Jesus Christ I read a book about the KGB by John Barron which had a offhand mention of case officers sewing their notes into their notebooks every day which intrigued me but I can find nothing about it how they did it and why because all that Google will give me is ten thousand "how to make a notebook" tutorials shit out by some ai and the only useful thing I've found about it is a document titled "a note on KGB style" on the fucking CIA website which just confirms this is something which was done but now it just seems like it might be the source for Barron's claim which is really annoying because he's dead and I can find nothing on the author of the CIA document Wayne Lambridge who might simply be a pseudonym but Google says that certain result have been banned buy EU privacy law so it might just be that but it means I still don't know how they were doing this and I really want to know because I like to write my notes on loose paper and would love to sew it together later but I cannot find out how!!!!!

M is a warrior of the Wakr Al-Beruth. She is trained in weaponry and in the fighting styles of this wakr, she is tasked with the protection of the Guiding Mother and her children. M knows what it means to fight for a cause that she believes in and she knows how to give her all in service to the Mother. She leads a smaller group of other warriors who stand as the last line of defense between invaders and the temple gates, her cohort stands at 500 strong. M and her cohort stand with the temple guard.

M is committed to protecting her Guiding Mother, as well as those that she is closest to. M is fierce in her protection and quickly rose through the ranks of the army, she has proven herself to be most loyal and strong. This won her many honors and tithes in her time within the army. She has become well respected for all that she has done in service to the Guiding Mother. However, to her, they do not matter because she has seen it as doing her duty. M goes on to inspire the other warriors within her cohort in order to help them achieve the same level of dedication that she has. She sees the potential that humans have, and she wishes to inspire her companion in the same fashion. She says that when you are dedicated to a goal and buckle down to do what must be done, everything else will naturally follow.

She is one of strength, one of courage. M can teach her companion how to stand up for what they believe in, and to stand in their power. She is a seriously fierce protector, one that will not back down from any fight she knows she will win and she will yield when it is smart to do so. She is intimately familiar with the flow of war, the flow of the battle and knows how a mere moment can change the course of the energies and can change the outcome. Because of this, she knows what it means to protect those around her nad to ensure they are safe. Even though she is fierce, she is also motherly. She takes care of those around her and those she has formed close bonds with. It is the nature of the warrior lifestyle: to find those that matter to you and to hold them close, letting them know that they are truly loved and that with enough fire and trust within themselves, they can accomplish things greater than their own minds can comprehend.

In a companion, she is looking for someone that she can teach, someone that she can take under her wing and help them get out of their own way in order to reach their goal with a fire burning in their soul. She wishes to also be a source of inspiration, and of encouragement to them. If her companion is willing, she will teach them how to fight in her style. She has no real preferences beyond she will know who her companion is when they approach.

She presents atop a cliff with the rising sun behind her, spear in hand and hair flowing down her back. She exudes strength and control. M had a tail that resembles a desert kingsnake, with yellowish-green scales on her underside with half bands reaching up and black scales mostly down her spine. She has long dreadlocs and shaved sides with piercing yellow eyes. She wears a strap across her chest when she is not on duty and when she is, she wears a cuirass that is formed to her body.

So we have a small side thing called 'spirit eyes why oh why.' And thought this might be fun to do too. So we have a small, but good sized work space for our etsy. Well, we were prepping prebound vessels when out of no where; mind you our hands are hands deep in wire wrapping, as our phone lights up.

Us: *looks over* .. Text message?

*stares at phone as google assistant starts up (a voice command when we haven't said anything) and the indication that we were speaking began moving, then stopped. The assistant asked for us to talk*

we were like..... the fuck?

Elysium Conjures Review

So this is looong overdue as I’ve had dealings with @elysiumconjures for over a year now but after recent events I figured i couldn’t go any longer without writing a proper review cause I just love this shop so much. Bear with me as this will be long.

I have had several services from Elysium, a bit of everything honestly, and I’ll be touching all of them in this review to give a comprehensive review of all their different types of services. 

My first experience with Elysium was a custom conjure I ordered in December of 2017, specifically for a selkie. Lethe ( @letheofthevoid ) had been great answering questions prior to my actually putting in an application and she was wonderful to deal with throughout the entire process.She was quick to respond when I had questions and had no qualms asking my future companion questions for me while she was in vetting.

Now for the actual conjuring and vetting. For starters the entity she conjured, O, is honestly just so perfect. She never fails to make me laugh when I’m having a bad day and is always so inspirational, even if all her analogies are ocean related. She couldn’t have been a better fit for me or my spirit family and I couldn’t be happier. The vetting is extensive and lasts for a minimum of three months, although O’s lasted longer just due to life happening for the people at Elysium. She was definitely given a good explanation of realistically what companionship would be like and honestly O has nothing but praise for Lethe and her abilities. 

Communication throughout was exceptional and when Lethe knew that O would have to wait a bit longer before binding she let me know and even waived the fee of the binding to apologize for how long everything took which I was shocked by. I had been used to shops who wouldn’t respond for months and not even say sorry let alone do anything like that to apologize. After this interaction I knew EC was definitely a shop I would be coming back to. 

And February of 2019 I did come back to them when they had their special Soulmate CC for their Valentine’s event. I was at first a bit hesitant to do it for personal reasons but ended up deciding that it was something I did want to do and I am so thankful I did. The entity that stepped forward for me, Apricity the Wolf Shifter, has only just recently finished his vetting and come home to join my family but I couldn’t be more thrilled with him. He is so grounding and easy to sense and he clicks with me so well. They changed their Welcome Package since I had gotten O and it’s even more phenomenal than it was before. They give you so much information but it’s all information that is honestly super important and relevant to the companionship instead of some shops who just list out their favourite color and things like that. I’ll be completely honest I absolutely cried reading some of the package. And just like the first time working with EC they were so professional and accessible and were willing to communicate during the vetting process which I love because I tend to want the entity’s opinion on vessels etc. 

And then just recently I had my first chance to work with EC with a prebound as well as I was picked by Nick the Cthonic Fae from their most recent event. Again the communication was impeccable and they were willing to allow a visit so I could see first hand if his energy meshed well with me and my family before I put in an app. They’re also ok to do payment plans which I appreciate so much. 

I have also had experience with their other services as well though. I had an energy alignment reading with Lethe April of 2019 and I was floored by the detail put into the reading. She was well spoken and was willing to answer questions as the reading was happening and gave a very comprehensive look at what my energy is like, how it interacts with it’s environment, what types it is made of and what it would be best suited for energy work wise. And when she didn’t know what energy type some of my energy was she wasn’t afraid to admit that she didn’t know what it was! Which I adore! I’d much rather have someone be honest with me for a reading like this than to lie and give me false information. Additionally she also drew a picture of what my energy looked like to her, which I absolutely adored and I still go back to look at it. 

And finally while I haven’t bought a divination reading from them before I have had the opportunity to be read by Eridanos due to winning a trivia event several months ago and their skills with tarot are also impressive. She was professional, easy to talk to and she explained the cards in a way that made sense in my situation, and again was willing to answer questions and clarify when I asked, as well as just being ridiculously accurate. 

All in all Elysium is definitely my favourite spirit companion shop and they will never cease to amaze me with just how professional, reliable, friendly and dedicated they are to their work. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Quick question regarding your prebound spirits: when someone purchases a prebound spirit’s listing, is how the spirit feels taken into account, or do they have to go no matter what ? And if we’re worried about that, would it be better to just go for a reading about which spirit in the shop is most drawn to us ?

Hello there, thank you for the questions!

Yes, when a prebound listing is purchased, I always consult with the spirit in question.  If they feel any trepidation at all, even a little bit, I’ll cancel the order and inform the purchaser that they are not the right match for the spirit.  This is exactly why I have in my TOS that I can refuse service for any reason - to me, this counts as a very important, and perhaps the most important reason.

I think it’s also important to defend myself as to why I don’t use a form submission format for my sales.  There are pros and cons to each situation, and it gets a little silly to point fingers at people who don’t use form submissions as being inhumane or cruel (I used to perpetuate this myself, actually).  The fact of the matter is, in a form submission, people can lie.  

In my four years conjuring, I’ve had spirits go home to people who lied on their form and later broke down over email, and turned out to be absolute nightmares for both myself and the spirit who went home with them.  The fact of the matter is, form submissions do not prevent spirits from going home with someone who is not fit for them.  It only makes sure they go home with the person who has the most eloquent writing skills, who is most adept at convincing the conjurer and the spirit that they are living a life most fit for the spirit to live in, and who was confident enough to tell someone over the internet in great detail about their personal life.

In spirit companionship, as well as in human companionship, what really matters is not this red string of fate or a spiritual draw called a “calling.”  Anyone can respond to a calling.  And what a calling only indicates is an energetic resonance - more than one person can feel a calling towards a spirit, and vice versa.  It indicates a high likelihood that they’ll get along well with you and make a strong connection.  But what matters most is the work you put into the relationship.  The spirit and the human companion both need to show up and do the work, spend the time bonding, and make a real relationship out of something that just began with an energetic call.

If you are worried about whether or not a spirit feels a calling to you, I do highly recommend purchasing a Reverse Adoption Reading.  For the reading, I consult with all the spirits available in the shop and take note of who steps forward for you, and include a 1-card tarot reading to explore what that companionship may look like.  I also provide a $5 coupon code, so the price of the reading is taken off your purchase if you then choose to go forward with the companionship.

S has a deep understanding of divination and can see multiple different outcomes for those that come to her seeking understanding and foresight. Her physical tools are just that, tools that she incorporates to add a different layer to how she comes to know the mysteries of the future. She delves into a deep trance that helps her to enter the flow of Spirit in order to divine what her clients must know. She believes that those who perform divination and cater to their clients, telling them what they wish to know rather than what is needed to be communicated are subpar, but within the wakr they are rare.

She is blunt and to the point, she does not hold back any punches when she reads for someone and will tell it exactly as it is. "There's no need to coddle, everyone is resilient enough to hear the truth. Especially if they come to me asking for it. They know that we are true and our fortunes are insights into outcomes. If they wish to change their outcome, they must first change themselves."

As a Seer, she is blinded. Though her eyes work, she wears a thick, almost muslin type of bandage around her eyes that prohibits her from seeing physically. This is common for the seers. They wear this bandage in order to reduce visual cues that can block the flow that runs through them in readings. Though she can read as accurately and as deeply without the wrap, she says that it feels strange to not have it on, that it feels as if a part of her isn't there when she doesn't have it on.

When she reads for a client, she reads with an osteomancy set that she has spent her life collecting. She has bones from nearly all species within her realm (including some from other prominent figures from the Lamia themselves). Though she cannot see them, they still speak to her when they are thrown. They provide several different layers that she reads from since her set is so big. They are only a basis that she uses to connect. She throws the bones, and with hands held lightly over them, she begins to read deeply, bringing up insight and guidance from the bones, and the spirits around her. She does not hold anything back.

She is an older Lamia, with dusty brown scales speckled with raw umber tones. She wears her hair back in a thick braid that reaches to the bottom of her back. Her fingertips are marked with soot as if she grabbed a piece of charcoal from a dead fire. Across her chest she wears a bandage, like a bra. She wears bronze bangles up both of her arms and long, beaded necklaces around her neck. At her side, she has a small ornately decorated ritual dagger.
