hoshi + cuddling

'i feel fine, really! i'm not sic-' right at that soonyoung sneezes loudly, almost jumping out of the bed. he falls back on it with a loud groan, covering his face with a pillow.

'right, you're not sick at all,' you deadpan, rolling your eyes. you reach over for the salt and pepper, turning to look at him: 'bless you. you want me to add more black pepper or salt?'

'salt,' he replies, sneezing again. 'god, this is awful.'

you add the salt and then check the taste of the soup, nodding to yourself. 'soup is ready, come out.'

soonyoung says that he fell sick two days ago, but you suspect that in reality he felt off for an entire week, managing to somehow stove off the inevitable by being extra busy. you should have known, really, from the first bell when you two facetime'd each other and he had a runny nose. his stubbornness sometimes knows no limits and arguing with him about this leads to nothing, so you go along with his 'it's been only two days, i promise!' with a long sigh and a reluctant nod. carefully you place the bowl on the table, also putting the kettle on. 'tea with a lemon sounds good?' you ask loudly. you pause as no reply comes out within the next seconds. 'soonyoung?'

'come here please!' he calls.

you walk towards the bedroom and find your boyfriend wrapped in the blanket in a burrito way, only his head can be seen. his pout is more visible than anything else though - soonyoung hates being sick, hates feeling useless and especially hates when he can't spend time with you cause he doesn't want you to get sick as well. you shake your head fondly, stopping right at the door, leaning on it. taking care of soonyoung is not an easy task considering how he despises chicken soups and taking pills, but after battling one flu with him, you now consider yourself a professional at it. at the sight of you soonyoung lights up like a christmas tree and you can't be mad at him at all when he uses his famous eye smile. you don't move and seeing how you're not coming closer, soonyoung pouts even harder. 'why are you standing so far away?'

'soup is ready, you need to eat something,' you say instead of replying to his question.

'come cuddle me first.'

'you haven't eaten anything since you woke up,' you press, not moving. it is hard to do so, when he looks so cute all wrapped up like burrito, but someone has to be responsible. 'eat first, soonyoung.'

'cuddle me first.' he repeats, reminding you again who is the king of stubbornness here. in order to make his point even clearer, he opens up the blanket and moves to the left side of the bed, making space for you. 'right here.'

arguing with him is a losing game. you know it, you knew it from the start but you still are trying to be stern, not wanting to give in this time too. you frown, taking one step closer. 'but you really need to eat.'

soonyoung's expression softens and he smiles gently, tapping place next to him. 'i will eat after cuddles, i promise,' he assures you in a serious tone and then smiles, opening the blanket even more: 'now come here, please.'

admitting defeat, you shuffle towards him and smile, when he sighs in satisfaction as bed dips under your weight. you don't even have time to get comfortable before he wraps around you like an octopus, blocking you any route to escape. plastering his chest to your back, soonyoung giggles happily, tucking his face into your neck. his arms loop around your waist and he makes sure to intertwine your legs as well. it's not the most comfortable position for you at first, but you relax as he starts pressing small kisses on your neck, mumbling how good you smell.

'this is so nice,' he lets out, content. 'thank you.'

your hands rest on top of his and you smile secretly; soonyoung's warmth is something you also missed during last two days so being back in his arms feels like coming home. his breathing tickles a little but it feels so familiar that your eyes close on their own accord. 'do not let us fall asleep,' you mumble, pressing closer to him.

'no promises here,' he mouths into your neck, yawning. 'missed having you like this.' soonyoung hands get under your t-shirt and rest gently on your stomach, caressing it. 'let's just stay like that, please?'

there's so much longing in his voice that rejecting him feels like a crime; you nod and he kisses your neck once more before relaxing. laying in his arms like that you don't think about any of the errands that you are supposed to do, choosing to concentrate on him instead; how each part of your bodies seems to be connected, how warm it feels, how you instantly feel less anxious. you turn your head to the side and peck his nose, making him smile. 'love you,' you whisper before turning back.

'you're too cute,' he mumbles, tightening his hold. 'i love you too.'

a/n: don't come at me but i genuinely hate spooky season so nothing on halloween theme will be written, have a cute hoshi instead!!

Akaashi's already outside with the others by the time Bokuto finally exits the spa.

They've been waiting here a while. The warm air has almost completely dried Akaashi's damp skin and hair.

He closes his eyes, raises his face to the bright sun and inhales deeply, filling his lungs with the fresh mountain air. Its the kind of place that people come to relax, surrounded by the tall trees and trickling water and singing birds. 

Or Akaashi imagines that's what it would be like if he were in different company. 

But he can't hear the trickling water or the singing birds over the raucous debate Hinata and Kageyama are having about which sea creatures they would pick for their marine volleyball dream team and whether either of them should be allowed to have the octopus. 

And maybe it would have been relaxing if they hadn't been with Bokuto who insisted on just a bit more time - just another 5 minutes with the masseuse, just another 10 minutes in the steam room, just another 15 minutes in the bath - until they were so hopelessly behind schedule that there was no longer a schedule. 

Kenma had long ago given up waiting and had gone to sit on a nearby rock to drink the strawberry milk that Kuroo had procured for him, whilst Kuroo muttered complaints about that damn owl from beneath his mess of floppy hair. 

They’ve been waiting for Bokuto for so long that Hinata and Kageyama have almost picked their entire team - though the disagreement about the octopus remains to be settled - and Akaashi is on the cusp of marching back in to find and drag Bokuto out himself when he hears the whoosh of the sliding door.  

His eyes snap open and he turns to face the door. 

Bokuto strides out of the spa towards them, arms raised above his head as he stretches lazily whilst in motion. Eyes closed, nose crinkled, a huge smile on his face. 

And, most distractingly of all, his hair isn't spiked into its signature look but instead rests loosely atop his head. The grey and black strands falling forwards, framing his face.  

Akaashi's heart skips a beat.

Though saying it skips makes it sound more gentle of an experience than it actually is. It's much less a skip and much more of a sharp and sudden drop. Like when you slip whilst walking down the stairs and it sends your heart plummeting into your knees and your pulse racing as you try to grab onto the hand rail in a desperate attempt to save yourself from falling. 

It's not as though Akaashi hasn't seen Bokuto with his hair down before. Of course he's seen it get wet when they've showered together, and it's briefly down before and after they go to sleep during training camps. But it's not long before Bokuto plasters it back into his signature look with unnerving amounts of gel, so the sight of him with his hair down properly like this is a rare, and special, moment. 

A moment that presents Akaashi with a Bokuto different than the one that he's become so familiar with; the one who blazes with the intensity of the midday sun in a way that leaves Bokuto imprints on Akaashi's retinas so that the image remains even when he closes his eyes.  In this moment, Bokuto looks younger and more innocent, and there's a tenderness about him... like he's made out of a kind of softness that Akaashi struggles to put a name to. 

This is a softness like the mellow rays of the rising sun that trickle in through the curtain and bathes Akaashi's body in its golden light.

Like a cool afternoon breeze that lightly caresses his skin.

Like the way a particularly good pencil gliding over smooth paper fills him with a sense of deep satisfaction, or the way sipping on honey and lemon tea soothes his aching body, or the way finishing a beloved book leaves his soul glowing.

It's the way that Bokuto Kōtarō’s name sounds in his mouth.

It’s the way that Bokuto Kōtarō feels in his heart.

I kissed a sea cucumber once

My hair used to go past my waist and that was the only thing people remembered about me for a while

I've gone by the nickname "Fish" since I was six. I often make up a bullshit explanation when asked about that, but the true origin is that I really like fish.

I was a tapeworm for Halloween when I was 10 (I really liked tapeworms too).

I ate a live octopus on the beach while my grandmother watched on in disapproval.

I like to go running in jeans

I hate bananas. Always have. As a kid I would lie and say that I was allergic because no one took my aversion to them seriously and they'd try to trick me to eat them.

Somewhere, there's a CD of 11 year old me singing Dani California by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and I don't know where it is and sometimes that stresses me out.

When I was a kid, I would sit in one of the trees outside the house and eat a whole lemon every day after school.

I'm an anthropology major and I don't know if I'm allowed to say I was in STEM. I did a lot of biology, chemistry, and math to get that degree but some people get weird if you call it a science. I don't know.

sharing something a little different this time - the opening bit of my provisionally titled "Remus just fully and wholly obsessed with anything Sirius does" WIP (aka Remus meets an old friend in a club and catches them up about his sexy long-term boyfriend, and the highlights of their relationship). SO. HERE GOES.

Remus Lupin knew fully well he was a weak, weak man when it came to Sirius Black – but at least he was self-aware about it. He hated clubbing. Hated the smell and the stickiness of sweat and beer, and getting pushed around by stumbling, drunk strangers, and the harsh beat of contemporary music. He loved Sirius much more than he hated anything else, though, and that’s how he found himself leaning over the balustrade of their (Sirius’s) favourite club with a strong drink in hand, staring down at the pulsating mass of bodies on the dancefloor below, his boyfriend lost somewhere in the faceless crowd. He’d much rather be doing literally anything else right now – working on his Paradise Lost essay, or lounging on the couch with Bean, their cat, or sleeping, or doing the Sirius in question, yet here he was. He hated clubbing, but Sirius had come home late last week after a night out with James and Marlene and accidentally woken him up. He'd wrapped himself around Remus’s back like an octopus, freshly showered and smelling of lemon body wash and coconut shampoo and home, pressing apologetic kisses and whispered apologies into the nape of Remus’s neck. Remus had turned sideways in his arms, all thoughts of sleep forgotten now that Sirius was home and safe and back with him, and offered up more skin for Sirius to press his lips to as he asked how his night had been. Sirius had complained that he’d missed his sexy tree of a boyfriend, lips pressed to the hollow of Remus’s throat, and batted his pretty, pretty eyelashes as he begged for Remus to join him next time. And how was Remus supposed to say no to that, really?

I had an idea but I’m not sure I’m going to write it so I’ll throw it out into the void for y’all: PULLEYVERSE SOULMATE AU IN WHICH YOU GET A SYMBOL FOR YOUR SOULMATE (POSSIBLY APPEARS AT THE YOUNGEST’S BIRTH OR GAIN COLOUR WHEN YOU FIRST MEET) (SPOILERS FOR pretty much ALL PULLEYVERSE NOVELS) (feel free to use and write/draw/etcetera but please tell/link me because I WANT TO SEE)

Thaniel Steepleton who’s born with a mark spanning from shoulder to calf, a mess of gears and clocks and octopus legs (???) and lemons and random objects (that suddenly become clear the more time he spends with Mori because they relate to his clairvoyance) (his mark takes up so much of his skin because isn’t he just an ordinary man, isn’t Mori his everything?) (he gains a little lightbulb for Six once they “adopt” (cough kidnap cough) her and it moves around wherever she wants; even Mori’s mark makes way for hers because isn’t he the man who would do anything for those he loves?)

Keita Mori who doesn’t get his mark until decades after his birth but who isn’t bothered by it because he knows his soulmate already, and when it comes it’s morse code and piano keys and a single pocketwatch on a chain over his heart (his mark is only over his heart (and small in comparison to Thaniel’s) because hasn’t he held the memories of Thaniel close to his chest ever since he’s been alive, isn’t he the reason he loves and the reason he still lives? His beating heart personified?) (His mark for Six is also a little lightbulb that usually hangs behind his ear on a chain until she decides to make a game of it when she’s bored and rolls a die to decide where it will move next)

Merrick Tremayne who thinks he’s soulmate-less for the first several years of his life before he realises that there’s a spot of grey on the bottom of one of his feet; as he ages it grows up his leg and darkens in colour. He thinks it’s a coincdence that it’s the leg that gets crippled (even if twelve-year-old Keita couldn’t bear looking at it) until decades later Mori confesses that it was the only way to stop him from running after Clem. The last day he ever spends with Raphael it is indistinguishable from true stone; he dies with a rosary held in grey hands.

Raphael who is bonded with the whole Tremayne bloodline; he has a mark for Harry and then one for Merrick’s father (whose name I forgot) and then one for Merrick himself (the marks disappear when the person dies, so sometimes they overlap when father and son are both alive, but how much of it does Raphael really witness, because of his “sleep paralysis”?); he ends with all of them carved into his skin when he fully becomes a markayuq and they all form one big picture (insects and spiders for Harry, tree bark Merrick’s dad (relating to the storybook and the sketch of Raphael in the tree), the leaves of whitewood trees for Merrick)

Missouri Kite with the mark of a lighthouse and two pillars that bursts into colour when he meets Jem Castlereagh, that instantly loses colour and recolours when Jem turns into Joe Tournier, and loses colour again when Joe leaves. Until he finds Joe Zhang, and he never loses colour again.

Joe Tournier with the mark of a lighthouse and two pillars but is confused as to why it’s coloured (he figures that he met them when he was young or something, or tries to reason with himself that it’s Alice’s); Jem Castlereagh knowing immediately once he meets Kite; and Joe Zhang, who learns he has the words Dearest Joe, Come home, if you remember. M branded into his mind, and finally decides that he can’t leave Kite again

Konstantin Shenkov with rusty streaks the backs of his hands, tinged with frostbite, and tiny text wrapping around his wrists that he can only read with a magnifying glass (it’s some stuff about nuclear things that he thinks came straight out of a textbook and doesn’t fully understand until he meets Valery)

Valery Kolkhanov with all of his veins and arteries lined in black; they all end on his back in an untangleable knot (he traces them and retraces them with his fingers and it’s what gets him through prison, the small joy of knowing that his soulmate is coded into his blood, even if he’ll only be a burden to them) (he doesn’t notice until Shenkov notices but in the knot on his back are the names of Shenkov’s children)

BAD: has completely pitch black skin and hair that absorbs all light; his eyes, inner mouth, and tongue are all pure white and always visible, even in the dark, but they don’t glow or give off any light; if he closes his eyes and his mouth, it looks like he doesn’t have a face; can heightshift; when he gets angry and starts yelling, his voice will get distorted and sometimes even cut out

SKEPPY: has a hard diamond shell and a soft fleshy interior; only has 4 fingers on each hand

JACK MANIFOLD: was completely human before his death, but is now more of a reanimated corpse; wounds take much, much longer to heal; hair doesn’t grow back

Dream SMP Recap (February 21/2021) - Tommy’s Visit, Guard Training Day

It’s the day for Tommy’s final prison visit, one last visit to see Dream and gain closure. Things don’t go exactly to plan, though, and the situation takes a turn for the worse...

Jack Manifold and Quackity discuss business plans, Eret returns to start collecting taxes, and Sam decides it’s about time to get some helping hands, getting Bad and Antfrost on the job.

- Foolish works on building HBomb a giant mansion in the savannah village.

--- Tommy’s Prison Visit ---

- Tommy comes online to visit Dream one last time in prison, for closure. Even though Dream is locked up and out of sight, he still feels miserable, a little bit empty.

“I think it’s because I haven’t shut the book. He’s still in my life, y’know?”

- He heads over to the prison. He is greeted by photos of BBH and Rat. The pictures George put on the entrance are still there.

- Tommy comes through to the lobby and greets Sam. Sam asks the questions.

“When was the last time you visited the prison?” 

“A bit ago...like a while back. A month. A month ago.”

“Where is your place of residence currently located?”

“My home over there, down yonder. The hotel. The Big Innit Hotel, Sam.”

“Do you believe that the prisoner is deserving of being locked up?”

“Yes, yeah, I absolutely do. I think he’s a wrongen. I don’t think he deserves death, though. I should make that very clear. I don’t think he deserves death.”

“What are your prior relations with the prisoner?” 

“I think he’s a bastard, he’s ugly, and um...I’d say...We manipulated one another. He...he manipulated me, kind of a bit of the villain, kind of an evil guy, kind of the ‘Dr. Octopus’ of the Dream SMP universe.”

- Tommy puts his items in the locker and they go through.

- Tommy comments on how every traumatic place he’s been in has been made of blackstone.

- Tommy doesn’t need to see Dream, “Unless one of my close friends dies...”

- They make it to the lava wall. The lava descends, and Tommy enters the cell.

- They greet each other. Dream’s lost his clock since the last time Tommy visited, and Tommy cracks a joke.

Dream: “That’s the Tommy I know...”

Dream throws Tommy some potatoes to regen health.

- Dream says he’s happy that Tommy came to visit. It’s been a while. Tommy tells him that it’s his last time visiting. Dream asks why, and insists that he’ll get out eventually.

- Tommy asks about the crying obsidian. Dream explains that it’s a security measure, and he likes to watch it drip.

- Tommy says it’s his last visit again, and the conversation grows more tense as they argue about exile, and Tommy says that he can’t even go into plains biomes now without trembling.

- Tommy then asks about the books he asked Dream to write, to which Dream replies that he burned them.

- Tommy opens the chest and sees the thank you letters. Tommy asks if Dream knows anything about the Egg. Dream doesn’t know much about it.

- The subject of it being Tommy’s final visit comes up again, and Tommy tells Dream that he doesn’t want him in his life anymore, that he ruined L’manburg and almost killed Tubbo.

Dream: “I did bad things, but...everybody thinks they’re right from their perspective.”

Tommy: “That’s not true. That’s not true!”

Dream: “I think I’m right. I did bad things but I did them for good reasons, but I’ve learned, I’ve...I did bad things and I’ve learned that I shouldn’t have done them.”

Tommy: “What good reasons? No, please, enlighten us.”

Dream: “I just wanted a...I just wanted to bring the server together, have it be...a happy family, y’know?”

Tommy: “Bring the server t-- you f-- Dream, you blew up L’manburg, Dream. You tried killing me! You tried killing everyone! You tried hurting people’s loved ones, man, it’s like what the fuck! You’re delusional, man, and I’m fucking sick of it. And I...but I don’t need to go through any of this stress anymore, alright? Because this is me doing this to me now, not you. You’re fine now, you’re locked up now, you’re a bitch. I’m the one that’s giving me the stress here now...but I’m better than that! I’m better than you, alright? So I’m done here.”

“You ruined my past, Dream, but you will NOT ruin my future.”

- Dream continues to insist that he’s changing. All of a sudden, Tommy hears TNT explosions.

Dream: “Sounds like a security issue.”

- Sam disappears. Tommy calls to be let out.

Tommy: “Dream, it hasn’t been an honor knowing you, but it will be an honor forgetting you.”

- The explosions continue.

- Dream says he wrote the 7-days waiver and thinks this might be a security issue, but he doesn’t know what’s going on.

- Dream and Tommy continue to argue.

Tommy: “I KNOW YOU. You haven’t changed! You’re the fuckin’ monster of this server, alright!? Not the Egg, not anything like this, YOU ARE!”

- Tommy only has one life left, so if he dies in here, then he dies for good. 

(Dying by the lava wall to get out would be a canon death)

- Tommy panics and starts burning Dream’s books in the lava. And the item frame. Dream takes the rest of the books into his inventory.

- Dream hands him a book and says he could write a story.

- Dream continually insists that he’s changed, and that he didn’t have anything to do with the TNT.

Tommy: “You’ve not changed, you’re the same old...you’re evil. You’re just evil.”

- Sam messages saying the prison is on lockdown, and to hang tight.

- Dream hands Tommy more potatoes, but he doesn’t have many left. They’ll have to wait for the automated refill.

- Tommy asks how long it’ll be. Dream guesses up to a week, like the waiver says.

“Oh no...”

Tommy ends his stream there.

---

- Jack logs on to check on the hotel and is confused by where Tommy is. He checks Twitter and finds out that Tommy has been locked in prison. He asks Sam to confirm. Sam tells him that there’s been a security issue and no one is to approach the prison.

- At first, Jack is outraged that his plans have been foiled again. But then he realizes that, with Tommy in prison, he’s now gained ownership of the hotel! He rebrands it to the Big Jack Manifold Hotel.

- Jack goes to rebrand and Sam Nook greets him at the hotel. Sam argues with Jack, not wanting Jack to take ownership.

- Jack speaks with Quackity, telling him that Tommy’s in jail. Quackity talks about how there’s soon to be an established currency: the diamond. Jack agrees to pay two diamonds for leather.

- Eret comes over to the hotel and Quackity and Jack speak with them. They tell Eret about Tommy being in jail. Eret calls it a “hostile takeover of Tommy’s hotel,” but Jack tries to convince him that it was bad for branding for Tommy’s name to be on the hotel.

- Quackity tells Eret that he’s setting up a big gathering for the opening of his business soon.

- Jack and Eret argue about hotel pricing.

- Quackity tells Jack to not be intimidated by competition, and also describes a plan to create a network of easily-accessible roads. He doesn’t like the wooden path, and says that Jack’s hotel would be a good destination for business. 

- Quackity questions what Jack will do when Tommy gets out of prison. Jack insists it will be fine.

- Jack works on rebranding.

- He then speaks with Badboyhalo. Bad finds out about Tommy being in jail and is surprised. Jack theorizes that maybe he tried to break Dream out.

- Bad discusses having a room in the hotel. Jack asks for payment.

- Eret comes up with a plan to tax the shit out of everyone.

- Sam starts stream at the prison. He doesn’t know what the explosions were.

- He calls for Bad and Ant, as he’s going to make them guards. They’re part of the Badlands and he trusts them.

- The two arrive. Sam fills them in: Tommy came to visit Dream, as he had already 2 or 3 times, and there was TNT going off near the prison. He needs to figure out what’s happening, but he can’t leave the prison and he can’t be in every place at once, which is where the guards come in.

- He opens Locker 2 since Locker 1 still has Tommy’s stuff in it. Sam then starts filling them in on what each lever does.

- Sam walks them through navigating the prison and then shows them the guard-specific areas like the locker room and stasis chamber.

- Sam then shows them the spawn traps. Ant and Bad set their spawns. Each guard gets three full sets of Netherite, three chances to stop whatever security issue may arise.

- At the end of the next tunnel is something top secret that can’t be showed on-stream. 

- He also shows the chest with the waivers, including Ranboo’s in Enderman.

- Sam declares Ant and Bad officially guards. They are happy to finally be employed. Sam says he’s not paying them anything except the satisfaction of knowing they’ll be helping to keep Dream in there.

- Sam, Bad and Ant find Eret’s tax request.

- Ranboo works on building a farm, starting his farmer arc.

- There’s a secret message spelled out in his inventory that reads: “HE IS IN CON(T)ROL.”

here is what I would do if left in charge of animal crossing new horizons update:

make a calamari recipe for when u catch octopus or squid i dont remember which its made out of. also steamed lobster and fried shimp like why is this not a thing? bc u dont have a learn recipe animation while swimming?? NOT my problem.

add new bugs fish and sea creatures. 10 each MINUMUM.

no new art tho bc its fucking impossible to finish that part of the museum everytime i would get close to completing the whole thing like 5 species missing i would still be like 30% completed in the art gallery alone

bring back lemons. add limes, new flowers, new bushes, a new plant type to grow like idk clovers or smth, maybe even a new TREE?!?!

add more to swimming idk maybe u can grab recipes underwater? add an npc whos wearing one of those deep sea divers uniforms. swimming is kinda bland and theres not much else to see out there. maybe add like kapp'n riding his boat outside of the guidelines like where u see pascal, and other little details like that. also make swimming and treading water 10% faster.

add two new villager personality types and species. i would prefer more but im trying to be reasonable here. one of them needs to be bats.

that idea i saw where someone was sad blathers always wants to buy fossils for his collection, so have him out at night sometimes in a fake mustache who buys them off of u. maybe he can buy art too idk. also make him and brewster gay like canonically.

add a kinda city hub, like maybe u can fly to a giant mall-airport combo and gracie is there and stuff. bc someone else said this but since theres no city-like area new horizons island feels kinda empty. having an airport resort area would still fit the theme this way.

A complete, very long list of all GBoard-combinable emojis because I can't find one anywhere.

Ok so for those who haven't seen my stuff (or have only seen my Bionicle posts), I sometimes emoji mashup redraws, with the recent fourth one using GBoard-based fusions. Frustratingly, there's no actual list of fusion-compatible emojis, so I'll attempt to compile them, in a list below the "Read More" thing:

Green/▢ = compatible with fusion Blue/△ = only works with certain emojis Red/◯ = not compatible with fusion

Also, since other people's terms for specific emojis might not match up with mine, I recommend using CTRL+F and then doing this to find the specific emoji you're looking for. This list is in the order presented in GBoard's Emoji menu. Some of them will be generic unicode symbols, I don't know how to change that, sorry for the inconvenience.
