What’s an In real Ink blog:
Basically, it’s a special type of roleplay blog where the character(s) post as if they own the blog and live in the Splatoon world. You don’t need to draw responses if you don’t want to. IRI is a play on the word IRL.
You can make your own IRI blog and interact with me, or not (I’ll still respond to other blogs)! I don’t exactly own the concept at all, so feel free to join me however you’d like to (or do it on your own!). Rules above are not set in stone, they are just how my own blog functions.
No NSFW. NSFW jokes are funny, but nothing overtly NSFW. I am not interested.
You’ll have to clear with me first if our characters are friends already or not. Otherwise, I will respond to yours as if I don’t know you at all or not very well.
No hi/hug asks unless you include a conversation starter. I’m not gonna do small talk, IC or otherwise haha. I will respond to DMs IC if you reach out IC.

You can send me an ask or make a post and @ me if you want to interact with the character(s) on the blog! I’ll likely respond to pretty much any kind of blog. But do note, this is not a multi universe blog, it’s not set so that my character can randomly show up in a Pokemon blog’s universe for example. It’s being treated as if this blog is owned and run by a character, who is behind the screen typing things. They do not exist within the blog itself, they *own* the blog. Ask-blogs that aren’t similar will be seen as a roleplay attempt by Dess, at least.
Likewise, I won’t roleplay us battling or going on a walk. I will be able to talk about it as if it happened, but I can’t roleplay the encounter itself. This is a somewhat specific type of RP account, sorry!

What is Slow Tide?: Slow Tide is an idol group consisting of the Inkling Neptune, and Octoling Artrem. Currently they’re a small idol duo focusing on breakcore music and hosting their Livestream, Psychedelia Livestream, in Octopia. Octopia is a small city consisting of primarily Octolings, and was a secret safe haven before the events of Octo Expansion. After the events, Octopia became more open and grew even larger. The city’s theme is futuristic, while also retro. Slow Tide is well known for their weird flirting antics on stream and how it’s made them unable to get a sponsor while their single producer struggles to reign them in.

This is an “in real ink” blog, which means I’m pretending to be my splatsona, Scrub, living in Splatsville Greater Metropolitan Area.
I’m run by @theonlycampix, and the idea’s made by @iri-dess and I was encouraged to make this blog by @eevyerndracaneon/ @iri-astral!

If I don’t know you personally, I’m going to say Scrub doesn’t know your OC, either. I mean I’m not expecting tons of interaction on this blog anyway, but! I think it’d be cool if we got to know each other through this anyhow.
No NSFW, please. Jokes are fine, Scrub’s over 18, but I don’t really want to think about like, more than just basic flirting with these characters.
I’m not going to answer asks that have low effort to them (’hugs you/hi’), but I don’t really have a super high bar for that. Just give me something interesting to answer and I’ll answer it! Doesn’t even have to be that interesting.
OOC posts will be tagged #ooi, like how this is #iri (in-real-ink), #ooi (out-of-ink). Like when you’re using a Big Swig and throw half a Splash Wall.
Primer on my character: Seems like a jerk at first, kind of is, but I like to think he’s a nice guy somewhere under there. He’s pretty short - was actually banned from participating in Turf Wars and Ranked Battles until the recent win of Chaos by Pearl a few years ago in the Final Fest. That lifted quite a few safety restrictions, allowing him to participate in Turf Wars and the new Anarchy battles for the first time - in his home turf, no less! He’s a pretty opinionated guy on the meta of the game and on music, but while he can seem rude he genuinely does enjoy debate and discussion of what’s good and what’s not. Even if neither side agrees with each other in the end, hearing other opinions can never hurt!
Content other than text posts: uhhh probably not much lol. maybe if I get comms of him i’ll post them like iri Splatstagram posts or something?? I’m not anticipating a lot there.

This is a roleplay blog themed around the concept of "posting as if Splatoon were real"(the IRI in the url standing for "In Real Ink" like in real life = irl). Basically, I'm roleplaying my squidkid! I'm gonna try and interact casually as if I were the character and the character was running this blog!
If I don't know you personally, I'm not going to assume our cephalokids know each other in any capacity, it sounds more interesting for a friendship to blossom that way anyways :P
No NSFW, except for jokes! My squidkid is an adult but I'm not looking to indulge in explicit NSFW Splatoon content, especially since tumblr will nuke me into oblivion.
Typical roleplay blog rules such as no "hugs you/hi" asks that don't have anything else of substance to them.
OOC is tagged #ooi (out of ink) to maintain the concept of "iri" being "in real ink"
Overall this blog is going to be run as if this is a blog run by my character, just cuz the concept sounds fun!
Content you can expect on here outside of text posts: art from the character, art from other people about events in the game (treating them as if they were diary comic type art), screenshots/gifs/videos of gameplay (treating them as if they were vlogging/professional video content). Trying to stay positive abt the spring anime season so here are some things to look forward to:
3 sports anime, one of them is by MAPPA, so we can expect great animation and the other 2 are actually female led sports anime?? And they are not ecchi?? Is this a miracle?? (Boukyaku Battery, Rinkai! and Ooi! Tonbo)
2 yuri anime coming, yayyyyy,,, (Whisper me a Love Song and The Two Sides of Voice Actor Radio)
2 slice of life anime (Tadaima, Okaeri and Tonari no Youkai-san) + Yuru Camp is coming back (the sole cgdct of the season, my crops are dying)
Also we have a BL, and I need you to brace yourself for what i'm going to say next: it's an ABO m-preg childcare BL (Tadaima, Okaeri)
As for other romance anime we have the Spice and Wolf remake (i'm not sure if it's a remake or a new season?) and i'm also looking forward to Unnamed Memory.
And we have the single shoujo of the season: A Condition Called Love. I've heard great things abt the manga so I hope the anime is good
If i'm being honest tho, spring season looks nowhere near as good as winter did to me
Edit: apparently there is one more shoujo next season but it doesnt sound as interesting lol

World Rules
These are just how I’ll be running this blog. You can take inspiration from these if you want, they are not set in stone for every blog who wants to join.

No mentioning Switch or Nintendo outside any Fests that include these 4th wall breaking things, unless done for jokes.
There's more than just the 3 cities we’re aware of in the games that host matches/game modes, and it’s possible for long distance connection to the same match. All towers that host matches function as a large super jump cannon that sends its players to their destinations. (This is what the holograms function is in S3, displaying players who aren’t in the same tower as you)
All players are given an ID (inkdentification) card when signing up to play matches, turf or otherwise. The name displayed can be different from your actual name, and functions as a “gamer tag” of sorts. Processing the change is instant when changing the name, but in S3′s city there’s a cooldown afterwards to prevent cephalopods from changing too often.
The ID cards function not only to identify you by a name, but also gives you a friend code (this is the translation for SW/FC/NNID in-world). Friend Codes allow players to meet up in matches guaranteed, even if joining from another tower. ID also allows the player’s info to be tracked for ranking, W/Ls, etc, and helps with matchmaking.
All Splatubers are considered real and known by their in-game/sona appearance (just like irl, not everyone knows them and that’s fine). Any game footage from them are VLOGs. It’s likely a meme that some vloggers like to pretend to be human, no one remembers where the joke started.
All non-splatoon videos/media/etc will be treated as if they *are* Splatoon and are at least Octolings or Inklings. If you ask about a fandom like FNAF, I will reply as if it was in the Splatoon world and the animatronics were sea creatures or whatever else makes it funny.
Splatfest announcements from Twitter are considered leaks and rumours, it’s not until the idols announce the fest in-game that it’s considered confirmed. There are a few credible sources in universe.
Region exclusive fests are fests held at the same time/somewhat differing times but the players could only sign up for one fest at once.
