#nocturna (natalia knight)

Ok hear me out please consider what information is actually publicly available to the average Gothamite regarding the death of Jason Todd:
Bruce Wayne lost custody of Jason Todd and was investigated for child abuse in the ensuing custody battle. Full custody went to Natalia Knight. Then Bruce started dating her to regain access to Jason. Very soon after Bruce got Jason back, Natalia died under mysterious circumstances and then soon after that Jason also died under mysterious circumstances.
Let's be real here half of Gotham should think Brucie straight up murdered his son and girlfriend while the other half thinks they faked their deaths to escape.

another instance of jason as robin mimicking bruce but this time it's jason getting over his fear and trying to protect nocturna the way he feels protected by batman. and he truly was there until the end for nocturna (unlike bruce, who didn't get the chance to be there with jason in his final moments)

Jason Todd's iconic moment: accepting Nocturna as his mother when she clearly did shady stuff to get his custody lmao.

"Home," he calls it. Could it be that Bruce Wayne isn't such a poor guardian? Unsual, yes, but if he inspires so much devotion, perhaps there's more to this relationship than meets the eye... Stung, Amanda shrinks into the gloom. Aghast at the results of her "welfare" work."

Jason: If I had a nickel for every time Bruce lost custody of me to one of his rogues I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

I don't really have an issue with "Talia is a mother figure to Jason" stuff but it gets real weird when yall act like Talia just lives to be a part of other characters' stories. Also, if you really wanna give Jason a mom fr, Natalia is right there and I think Jason and Nataila's relationship to one another has way more room for interesting storytelling than Talia and Jason's. Like...I think past the events of Lost Days Talia has very little to do with Jason's day-to-day life. She's more of a mentor than a mother figure to him. Like, fuck Winick but I don't think the solution to the misogyny in lost days is a different form of misogynistic writing.
