How did you come about your kintypes that are original species? :>

For Beastpup (my kintype/fictotype that's sort of an original thing) it happened in a few stages, and this ask is neat since I get to provide pictures as examples!

So the first iteration is the little gremlin on the left side of this image. In a weird way I'm an AU version of Mono, but that's convoluted and probably not too relevant to this ask. The important part is that one of Mono's forms I designed was this:

This form was inspired by all 3 of my existing kintypes:

Wolf as the base

Drom's feathers and sickle claws

Ammy's spikes and horns

Major resemblance but that's not where the fictotype thing started yet. Fast forward a few years later and I want a kinsona, something I can draw that'll easily represent all of my kintypes at once. So I go "hey, there's that one thing I drew, lemme recycle that". After a bunch of refining, that's how you get this version.

That was all before my fictotype randomly sprouted and the whole parallel life happened (that I go into a little bit here), so it was like "surprise! turns out you actually do look like this". It was just a wacky sequence of events that led to how I look. The closest other example of this that I experienced was when I knew I was a black-phased wolf before I knew that was an actual color wolves came in. I thought I just made it up until someone pointed out to me that was a real pelt color.

The last part about the previous picture example is that it's not all that accurate to how I-as-Beastpup look. It is mostly accurate, which is impressive, but it is missing some key things. I'll dig out a WIP version of my new ref for this:

I'm a monster-wolf specifically, which in my case means that I'm a hybrid between a wolf and 2 unknown soul donors. After going through soul splicing (source thing), I looked less like a wolf and more like a wolf-based-generic-beast (hence the name Beastpup). A few feline characteristics, more chonky/stocky, and most notably my 5-fingered paw hands with scutes.

And that's what's behind my fictotype! Both design-wise and sequentially. Basically a long set of dominoes.
