Okay real talk!!! If any of you are looking for a virtual pet site rn, I’d highly recommend Xanje. It’s super cute and fun and works really well on mobile.

There are also over 100 pet species with lots of different patterns and almost daily updates and the designs are absolutely fucking adorable.

ok im gushing to my friends about how I want more people to know about subeta, so I guess I will advertise here too!!! (add me @donteatacowman there

subeta is basically neopets but still in classic format and slightly more adult friendly

(yes i know there are other pet sites like flight rising, but subeta was very much inspired by classic neopets back in the day)

i think they just need like a tiktok or something being like ARE YOU NOSTALGIC and suddenly they will be profitable

they have pride flags and mobility aids as wearable items etc

cash is only needed to buy user-created art to wear (or another few bonus things to make the game better, but like, instead of 10 quests per npc a day, you can do 15…), and if you create that art, you can make a profit (in the form of the cash-currency). you can make that cash currency other ways. i just spent actual cash on it for the first time in almost 10 years :| because im like holy shit the game is still active and making updates. i want to help with server costs

like seriously you can just play it as a dress-up game since you can try on things that you don't own

i know im sounding like an ad at this point but it is a cool thing and if people just KNEW about it, it would have this huge resurgence imo

i also just got nominated for a spotlight :) for my pet's profile aka neopets style html/css

(yes the pet art is dated - they update them over time but some of them are still early 2000s looking lol)

Welcome to Purrfect Companions!

Hello! My name is Fae and I am the owner and main developer of the new pet site called Purrfect Companions! The idea of this site is to be able to provide a comforting and safe area for both adults and children to adopt, grow, and show off their cozy cat companions! Starting a website from scratch is definitely a major goal and it may be a year or two until I collect the resources and skill in order to properly open the site, but I figured there's nothing wrong in getting outside opinions and criticism along the way, so that's what this tumblr alongside the other social media that will appear! The basic things I would like first and foremost of the site are the following: - An adoption center of sorts, so members can release companions that they're no longer attached to so they can find a new home - Some way to donate items for other users to grab, possibly adding in the aspect of banned users items to be returned into circulation - An easy and efficient way to contact staff and dedicated staff to do so - A clear roadmap of where funds are going and what developmental goals we as a team have for the site and the userbase That being said, I feel like this post has gone on for a bit too long so I'll end it off here. Neopets Classic: What Happened?

Hey all! Some of y’all have definitely heard the rumblings of issues regarding racism/antisemitism/other forms of descrimination with the neoclone site neopetsclassic.com  I’ve posted about it a few times and I always get anons asking me to go into detail about what happened or to “prove” my claims. I never respond bc 1. I find it incredibly weird to put the onus of proof on someone who has been directly affected by that violence and 2. It’s impossible to tell who is actually concerned vs. who just wants to see the drama. That being said my lovely friend has compiled her experiences with the site and the admin team and asked me to share them on Tumblr. I apologize it’s all screenshots atm, but I will try to get the actual text for folx who rely on screen readers! For now I’ll say don’t support neopets classic (npc) don’t support people who are willingly apart of this racist team. I know some of them are on tumblr, one recently deleted but I’m sure he’ll be back at some point. If you’re looking for a good neo-clone I recommend Moderneopets, Virtupets, or Grundo’s Cafe all of which have very unique approaches to the classic neo experience and all of which have cut ties with the owner of Neopets Classic because he’s a dick.
