Yes, I know it has multiple readings, but stick with me here.

Having the general meaning of "love" with connotations of affection and even agape (in fact, it's used that way in a certain faith), it can become a massive force.

A source of power for your favorite Magical Girl or battle anime hero, the driving force behind many a romcom and romance plot (sub or otherwise).

We idol fans are familiar with "love," especially since it drives our very hobby and surrounding subculture.

(Love is what's kept this ship floating in the midst of the massive hellscape around us.)

Since it's such a driving force, it has since become the nom personnel of many an idol.

So...

Also this lovely lady is quite literally my favorite singer to ever live. I implore you to listen to her music. This album is imo one of her weakest and it's still incredible (and she's WAY more than Sakuranbo, the one song you might have heard from her, which is really the most generic one she's done and the chord progression is just Canon in D). And look up the lyrics if you don't understand Japanese - they're really unique and she writes them.

ok full confession, there are exactly four (4) anime i've watched more than like 2-3 episodes of in my entire life (Fruits Basket, InuYasha, Demon Slayer, and Jujutsu Kaisen) so i'm sorry if my picks are incredibly basic jhskjhkjghs. also i had to go back and listen to a lot of openings & endings for Fruits Basket & InuYasha bc i couldn't put songs to titles whoops

1.) 紅蓮華 (Gurenge) by LiSA. this is easily the most basic thing on this list and i don't give a FUCK it goes so hard. it was number 7 in my spotify top 100 this year for a reason

2.) 明け星 (Akeboshi) by LiSA. this is also basic, but it was 14 in my spotify top 100.

3.) 青のすみか (Ao no sumika) by Tatsuya Kitani. number 61 on my spotify top 100 this year. edits of hidden inventory-era satosugu is what got me to watch jjk in the first place so this is not a surprise.

4.) VIVID VICE by Who-ya Extended. SO fucking good, makes my brain purr like a cat. somehow did not end up in my top 100 for the year.

5.) Lucky Ending by Vicke Blanka (from early in the Fruits Basket reboot, i think it's like,,, the first ending? i could be wrong tho don't hold me to that hkjhskjgh)

Honorable Mention: My Will by Dream (first InuYasha ending, it still slaps so hard)
