Well, I'll try to be respectful. Lately, they have been throwing hate at the Oldplayers, because they have offended the new Coldplay music, and these fans are very right. Let me explain why, then they lynch me. Coldplay's new music is good, but it's not as sublime as it used to be, same to the new music by The Killers (nostalgia rages here); some fans will attack me saying what about Coloratura, this song is magnificent; but Coldplay used to put out some great songs like Coloratura before. Now it's very difficult, but it's obvious because Coldplay is already in decline, just like The Killers.
And whenever English groups are in decline they resort to gospel or African music. For example, The Killers' latest album, Pressure Machine, is an apologia for Bruce Springsteen; and the Coldplay album called Everyday Life, does the same with Peter Gabriel. And personally, whenever I hear the song called Coloratura, it reminds me of the song called How? by John Lennon.
I'm talking about Coldplay, but the last Killers record, Pressure Machine, would have been great if Brandon Flowers had let Mark Stoermer and his British partner in on it. And of course, today's music is very bad for us old people, while for young people it is sublime, and because of this, Coldplay, like The Simpsons, tries to adapt to the new times. That's why the Oldplayers scream because they don't realize this.
What annoys me a lot, are the pseudo Coldplay fans, those who only became Coldplay fans, because Coldplay collaborated with BTS, and they attack Oldplayers because they don't know anything about Coldplay's old songs, this last thing makes me angry to a large degree. Sure, it's good that Coldplay have new fans, but don't say that their music of today is better than before. To be honest, Coldplay haven't been able to put out a Viva la Vida 2 or an X&Y 2, the same for The Killers with Sam's Town and Hot Fuss.
Although I prefer to continue listening to the new music by Coldplay and The Killers, even though they are already in decline, than this so-called horrendous and horrible music, whose name is spelled with the letter R.
Personally, Mark Stoermer's solo music has been for me a beacon in the middle of the storm, and I would like Mark Stoermer and his other colleagues to continue releasing records, but I don't want The Killers to disappear, I don't want let it be the end of The Killers. 😭 This was my opinion on this. 😒

Q1. Do you have favourite Coldplay album/era? If so what and why?
My absolute favourtie Coldplay album is, without a doubt, A Rush of Blood to the Head (though Shiver was the song that hooked me in.) I don’t think I can explain it, I just love everything about that album. I can listen to AROBTTH from start to finish without getting bored. If I had to choose one era, I think I would choose AHFOD because the boys seem so happy and I was more involved in the fandom.
Q2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad:
Fix You. I like the message of the song and it doesn’t hurt listening to Chris crooning about him trying to fix me. Also Prospekt’s March / Poppyfields; if you’re sad better to let it all out at once, right? I prefer songs that’ll make me cry than happy songs when I’m sad. If we’re talking about sad songs, then I also have to include What If.
Q3: Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy:
Don’t really have one? Maybe Strawberry Swing just because it is such a pretty song.

Yay, depends on my mood but mostly yay, nay, yay (I don’t get why people don’t like it)

I haven’t had the pleasure but even if I had seen them live, I’d like to see them live as much as possible. So, I’M DYING TO SEE THEM LIVE!
Q7: If you could make Coldplay perform one song live, what would you choose?
I am Your Baby’s Daddy, just kidding. I’d like to hear one of their newest ones so I would choose All I Can Think About Is You. Wedding Bells is a strong contestant just because I’m salty they never released a studio version.
Q8: What would your reaction be to meeting the boys in the street?
I don’t know, maybe I would freeze on the spot or start trembling uncontrollably.

I was tagged by @flamingplay , @blueberry-beanie and @aheadfullofdreams2204 to do this little Q&A, sorry for the late reply... I was at a festival and didn´t use tumblr for a while 🙈
Q1. Do you have favourite Coldplay album/era? If so what and why?
It´s Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends! I do have months where I listen to other albums more, but in the end whenever I play this one, it just re-inforces my love for it. The songs are diverse, the lyrics are poetical, the flow of one song to another, the outfits during that era... all of it together harmonizes in an amazing way! I never counted it, but I have a feeling that most of my favourite songs are from this album
Q2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad:
Tough question... I think the scientist? When I´m sad I normally do the mistake in grabbing AROBTTH or X&Y... which makes me even more sad 😝 but sometimes you just have to let it all out

Viva La Vida. But generally when I´m in a good mood, I listen to MX and Ahfod

The last 3 albums were all great, mx, gs and ahfod all have so many details in it! Since I love to draw and I tried to re-draw some of their album art in my coldplay-fanart, I discovered so many little hidden insiders, personal things added by the band and lyrics... The members were involved in each of them (everybody in mx and ahfod, mainly chris in gs) and I really love their collaboration with the artists on the covers
Q6: Have you ever seen Coldplay live, if not - would you like to?
I did! 5 times 😊
I saw them in Munich during the mylo xyloto tour
and in Zürich, Berlin, Munich and Warsaw during the ahfod tour
Hopefully I can see them again in a couple of years!
Q7: If you could make Coldplay perform one song live, what would you choose?
I really, reeeeallly want them to play Moving To Mars! My first choice, Strawberry Swing, became reality during the Zürich concert,,, and I´d love them to add Amazing Day back to the setlist (and get rid of asfos or sjlt instead), since it was such a beautiful song to be played life! During that performance, everybody put their phones away and Chris made the whole stadium wave to the “oooh part”... I got chills 😩
Q8: What would your reaction be to meeting the boys in the street?
Haha, I´d most probably smile from ear to ear, shake like a chihuahua and stutter a “have a great day”, and then regret for the rest of my life that I didn´t take a pic with them to make sure it wasn´t just a dream 😅

In my opinion the collabs are oriented for the radio audience... simple lyrics, catchy tune, but it lacks some depth to them. Even yesterday the guy from the radio station that I listen to compared the synth-melody from somthing just like this to a sportscar engine 🐸☕

naah, I started listening to them during the mx era... but I love their old songs, and whenever they drop something that is not in the asfos/sjlt/hftw direction but instead they go in the clocks/aictais/moving to mars direction I get even more hyped!

i - I mean they even list Phil right after up&up in the credits at each concert. He even.. he oficially IS a bandmember

Q1. Do you have favourite Coldplay album/era? If so what and why?
Oh that’s a hard one... I LOVE the Viva era because it’s simply EPIC (and them curlsss...!) The first Coldplay performance I ever watched was MTV Live in Tokyo, and it fascinated me so much that I kept watching and watching... and never stopped xD.
BUT I also love Ghost Stories era because it has this mystical, magical feel about it and was the first era I really experienced as a Coldplayer as was happening.
AND (yeah, very long answer) I can’t leave AHFOD era out, since this is the first era of which I could experience going to concerts and yeah... it’s awesome xD

I’m not so hyped about it I guess. But I’m curious because Hypnotised and AICTAIY are amazing. Also, Brian Eno has been working with them, that could be interesting!

No, actually I really hate this discussion. Everyone has their own taste, so an argument about personal preferences is kind of useless. Imo it’s important for a band to evolve and try new things. I love both older and new songs!

What kinda question is this even? Five!!!
Q14: Live 2012 or Live 2014?
Why is Live 2003 not mentioned? Hard question, since all concert films are so different... Live 2014 is beautiful, I love how it kinda is a circle, a repeating story. Live 2012 is colourful!! And Live 2003 is just so long ago... and the documentary is hillarious. Also: DAYLIGHT. Ok.

I was tagged by @xmarksthexyloto and @deathandallhisfriendss for get to know the Coldplayer tag. Thank you, and these are pretty interesting questions here, @xandwhy! :)
Q1. Do you have favourite Coldplay album/era? If so what and why?
My fave album is Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, and it forever will be my absolute fave. Such topic as connection of life, love, and death is both philosophical and relatable to, I think, everyone. This album is where they showed their total creativity, opened up for musical experiments and unveiled the completely unknown and interesting side of the band, the album sounds very fresh and all-encompassing in terms of genres but still so Coldplay-ish. :) I will never shut up about this but here are one of the best Jonny’s works and the best lyrics and stylistic devices Chris has ever written. And in addition to all that, I’m a fan of Brian Eno’s music so their collaboration made me even more happy here. And, yeah, the whole era was ablolutely epic with these iconic outfits.
Q2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad:
Oh, that’s quite hard to name one... I’ll name several: Violet Hill (helps to get through this somehow), Politik, Low (yeah, sometimes I need an extra guitar smashing and drum bashing), Harmless, O.
Q3: Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy:
Chrsitmas Lights never ceases to make me feel warm and happy even if it’s not winter or/and Christmas time xD Also I’d name Mylo Xyloto (yeah, this intro), LiT II, Birds, Lovers In Japan (especially acoustic version), Amazing Day (live version, like here), Hypnotised.
Q4: X Marks the Spot, A Whisper, Princess of China, Fun: yay or nay?
nay, YAY (I know the production is weird but I love this strange atmosphere here, imo underrated and misunderstood song, good they played it once on GS tour), nay, Ok (Jonny’s guitar is absolutely amazing here).
Q5: Best Album Art?
Ghost Stories. The second best would probably be A Head Full Of Dreams, I knew and liked Pilar’s work even before knowing that they worked together with Coldplay on the album art. :)
Q6: Have you ever seen Coldplay live, if not - would you like to?
I have never and that’s quite a sensetive issue for me. Eastern Europe is more than often ignored in terms of huge concerts. The possibility of them being here equals to - 445, oops, 0, even though during MX tour we had strong rumours but in vain: they played in neighbour Poland, not here. So I’d flaming LOVE to but no chance.
Q7: If you could make Coldplay perform one song live, what would you choose?
One song to be put in a setlist till the end of this tour, not occasionally - Violet Hill, one song that they once used to play live and I would like to hear - Daylight, one song to come back to the setlist - Amazing Day, one song they’ve never played live but I’d wish to hear it once in a life live - I Ran Away.
Q8: What would your reaction be to meeting the boys in the street?
Idk, that’s where I can only imagine lol Considering me irl, I’d be too shy to even come up to them or shout their names but who actually knows in real situation.

Imo, they don’t need any collabs. Except collabs with some decent musical producers.

That’s a tough one... Jonny Goes Jazz anyway, too epic for me, and there’s nothing wrong with jazz :D Oh, how I wish they could film more like these.

A L I E N S for already very obvious reason and because I’d love to know whether it was that song they once soundchecked! Also idk if this is Miracles (Someone Special) from today’s soundcheck but hyped about what I hear so far, too. No, I haven’t preordered the EP, the only chance to buy music for me is via google play.

Oh, no, let’s not speak in this kind of terms lol I must admit that I honestly love old stuff much more but it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate MX and GS album (GS is my 3rd fave by them) + what we have so far with this upcoming EP I adore, too (I mean AICTAIY and Hypnotised). So, I’m a quite picky Allplayer xD

5 members, Phil is as important as the rest of them.

Mostly Parachutes. Well, it gives off such melancholic vibes that is very relaxing and the songs never fail to make me smile
2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad:
See You Soon. In case you are wondering why, I see this song about a relationship breaking up, be it about friends or lovers. Next in line is Amsterdam. That song describes a suicide for Pete’s sake!
3.Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy:
Yellow (the studio version). That colour is the epitome of happiness! It’s so sweet how could I NOT feel happy. Runner ups are We Never Change and Sparks. It makes me smile and fantazise about being in a relationship

Seen live? Not yet. Would like to? I would trade anything just to see them face to face (except my organs and my virginity obviously)

Q1. Do you have a favourite Coldplay album/era? If so what and why? Can’t decide... I’ve grown up with AROBTTH and X&Y, it makes me remember my childhood and because of this time I’m a coldplayer now. But I love Viva La Vida (well and every other album!) the same way... Of course the AHFOD era is one of my favourites, because I could finally see the boys live!!! 😍
Q2. Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re sad: Trouble, We Never Change, Gravity, O, sometimes Magic.
Q3: Favourite Coldplay song for when you’re happy: Viva La Vida, Strawberry Swing, Birds,... generally the whole AHFOD album.
Q4: X Marks the Spot, A Whisper, Princess of China, Fun: yay or nay?
All of them: yay! I just don’t know how to feel about Fun. It’s okay but I don’t listen to it often. So for the other three songs the ‘yay’ is a little louder!
Q5: Best Album Art? Ghost Stories of course and AHFOD.
Q6: Have you ever seen Coldplay live, if not - would you like to? YEEEEES! 2016 in Hamburg and a month ago in Munich! AND I’M SO EXCITED FOR PARIS IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AFHSDAWKDJAW!!!!! 😍😍😍
Q7: If you could make Coldplay perform one song live, what would you choose? Speed Of Sound! I would looooveee to hear that live! And Strawberry Swing, Shiver (although I could hear that song last year already) and maybe Warning Sign.
Q8: What would your reaction be to meeting the boys in the street? Crying, laughing, being the happiest person on the whole planet, telling them how I love them and taking a picture with them... and when I’m at home I’d print that pic and put it on every wall in our house 😂

Q12: Do you consider yourself an ‘Oldplayer’? No, not really. I love everything what they do. I mostly hear their older albums but that doesn’t mean I don’t love the current stuff. They could do whatever they want - it’s always the beeest thiiiing in the wooorld!
Q13: In your opinion, 4 or 5 members of Coldplay? How could there just be 4??? EVERYONE knows there are 5 members and EVERYONE loves all of them!!! :) (At least that’s what I hope!)
Q14: Live 2012 or Live 2014? 2012... all the colours and of course for the first time: the xylobands! 😍

I think it is A Rush of Blood To The Head, I love that rock stars vibe in Live 2003 and I like very much the melancholic style so.. yes I’m emo.

Up with the birds. It always cheers me up, kinda gives me hope that maybe one day everything is going to be okay.

Yes! Y’all can believe I can answer this one with a Yes! Because I can’t and I’m still crying about it. I saw them last year in April and I cried all the time bc in 2012 they canceled the MX tour in Latin America so it was like “finallyyyy”
