In the case of waiting to hear if you got the job, does the old adage “no news is good news” apply?

Featuring such looks as:
that one day I wore my shirt inside out by accident, and
the first time I wore flats this semester

63/100 Days of Productivity
Worked a bit on my dissertation but hit a roadblock because I needed to reread Esperanza Rising before I could move forward. So I hunkered down and reread it this afternoon.

Don’t let my 8pm bowl of oatmeal with honey and cinnamon fool you, graduate school isn’t always this glamorous.
(Currently on day 3 of serious article revisions.  Oatmeal for strength.)

54/100 Days of Productivity
I’ve had plenty of productive days since my last post like 2 weeks ago; but I haven’t felt like posting. I’ve been working hard and then was on Spring Break and then Spring Break ended in literal catastrophe (a tornado hit my parents house, knocking down a tree onto their roof. We are all safe and the damage isn’t as bad as it could’ve been. But still sucked).
I have a lot going on in the next month and a half--among that: submitting article revisions, defending my dissertation proposal, finishing up my coursework, teaching, submitting a job application, reviewing an archival project, giving a keynote for a grad conference. You know, the usual. I’ll try to be more consistent with posting here; but some days it just feels almost too much to take an artsy photo of my workspace and write a post. For instance, today I read a novel for class, worked on lesson plans, ran 2 miles, downloaded some articles. But none of that felt easy--and none of it made me want to pause and write a post (though that is what I’m doing now). I’ll figure out a groove eventually, I hope.

If one more student emails me to ask me to adjust their final grade before final grades are even posted, I’m going to lose it.

Late post.
Fall semester fashion.
I was going to take pics a few times a week this semester to document my various teaching outfits but we see how well that turned out with my sum total of five pictures….
I can attempt a better spring semester if anyone is interested.

Day 37/100 Days of Productivity
Well, it’s 9am and today’s already been pretty productive (as far as self-care goes).  I went for a run (hence the blurry, dreary sky photo) and did yoga, took a nice shower, made myself a cup of tea with honey (to moderate my sugar intake, though, I sorely miss the sugar in my tea.  All I taste in honey.  Any tips?).  Now onto a discussion post for my (last ever) children’s lit class and then I think I’ll probably deep clean my bathroom.  Ah, adulthood.

4-8/100 Days of Productivity
I’ve been a bit MIA here for a few days because, well...I was at a conference.  A pretty big conference...if my fellow humanities peeps catch my drift.  I usually don’t like posting about where I am because of Internet Stranger Danger, but I don’t think I can coyly explain that I was at a conference this weekend without people figuring out it was MLA.
And, well, I almost didn’t make it to NYC at all because of the Bomb Cyclone.  But I got there!  I presented!  I ate good food!  I barely slept!  And now I’m back home, prepping for comps and the new semester.

10/100 Days of Productivity
I finished up reading some sources today and worked on organizing sources for my literature review.  Slowly but surely.

I’ve written 500 words this evening, but I’ve also had 3 glasses of wine, so....how many words have I really written?

23-24/100 Days of Productivity
Met with my dissertation director today post-comps.  This was our first time talking face-to-face since the fall and I caught her up on what’s going on with me.  We talked some Big Things and also realized that she sent me an incomplete comps prompt...so now I’m going back by this weekend to add on an extra part to my comps.  Sigh.  The work never ends.  But I have wine and pecan pie to get me through.
