“I want a divorce,” you stated as you handed him the papers.

There was no malice in your voice, you did your best to keep it as neutral as possible. You were afraid of his reaction, mostly because you had a feeling he wouldn't let you get away that easily.

And just as you expected, his jaw tightened as he took the papers and looked down at them, going through each page to see what it was all about. “Marital breakdown? Really?” he asked when he reached the part about the ground for the divorce.

You could have chosen mutual consent, but because of your dear husband, you didn't expect this option to work. So you took a risk, and apparently he wasn't happy with that either. Well, you doubted he would have been happy with any reason at all.

“Just sign it. I don't want anything from you,” you added.

Vincent threw the papers on his desk and took a step closer to you. “I won't sign this, don't even think about it,” he hissed as he looked down at you, eyeing you as if you had just stabbed him in the heart and twisted the knife.

“Please, don't make this more complicated than it should be. Just let me go,” you asked him. “We don't have a child, and like I said, I don't want anything from you. This should be a walk in the park if you sign it.”

“I am not going to sign anything,” he repeated, punctuating each and every word carefully in hopes of his message finally getting through to you. “And why do you want to leave me? Do you have someone waiting for you to be free of me?”

His question surprised you, because you didn't think he would ever have doubts about your fidelity. “Don't be ridiculous, I'm not having an affair. I just had enough of this between us.”

Letting out a sigh, he leaned down to place a soft kiss on your lips. When you pushed him away, he let out an annoyed groan. “I gave you everything, mon amour, how can that not be enough for you? What more do you want?”

“I don't want anything from you, Vincent. Just sign the papers, please. I want to leave Paris tonight,” you admitted almost guiltily. You didn't want to leave so abruptly, but you simply couldn't stay here any longer.

You watched as he took a deep breath then began to pace in front of you, his hand finding its way to his hair. “Tonight? You want to leave me tonight? It's two in the afternoon!” he said, raising his voice.

“I know it's sudden, but I'm suffocating. I've been thinking about this for weeks, and–”

“Weeks?” he interrupted you angrily. “You've been thinking about ending our marriage for weeks and you're just telling me now on the day you want to leave me?”

It wasn't fair, you knew that. But you also knew that if you had given him time to process it, he would have used it to change your mind, to convince you to stay despite your decision. And he could have manipulated you until you agreed to stay with him, which you obviously didn't want.

“Just sign the papers. My lawyer will jump in to get them tomorrow,” you told him, then walked out of the room without waiting for his response.

Of particular concern is the retention of archaic provisions, such as the restitution of conjugal rights, which has been challenged for its constitutional validity. Critics argue that such provisions perpetuate gender-based violence and undermine fundamental rights, including the right to live with dignity and freedom of choice. The groups also maintain that this law denies or takes away fundamental rights.

Even the existing provision of women's right to reside in their matrimonial homes has been taken away. “Thus rights to equality, right to live and livelihood and to live with dignity, right to freedom of speech and expression, freedom of conscience and right to freely profess, practice and propagate religion, have become casualties under this Bill,” the statement reads.

A French man has been accused of drugging his wife and the recording at least 51 men rape her while she slept over the period of 10 years.

Dominique P, a pensioner who had been married for over 50 years, allegedly mixed the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam into his wife's evening meal, La Monde reported.

He would then invite his "guests" into their house in Mazan to rape his sleeping wife between 2011 and 2020.

A total of 51 men between the ages of 26-73 have been identified, arrested and charged with rape following an inquiry launched in 2020 in the southern city of Avignon.

The suspect reportedly found the men on “a son insu” - an active French internet forum where members discuss performing sexual acts on women without their consent and often drugged.

The exchanges on the web forum were erased after being linked to a criminal investigation into paedophile, racist or anti-Semitic content and the sale of illicit substances.

Law enforcement officials learned about the videos during a preliminary investigation three years ago when the suspect was caught trying to film woman in a changing room with a hidden camera.

The videos were found on the man's computer, where they were meticulously archived in a file called "Abuses". The titles of the hundreds of videos indicate a date, a first name and the nature of the actions, according to the French newspaper.

Investigators have identified 92 cases of sexual assault of the woman by 83 suspects, but are yet to identify all the men.

Tobacco and perfume were banned by the suspect in order to avoid strong smells that could waken his wife. The men were asked to wash their hands in warm water to avoid sudden temperature change and were made to undress in the kitchen to avoid leaving clothes in the bedroom.

The "guests" had to park near a school and walk in the dark to the house to avoid raising neighbours' suspicion.

Some claimed they had no idea his wife has not consented to the sexual acts, while one person denied it was rape, saying: “It’s his wife, he does what he likes with her.”

According to prosecutors in Avignon, the suspect insisted that "none of the men who came to his house gave up going through with sexual acts on his wife given her state".

"He never used violence or threats against anyone so that rapes would be committed. Each individual was in possession of his free will to stop these acts and leave,” the prosecutors said.

When the woman was asked to talk about her husband in November 2020 during the initial investigation, she described him as a "great guy" and "kind and caring". She said he tried to get to agree to partner-swapping but she refused as “she didn’t like to be touched without having feelings (for someone)”.

When the police informed her of the tapes, she reportedly began pieceing together the past. The woman said she had flashbacks and that the drugging could have been the reason behind her frequent fatigue and “absent-mindedness”.

Medical examinations found she had been infected with four sexually transmitted diseases.

If the investigating magistrate follows the prosecutor’s indictment, a "historic trial" is expected to take place early next year with 52 defendants in the same box.

The woman has filed for a divorce.

ARES AND APHRODITE'S RELATIONSHIP

Many people claim that Aphrodite was a vain woman that cared about superficial things rather than substantial matters. Her relationship was Ares was just a rebellion against Zeus who forced her to marry Hephaestus without her consent. BIG LIE.

Sources of many Greek philosophers(Herodotos, Nonnus) claim that Ares and Aphrodite started their relationship way long before Hephaestus arrival upon Olympus. Also, they had Deimos and Phobos before all the drama (they were thought to be their first children).

Forcing Aphrodite to marry a man against hero own will wan unethical in many fields. You can't force love or emotions. Aphrodite and Ares already had built up their lives around each other, starting creating a small family. Zeus decision isn't only about fearing a possible war between the deities for Aphrodite's hand, but also because Aphrodite was a powerful goddess who had an affair with his most hateful son, Ares. Their children personified the strongest feelings a person can feel: fear, dread, eros(love), harmony(peacefulness), pothos(longing), anteros(rejection), himeros(pleasure) and revenge-rebeliousness(Adrestia).

It's not about superficiality. It's about respecting someone's life and preferences. Aphrodite was always deemed a goddess driven by emotions, and the feeling of disrespect towards her field, love, was a straight insult to her.

This marriage was an unhappy one. Hephaestus thought that by bringing precious jewels would be enough for his wife to be loyal. He didn't actually care about her love. He only saw her as a way to be more respected in the pantheon. He was working long hours in his forge, leaving the goddess of love without what she needed the most, LOVE.

And she had found love in her husband's brother. The only god that respected the place of women, who valued consent and always was there for his lovers and children. Ares loved her deeply, because he was a rejected god too. He sought the love he was deprived from his family for eternity.

Forcing is never the option. Hephaestus was not a threat, nor the golden net incident was an act that earned him respect. Being cuckolded in his own bedroom was unfair, but trapping and bringing the lovers to the eyes of the gods was a belittling act, not for the lovers, but for him. He divorced Aphrodite according to many philosophers, but at the end love won and the lovebirds continued to love each other for eternity, bearing more and more children with sentimental natures.

Hephaestus remarried, but at the end he wasn't the victor, because he was the one who forced many people in this ordeal,and still he was unhappy.

Ares and Aphrodite had the most love-based relationship along with Dionysus and Ariadne and Eros and Psyche on Mount Olympus. They loved each other so much that jealousy was a common thing between them. Ares killed Adonis(according to some variations of the myth), and Aphrodite turned Eos into a nymphomaniac because she slept with Ares.

I don't hate Hephaestus, he seemed like a kind and very misunderstood god, but this deed was surely a big L.

At the end, Love amd War go hand by hand!

These two represented the most primal passions of the human kind, to fight and to love.

In the name of love many wars were held, and Ares and Aphrodite thrived in their existence!

Women’s status in relation to their husbands during the Revolutionary era:

“Legal reform, however, did not go so far as to render the civil status of married women equal to that of their husbands. This radical proposal, initiated by the legislator Jean-Jacques-Régis de Cambacérès, was definitively rejected by the Convention in 1793. So even at the revolutionary high water mark, the legal standing of married women still remained contingent to a certain extent on the will and consent of their husbands.”

Divorce and other rights in the New Regime:

“By abolishing in 1791 guild restrictions imposed by the former regime, revolutionary legislators opened all professions, including publishing and printing, to women, as long as their husbands (if they were married) consented. Prescriptive primogeniture was abolished and divorce legalized in September of 1792.”

***Divorce was legalized in September 1792, but abolished in 1816 during the Restoration after the fall of Napoleon.

Women’s status in relation to their husbands under the Old Regime:

That’s what I was asking myself before I did it, but now, hearing the question out loud, it was even more complicated to answer it. For the moment I felt like I could trust him with this secret, but now I realized it was a way to give me courage. Yes, the papers were already signed before he got here, but my mind couldn’t fully process that my marriage was officially done.

“Don’t think I did it so you could feel better about this situation. Or to give you any hints. You brought this up in our conversation and I had the need to let you know.”

Saying that I was on cloud nine would not compare to the feelings I had at that moment. I closed the door of the office behind me, hoping it was not a dream. When I was close to the lobby, I heard a very familiar voice – it was Corey.

We know each other for some time now, so we were no strangers. I can’t count how many concerts or tours we did together.

“Happy to see you, man. Yeah, Motionless signed with Lexus today. We will be here a lot.”

I could feel how weird it was for the both of us. Lexus’s now ex-husband talking with her ex-friend with benefits.

“Congrats, but be careful, she will work the shit out of you.”

The whole thing was weird, and I waited patiently for him to leave me alone. But then I was stricken by a question – why was Corey here? I was trying to find something else to say, maybe to find the answer to this question, but I was glad he did it first.

“Well, I have to go now, need to get some documents from Lexus. But actually, I wanted to talk to you for a long time.”

“Talk about out?”

“There’s a lot to say, and I don’t want to risk being heard by Lexus. How about meet me at the café around the corner in 10 minutes?”

“Sure, I’ll see you there.”

He went towards Lexus’s office without adding anything else. There was nothing in my mind about what he wanted us to talk about. I get that he is upset, maybe angry with this situation, but I hoped he was not blaming their divorce on me.

While I was waiting in the café, my mind made a lot of bad scenarios. What if he thinks she cheated on him with me? Does he know we lost contact for years, way before they got married? “But she said that you both agreed to divorce. Because things were not working out between you two.”

“If it was for me, I would’ve never divorced her. I love her and our daughter with my whole being. She was the only one who thought this was the only solution.”

As I was hearing two completely different stories, I tried to see which one made more sense. Corey was devastated and even now he talked about Lexus with so much care and love, while she had no feelings left for this man.

“Look, Corey, I’m sorry for this. I never wished something like that would happen to you. The problem is, I truly don’t understand why am I here.”

“Because I analyzed everything from the moment, I met her until now. You know what I noticed? The things that happened between you two are still affecting her to this day.”

“This can’t be possible. In this case, she wouldn’t’ve married you in the first place.”

“She did it because she found in me something you did not have at the time: stability. I told her I wanted to get married, to have kids, and saw in me exactly what she wanted to have with you.”

Apparently, I was implicated in their marriage without knowing it. Maybe not even Lexus acknowledged it. I ran my hand through my hair, thinking how badly I fucked up her life.

“Ricky, listen to me. If you want her back, this time in a serious way, think really good about it first. She has a child now, my child. Fooling around is not something she would do now. Only do it if you are ready to love her and to make her happy. I don’t know if she can go through that pain again.”

“Why do you think she would actually want me back in her life?”

He laughed a little, even though he had tears forming in his eyes.

“Because she never loved me. Yes, she cared about me, but the feeling of love was reserved already by you. She married me thinking she would finally forget you, but apparently, it was not the case. Her heart is still full of you, Ricky.”

After a Texas woman got a positive result on the home-pregnancy test she took in July, she texted two friends to discuss her options, according to a new countersuit.

A trigger law banning all abortions would take effect in her state in August, about two months following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Abortions were already illegal in Texas after the six-week mark. Another law had also made prescribing abortion pills online or mailing them to Texans illegal, which the woman and her friends discussed, the complaint states.

The woman had decided to end the pregnancy, according to the countersuit, filed in the District Court of Galveston County on Monday.

“Not questioning if this is what needs to happen,” she allegedly texted her friends. “I know it does.”

She took abortion medication on July 14, the suit states. Months later, in early March, her ex-husband filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against three women — including the two friends he said she had texted over the summer — whom he accused of being involved “in the murder of his child.”

On Monday, the two women filed a countersuit, alleging that their friend’s ex-husband was aware that his then-wife had wanted to terminate her pregnancy after he “illegally accessed” her phone without consent.

“He wasn’t interested in stopping her from terminating a possible pregnancy,” the countersuit claims.

Attorneys for the two women and the ex-husband did not respond to requests for comment. The ex-wife is not a named party in either lawsuit. Under Texas law, a pregnant patient who has an abortion cannot face criminal, civil or administrative liability or penalties.

The husband filed the original wrongful death lawsuit on March 9 in Galveston County, Tex.

In the suit, he alleged that the two friends assisted in “murdering [the] unborn child with illegally obtained abortion pills” that were acquired from a third woman. The complaint claims that the wife hid the pregnancy and had a medication abortion “without [his] knowledge or consent.”

The married couple finalized their divorce in February. The husband’s complaint states that he brought the lawsuit after he had “recently learned of the defendants’ involvement in the murder of his child.” His lawsuit was among the first of its kind since Roe v. Wade was overturned, the Texas Tribune reported.

On July 12, the husband allegedly dug through his wife’s purse without her knowledge, according to the countersuit. He found a Post-it note with the number for an abortion clinic, and he read messages on her phone between her and her two friends about her “possible pregnancy and her desire to terminate it,” according to the document, citing a police report he later filed.

The next day, he looked through his wife’s purse again, the countersuit alleges.

This time, according to the friends’ countersuit, he found a small white pill labeled “MF” and learned it was mifepristone, which can be taken to terminate an early pregnancy. The friends allege that he placed the medication back in her purse and did not say anything to her about it that day.

The wife took the abortion medication the following day, on July 14, the countersuit states. Four days later, he went to the League City Police Department to file a report about his wife’s “intent to terminate the possible pregnancy,” according to a photo of the incident report that was included in the countersuit. The man also told police he had “accessed [his wife’s] phone without her permission,” the countersuit alleges, citing the police report.

The League City Police Department did not respond to a request for comment.

After talking with police, the husband began to “threaten and try to control” his then-wife about the medication, according to the countersuit. His wife allegedly texted her friends to say: “So basically because I didn’t tell him in the first place that I was in that position he’s using it against me.”

The countersuit alleges that the husband threatened to have his wife “‘thrown in jail’ if she did not give herself to him ‘mind body and soul.’”

The friends’ lawsuit accuses the husband of violating Texas’s Harmful Access by Computer Act by reading the messages between his ex-wife and the two women, as well as taking screenshots of the correspondence without their permission.

The legislation allows Texans to sue those who have accessed a computer, computer network or computer system that they own without their consent. When the husband allegedly accessed his wife’s phone, he harmed the two friends, the countersuit claims, causing them to “suffer damages and losses.”

The countersuit also argues that the husband violated the friends’ right to privacy when he allegedly read their conversations with his then-wife.

You hadn’t realized how similar you were until people started comparing you to one another.

Then, you two started to be around each other more. So, it was just a formality to be friendly, right?

That’s what led you both up to this point. You were sitting in Gaz’s office, sliding a cup of tea over to him while you held your own in your hand.

“Gaz, you won’t believe what I heard while scouting today.” You said before taking a sip of your hot drink.

Gaz leaned forward slightly, listening closer to you. “Go on.” He said.

“Ok, so,” you started with a slight grin, “while I was doing professional eavesdropping in that cafe downtown, I heard some lady talking about her husband.”

“That’s always a fun topic.” Gaz smirked before taking a sip of his tea.

“This lady’s husband is a total prick,” you said. “Well, according to her, he is.”

You took another sip before continuing.

“This guy won’t sign divorce papers because he wants to claim the kids on his taxes!” You said, raising your eyebrows.

“What an asshole.” Gaz said, rolling his eyes. “What’s she doing about it?”

“She tried taking his ass to court, as she fucking should.” You said, talking with your hands still.

“But, because of the state she lives in, she can’t get a divorce without his consent!”

“No bloody way.” He gasped.

“I know!” You said, sounding a bit exasperated. “But she has a plan, Gaz. It’s downright dastardly. But I’m totally here for it.”

“You know, though, I do support women’s wrongs, just like I support women’s rights.” you clarified.

Gaz nodded thoughtfully.

“Awright, spill. What’s her plan?” He asked before taking another sip.

“She’s going to get screenshots of his infidelity.” You said. “But you won’t guess who he cheated on her with.”

Gaz leaned forward again, intrigued.

“Who?” He asked, clearly dying to know.

“Her fucking sister.” You said, setting your cup down.

Gaz gasped lightly, setting his cup down, too.

“You’re joking.” He said, tilting his head slightly.

“I’m not.” You said, smiling. “And honestly, Gaz, I support her fully.”

Gaz nodded again, agreeing with your agreement. “No, yeah, she's totally in the right,” he said.

“I know!” you said, picking your cup up again. “I’ve never been more invested in my life. I just hope she’s there next time I go to that cafe.”

Gaz nodded again. “You better keep me updated.” He said.

“Bitch, you know I will.” You replied, rolling your eyes playfully.
