulls out his cock, and you can’t help but moan. He’s hard, precum already dripping from the tip.
“Hold on tight, baby.” He says and steps closer to you. You try and find something to hold on to, finally reaching for the edge of the treasure chest, digging your fingers into the sturdy material. You push your ass in the air, impatiently waiting for the moment he’ll finally fill you up.
Nate places one of his hands on your hip, and you’re tingling with anticipation. “You wore these just for me? You expected to get laid in the jungle?” He asks as he slips one of his fingers under the edge of your underwear. It’s one of the prettier pairs you own, not the functional ones you’d usually wear on a trip like this. But you wanted to feel sexy and confident, who can blame you?
“I’m wearing these for me,” you say with a certain edge to your voice. You want him to stop talking.
“Sure you are, sweetheart.” Then you feel your panties digging into your skin for a second before a cracking sound fills the air, and the pressure is gone.
“Better.” You hear Nate murmur, and your mouth falls open in shock.
“Did you just rip my underwear?”
“Oops.”
“You son of a–“
You don’t get to finish your sentence because the next thing you know, he gently kicks the inside of your foot, causing you to spread your legs further before pushing into you, stretching you out, and you can’t do anything but tilt your hips to give him better access.
“Looks like someone loses the ability to speak once their cunt is filled.” Nate leans over you, his lips brushing against the shell of your ear. You reach back with one of your hands, grabbing a fistful of his hair like you’ve down before, not tugging on it, but just holding onto him, keeping him close.
“You feel so fucking good, gorgeous.” He starts thrusting, and now you are tugging on his hair. “I love it when you pull my hair.” He says, then places a kiss right under your ear. One of his hands is holding onto your hip tightly, the other resting on the treasure chest next to you.
His thrusts are slow and deliberate, and as much as you love this, you don’t have all day.
“Faster, Nate. Give it to me.”
Nate grunts at your words, but then he picks up the pace, fucking into you like there’s no tomorrow, and somehow he manages to brush against your g-spot every time. Your whole body is wound uptight, your hips slamming against the treasure chest with every forceful thrust, and you know you’re gonna have bruises tomorrow, but you don’t give a fuck.
“I’m so fucking close.” Nate presses out, his thrusts growing more erratic.
“Cum for me.” You tug on his hair. “Fill me up, Nate.”
“Fuck!” He rights himself, both his hands now on your hips, and if possible, he fucks even deeper into you, and suddenly, without warning, you’re coming undone.
Your walls tighten around him as a guttural moan leaves your lips, and then you feel him cum inside you.
He keeps thrusting lethargically until he’s completely spent, then he slowly pulls out.
You feel your combined juices dripping out of you, and even though your mind is still clouded from that intense orgasm, you reach between your legs to not ruin your pants. He’s already destroyed your panties, and as hot as that was, you still have to make your way back to the city.
“Can you hand me a tissue or something?” You ask, your breathing still heavy.
“Ah, shit, wait. Take this for now.” He hands you something, and you can’t fight the urge to roll your eyes.
“Are these my panties?”
You hear Nate chuckle before his hand covers yours, his other arm wrapping around your waist to pull you into a standing position, holding you against his chest.
“I’m sorry I ripped them.”
“Are you really?” You lean to the side and look back at him with a raised brow, the smirk on his face is all you need to know. “That’s what I thought.”
He helps you clean up before calling Sully to organise the relocation of the treasure.

When you’re finally back in the city, knowing you beat Rafe to the treasure, you feel like you’re on top of the world.
You know he still wants you dead, that you have to be careful. But you’ve got Nate and Sully (who was sceptical at first but agreed to give you a chance) protecting you. Perhaps you should take a break from treasure hunting for a while. It would be the smart thing to do, get off of Rafe and Moncada’s radar. But you know when the next opportunity to find a treasure comes along, you won’t hesitate to go after it.
You don’t know where you and Nate are headed, what the things that happened between you mean. But you know you’ll figure it out.

there was a time when sneaking around was fun, exciting. when their worlds revolved only around each other and the only worry in their minds was keeping their relationship a secret.
their friend group was a close knit one, they knew each other since they were kids and had grown up together, and when they’d reached the age of first boyfriends, girlfriends, and other partners, they’d all made a pact to never date someone from the group.
the fact that it was forbidden only made things more interesting for them.
what fools they’d been, hoping for a forever at such a young age, thinking their love would be eternal and nothing could ever come between them.
they thought they were in the clear, for so long their friends were unaware of the relationship between the two of them, they would reach an age where they would never care that they’d been hiding the truth for so many years.
six years together was enough to know they’d never feel a love like theirs.
but he was a passionate person, and whilst she loved when that passion was directed to her, on other occasions it felt as if she were the second option. the other thing to occupy his mind when he got tired of racing.
teenage daydreams turned into nightmares. their young age meant they felt everything. and everything was intense and fiery and red.
how ironic it was, that the color that had best described their secret relationship turned into a color that would chase him around wherever he went. that right when his career seemed to go the up, when his future looked gold, his personal life had hit an all time low, when the scarlet fire that burned between them had turned into ashes.
she always knew he was destined for greatness. and he was so determined and focused and so in love with racing that it was only natural, only obvious that he’d climb his way to the top teams of his sport in a short time. his talent was one that she’d neverseen in anyone, and he loved showing it off, not in a braggy way, but he knew what he was capable of, and he wasn’t afraid to show it, he saw no reason to hide it.
age 18.
“slow down!” she yelled as she laughed, holding onto the side of the car door. all the windows were down, as was the top, they were finally putting to good use charles’ convertible car.
“don’t listen to her, charles, speed up!” one of their friends, nate, added from the back of the car. the five of them were celebrating charles’ birthday, he was the first in their group to turn 18 and he’d just gotten his driver’s license, finally free to drive around wherever he wanted.
charles laughed, speeding a little before settling for a constant speed that wasn’t too fast or too slow.
“it’s a great thing your parents gave you a car, now we have a personal chauffeur,” she said, throwing a teasing smile his way. they were seating in the front, with their three friends in the back, but somehow it felt as if they were the only ones there.
“no, none of that. you have to learn how to drive, too, otherwise what are you going to do when i’m gone?”
“go with you, duh,” she rolled her eyes.
“hey, that is true, because at least we all know how to drive, we’re ready. but you don’t… why don’t you?” another one of their friends, elise, asked.
“i don’t know,” she shrugged, “i’ve never had the need to. and to be honest, i don’t know how good of a driver i’ll be if i ever sit behind the wheel.” she admitted.
“yeah, we’ve all seen you play mario kart, you always seem to find the wall.” charles laughed, making her hit his shoulder with a fist.
“shut up. keep that up and i won’t learn how to drive just to spite you.”
they laughed, enjoying the moment of freedom, just the five of them, five friends since birth, friends til death. five friends, two lovers.
-
it had been years since the five of them were all back home for the holidays, sometimes either only one of them was gone, or they were all away, but after three years, they were all back home at the same time. and that was something to be celebrated. they’d all seen each other throughout the years, but never the five of them at once.
charles arrived first, the christmas dinner was taking place at elise’s apartment, she’d just moved into her new place, so this worked both as a reunion and a housewarming. he’d decided to walk there, since it was on the same street as his building. he took the elevator and knocked on the door, he heard shuffling of feet approach and wrapped his fingers a little tighter around the neck of the wine bottle he’d bought.
“hey, charles, i wasn’t expecting anyone to be punctual,” elise laughed, moving aside to let him in.
“i’m the first one here?” he asked, raising the bottle, “this is for you, by the way. congrats on the new place,” he smiled.
“thank you! welcome, make yourself at home, but do take your shoes off because that white rug is new,” she smiled, walking to the kitchen, “and yeah, but nate called like two minutres ago, he and marie are on their way.”
“oh, and…” he didn’t finish, and it was finally hitting him that he’d be seeing her again.
“(y/n) is going to be a bit late, she had to go to the museum in nice so she’s probably going to be stuck in a little bit of traffic,”
“she’s- she didn’t take the train?” he asked.
“no, she drove there.”
“she drives?” he asked, sounding completely surprised by that. she was always so apprehensive whenever that topic arose in conversation.
“yeah! you didn’t know? she’s… you remember how we always used to joke around with her always crashing once she learned how to drive?” charles nodded, prompting her to continue,  “she actually aced her driving test, both the technical and the written tests.”
“oh, i… i didn’t know that,”
“what happened with you two? you used to be inseperable. like, yeah, all five of us were close, but it was always charles and (y/n), and then us.”
“i- i’m not sure. i guess… distance and responsibilities was just a lot for our friendship.”
“well maybe you can rekindle that friendship now. it’ll do you both good.”
“yeah,” charles said, and right then the doorbell rang.
he felt like he needed some peace and quiet to think, but with his two friends arriving just then, that seemed impossible to get.
if he was honest, he hadn’t given himself much time to think about her. at first, of course, she was the only thing in his mind, they’d spent six years together, and he couldn’t believe how it was all slipping from his fingers so easily.
age 21.
she sighed as she heard the automatic voicemail message, she had been trying to call charles for the past five minutes and all she was met with was his pre-recorded message.
“charles, you better pick up this damn phone. i can’t believe you, how could you miss this? i asked you time and time again, even moved this three times for you. and where are you? not here. i- i don’t know if i can keep doing this. you always promise that i’m your priority, but that’s just not true. if you don’t want to be with me then just say it, i’m a big girl and i can handle it. but i don’t deserve this. i don’t deserve to be someone’s second choice. and i know that your career is important, trust me i know that better than anyone. all i asked of you was one night, one night for you to actually be there for me. you know what? forget it, don’t even bother coming. not to the museum, or to my apartment. and don’t worry about me, i’ll find my way home. i don’t need you to drive me around anymore.”
she hung up, staring out to the city of nice. it was the opening of a new exhibit in the museum of modern and contemporary art, an exhibit that she’d been a big part of, probably her proudest achievement, considering she was still a student in university. everyone was there for her. her parents, friends, classmates and workers from the museum. well, almost everyone.
charles hadn’t replied since earlier that morning. he didn’t wish her good luck, or even acknowledged the opening of the exhibit. he just said ‘see you tonight’. and that was it. he was in italy, had been for the past week. ever since the announcement that he was making the switch from sauber to ferrari she’d been seeing him even less than when he started racing in f1. she understood, of course, that there were certain responsibilities that came when being a ferrari driver. she knew that, she was his biggest supporter, but she wished that he was as passionate about her achievements as she was of his. or even acknowledge them and congratulate her.
many times she’d told herself that she was being selfish, of course things were going to change once charles made it to the big leagues, but things were changing too fast. he spent more time away from home than with her, and when he was home he was practicing on his simulator, or preparing for an interview, a ferrari event.
this was the last straw. it was a long time coming, and him not showing up, not even bothering to text back, this was enough.
she walked back inside, but stumbled into a waiter passing by, causing him to drop his tray on top of her. her dress now sported a wine-colored stain right in the middle. it was a dress charles had gifted her on one of their anniversaries. it was poetic, how the dress was now ruined, as was their relationship. she ran to the coat room, wrapping her black coat around her. she wasn’t going to let anything else ruin this night.
the next morning, she signed up for driving lessons.
two weeks later, she was getting perfect marks on both tests.
she once said she wouldn’t learn to drive just to spite him, but this was better. to show him that she didn’t need him anymore.
-
the four friends were having a nice time, drinking wine and eating chips and other snacks as dinner was cooking.
“elise, i swear, next time we’re hanging out at my place because finding a parking spot is impossible around here,” a new voice said, walking in through the front door.
there she was.
wearing a tan, long coat, a briefcase-style bag hanging from her shoulder, all black turtleneck sweater, leggings and boots on. makeup done to perfection, a deep shade of red on her lips.
“hello everyone,” she smiled, tossing her bag on the floor and walking to the dining area. “what did i miss?” she asked, and everyone started filling her in on their previous conversation topics.
she hadn’t even glanced at him. not once.
charles didn’t even know if she knew he was coming, if he was there at all.
-
it wasn’t until later, when everyone’s cheeks were flushed from the wine, when the leftover food was growing cold in the forgotten plates, and they were all sitting around the living room, sharing stories and memories of years’ past, that they talked to each other.
“... and the museum is doing a really cool charity event in late january, so that’s where all of our focus is right now,” she finished catching everyone up to speed about her job in the museum. ever since college that place had become her home. “you’re all invited, of course, we need all the help we can get.”
“when is it?” charles asked, he couldn’t deny the fact that he was impressed by everything she was handling in the museum, she did a little bit of everything, but those little bits eventually turned into big, great things. he was impressed, however, not surprised. he always knew she could do it, she’d fallen in love with art in her teenage years, the first time they visited a contemporary museum. they’d gone together, of course, and charles couldn’t forget the way her eyes widened, the way she clearly understood what the artist wanted to say, it was love at first sight.
“the 21st,” she turned to him. charles had expected a reaction from her, but she looked at him like he was just her friend.
“we’ll be there,” nate said.
“you’re not busy, superstar?” marie joked, looking at charles.
“i don’t think so. and if i am i’ll just move whatever to a different day.”
“you don’t have to do that,” she said, and this time charles caught something. her voice sounded a little harsher.
“i want to, we haven’t seen each other in so long, and you’ve done a lot for me, it’s only fair that i return the favor,” he smiled, wanting to get something more out of her, he got nothing, only a nod.
-
age 19.
“come on, you’ve been, quite possibly, the best person i ever could’ve asked for. it’s only fair i return the favor.” charles said, keeping his hand over her eyes as he led her to the surprise he’d prepared for her.
“you know i don’t need anything,” she chuckled, and he could feel her smile, the apples of her cheeks rising.
“well, this is more something for me, but it’s going to be good for you, eventually,”
“what do you mean?” she asked, still up for whatever he was planning. he removed his hand from her eyes. “what-”
“it’s your very own private driving lesson,” charles explained, making her laugh.
“charles, i don’t need to learn how to drive,”
“of course you do! you have to at least know the basics,”
“gas, brake, turn to the right, turn to the left, lights… i think i got it.”
“come on,” he chuckled, wrapping his arms around her, “why don’t you want to learn?”
“i don’t know. i guess… i enjoy having you to drive me around, i like singing in the car with you, with the wind blowing in my hair, or just sitting in silence and watching the landscapes outside. i like doing that with you. plus… i’m afraid of having control of a car, because what if i lose control? what if the brakes fail, or someone crashes into me… it’s a lot to think about all the time. i think i’m just not made for driving.”
“well, lucky for you i was made for driving, and i like having you as my co-pilot, there’s no one else i’d rather have by my side.”
-
“it’s gifts time!” nate said loudly. “i’ll start,” he declared, standing up and picking a bag off the floor. “for you,” he started, handing a white envelope to (y/n), “and you,” he said, giving charles a small box, “and you,” he gave elise a wrapped gift that resembled a mug in shape, “and finally, you,” he said, giving marie a thin, long box.
they all opened theirs, marie got a hand-made friendship bracelet. elise got a new mug, charles got a pair of boxers with lightning mcqueen all over them, and (y/n) got a ticket to an exhibit in a parisian museum.
elise was next, then marie. as marie sat down, after handing everyone their gifts, charles pulled out his phone, sending a few pdf files to their groupchat.
“merry christmas, guys.” he said as all their phones rang. they all opened the files, each named after one of them, they were confirmations to a hotel booking, as well as a scanned picture of what would be their vip passes for the italian grand prix in monza.
“charles!”
“no way!”
“italia, mio home, here i come,” nate said, pinching his fingers together.
she gave him a small smile, muttering a ‘thanks’ as she stood up.
“well, now i wish i hadn’t been last, nothing can top that off,” she said, “but i hope you all like these. merry christmas, i hope we get to spend many more years as friends, and more evenings like this.” she said, handing them all their gifts and sitting down to watch their expressions. she loved giving gifts.
nate received a new gaming headset, eloise got a tea set, marie got a sweater, and charles got a replica of an f1 car, he inspected it closely.
“it’s made out of carrara marble,” she explained.
“wow, it’s… beautiful, thank you.”
“you’re welcome, i’ve… nevermind,” she said, charles was about to ask her what she wanted to say but was interrupted with nate announcing he was leaving. marie left with him, and not long after she was saying her goodbyes too.
“i guess that’s my cue to leave, too.”
“i didn’t see your car,” she said, she would’ve remembered seeing his car parked somewhere.
“i walked here, i didn’t see the point in driving,”
“huh,” she said, grabbing her bag and hanging it from her shoulder. charles frowned as she walked to elise, hugging her. “well, i’ll give you a lift if you want.”
yes, yes, yes, please. yes. go with her.
everything inside of him lit up at her offer, part of him couldn’t believe she was even offering in the first place. he said goodbye to elise quickly, rushing after her.
“wait up,” he said, jogging to catch up.
they didn’t speak as the elevator went down, she could feel his eyes on her, shifting away to try and be subtle. as they exited the building he had to follow her, he didn’t even know what car she drove.
“you’re shitting me,” he said, looking at the silver logo in front of the car.
“what? not all of us can afford a ferrari,” she said, “what? you can’t be seen inside a mercedes?” she smirked. out of instinct, charles walked to the driver’s side, but stopped in his tracks as she unlocked the door and watched him standing there. “i know this is usually your side, but you’re a passenger for these next minutes,”
charles was left speechless as he walked to the passenger side, it felt so foreign. especially when she was the one behind the wheel. he closed the door as he got in, and waited for her to turn on the car. he turned to her when she didn’t.
“seatbelt,” she reminded him.
charles couldn’t stop the small chuckle that left his lips.
“you’re a really responsible driver,” he said.
“of course i am. no one knows what might happen.”
“i- i have to say, it’s really weird seeing you like this,”
“i know. but… turns out i’m a damn great driver. it helps me relax, and it’s… thrilling, to work in sync with the right machine to get from point a to point b…”
“now you get what i feel with my cars.”
“i always got that,” she clarified. “i always knew how important driving is to you. it just hurt to know that it was more important than me.”
“it wasn’t- it-”
“oh, please,” she chuckled humorlessly, turning on the car, she checked the mirrors before leaving the parked space. “i’ve made my peace with that a long time ago, it’s okay to admit it. i’m but hurt. not anymore.”
“but it wasn’t i-”
“listen, i don’t… i don’t want to discuss this, racing was your number one priority and that’s completely fine, i get it. it’s normal to get so caught up in it that you forget about everything else. i’m sure i used to do that too, with the museum and all,”
“you did, but not like i did. and i… i’m sorry, for… making you feel like that.”
“like i said, i made my peace with that long ago, i don’t need an apology.”
“well, i still feel like i owe you one.”
“it’s fine, you don’t have to feel guilty. we were young, dumb, still feeling like we were teenagers, pretending to even know what future was like. we were each other’s first love, it’s normal to still have feelings.”
“do you?”
“what?”
“have feelings? for me?”
“i feel a lot of things, charles, and six years, plus so many more as friends, are not easy to forget. it would’ve been nice, you know.”
“what?”
“if you would’ve been the one. it’s a story just straight from a movie. do you think-” she cut herself off.
“what?” charles asked, and he remembered the other thought she’d stopped herself from saying out loud back at elise’s.
“do you think that… if one thing had been different… everything would be different? today? now?”
charles stayed quiet, thinking about every little thing he would’ve done differently.
“maybe. yeah.”
“yeah,” she repeated.
she’d been driving around in circles, they’d reached charles’ building about five minutes ago, but she hadn’t stopped driving. she kept doing the same four turns over and over again.
“what were you going to say… when you gave me the car?” he asked.
“oh, that. it’s… nothing, really. just… that i’ve had that for a long time.”
“since we…”
“it was going to be your birthday present.”
“and you never threw that away.”
“it’s made from the same material as ‘david’, i wasn’t just going to throw that away. or give it to someone who wouldn’t cherish it.”
“well… thank you. and congratulations on being a great driver, though… i don’t think the cameras will agree after seeing you pass here for the seventh time,” he said as she was making a right turn.
“thanks. and i guess… i have to thank you, too. if we… if we’d never broken up i… i never would’ve become me.”
“that… hurt,” he admitted. “but i get it. i should also thank you. you… did so much for me, gave up so much that i… i guess i took you for granted. and it only took having you away from me to really know how much you did for me without me even noticing. so… thank you. and i like this new you. you seem… happy.”
“i am. but still… i can’t shake the feeling that i’m missing something.”
“what?”
“you. even though you made me grow up, i still feel like i need to have my teenage side, and… there’s so much i want to do, but new me is responsible, she’s proper, she’s professional. and sometimes, i get tired of all of it. you always made me feel like a kid, in the best way possible, you made me feel like everything was possible, that it’s okay to let loose and have an adventurous side. i need that, i miss that.”
“well, i’m staying here all month. and i’m more than happy to help you rediscover your wild side.”
“don’t say it like that,” she laughed.
“no, no, i didn’t mean it like that, but-” he chuckled, “i guess that offer stands, too.”
“not happening. not now, at least.”
“so there’s a chance?”
“i don’t know. we’ll have to see.”
“i know. here’s adventure number one: drive to the harbor.”
“the- why?” she asked, driving there, anyway.
“we’re about to take a midnight stroll,” he explained.
“okay, but…  why the harbor?”
“it’s not your typical stroll, we’re not the ones doing the walking.”
“then?”
“have you ever seen ‘sedici’?” he asked.
“what’s that?”
“my yacht.”
“a midnight boat ride?” she asked, a smile on her face.
“what do you say?”
“you better be a damn good captain as i am a driver,”
“you’d be surprised.”
“i’m ready to be surprised.”

Can you write one of Jamie showing up to training sick and the team has to convince him to go home? Then someone takes him home (I want it to be Roy even though Roy probably shouldn't leave training when he's in charge for Roy/Jamie shipping reasons, but all the lads wanting to care of him would also be nice)
Who needs realism when we can have fluff? I went a bit off script but I hope you still enjoy it.
Thank you for the prompt!
(Prompt Fill Masterpost)
Isaac was generally the first player to arrive for training at Nelson Road. He tried to set a good example, being captain and all that.
Jamie, despite living closer to the grounds than most, usually strolled in with less than 10 minutes left to get changed and out on the field.
It used to annoy members of the team, Isaac included. These days, he knew that Jamie and Roy had extra early workout sessions together and that Jamie was just genuinely awful at managing his time in the mornings. It was fine - he never held anyone else up.
But it was therefore extremely surprising to find him in the locker room a full hour before training was due to start, dressed to play and slumped halfway into his cubby.
“Alright, bruv?” Isaac gave him a cautious nod and dropped his stuff at his section of the bench. “What are you doing here?”
Jamie was slow to answer, blinking bleary eyes at Isaac and apparently needing a minute to take in the question.
He sniffed. “... training, innit?”
“Yeah…” Isaac affirmed, frowning at his rough voice and general dishevelled state. “Don’t normally see you this early, though.”
Jamie hummed and nodded like that was a fair observation.
“Couldn’t sleep.”
Well, that probably went some way to explaining the state of him. There were dark smudges under Jamie’s eyes and his hair, rather than carefully styled in the swept-back quiff he’d taken to lately, hung limp and unkempt over his forehead.
He looked kind of terrible, actually.
Roy wouldn’t have let him come in if there was anything seriously wrong, though. That much, Isaac was sure of.
He hadn’t been overly surprised when the pair had told the team they were together. There had always been a weird level of intensity between the two and more than one person over the years had quietly speculated that at least some of it was down to sexual tension.
Any worries about how it would affect team dynamics had simmered down quick enough, too. If anything, they both seemed to overcompensate at work to make sure they couldn’t be accused of dropping the ball, so to speak.
But they did obviously spend their mornings together, training or otherwise, even if they arrived on different schedules. And though Roy was still hard on Jamie as a coach, he was also exceedingly protective as a boyfriend.
If something more than a bad night’s sleep were at play, he would have insisted Jamie stayed home.
Still, Isaac kept a careful eye and ear out while he went through his routine of getting ready. It probably wouldn’t be the worst thing for Jamie to fall asleep where he sat and get a quick nap in, but it was best to be ready to catch him if he toppled off the bench in the process.
Dani was the next to arrive, far too perky for the early hour and seemingly not phased by Jamie’s presence. His smile did dim at the lack of response to his bright greeting but Isaac caught his eye and gestured for him to keep it down a bit.
The message was received and passed on through silent glances and elaborate head tilts as more players filtered in, a collective effort to let Jamie close his eyes and snooze overriding the usual rambunctious atmosphere. Isaac was very proud.
Nate was the first of the coaching staff to arrive. He looked confused at the lack of rabble in the room and his gaze followed everyone else’s to see Jamie snoring softly. They all shushed him frantically when he opened his mouth to clearly try and rouse him.
Isaac, Sam and Colin beckoned him over to the other side of the room.
“What’s up with Jamie?” he asked quietly, looking between them.
“Just said he didn’t sleep well.” Isaac shrugged. “He was in before me. Seemed kind of out of it.”
“He doesn’t look alright.” Colin put in, frowning over at their pale and sleeping teammate.
“Have you heard from Roy today?” Sam asked Nate, worry pinching the corners of his eyes. “He must know if something is wrong.”
“I haven’t.” Nate checked his phone but shook his head. “No, nothing. They don’t always come in together, though.”
“But they train in the mornings.” Dani whisper-shouted from his end of the bench, clearly listening in and echoing Isaac’s own thought processes from earlier.
“It could be that Jamie did not sleep because they had a fight…?” Richard ventured reluctantly, holding up his hands in defence when the room hissed at him in disgust. “Just a suggestion!”
“If Jamie were angry or upset, he would be running laps or sulking, not sleeping.” Sam pointed out.
“And they wouldn’t bring that shit into work.” Isaac stated with surety.
Nate looked back at Jamie and checked the time on his watch.
“We’ll need to wake him up soon and make sure he’s okay. He can’t just sleep in here all day.” He peered over into the coaches’ office and looked relieved to see movement. “I think Beard’s arrived - I’ll go see if he’s got any ideas.”
The air of respectful quiet had shifted to uncertain worry as everyone started to question, internally or amongst themselves, exactly why Jamie was so exhausted. He didn’t have the best track record with open communication when something was wrong.
Could there be something up between him and Roy?
As if on cue, their manager stalked into the locker room and was immediately taken aback by the subdued environment. He stopped dead in the doorway and scowled.
“What the fuck’s up with you lot?”
“Roy?” Jamie stirred and opened his eyes to a squint in search of the familiar voice. Roy’s head immediately snapped to the side and took in Jamie’s half-reclined form.
“You look like shit.” Only years of experience let Isaac pick up on the surprise and concern in Roy’s voice. Vague worries about trouble in paradise dissipated immediately.
Jamie - predictably - pouted up at him. “‘S not nice.”
The slurred speech sent Roy’s eyebrows flying up in alarm and his emotions suddenly became a lot more visible to the untrained eye. He quickly pressed the back of his hand against Jamie’s forehead, cursing quietly at whatever he felt there.
“Fucking hell, Jamie. You could have called me.”
“Were you not together?” Sam asked, now also clearly edging back towards distress. Nate and Beard emerged from the office at the new wave of commotion.
Roy shook his head. “No. Phoebe’s been staying at mine while she’s off school with the flu. Told this idiot to go home last night and get some proper sleep.”
He sighed and, despite his harsh words, gently smoothed back Jamie’s hair.
“You’re supposed to tell someone when you catch the plague, you muppet.”
Jamie just whined pitifully and leaned into the contact so hard he almost slumped right off the bench. Half the team jolted in place with aborted attempts to catch him.
Roy was right there, though, and easily tipped him back to a safe sitting position, grip steady.
“Alright, prima donna. Let’s get you home.” He looked over to Nate and Beard. “You two good to get things started? I can be back in an hour or two.”
“Take your time.” Beard gave him a firm nod and Nate mumbled his agreement, brow furrowed at the scene. “We got this.”
Declan swept in to help pack up Jamie’s things as Roy cajoled him to his feet and slid an arm around his waist to keep him upright. He accepted the duffle bag with a grateful grunt and started shuffling his boyfriend towards the exit.
“Let us know if you need anything, yeah?” Isaac demanded when they were finally underway.
Roy looked back over his shoulder and half-smiled at the room of worried eyes staring back at him. “Will do, captain. Keep an eye on the rest of them for me.”

I would love to see a lexi x fem reader from euphoria, maybe reader is like nates younger sister but she is the sweetest and kindest person, so lexi and reader both have a crush on each other and so maybe cassie and maddie try to get them to admit their feelings and somehow they do, so it's pure fluff with lexi and reader sharing a kiss at the end, something like that, and then them being in a romantic relationship

it's funny, you know? how such an asshole like nate jacobs can be related to such a sweet angel like (reader) jacobs.
i mean, that's what mostly anybody sane thought. people like lexi, rue and more.
but there were also douchebags who would try and say she was like him. but she was never.
nate jacobs never helped his friends to classes. never tried to be as respectful as possible. nope, that was all her.
that's what lexi thought every time she saw her with nate, and it would be common that she held an intense glare at him for being such an ass.
but that would go away when she always approached lexi, always being happy to see her friend / crush by their lockers that were across from cassie and maddy's.
you two had such a beautiful chemistry that maddy and nate were never going to have and so, maddy and cassie noticed.
"oh my god, they're fucking whipped for each other." maddy claimed, looking at the two of them that were laughing while they shared each other memes they found the night before.
"yeah, they are." cassie smiled at them, slightly jealous that she didn't have a relationship like that. but she was proud of her sister for having something she didn't. a healthy crush.
maddy turned to cassie, closing her locker as she pointed at the two.
"if we don't get them together, somebody's gonna steal one of them. and they probably need to be together." cassie lifted a brow at maddy, glancing at the two before turning back to maddy.
"i don't know. they can get together by themselves, plus, we shouldn't intrude on their love lives." cassie told maddy, as maddy crossed her arms, lightly laughing sarcastically.
"well, last night, i saw little angel with one of nate's friends at their house. we don't want that because that dude is lowkey a dick and doesn't deserve someone like (reader). plus, we wouldn’t be really do much, just give them a little push." maddy told cassie, grabbing out her phone and showing the guy she's been seeing.
cassie looked at the photo before looking back at the two then back at maddy.
"ok, let's do it."
Tumblr media
lexi and (reader) sat at their desks in history class as (reader) lightly scrolled through her phone in secret while glancing at the teacher.
hey
(reader) smiled, looking across the room to lexi's chair as lexi smiled at her phone, glancing at their teacher as well.
hi!
we still hanging out at my place tonight?
sorry, i can't tonight. aaron just told me my parents got into a fight so i gotta help my mom
sorry about that
its fine, it happens
still tho, ur parents are kinda dicks
yeah, kinda but their still my parents, so yeah
(reader) frowned at her phone, thinking of what words to type next.
sorry i can't spend the night at your place again
its ok! your busy, i get it
still sucks tho-
yeah
(reader) put her phone away, slipping it into their hoodie pocket as lexi shut off her phone as well, kind of frowning as cassie looked at the two, finally finding something cassie and maddy could do to get them together.
Tumblr media
next class, maddy and (reader) sat next to each other in science class, (reader) zoning out through half of it, bored.
(reader) felt a buzz in her pocket, taking it out slowly to see a text from maddy.
hey
(reader) glanced at maddy confused, as the two didn't really interact and would only contact each other if there was an emergency.
hi, u ok?
yeah, u going to lexi's tonight
nah and how do u know about that
cassie but who cares about that rn, why aren't u going
my parents got into a fight, gonna take care of my mom and make sure she doesn’t get wine drunk
who cares?
i do. it’s my mom, i need to take care of her
but do u want to?
. . .
how about u come over to their home and relax a bit, cassie says she misses you and plus, i’m gonna there, i’ll make up an excuse for u
she does?
yep
i guess i’ll go then
cool, see u later then
yep
(reader) smiled lightly, closing maddy’s contact and opening lexi’s
i’m actually coming over tonight
cool! see u
yep!
lexi’s mood lifted, putting her phone away as she was happy that she got to spend time with her and finally!
the two weren’t able to spend time after school because of her parents getting into fights constantly for the past month, which sucked because that was the time where they were able to spend most of their time together.
but because maddy persuaded her, she was finally able to go now that she had an excuse. which made the two lovebirds happy.
Tumblr media
so. . . maddy wasn’t there, same with cassie. they both lied.
but the two teenagers could care less as (reader) sat at the edge of lexi’s bed in silence, playing truth or dare.
“truth or dare.” “truth.”
“is it true that jules and rue are dating?” (reader) questioned lexi, resting her head on top of her knees, rocking back and forth, bored as a movie played in the background.
“i. . . actually don’t know.” “yeah? hm.”
“they definitely have some type of. . . tension though.” (reader) said, throwing her head back to the bed post as lexi nodded, agreeing with her as she typed on her computer.
“what are you writing anyway? just asking.” (reader) asked, picking at her painted finger nails.
“i’m trying to write a play. “ooooo! what’s it about?” (reader) questioned, her interest being picked up as she raised her head.
“about our lives, my life, just what happens in this high school.” lexi explained, smiling at (reader)‘s sudden interested and smile.
“can i take a look? just for a second?” lexi nodded at her as she scooted herself closer to lexi, looking at her computer as lexi lightly scrolled through the plot she had.
the plot described the people, ranging from jade, hallie, marta, luna and angela. the plot focused one part on angela, the main character telling the audience that she liked angela, having a deep crush on her despite not confessing to not ruin the friendship she loved.
considering the play was about the lives in their high school, she assumed the main character was lexi as (reader) let out a ‘oooo’ in interest.
“who’s the lucky girl then?” (reader) turned to lexi, interested. lexi looked at her, hesitation rising in her as (reader) waited for a response.
“um. . . it’s you, (reader).” lexi confessed, staring at her with a slight blush on her cheeks while (reader) was frozen in place. not because she was mad but because she was shocked that her crush liked her back too.
“w—wait, really?” (reader) questioned, trying to make sure that she heard lexi correctly.
“yeah, i’ve liked you for a while now.” (reader) suddenly let a smile come onto her face, smiling the hardest to the point her cheeks hurt from the pressure.
“can i kiss you?. . . if your ok with it?” (reader) asked lexi as she nodded, moving closer to lexi, kissing her lightly on the lips.
the two separated from the kiss, lexi still having that blush on her cheeks as (reader) smiled at her, now holding her hand.
“this might be a dumb question because we probably are but can i be your girlfriend? if your comfortable with it, i don’t wanna—“
“i’d love that.” lexi interrupted her question as she smiled, clapping her fingers a little, happy.
“thank you.” (reader) thanked as lexi nodded, holding her hand still.
“can i help you with your play?” (reader) asked lexi as she nodded again, (reader) now laying on lexi’s side as she typed on her computer.
and for the rest of the night, they spent their time writing the play during their first night as girlfriends.

MASTERLIST
It's the end doo doo doo doo! The final match of the season, the ending. I really hope you've enjoyed reading this as much as I have writing it. I've had the best time and I'm really proud of this one! 💜
Chapter 10
You hadn’t considered that footballers or their coaches would get nervous. But the tension in the run up to the Man City game was palpable. The whole town seemed on edge, Roy included. He’d spent each one of your Lexie nights at your house, it felt a little odd that he was there observing your boring mum routine of washing, cooking and carrying the mental load of knowing where Lexie needed to be, when and everything else in between. He didn’t ask to stay, even though you’d wanted him to, he’d said goodnight each evening and gone back to his place. By the time Lexie was back to her dads, you’d worked out that he’d been there every evening not just because he’d wanted to be, but because he’d needed to be. The build up to the game had him restless and distractible and the time with you and Lexie managed to relax him far more than sitting in an empty house, or going over and over the match with Jamie, or Nate or whoever else was free for a pint. When you’d gone to him just a day before the match, the only solace he’d found from the plays, the tactics and the team, was in you. He took his time, undressing you slowly and kissing every inch of skin as it became exposed to him.
"Let me take care of you," you whispered. You felt his head shake as he kissed down your neck.
"I've never needed anyone like I need you." He muttered, swiping a calloused thumb over your hardening nipple, "you look so fucking beautiful like this." You rolled your hips against him,
"Please, Roy. I need you-" you all but begged. All night he'd taken the lead and given you everything, losing himself in the feel of your body against his. When they won the next day, you were euphoric. Lexie and Phoebe had been in bits when the camera had focused in on Roy and Nate discussing something over an iPad and they could see that Roy was wearing his Richmond colours friendship bracelet. The late journey back from Manchester and the subsequent celebrations meant that it was Tuesday morning before you saw him again. You’d joined the slip road to the school, queuing for the carpark with the windows down and blasting 90s dance music when his car had pulled alongside yours. You and Lexie had been so engrossed in singing/shouting Robin S ‘Show Me Love’ - complete with 'big box, little box' hand dancing - that you hadn’t even seen him until Phoebe had called through the open windows.
“Morning. Congratulations on the win!” You’d called out.
“Morning. Nice dancing.”
“Especially for you.” You winked. You’d ended up parked at different ends of the carpark so he and Phoebe had waited for you by the gate as you walked down to them. You’d pulled out your phone to take a call from a recruitment agency so he’d walked alongside you while you talked and the girls ran ahead. “And that’s in Richmond? Wow, ok that sounds really interesting. Absolutely yes, send my CV over if you think I’m in with a shot. Actually, just send it over anyway - I’d be mad not to at least try,” at the front of the queue at the gates, you handed Lexie her bag and gave her a kiss whilst still on the phone, “Ok, could you just hang on one second please?” You moved the phone away from your mouth and stepped up on tiptoes to give Roy a lingering kiss. The other playground parents looked on, wide eyed. “I have to go, I love you. See you later.” You whispered, taking up the phone again and going back to the car, your hand holding onto his until you couldn’t reach any further. Lexie was with her dad during the beginning of that week so that she could go with you to the final Richmond match at the weekend, so after work you’d gone straight to Roy’s. You hopped up to sit on the counter while he cooked.
“Ted’s staying.” He told you, hands on your thighs.
“Really? That’s great!”
“He got to work this morning and Rebecca was in his office. She only fucking told him she was in love with him, that she’d help his ex get a job here if she wanted to move, she’d help them find a school for Henry… pretty much told him she’d do fucking anything if he’d say.” You leaned forward, eager to hear more,
“And did he tell her?”
“Yeah, told her he was in love with her. We walked in to find them nearly going at it in the office.” You shrieked,
“Oh god that’s so cute! At least you all know before the weekend as well.”
“Settles the lads down a bit, bunch of fucking kids sometimes.” You slid forward to wrap your legs around his hips. “Any news on that job from this morning?” His hands move up your thighs and around your waist so he can kiss your neck,
“Not yet, the agency is putting me forward. It’s in Richmond though, which would be amazing. I should hear more tomorrow.”
“And how you feeling going into your last week?”
“Happy. Scared. Nervous.”
“We’ll figure it out, you know. I won’t let you fucking drown. Season finishes at the weekend, so this time next week I’ll have loads more free time for a few weeks. I can help with Lex while you do what you need to do.” He’s turned the pan off and pulled you off the counter, taking you over to the sofa, dinner forgotten for now.
~~~~~~~
You took a further call from the recruitment agency the following day. Their client was interested in meeting you but needed an informal off-site meeting. You arranged with the recruiter to meet with them towards the end of the week just outside of town. To say you were surprised to see Keeley Jones and Rebecca Welton being led to your table was an understatement. You shook hands and sat back down before your legs could give out. The mums might have been all good, the kids, but maybe you were about to be ousted by two of the most influential women in Roy’s life? You clearly looked terrified because Keeley, to her credit, took your hand and held it,
“Oh fuck, you look so scared! I’m so sorry we ambushed you, are you ok?” You think of the night before when Roy had cooked your favourite meal while you’d taken Lexie to swimming lessons and then onto her dads. When you’d sat in his lap and pushed your fingers into the knot in his shoulder to try and relieve some of the stress of the final week of the season. When he’d lost all patience and decided on a different way to unwind, which had mostly revolved around keeping his head between your thighs for as long as you let him. You think about your 4am wake up call that morning, and the 6am follow up, where he’d interlocked your fingers above your head and pressed you into the mattress as he whispered “I could do this forever”. Whatever had changed their mind in the time since the gala, you couldn’t let it derail your future.
“Look, if you’ve suddenly come to the realisation that I’m not good enough for Roy then that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. But I’m not going to be scared off. He loves me and I’ll take that for as long as I possibly can because I am so, so in love with him and I will spend forever making him happy in any way I can. I’m really sorry, I’m sure you’re both lovely women and I know he values your opinions, but if he’s ever going to change how he feels about me then he’ll do it himself and he’ll tell me himself. And congratulations by the way,” you turn to Rebecca, “I heard that Ted is staying and that he finally told you he loves you. I’m so happy for you.” Keeley smiled at you while Rebecca looked curiously.
“Are you sure about this?” She asked Keeley,
“I’ve been doing some digging. Trust me, Rebecca.”
“We’re not here to try and break you and Roy up.” Rebecca said finally,
“Oh. Well then I don’t understand?”
“I’d like to interview you for a job.”
“Sorry, what? Shit, have I just fucked it up completely?”
“Nahh!” Keeley said quickly.
“Well-” Rebecca interrupted.
“No, she hasn’t. We probably scared her half to death, Rebecca! Give the poor woman a minute to recover.” You finish your water and take a deep breath.
“I’m sorry, really I am. I got completely carried away and I shouldn't have gone off like that.”
“Thank you,” Rebecca said, smiling at last. “And thank you for letting me know just how much you care about Roy.” You nod, making peace. Keeley whipped out some paperwork from her bag.
“So! Like Rebecca said, this is I guess, a final stage interview without all the previous stages? We already know about you, we'd love to know more. Our previous Director of Comms was Leslie Higgins, he moved into the Football Ops role quite a while ago now and there’s never really been the need to replace him. He and Rebecca have sort of taken on the various tasks and it’s worked fine.” She pauses for Rebecca to step in and continue,
“Now though, we’re one game away from maybe winning the Premier League just one season after coming back from relegation. That’s practically unheard of. The huge, growing success of the club, the opportunities with the Champions League next season and our plans for the future mean that we need to strengthen the internal team. KBPR can only do so much - they have other clients and I can’t ask Keeley to devote all of her time to the club.”
“We think,” Keeley started, “that with us, and Leslie and you… we could be a real Fab Four. The core AFC Richmond decision makers - with the coaches input of course.” You are stunned, to say the least.
“When you say you’ve done some digging, what exactly do you mean by that?”
“Well, when you told me who you worked for and what you’d worked on, I realised that we’d met before. I’ve been asking around people who have worked with you or who have come across you in a professional capacity to learn more. When I liked what I saw, I took it to Rebecca.”
“With Ted confirmed as staying now, I have some big plans ahead for Roy. We have some very big plans ahead as a club.”
“And you don’t think it would be weird? Me working with you, for one,” you gesture to Keeley, “or with Roy?”
“I’ve been at the club probably at least two or three times a week since the day you blocked him in on the school car park. He came in ranting and raving about some idiot driver and every day, I’ve heard him fall more in love with you. If he found out there was a way to have you in the same building every day, I think he’d be beating Rebecca’s door down himself. And working in the same building doesn’t necessarily mean you spend every waking hour together. You still have crucial jobs to do. And as for me, I'd love to work with you.” Rebecca nodded in agreement.
“The job is nothing you don’t already know, the only difference is the industry.”
“Exactly, my football knowledge is… limited at best!”
“We’re a family, we wouldn’t let you drown.” Hearing Rebecca use the same phrase as Roy struck a chord with you.
“I take it you have a job spec, contract, everything I need to read through and make a decision?”
“An interview is as much about you deciding if we’re the right fit for you, as it is for us to decide. I think you’ll find that the club's current standing means we can afford to give you a generous package, and the locality means we can support a better work-life balance.”
“Take this, read it and see what you think.” You take the folder.
“As his friends, do you think I should tell Roy now, or decide based on him not knowing? I assume we’ve met here because he doesn’t know, and inviting me to Nelson Road would be a dead giveaway?”
“Perhaps tell him about the role first and then bring in where it came from. Let him help offer an opinion based on the job alone.” Rebecca suggested. “And I do so hope you’ll agree to join us, I think you could be a truly great asset to the club.”
~~~~~~~~
You’d kept the folder at your house, not daring to leave it in a bag or your car in danger of accidentally taking it to Roy’s. Being at yours also meant you could be ‘busy’ and have Lexie as a buffer and it also being your last week at your current workplace, this also gave you an excuse for being more distracted than usual. The last game of the season was doing the same for him so his being distracted also helped you. The intimacy of spending time alone at Roy’s exposed all of your vulnerabilities. You’d spent so many nights laying in the dark in his arms listening to him talk about his family and career, and have him ask about yours, it was impossible to hide anything from him. You’d mentioned the role to him, you’d had to since he knew about the original recruiter call, and he’d reacted to it exactly as you hoped he would - excited for you to have such a great opportunity, close to home, with a package befitting your knowledge and experience. You wanted to wait until after the West Ham game to tell him exactly who the role was for. Lexie was spending the night before the match at Phoebe’s for a sleepover. The night before the Man City game meant you knew exactly how he'd want to forget the West Ham match and this time, you'd planned accordingly. You'd finished your final day at work early and had blown the cash from your leaving card on the most beautiful lingerie set you'd ever seen. You'd come back via Nelson Road to borrow his keys, and gone back to his to cook. When he got back late that afternoon, you'd set up outside under the secluded canopy in his garden with soft lights, blankets and cushions. You handed him a beer and led him outside, brought food out - including dessert, and then when you'd eaten and cleared up, you stepped in front of him and slipped your summer dress down your body. He reached out and took your hand, you'd sat in his lap with your legs either side of his. He ran his finger over the cup of the bra,
"Holy fucking shit, you're perfect,"
"Distracting enough?"
"Yeah I'd say so." He said gruffly. “It’s a good fucking job I just need to stand on the side of the pitch now.” He laughed.
The match was intense, unexpected drama on the sidelines and Isaac’s incredible goal had everyone holding their breath for another goal or for news from the Liverpool game. When the win came, no one seemed to care what the final table result was. The fans flooded the pitch to be with their team. You, Sara and the girls had stayed back a little, you could see better as Coach Lasso danced with his team surrounding him. When you let the girls onto the pitch, they run straight to Roy and he ends up with Phoebe on his front and giving a piggyback to Lexie at the same time.
“Don’t come crying to me later when you can’t walk.” You tease, finding a route past Phoebe to give him a kiss.”
“You’re not gonna fucking take care of me?” He asks, faux outraged.
“Every. Single. Day.”
“Dad!” Lexie calls, she taps Roy’s shoulder and he lets her down. Andy is coming across the pitch from the away fans side.
“Alright love.” He scoops her up and hugs her. “Congratulations,” he says to Roy who nods without greeting. “Dunno what old Mannion was doing. Made us look like fools. Do you ehh, do you know if our gaffer is ok?”
“Yeah, that old twat is fine. Just a bruised ego and a picture of his balls on the front of every paper tomorrow.” Andy shrugs.
“I uhh, I wanted to apologise to you both. I was a real dickhead-” Roy snorts a laugh, “worse than that, then. I’m sorry. I’ve been watching since the game finished. You look happy.” He turns to you,
“I am.” You say shortly, unsure whether to trust the apology.
“Good. I mean it, you look happy together. And Lexie tells me so all the time. I’m… happy for you.” You thank him and he heads off with his mates to the pub. You’re left with the feeling that you might never be friendly, but you can at least be cordial. Relieved of carrying the kids, Roy pulls you into his arms.
“He’s jealous.”
“Of me?” he laughs,
“Of me, you muppet.” He leans down to kiss your cheek and whisper in your ear, “because you're the one. You're it. You're the only one I want for the rest of my life. And he knows he fucked it up.”
“Hmm, you're pretty irresistible yourself.” The kiss you leave him with leaves you both breathless,
“Think we can find somewhere-”
“No way, there are hundreds of people here. I need to tell you something later.” He looks curiously at you, but you both get caught up in another ‘Richmond til we Die’ chant when Jamie, Keeley and a raft of players come over to find Roy. A little further through the crowd, you see Ted sweep Rebecca into his arms and kiss her. Even an hour after the game had ended, the club was still heaving with people. The fans had gone on to celebrate elsewhere but the families and friends of the players and staff remained. Rebecca had instructed the bar to stay open, insisting that she’d cover the bill. Phoebe and Lexie were still running around on the now empty pitch with Leslie’s younger children and other player’s and staff kids. You’ve told Sara about the job and you can’t wait to tell Roy. He’s sitting with Nate, both of them animatedly discussing Jamie’s Oscar winning performance with Coach Beard.
“Have you got an answer for me yet?” Rebecca asks, sitting next to you in the dugout.
“Yes, I think I do. I’d like to run it by someone in particular first though.” You catch Roy’s eye, he looks surprised but happy to see you talking to Rebecca. She waves her hand to call him over.
“Coach Kent, congratulations.”
“You too.”
“I meant your excellent girlfriend, not the match.” He cocks an eyebrow at her,
“Thanks then. She’s fucking brilliant.”
“I know. Thought I might poach her from you?” The furrow in his brow deepens with his confusion. You stand up and kiss the frown away.
“The amazing job I’ve been offered? It would be here. Working for Rebecca.” You tell him, trying to keep your voice light but nervous for his response.
“Here? Every day?”
“Yeah,” you start to mistake his hesitation for annoyance, “but if you think that’s really fucking weird, then I can tell Rebecca to stuff it - no offense, Rebecca - and I can carry on looking and something else will turn up-”
“I don’t think it’s really fucking weird. I think you should say yes. You should definitely fucking do it.”
“Yeah?”
“Fuck yeah.”
“You’d better come over tomorrow then, sign your contract.” Rebecca says with a smile. “Welcome.” You and Sara party on the pitch with the team until the girls start to flag and it’s time to go. You insist Roy stay,
“I’ll see you tomorrow, go - have an amazing night, you’ve earned it. I’m so fucking proud of you.” You kiss him and he waves you off.
~~~~~~~
You’re reading in bed when the door knocks so quietly you think you might have imagined it. Lexie is practically comatose in her bed, the combination of exhilaration and fresh air has completely wiped her out. You creep down the stairs in one of Roy’s t-shirts and open the door. Jamie Tartt is on your doorstep with an arm slung around Roy.
“Tried to get him to come to a club with us, but he made us bring ‘im ‘ere instead.” You stifle a giggle, you can see that Roy’s nowhere near as drunk as Jamie but he’s still looking at you with total adoration.
“Thanks Jamie, I’ll take it from here. You have a good night,” you look around him to the taxi down the path. Isaac and Colin are both waving madly at you. “Be safe, boys.” You wave to them and blow a kiss before slipping your arm around Roy’s waist and guiding him inside.
“Night Coach,” Jamie grins.
“Night Tartt, fuckin’ love you man. Fuckin’ love all of you.”
“We know. And we wouldn’t have been on that fuckin’ pitch without you.” Jamie gave you both a little salute and ran off back to the taxi.
“Come on, coach. Time for bed.” You lead him upstairs and sit him on the bed so you can take off his t-shirt, then you drop to your knees and unlace his trainers. You pull his hands to get him to stand up, running your hands around the waistband of his dark jeans and pulling them down. Once they’re free of his hips, he sits back down. “Come here,” you whisper, climbing into bed and pulling him with you, his body between your legs and his head on your heart.
“Feels like I won the whole fucking thing.” He whispers against your skin as he falls asleep.
Shatter my soul ~ Part - 2
Summary : Harry has been suffering from an addiction and y/n decides to take time for herself or based on this ask
Pairing: rockstarboyfried!Harry x reader!y/n
Warnings: Angst
My masterlist
Read part 1 here
I love you and I've loved you since the day I met you. I'm sorry i couldn't realise how to be better for you for us when you were here. You were the only one who struck by me through it all and now I'd do the same for you but there are some truths you need to know before. I swore to be honest and I wanna be that way with you because that's the least you deserve.
All those your friends tell you they hate me but they spend the nights you are out in my bed. I had no recollection of the first time it happened. After a particular hars session I was high and drunk i thought it was you but when she showed back two days later I didn't stop it. I should have I knew I should have but I didn't and I don't know why I didn't.
I don't even remember what happened the night before because I was that high. It think I needed osme kind of relief that the drugs couldn't give me or maybe i wanted to hurt you. I'm an arrogant son of a bitch and you shouldn't be with someone like me. You should be with someone who would treat you well and take care of you like you deserve to be. Everyone taught us to chase money for happiness but they have no idea what losing happiness is an that's what's I felt when you left me. The last ounce of happiness walking out of my life leaving me with nothing and I wanted it back because it was everything to be an di didn't even know it until I lost it.
But i was never that kind of happiness to you. You loved doing you job, you lived little things around you that brought you happiness but I wasn't one of them because all I ever did was hurt you.
I wish there will be a day when I get to the place to be someone you deserve. I'll come find you if I ever become worthy of loving you. Untill then if that ever happens I wish you all the happiness because that is all you deserve in this cruel world.
I will always love with my whole heart y/n.
Love, your H
*
I love sunsets, the beautiful hues of colours filling the cloudy sky. Driving out to the suburbs and watching the chemtrails with her little brother every weekend was y/n's favourite thing.
"Harry called me yesterday" he says as he munches his waffles they got on the way.
"He wished me for my birthday and asked about you" he says as he side eyes her trying to see her reaction.
Nate's birthday was ten days earlier but y/n did give harry credit that he had called.
It had been almost a year since she moved away from New York. All she had there were haunting memories she wished to forget. The sun sets as they sit on the back of the truck eating the food. After reading the letter y/n knew what she had to do. And that was to get away from there as soon as possible.
She couldn't believe she had trusted people who would do this behind her back. Y/n thought moving back home would help her mend her broken heart but after weeks of crying over the betrayal and hurt she was numb.
Harry was her home. She doesn't even remember her life before him. 11years through thick and thin all for nothing. She moved out on her own after three months and adopted a puppy to keep her company. She doesn't know she would ever get over him. Would people ever get over their first love. She didn't know but she knew it will be better. It's going to get better.
Harry had been clean since their breakup and she couldn't be more proud of him. They hadn't talked or seen each other in a year. All y/n knew was she was miserable without him. After reading the letter y/n had disappeared from all of her friends life and while they were worried and had spammed her phone like they care she never replied. How do you trust someone when every single person you had trusted had backstabbed you?
The city was beautiful after a rain. A chill in the air making harry hug his coat tighter as he walks around. He had been doing well. His next album was ready to be released in few weeks, he was clean for almost two years but the hole in his heart didn't seem to be mending. It only grew bigger every day he was away from her. He knew she wouldn't forgive him. He also knew she was it for him but now it has all gone the drain and he has to live the rest of his life without her.
He stops to get a coffee and his eyes spots a familiar face in the corner her beautiful laugh echoing through the cafe. He spots a blond guy sitting opposite to her and his heart sinks further. Right as he was about to leave y/n's eyes meets his and a smile grazes her features and Harry returns it as y/n turns her focus back to the guy she was talking. Harry is about to walk away when y/n gets up nodding at the guy before hurriedly walking out.
"Hi Harry" she starts and Harry engulfs her in a hug which y/n happily hugs back. God knows she missed his hugs. They just made her feel like she was finally home and safe
"god....I missed you so much, how have you been?" he asks a little hesitant.
"I'm all good, created a whole new life. think I needed the change..." She ends nothing wanting to sound like it was all his fault.
"I'm really really sorry y/n... you were the best thing that ever happened to me and I just can't believe-"
"h, it's okay. I've forgiven you a long time ago." y/n cuts in much to Harry's surprise to hear she had forgiven him. " so how have you been?"
"I have been good, pulled my life together. been sober for almost two years now."
"that's really great to hear h, im so proud of you" y/n says and Harry nods with a smile. It's a little silent as they both decide how to go further from this. harry was in over his head about losing her again because that is what he deserves after everything so he was ready to bid goodbye and leave her life for good but y/n spoke up before him "You wanna grab a coffee?" she asks pointing towards the cafe.
harry was glad to hear y/n still wanted him in her life and vows to never break her trust again and to win back her trust no matter what and y/n on the other hand is ready to try to mend their broken relationship. it will be slow progress but as they sit there laughing as they share their life like they used to they both knew that they will be okay.
A/n : I know you guys wanted Harry to beg to take him back but I made this as them realising they were meant for each other. And the begging gave me another idea for a one shot so see you there. Thanks for the ask anon 🫶🏻
