In World War II, Nazi Germany established brothels in the concentration camps (Lagerbordell, Sonderbauten or Freudenabteilungen "Joy Divisions") to increase productivity among male inmates.
In the end, the camp brothels did not produce any noticeable increase in the prisoners' productivity levels, but instead, created a market for coupons among the camp VIPs.
Here's a few of the locations where this happened:
Mauthausen/Gusen, Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Neuengamme, Dachau, Dora-Mittelbau, Sachsenhausen, Flossenbürg and others
The women forced into these brothels came mainly from the women-only Ravensbrück concentration camp, except for Auschwitz, which "employed" its own prisoners.
In combination with the German military brothels in World War II, it is estimated that at least 34,140 female inmates were forced into sexual slavery during the Third Reich.
The brothels form the subject of "Das KZ Bordell" (The Concentration Camp Brothel) by Robert Sommer, a book that has been hailed as the first comprehensive account of a little known chapter of Nazi oppression in World War Two.
It explores the origins, structure and impact of the "Sonderbauten" (special buildings) run by Heinrich Himmler's SS in Germany and Nazi-occupied Europe.
"In the collective memory and written history of World War Two, the camp brothels were for a long time taboo," the 35-year-old Berliner told Reuters. "The former prisoners didn't want to talk about it: it was a difficult subject to handle."
"It didn't fit so easily into the postwar image of the concentration camps as monuments to suffering."
According to concentration camp survivors the women in those brothels were replaced every 6 months and the women who got replaced were killed in gas chambers.
It is important to note that we distinctively speak of sexual slavery here and of rape.
I wanted to point this out especially because I have been seeing liberal feminists talking about this topic, calling it "forced sex-work", "forced sex-labour" etc.
It is beyond disrespectful to call these female victims "sex-workers" or "employees" when their sexuality was brutally exploited, their diginities taken, their health was sacrificed, they were raped repeatedly and then executed after 6 months, even though they were promised to be released after those months. But those promises of course were never honored.
Liberal feminism and radical feminism differ a lot when it comes to views on the topic of prostitution but this does NOT excuse labeling victims of abuse and rape as "sex-workers" or calling their suffering "forced sex-labour."

yes i hate girl dinner and i hate [blank] girl trends but for a reason.
women are not allowed to be complex. women are not allowed to be nuanced or dynamic like men are. like.. misogynists believe that women aren’t capable of the same level of thought as men. to misogynists, women are only as deep as whatever category they’ve sorted them in.like they think people can’t be anything else besides their Category of Woman. and that’s what i hate about EVERYTHING on the internet right now is people are just.. accepting it? and making their own categories with more and more extreme brainrotting behaviors??? like, even the most Average Male is assumed to have depth and intelligence but the most interesting women are just “rat girls” or “clean girls” like GUYS!!! THAT IS KEEPING YOU DUMB!
like, being a woman is so complex. you are never just one type of Girl. stop letting the world believe you are nothing more than one type of Girl. you are a woman who is capable of literally anything.
and i also hate it because it’s a trend and all trends are consumerist and i hate money and capitalism. so two reasons.

Do not let men gaslight you into thinking that the reason women live longer than men is because we are cowards, prudes, rule followers etc. The female biology is an intricate expression of the evolution's magnum opus. We outlive men because of our far better immune systems. We mould lives within our wombs and nurture love. We live longer because the world would collapse without us.

the thing i think most chronically online queer people don't get is that yes there are femininity enforcers in terfblr, yes they show themselves when confronted with "too intense" nonconformity, and no - most of us don't tolerate their bigotry even as many of us will have reblogged good posts from them prior and even as many of us will continue to reblog from them either because another useful post or because we just aren't aware because we don't obsessively stalk one another like that

I have a problem with so many people going after other because we shared an opinion. I'm sorry my values don't align with your values, but I have a right to share what I want. People nowadays can say whatever they want and ask that we respect them, which might not align with everyone's beliefs, but as soon as somebody shares an opinion that doesn't align with others and someone doesn't like it because of that, they automatically don't get the same respect or freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is a basic human right. If you are going to ask for it, you need to understand others with different opinions than yours can too.

men be like "if women are really that intelligent, why are all major discoveries made by men? 🤓" as if they didn’t quite literally burn women alive if they were smart back in the day

I think more people on radblr should be talking about sweatshops, especially in the garment industry.
• Around 80% of sweatshop workers are women. Some employers force them to take birth control and pregnancy tests to avoid having to pay for maternity leave. Pregnant women are routinely denied sick leave to visit doctors, terminated from their contracts early, or left without any maternity leave when their short-term contracts are not renewed.
• Women are more likely than men to experience minimum wage violations. According to one study, "30 percent of the women workers in our sample experienced minimum wage violations, compared to 20 percent of the men". [Source: https://www.nelp.org/publication/broken-laws-unprotected-workers-violations-of-employment-and-labor-laws-in-americas-cities/ ]
• Indonesian women employees report that “girls in the factory are harassed by male managers. They come on to the girls, call them into their offices, whisper into their ears, touch them, bribe them with money and threaten them with firing if they don’t have sex with them.” [source: cleanclothes.org]
• "Toilet breaks are monitored, and some workers said they were flat out denied them, even when sick. The same goes for water and lunch breaks, both necessary to stay healthy when working 12+ hour days in a stuffy, overcrowded factory." 20% of women in sweatshops report experiencing sexual violence. [https://iwda.org.au/three-ways-garment-factories-violate-the-rights-of-women-and-how-its-allowed-to-happen/ ]
It's easy not to support this kind of abuse. Do not buy clothes first-hand. Only buy from thrift shops and second-hand apps, or find ethical brands and investigate where and how they make their clothing (hint: if a t-shirt costs $3, it's not ethical). Patch your old clothes. Consider learning basic sewing (it's not as difficult as it seems!)
I don't care how cheap Shein and Temu are. I don't care how much you think you need that specific Zara coat. Buying clothes directly harms women and avoiding it is a very easy way to help.
