Full Moon Ritual

Being a solitary practitionare means that I get to make up a lot of the rules. Which I love!

One of my most beloved and consistent practices is Full Moon worshipping.

I usually start between 10:30pm/ 11pm on the night of a Full Moon and I usually go for 2 -5 hours depending on my needs and plans. So here's my usual template.

Set Up

* Make sure you have all the items you need.

-> This includes materials for spells, oracle cards/tarot, candles, pillows, blankets, etc.

Opening

*Before closing the circle, I like doing a grounding technique.

-> I usually do some type of art activity (collages, journal, sing, draw, paint, a combination of all, etc).

• The purpose of this is to help me come into the moment and shed the "real world" before I become one with my magical workings.

Open Chakras

*After feeling grounded, I go through a guided meditation process to open my chakras.

-> I usually visualize my chakras as eyes that open when I activate them, and create a ring around me based on the color of the chakra.

Close circle

* I have a 30 feet black rope around my altar and working space to create the circle of magic.

*Once I have opened the chakras I, in this order:

-> Light the candles set for the cqrdinal points/ elements

•I light them in clockwork order.

-> Invite the deities that I usually seek guidance from.

-> Define the intention for the Full Moon worship.

• This ranges between finding clarity, challenging myself to work on harder workings, connect with higher powers, etc.

Workings

*I decide what spells I want to work with before the Full Moon.

*They always connect with my Full Moon intentions.

* I usually do 2 - 5 spells on a good night.

-> The ones I always do are:

• "Drawing Down the Moon" - I connect with the Full Moon goddess and take in her energy.

• "Cleansing and Consecrating" - I cleanse and consecrat new items that I want to use in spells and my altar.

-> This is also where I do my dedications and offerings.

*I make sure to clear the energy after every working by playing the handpan I own 3 times.

->Some people prefer to use a bell.

Divination

*I use an array of oracle cards and pick one of the tarot decks for this step.

*I let them pick me and I mix and match for more clarity in what I am asking.

-> I usually ask:

• Guidance for the remainder of the lunar cycle.

• Protection from harm

• Specific issues I'm struggling with

Closing

*After completing all of workings I make sure to make strong statements focused on making sure that all workings are completed to benefit of all, and harm to none.

Some things to consider:

*I follow through in this order for ending my ritual:

-> Close chakras through meditation

-> Thank the elements, as a extinguish each candle set for that element.

->Thank all the deities that I asked to suppory me.

->Open circle - I exclaim "The circle is open but not unbroken" and then open the black rope that I use.

Somethings to Consider:

You decide when its best to do your workings.

You decide for how long, if you want to invite deities, and what you will do, etc.

You don't have to go full on aesthetic witch, unless you have to. I usually practice in my jammies, cause they're comfy.

You're in charge! If it doesn't feel right, don't do it!

If you don't know what to do some research, find what is right to you.
