Still from the Animated Sequence done by Fizzy Eye/London in the feature-length documentary MOOG (2004) - a film on synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog. Directed by Hans Fjellestad and Produced by Ryan Page & Hans Fjellestad. Exec Produced by Gary Hustwit.

Just in case you thought that “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah” wasn’t novel enough, Perrey & Kingsley decided it would benefit from being made out of synthesizer honks, alternated with baby noises. Also present are the usual Perrey & Kingsley complement of of chirps, boinks, squeaks, splats, electric organ, and drum machine.
I have no adequate way to describe this piece of music. Listen and enjoy. Or don’t.
It’s probably the sign of a healthy mind if you don’t.
(Technically both pieces are based on music from the opera “La Giaconda” but given that HMHF had reached #2 on the Billboard charts three years earlier it’s probably that)

Hello Astro! I don’t know how attached you are to the Star Tunnel music, but I’ve recently found that most of ‘Mother Earth’s Plantasia’ and Louie Zong’s album ‘Greenhouse’ give me the same sort of Space Mountain-y, Tomorrowlandish vibe (which I greatly adore).
-the same anon who asked you about offhand disney :P
hello!!! i'm incredibly attached to the star tunnel music, and i actually also really love mother earth's plantasia for the same reason! i'll certainly check out the greenhouse album, louie zong is a fantastic musician! thank you so much for the recommendation! and may i recommend to you perrey and kingsley's works! i found them recently, and you might actually recognize one of their songs- baroque hoedown, otherwise known as the theme of the main street electrical light parade! their other music, especially from their album space age computer music, is very similar in tone to tomorrowland's vibes which, of course, makes me oh so very happy!

Early electronic music's ignored. Yes, we tend to forget about the musicians in this idiom these days. I agree, some tend to be like Kraftwerk, because they continue to have their place in our mentions, yet what about – I usually dislike the latter phrase, but I shall let this slide – Gershon Kingsley? He remains one of the pioneers that doesn't get mentioned that often. Sure, his most famous composition gets covered over and over again, but some of his albums that made the electronica prominent seem to get lost in the usual discussions on the history of the genre. Then again, he resembled his cohort / duo partner Jean-Jacques Perrey in a way, i.e. his machine tunes were more or less seen as a collection of gimmicks despite them showing what these soundscapes can do.

today I'm so onto bonaparte it randomly fell to me and I am so ill for it ..... I was looking for "computer in love" by perrey and kingsley but made a joyful misclick and one thing led to another aaaaand I'm 3 albums down saying "this is sooooo me" over and over posing in my mirror!
so far I'm a big fan of the horse album the lyrics are so wacky and make me happy to be a little weird guy. I'm soothed. also fucking w the amount of remixes there are for all these songs ,, i love a good remix there's something so great about them

Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements
The 1993 Stereolab album "Transient Random-Noise Bursts" takes its album art from the 1969 "Hi-Fi Sound Stereo Test Record" and the album is titled after the first track "Test 1 (Channel Recognition, Phasing And Balance. Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements.)" An album named after a stereo test record with album art based on it does not really paint a picture of what the album will be, but Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements is an electronic rock record that reminds me of stuff like The United States of America. The track "I'm Going Out of My Way" samples the Perrey & Kingsley song "One Note Samba - Spanish Flea." My favorite song is "Jenny Ondioline", a song partially titled after the Ondiolime, an early synthesizer.

Yet ANOTHER one that I should really have found before Halloween: Aural Exciters, 1979: "Spooks in Space", a weird fusion of disco, early ska, and whatever genre "Spooky Scary Skeletons" is. Totally unrelated to Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley's 1966 song by the same title, which seems surprising considering how well a sample of that bizarre rhythm track would have fit.
