ABC News in Australia covers the story of how community groups all over the country are coming together as a community to provide for returning Gazan families.

El Rahman Inc. stands at the forefront of this community effort in Naarm/Melbourne, and on the organisation’s Instagram page, regularly posts updates on what supplies are currently needed. It accepts monetary and supply donations at drop off points (which are currently closed until the 28th Dec).

The PCIA has also been instrumental in organising resources for returning Palestinian families. For more widespread support not limited to Melbourne, please consider donating to the Arab Council of Australia, another independent non-profit which has a long history of supporting their community. They are based in New South Wales, which is home to Australia's largest population of Arabic-speaking Australians.

ABC's news report also highlights that between October 7 and November 20, Home Affairs granted 860 visas to Palestinians, including those seeking to depart Gaza. However, what they fail to give proper attention to is the fact that Israel has been preventing Palestinians from leaving.

Of the around 860 visas distributed, only 143 Palestinians have managed to successfully arrive in Australia, with the number of new names being added to 'the list' falling to a pathetic degree. To understand the grave conditions of Palestinians awaiting safe passage, this is a great article to read. And although politicians like Penny Wong insist they are doing everything in their power to help Palestine in this time, Australia still shamefully stands by its strongest ally, the US, and actively provides military surveillance of the Gaza Strip to Israeli sources through Pine Gap, a military base in Alice Springs.

In this time, it is imperative to maintain pressure on the Australian government. Protest and vocal pro-Palestine movement is the only thing that caused Australia to eventually vote for a ceasefire in the recent UN resolution, after their cowardly performance earlier. Resources like vic_socialists on Instagram, regardless of where you may stand on their performance as a party itself, has been outstanding in organising regular protest movements across all of Victoria. APAN also maintains a list of pro-Palestine events all around Australia on their website, although I'm not sure at this point if it's exhaustive.

recently thought about (read: have been chewing on it for 4 years) the bar scene, when Crowley realizes Aziraphale isn't dead. we've always known that Crowley is a deeply emotional person, and we've seen the ""cool"" veneer break with fury and terror and despair. but it's such a sucker punch when Aziraphale appears, because for ONCE Crowley's desperate with HOPE! and there's nothing more vulnerable than that babeyyy!!! #he's so floppy recently and I hope it's just the heat. I think wamr weather makes everyone floppy and loungy #a beauntifulle boye... #cats #STILL working on posting some drafts. finishing new poll adventure.. other things... It's just hard with the weather and other things going #on. I've had a few more doctors appointments and other things to do recently that have to be done in a time limit #so I hvae to use my extremely limited energy working on that instead of doing the things I'd really rather do. :T #Main focuses though are keeping up better with doing and posting costumes + sculptures as main creative things. at least finishing the #main poll adventure story. Reworking the game I kind of abandoned for a few years. keeping up with game videos and a few other side things. #Especially the game though. I've been in a really worldbuildy mood recently. I just wish that was easier to manifest into something. I've #now put the worldbuilding slideshow reading video on pause for a while because it's SOOO long to do #and I think I should prioritize making games and stuff instead. but still other things. IT's just kind of like.. I have a whole world and #everything very built and planned out but now.. what do I do with it? what's the best way to share that? factual slideshows just going over #the information like a dictionary? make it into a game? write short stories? do art attached to the world? etc. etc. ?? Still rolling why Akari might've been yoinked in my head (mistaken for Dawn? From a wealthy family they ran away from? Clones of former hisuians that escaped and are wanted? Upset a stalker on the subway?) but Rei was with her when it happened since they live together. Akari manages to get Rei to escape with their pikachus (they both have pikachus. Twin pikachus? Maybe.) but gets grabbed as a result. Rei is obviously a wreck and tries to chase after whoever took his twin, but they vanish like dust in the wind and he's left standing in the middle of the street with two upset, sparking mice. He manages to eventually get to the authorities to report her abduction and their home turns into a crime scene. He has to stay at a hotel and he's so dumbstruck by the night that he passes out.

Neither of the younger twins show up in the morning which throws the whole gear station groove off. They've called out sick before, sometimes one and sometimes both, and they've run late, but they've never just not shown up. And never neither of them completely ghosting the station. Everybody is concerned, especially when their phones can't be reached, so someone from the station cuts early to go check on them. And then they call Ingo or Emmet frantic bc the twins' home is a crime scene??? What if they're dead???

Emmet starts blowin up Akari and reis phones while he and Ingo run out bc holy shit the babies??? The kids??? The CRIME SCENE??? They're nearly at the listed residence when Rei picks up, groggy as fuck and voice hoarse. Emmet starts demanding to know what happened and Rei just breaks down into tears, explaining that the home had been broken into the day before and Akari had been taken, had pushed him out of the way so he'd escaped. He's practically hysterical as he goes over it again until Emmet promises that they'll come pick him up and he can stay with him or ingo so he's not alone. Ingo sends a message to the group chat that Akari's been kidnapped and everyone is demanding to know WHAT THE FUCK??? WHAT THE FUCK!!!

Rei gets picked up by the twins and it's weird for all involved that there is one set of twins and not the other. There's a weird empty space by Rei's side even though both shoulders hold a Pikachu. Ingo & Emmet silently guide him out, they go and pick up some of his stuff (clothes, cause he's still in his PJs, tooth brush & tooth paste, etc) and they go to the apartment where Ingo and Emmet live. They don't technically live Together, but their rooms are right next door to each other with a connecting door. They are, after all, Grown Ass Adults who need their own space as much as they're a set. Ingo is the only one with a spare room so Rei settles his stuff there, and then he crashes again while the twins try to figure out what they're going to do (bc like hell are they going to let this go unchecked and let the authorities handle it on their own??? Fuck no, that's their family, their employee, their kid. They're gonna get her back.)

Watched the new color purple with my brother and my mom for her birthday yesterday (it's literally New Year's Eve), and my brother and I keep looking at each other and whispering let's go lesbians every time Shug and Ceile were on screen together. And then exchanging looks of (excited) disbelief at the on-screen kiss between the two. That happened, mind you, after I jokingly said to him, "they should kiss," not believing it would happen.

really grateful for al lthe half life expansions bc the blakc mesa incident as a whole is really interesting to me and the way stuff is laid out kind of. covers everything. blue shift you play as an escaping security guard, some scientists escape with you, and it happens early on in the incident. half life is scientist POV, going from trying to get help to trying to save the world, and covers a lot of the big events that happened mid-incident. opposing force is military POV, and covers the end of the incident - escape is attempted but failed.

this is so awesome to my brain. full timeline showcase. the very beginning of the aftermath is the only thing really missing, as both gorodn and barney are knocked out for some period of time, but half life echoes (mod) does this for them so its ok..

ppl all like ‘giratina is clearly based off the serpent in the garden of e.den because obviously s.atan is the only mythological evil serpentine creature EVER’ and like, sure, think that all you want if you want to be boring and stick to a single mostly western viewpoint but maybe instead consider: the Ōmukade, a mythical monstrous version of the real mukade (Scolopendra Subspinipes, typically). it’s big and violent and has a habit of personally antagonizing dragons. (of which type palkia and dialga are, for example! (: makes the twist at the end of PL:A make even more sense, imo. what better way to drive those ancient divine dragons into a frenzy than team up with a giant angry centipede to torment them?)

my understanding from what admittedly very brief research I’ve done, Ōmukade and mukade themselves represent impurity, decay, death, etc etc. very much the same way giratina is meant to be the opposite of the ‘pure’ arceus, who’s associated with creation and life.

even the colors are very similar!!!! it has a black body, gold legs, and red head. all those colors are there in Giratina’s design. the gold crescents on giratina even resemble the centipede’s legs! giratina’s stripes could resemble the centipede’s segmented body as well, if you squint. as for shiny giratina’s coloring... I’m not entirely certain what that’s all about, but it does kind of remind me of Scolopendra Morsitans? If only for the bright yellow and teal coloration they can have.
