“O Mine Enemy” by KirbyLane
That’s the first post of a blog which was supposed to be empty but I suppose it was worth the exception…
Just finished reading this incredible Severitus story. What an amazing journey, it left me speechless.
And when a story left me speechless, I feel the urge to make a cover/front page for it. It’s kind of a homage you might say.
So there it is, hope you’ll like it. (Open the pic for better resolution)
I found this beautiful fan-art on the web and immediately feel in love with it but unfortunately I don’t know the author. If you know, feel free to tell.
Anyway, there it is the summary of this story that you can find on AO3:
When Harry find an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort’s latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer, unless the two can find a way to work together.
A slow-burn-enemy-to-mentor story
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post Order of the Phoenix, ignores Half Blood Prince and Deahtly Hallows.
No slash, no romance.
Hope you’ll give it a shot, you won’t regret it.

Went on a transandrophobia truther blog and instantly saw this ..
1) love the slight of hand where he says "being trans" instead of actually identifying any positionality or god forbid mentioning WOMANHOOD as a type of positionality in his post which allows him to call trans women men and completely disregard the experience of the closested trans WOMAN. Telling that your argument hinges on "after transitioning to a man I am exactly the same as a woman undercover as a man"
2) just say you're not on T and you don't know anyone who is. Like as someone who's passed as male on an off for my whole life and now fully passes as male all the time thanks to T I low key snorted reading this... Liiike let's be for real here passing as a man (and doubly so if u are binary and have the pronouns to match) and passing gives you privilege out the fucking wazoo and I literally think about it every time I leave the house, meet new people, take blue collar jobs, interact w people on public transit, walk around at night, go to gay clubs, bond w male overseers, look for roommates, etc. This is obviously extremely racialized as much as it is gendered, but there is literally not a single "privilege" I had as a girl (that was assumed to be a guy 50-70% of the time) that I lost as a guy.
3) Also how do trans men "inherently defy patriarchal manhood" I literally know a trans guy who went to jail for domestic violence against a woman like trans men are incredibly capable of accessing and enacting patriarchy and thinking ourselves justified in accessing patriarchal homosociality. Like we are literally becoming men and we don't just magically exit the patriarchal society because we aren't the men at the top of the make food chain.... a la R.W. Connel. Being trans men means we lose some for being trans but we win some because we are men. Like gay men are frequently denied their masculinity but it would be dodo brained to act like gay men have no male homosociality they can access or that no gay man has ever accessed male homosociality. Like if u believe that you actually don't know any gay history Attttt Alllllll 😭 like genuinely. We also earn more money per dollar than women in our same gender modality, that doesn't sound like "inherently defying patriarchal manhood" to me that sounds actually like a pretty typical social positionality for oppressed and marginalized men. Like in my own friend groups, at school, and in my music and promotions scene being an (openly trans) man actually has granted me actually a lot of homosociality that I can draw on.

There are so many people on here I would like to talk to or be friends with, but I have no idea how to make friends on tumblr so I will just sit here and silently like posts and leave with my tail tucked between my legs and pouting

Once I wrote McDanno meta about 2x08, I mean, about how I saw watching Enemy mine as not only McDanno watching a movie together and arguing about it but first and foremost as Steve using this movie to test the waters. To test if Danny would be ok with being in love (and physically) with him:
That was a time when I didn't know Enemy mine. I just only knew that scene they were talking about.
Yesterday I finally watched the movie. And now... I still see what I saw then. Oh, I'm even more sure about that. And I see more and more. It's not only Steve using a pregnant dude to find out Danny's views. And it's not only Steve who watches this movie having McDanno vibes in heart!
I mean... I think I know why Danny loves this movie so much. Why he cries. Why he talks about friendship and devotion and sacrifice. Because he sees there himself and Steve. And I think that Steve sees the same. Steve is like Davidge. Danny is like Jerry (the Drac). Davidge and Jerry and their relationship's arc... Gosh. It's all the same. When Davidge meets Jerry there is, well, hate. Yeah. Hate and... guns 😂 But soon they're both fascinated with each other. Soon there is a great friendship and loyalty and honesty and bickering and all what McDanno has. Davidge can't imagine life without Jerry (and vice versa). Just like Steve can't imagine his life without Danno (and Danno without Steve). Davidge is an uncle to Jerry's baby. Steve is the same to Gracie. Jerry wants Davidge to be a second father to his baby - yeah, we heard Danny wanting the same with Steve and Gracie. And sometimes... Davidge looks at Jerry in so adorable way, with so much love and there is even that line when he jokes about them (him and Jerry) making that baby together. They're so... married. Just like McDanno.
So I think that Danny is so touched in that scene not only because he just loves all these tropes: friendship, sacrifice, love... I think that he is so touched because he KNOWS it. So damn well. He HAS it all. He FEELS it all. And maybe he thinks "Shit, I love my Ninja so much...". Maybe when he watches dying Jerry... he cries cause he can't even imagine losing Steve (or Steve losing him). Maybe he cries because he's happy that Steve is in his life. Steve always doing all for him. All for him and Gracie. Maybe... Maybe Danny fears that there is some sacrifice. Maybe he fears that when he says "I love you, in a very romantic way" then it will ruin their friendship. And that something will die. His heart will die like... Jerry's. I know that Danny knows that Steve is a very good guy and that he would never leave Danny but... Fears are fears. And it's season 2, still the beginning of their relationship.
And speaking about Steve. I think that he sees the same. He knows well why the movie is touching. He even says that he likes that movie. But he provokes, he provokes and pretends just to... learn more about Danny and Danny's feelings. He is curious what Danny sees. And yup, he uses alien case to see how much open-minded is Danny 😉
Oh, now that movie is so different. Now, when they have each other. It's not that cool sci-fi movie from their childhood anymore. It's the movie... about them.

Just in time for the holidays!
Thought it’d be fun to take a shot at designing Sonic’s possible mom.
Not so much a “headcanon” as it is fanfiction, but I thought it’d be neat if Sonic had a mom that was a blackbelt martial artist of the fictional skill, “Steel Quill.”
It’s a technique in which you train your mind and body be embody steel, in this case, you train yourself to the point where your quills are like tungsten.
Birn (short for Birnadette- yeah I just changed the spelling) is able to use her quills like knives/projectiles, able to slice through metal like its nothing. The downside? You’re heavier, so Steel Quill folk aren’t great swimmers.
Birn is extremely well-versed in physical fitness, covered head to toe in weighted accessories (to keep sharp, of course). Though while her specialty is weight training, Sonic’s partial to aerobics. .. Running.
