🏹Jupiter in Gemini🏹
Jupiter will move into gemini after 12 years.
Gemini is intellectual, expressive, questioning, dual, sociable, liberal. Gemini is a mutable sign and is adaptable. Gemini is the sign of communication and words. They always express themselves through words. They symbolize states of consciousness associated with intellectualization. Diseases associated with the sign of the baby are: asthma, bronchitis, inflammation of the chest and lungs. The bones associated with the sign of Gemini are the carpals and metacarpals, the humerus, the humerus, the scapula, the clavicle and the upper ribs.
Throughout history, the twin symbolizes Eros and Anteros. The two stars that exist in this sign are Castor and Pollux. There are supposed to be flames of fire around their heads and when this happens the storm on the sea dies down. The old Kop name for twins is supposed to be "Pri Mahi" - which means completely connected, united. Vows are associated with Gemini and Mercury.
The sign of Gemini is two-bodied and double. The twins do not hold hands, they are separate souls, they move from left to right. The sign of Gemini is difficult because of its dual nature. This is a multifaceted, changeable personality. Geminis are outspoken, arrogant, hyperactive. They are bright and good speakers. They like artificial gems. They can often be impatient with people because they are very quick-tempered and don't like things to go slowly. They are also very restless individuals and cannot stay in one room for long periods of time. They spend their whole lives searching for an ideal that they cannot see because it is right in front of them.
Best qualities: diversity, willingness to change. Cons: Lack of consistency across the board. They change quickly, as if they have two inner voices: one says do and the other says leave.
Jupiter represents optimism, wisdom, growth, learning, happiness, exploration, charity, compassion, inspiration, meaning, path and faith. It includes believers, rich people, employees, big banks, judges, fortune hunters. It is associated with the liver, bile. Jupiter rules blood, veins, arteries, thighs, hips.

You can meet someone who helped you through things (usually Jupiter brings mentors, teachers and people from whom we can learn). We can spend more time in institutions that are more isolating than hospitals, etc. If you are going through a difficult experience or illness, this is a sign that things will turn around for the better. Since this is also the house of the most difficult battles and tasks, you can fight with yourself a lot. You can gain a lot through spiritual experiences and psychic experiences. You can come to a greater awareness of yourself and what it means to you. You can take better care of your property and you can get back something you thought was lost a long time ago. There can also be connections with a parent of the opposite sex than yourself. You can do more sports or decide to be more dedicated to it and seek pleasure with one person.
Scorpio Rising
Jupiter will bring you an emotional transformation that will rebirth you and make you a better person. You can experience a deep connection with one person and have a deeper intimate relationship with them. Things can also be related to inheritance, you can get some property or something in you to your advantage. You can gain a lot from other people, especially money from other people is at stake here. Many opportunities and things can come through others. You can also get a lot of money from others and it is also good to invest money. You can gain a lot from a partnership or marriage. If you are involved in any lawsuits now, the outcome of them will be good.
Sagittarius Rising
Jupiter will bring you things related to others it mainly relates to the relationships you have with others (any). If you are already in a relationship, you can get married or get engaged (engagement usually happens under this aspect). You meet a lot of spiritual people who can help you and show you the way or someone who is more open, open-minded, you can get along better with friends. Jupiter represents marriage more, so this can be more in the foreground than the relationship itself (depending on the aspects). During this time, you can also attract someone who suits you more on a personal level. You can get to know your other side better and also notice what really suits you and what doesn’t. A friend with whom you are close can travel for a long time, or someone with whom you are closer.
Capricorn Rising
Jupiter can bring you more opportunities and new things related to your hobbies, entertainment and spending your free time. You can go into a more special relationship or fall in love with someone. You will want to express yourself in some way, and let the world see you. You can be more sociable and if single, meet new romantic partners. You could fall in love during this transit, but if there aren't any other grounding influences. it's most likely you'll just date a lot. You can also have someone who is not from your country or someone you meet on a trip. You can be more creative and do things related to creativity and you can also be more recognizable. A good time also for gambling or any related opportunities. Your passions for what you do will show more. Income can come from real estate and property. U can publish more things. This can also be a good period to have a child/get pregnant.
Aquarius Rising
Jupiter can bring you more joy. You can easily go more outside your comfort zone. You can focus on your routine or things related to you and your things. Artists of any kind are rewarded when they boldly fuel their creations with authenticity and freely express themselves. You will get prosperity and accomplishments with your ability to win over opponents. However, it can give expansion in loan and debt-related issues because of your ignorance. During this transit period, you will realize the value of the financial management.
Pisces Rising
you can go on a trip that will be longer and last longer. Your home can be somewhere else for a while and you might even find a place where you will feel the best. You can find a place that gives you a feeling of home and warmth. It can also mean finding a dream house or making wishes come true and also remodeling your home. You can feel better at home and have a better relationship with your parents (especially with mom). You can also better see things that ended and understand why they ended. Maybe you and your family can have some kind of family tradition about what you will do this time.

Tumblr media
synopsis: The prestigious Sumeru Akademiya was filled with interesting and unique characters. But none of them came close to the man shrouded in rumors and loneliness, Dottore.
includes: dottore w/ gn! reader
notes: Of course I can! This was very fun to write, as I love this idea so much. I hope you enjoy this!
Tumblr media
Even though you had grown up in Sumeru amongst the greatest scholars and had access to knowledge, you never wanted to become a scholar and go to the Akademiya. You had seen people suffer for years over their research and take half of their lives to graduate. In no way did you want a strict and consuming life like that. You were quite content with being an adventurer for the Guild, as you were very strong and could hold your own easily. That was until you found out your parents had signed you up for the Akademiya without your knowledge, and all your items were moved to a dorm room there. You were highly upset and wanted to leave immediately, but something stopped you. Maybe it was because you were already here, and it’d be a pain to go back and face your parents immediately. And maybe some of those smart scholars could help you with some fighting techniques. So you decided to stay to test the waters, just to see what the Akademiya life was like.
You still didn’t try that hard though, and instead struck deals with other scholars. You found out that many of them weren’t very strong. They couldn’t test their devices, or go to old ruins or dangerous places for their research by themselves without paying a large fee to hire someone. So instead, you would do anything fighting-related for them, and they would help you with the work in return. It was really good actually, whenever you were partnered for some group project with some random person, you’d do all the fighting while they did the academics. This resulted in good results from their research, so the professors at least briefly knew of your existence out of the mass amount of students. It helped that you were patient and kind, so many people grew to like you. This is why many people ran to warn you about the man named Dottore you happened to be partnered with this time.
Apparently, he was a teal-haired man with red eyes who always donned a mask, so no one knew what his real face looked like. Rumors about his dubious experiments and malpractice always floated about but there was never any concrete evidence to convict him. Despite this, he was so incredibly smart that even the top professors acknowledged his intelligence. He rarely left his room, but when he did, the hundreds of students in the hallways would scamper to the side, leaving a clear-cut path for him to walk. No one would dare talk to him, and some were even scared to step close to his dorm room after Dottore’s only roommate left, saying they’d rather live on the streets than with that “madman.” While many people begged you to ask the professor for a change of partners, you were intrigued by this so-called freak and monster. Maybe since you’ve already seen all kinds of monsters in the wild so you weren’t that scared, but you wanted to meet this Dottore.
You walked down the hallway in which Dottore’s room was. It was a normal hallway, with normal rooms, and Dottore’s room all the way at the end of the hall was no different. It was a bit funny to know how people were scared to do such a mundane thing. And so, you raised your hand to knock but before you could, the door opened a crack and a distinct red eye peered at you. How’d he know you were there? You faltered a second but composed yourself, ready to make your introduction, but he sharply interrupted you.
“I already know who you are, and why you’re here. No need to waste time,” Dottore said dryly, noticing as you blinked awkwardly at his less than pleasant attitude. He didn’t say anything else as he eased the door open some more, letting you come in.
It was darker than normal because much of the curtains had been pulled shut. You gazed at your surroundings. His room was more of a workshop and lab than a living space. Different kinds of tools scattered about, clipboards and papers, oh, and he even had Ruin Guard parts?! Wait, was that a syringe?
Dottore eyed you carefully, arms crossed. He was already secretly surprised at your boldness, as no one besides him had stepped foot in here in ages. In truth, he hoped to drive you off with his usual rudeness and questionable room, so you’d go and ask the professor to let you have another partner, so then he could work alone in peace. Oh, how wrong he was.
“Wow! Your room is so cool!”
A moment passed in silence as Dottore had to make sure he didn’t hear things. “What…?”
“I’ve never seen any other student’s room look like this!” You bounced over to a random desk and squinted at some papers. “And I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone research this kinda stuff before,” you hummed, trying to hold it up to the light to read.
It took Dottore another moment to process what you said, but he quickly grabbed the notes from your hand. “These aren’t for your eyes, idiot,” he scowled, for once not sure what to say because no one had ever said that to him. He became even more confused when all you did was laugh.
This was Dottore? You were prepared for a lot worse from the rumors, but definitely not this. And furthermore, he was quite attractive even though he had a smart mouth. You shook your head, feeling as though this would be quite interesting.
“Hey, why don’t we start that project already? I promise I’ll be of good help to you.” Thus began your days as Dottore’s assistant in Sumeru Akademiya.
Dottore was still internally shocked that you willingly volunteered yourself as his partner. Initially was super suspicious of you - you had to be lying, or playing a prank, or planning to leak all his work to outsiders. Barely said a word and brushed you off at first, but found it harder to keep up the act when you continued to be sweet and patient with him. Eventually gave up when you kept barging into his dorm for his company and beating the shit out of his tormentors in front of him.
After the two of you finished the first group project, his chest twinged a bit, a feeling he only felt long ago, when he was chased out of his town with pitchforks and his first few months of being shunned at the Akademiya. He questioned why. Oh - it was because now that the project was over, you’d never talk to him again. But this thought only flitted in his mind, as he refused to think about it any longer, quickly resuming his research. Oh, how he would be wrong again. A few days later, there was a familiar banging on his door, and he unconsciously moved quicker than usual to open it.
“Oh hey Dotty! Move over, I gotta move my stuff into your room?”
“What?” This conversation was starting to feel too similar to the first one he had with you.
“I’m your new roommate starting today, of course! Haha!” You laughed merrily as you handed him the transfer papers. He was too shocked to berate you.
“Hey, is your bed the top bunk bed or the bottom one? I can’t tell because all your science stuff is on both.”
You and your unusualness were going to be the death of him.
After Dottore warms up to you, it is impossible for him to let go. You will forever be with him. Unfortunately pre-relationship, he comes off like an asshole despite him trying his best since he actually likes you. When he tries to convey how he’s glad you’re his roommate now, he probably ends up saying something dumb and insulting, and then cringes in private later at his horrid social skills. Please tell him your feelings first, he keeps screwing it up and you’re probably tired of that. When you confess, he acts so confident but is questioning himself and you so badly - how can you really love someone like him? Buries these conflicting thoughts and is genuinely eager to finally someone who cares. He was one who has no one else in this world besides himself, but he now you too.
Room dates!! This man doesn’t like leaving his room due to all the stares he gets, and he doesn’t like when you’re not with him, so a lot of dates are in the comfort of his room. Well, you’re the one who made it comfortable, after organizing all his messes and buying new decorations and soft blankets for cuddling. I don’t know how the Akademiya is structured, but imagine you and Dottore lying against each, looking out from your high-floor dorm room window out at the city at night <3. (Dottore is in no way a sap for this kind of stuff, but it makes you happy, so he can deal with it.) Dates where you help him tinker with stuff. The two of you buy something, dismantle it, and then rebuild it for fun. Dates where he rambles on for hours about his new theories and future experiments, and the plans that he will fulfill. I don’t know if you can consider experimenting in his room a date, but yeah. Also, you spoon feeding him food because if you don’t he’ll forget to eat.
Dates where he takes you to different locations and makes you fight enemies that he wants the material and drops of. You make him hide behind rocks so he doesn’t get hurt, but he secretly takes notes of all your fascinating moves. Would give you advice after on how to save the most stamina and energy, which moves would give you the most power. Honestly, he could make you a lot stronger with just his observations and words. Dates where he takes you to ancient domains and ruins. Dottore takes notes of all the ancient scribbles and puzzles for his research while you fight for both of your lives. Since he’s a student he still has more free time, he just chooses to spend it on research. Dates where you forcibly drag him out for picnics at night so no one can bother the two of you or stare. Tells you about how all the stars in the sky are lies, apparently. Thinks reciting complicated formulas and scientific facts is romantic.
Dottore carries you easily in the Akademiya. He could do two different reports on the same topic and make them completely different. If you ask him to do so, he’ll moan and groan but ultimately get it done quickly because he’s a genius, and also he loves you too much and would kill a man if you really wanted him to. You don’t need any other partner besides him, Dottore insists. No one can explain the concepts better than him, and no one would take hours to explain them to you either. But he is a bit competitive so if you happen to do better on a test or assignment, Dottore would get all pouty. He likes being the smarter one in the relationship. (You have to convince him that he definitely is and that you got this far with his help.) Also, you taking off his mask so you can kiss his face. This takes so much trust, and it probably happens first in the pitch darkness where you still can’t see his face yet.
Times where the two of you make fun of the people who bullied you. Dottore can be real nasty especially when people are mean to you. You have to calm him down. Study dates happen quite often as well. But you have trouble focusing on all of those hard things so you try to distract and bother Dottore by wrapping your arms around him and snuggling into his neck. He gets all grouchy but gives into cuddles after some persistence. Even though you still didn’t have much desire to graduate from the Akademiya, you vowed to remain Dottore’s loyal assistant for however long. You hoped these days would continue forever, but all you knew was that no matter where Dottore went, you’d follow after, much to his pleasure. Neither of you would have it any other way <3.

REVIEW: Heaven Official's Blessing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WARNING: Contains numerous SPOILERS, so CAUTION!
Tumblr media
<< REFERS TO THE UNREVISED VERSION >> This is the author's third work and also her longest. TGCF, unlike SV which seems to focus more on the emotional and MDZS which focuses more on themes such as forgiveness and overcoming, seems to pay more attention to the feelings and relationships between the characters. The fact that the MC, Xie Lian, has lived for just over 800 years is definitely not something that can be easily overcome. Having lived, felt and related to numerous types of people over such a long period of time, it's completely natural that he would end up making extremely difficult decisions or be driven to almost irreparable psychological damage. In fact, I still find it incredible and truly admirable how he managed to overcome and move on even in the midst of many things. Even if there were moments in the current timeline when you can see that some of those wounds were merely treated, but never truly and completely healed. Most of his relationships in the beginning are completely in ruins, and don't seem to have any chance of recovery. But even with all that, he has still managed, not to mend, but to patch up many wounds that have emerged over the years. The other characters were also written and developed in a very human way, which was an unparalleled point of attraction in my opinion. What really stuck with me was that no one in this story can be described as entirely good or evil. Everyone walks a fine line between these two sides, fighting and doing the best they can for themselves, their loved ones and for a hope of happiness. All their decisions, actions and emotions are extremely relatable if you simply put yourself in their shoes without having any kind of prejudice in mind. They show that we can all reach a point of no return if we are pushed to the limit. Moving on, another crucial point in this story is undoubtedly the romance. It was developed in a very sweet way. So sweet that you end up melting with every interaction. HuaLian really is that fairytale couple, who have an enviable and perfect love, with a true sense of eternity. It's completely impossible to look at them and not feel like you're floating or have that warm feeling in your chest. To tell you the truth, I think they're the couple with the cutest vibe out of the three by this author. I'd say they're like that teenage romance or the taste of first love. That love that burns, that warms you, that won't let you forget it. A gentle love that makes you feel complete and totally welcomed. With this person, you feel like the whole world could turn its back on you and everything would still be fine. Because that person, that person alone is enough. That person you know and feel will never, ever abandon you and will always be there for you, supporting you no matter what. That's how HuaLian makes you feel. That's how they are. A simple, sweet and engaging definition of the word love. TGCF is also a very good story in terms of holding your attention. There are lots of things happening all the time, well-developed schemes, backstories to be discovered, new characters and a whole range of extremely attractive contexts that you can't take your eyes off. Everything was very well written and crafted, with nothing that seemed tedious or unnecessary throughout. MXTX, for me, is an author with a real talent for writing. Everything is very captivating and can hit you hard if you choose to give it a chance. Well, I'll stop here, as I feel I have nothing more to say. I hope you give this baby a try!

I headcanon Sebastian from stardew valley as autistic. I do not think his character was written with the intent of being autistic, I think he can be read that way.
While he's not the only villager who is more of a loner, he's the only one who has friends that he has a clear disinterest in hanging out with- Penny being very shy but regularly tutoring Jas and Vincent and possibly avoids other due to her family life, and Shane being antisocial due to his mental health and drinking problems. He has a line of dialogue apologising because he doesn't know what else to say and while this happens to everyone in real life I think it's significant in a game where you can only talk to characters once a day and they have limited dialogue they can give you, implying that he's extremely awkward and possibly struggles with communication
He shows a strong preference for rainy days which could allude to sensory issues with bright sunny days, as does him living in a basement- no windows, isolated from the rest of the house so therefore quieter. This could explain why Robin has put him in the basement despite building the house from the ground up and could have easily made him a room upstairs. (I will note that he doesn't like his room at I think he says it makes him depressed at some point, though this could be a "the least worst option" sort of situation".) Demetrius' general dislike of him and his issues with Maru could be caused by autism too. It could also help explain why Sebastian has so much resentment for Maru, as she has something that he will never have; a neurotypical brain and being generally outgoing and well liked.
not to mention it's common for autistic people to remain living at home older than their allistic peers do, potentially he might not be able to care for himself well enough to be able to move out. He also doesn't hold a traditional job, having chosen not to go to college because he prefers his freelance work behind the safety of a screen. there's also a line of dialogue during a festival which says something to the effect of taking a break from all the people that I belive is in the fair?
Obviously these traits are being examined in a vacuum, if he was a real person and this was the information I was given I would say maybe but likely not, however as deep as the characters are they are still story tools designed to give the impression of real humans that are likeable and relatable. There's likely a number of different neurodivergencies that he could fall under based on the traits he was given and depending on if the player is neurodivegent themselves and how they veiw the world
however he's my favourite character so therefore he's autistic BC I said so >:))

Moving to a text post because it's more comfortable. But hold on...
Tumblr media
I mean no offense, but no one needs permission or guidelines (especially from another fan) for how they're "allowed" to enjoy AA and to get berated for "not understanding the character" when they understand him perfectly fine. Just differently.
Is it truly that hard to fathom that some people enjoy the actual character and the dynamic that happens between him and Tav/Durge and not (just) the sexy stuff?
Is it truly that hard to imagine that there are people who enjoy AA outside of the (very mild) sexual content?
Do you only see the ascended ending as some sexy fantasy with nothing else to offer?
Larian themselves did not call it his "bad" ending. The only person who said that was a certain cowriter. Said cowriter was not saying it in an official capacity and was sharing their opinions.
Want to know something? The spawn ending felt more like failing him to me. And that's simply just how it felt. Can't change that as there's no reason to.
Anyone can claim how Tav is "supposed" to feel during a certain scene or event. Even some one shiny and "official". But that does not make it canon information if it isn't actually stated in the game. It really doesn't mean anything in relation to roleplay, except that it's just one way out of many to interpret that game event.
No writer, cowriter, or fellow fan can actually tell someone how that person's Tav feels because only that person can say. That's what roleplaying is.
Regardless of the co-writer's intentions for a specific message or agenda in the story, unfortunately, due to the nature of the game and individual experience, every person is going to interpret the same information differently. As they are supposed to. That's the point of the game.
Yes, there are people who ascend him just because it's sexy. I have seen people admit things, like how they'd never ascend him or could never do "that" to him for roleplay, but they still ascend him just to see the romance scene. I've seen people admit they'd never ascend him for roleplay reasons or dislike AA overall, but are glad to find clips of the romance scene online so they can still enjoy it. Honestly if that's how they enjoy the character and game, that's their choice.
But the people who usually do that are not the people who call themselves AA fans. Because the people who do that don't typically enjoy that version of him, only parts of it. And that's fine! But you cannot lump us all together.
I don't know a single AA fan who prefers the ending SOLELY for the sexual content or the "sexy Vampire" fantasy. I don't know a single AA fan's Tav who ascended him solely because they wanted to be with the "sexy vampire". There's always a roleplay reason well beyond that. Unfortunately, no matter what any cowriter says, personal interpretation and roleplay comes first, thanks to the nature of this game.
And, while I appreciate the way you and the cowriter and many others interpret his story, I cannot and do not interpret it that way, based on my own trauma experiences, my own biases, my own individual understanding, AND my own desire for the kind of narrative I want to tell. And that isn't just me. That goes for every single person as an individual who plays the game.
Like it or not, this is a roleplaying game. Heavy on the roleplay. With this game specifically, the individual player's interpretation of canon information comes first before any writer's intent. That does not render the cowriter's agenda null and void, as many people (like yourself) see it the same way, but it does mean that there is more than one way to interpret this story, and ignoring or berating others for simply connecting to his story in a different way, saying it's "provocative and untrue", is quite honestly inconsiderate and condescending. And wrong.
Yes, posting anything to the internet is going to warrant a response from people who disagree. Everyone who posts anything online knows that. However, there's zero reason to actively be the one saying the negative things. Especially when it's about something innocent and fun.

THAT WAS PERFECT. SPOILERS FOR EP. 4 OF OUR SKYY 2 x BBS X ATOTS.
What can I say. I don't really know what to say. I'm going to blather because otherwise I'm gonna start really crying in this Starbucks.
I have so much Aof on my mind right now, especially with wrapping up not just this Our Skyy 2 series, but Bad Buddy, ATOTS, and finishing off He's Coming To Me last night (which I haven't intentionally processed yet, because I want to do a little rewatching before I get any passing words down).
Another thing I wanted to consider before starting on the episode is that while I've been so hugely focused on Pat and Pran, that I was also saying goodbye to my very first Aof couple in Phupha and Tian. I watched ATOTS WELL before even ever thinking about doing a Thai BL watchlist. I literally only watched ATOTS to get to know Earth and Mix before the premiere of Moonlight Chicken, close to the time that I joined Tumblr last summer. And I was fucking HOOKED after that.
I mean, before I get into my thoughts on this episode, I think what I'm feeling is similar to how I felt when I finished Bad Buddy. I just feel really fulfilled as an Asian that an Asian director is exploring all of these monumental themes in such an in-depth, loving, empathic, and creative way, vis à vis the lens of queer Asian characters in Asia dealing with issues very familiar to my own culture, and my watching how these characters, vis à vis the writing and direction of Aof himself, navigate those worlds.
What I'm realizing about this episode are a number of themes -- again, themes, as I wrote this morning to dear @wen-kexing-apologist, that I see Aof returning to time and time again. (I'm feeling really surprisingly emotional still, so this post is going to ramble a bit, the writing is not calming things down as it usually does.)
I think what's getting me really emotional here is that this episode was about transcendence -- HUGE transcendence on the part of Phupha, but on all the other guys, too. But in regards to how the transcendence STARTED, and from whom and to whom it started: it all happened when Pat and Pran arrived in Pha Pun Dao, and experienced Tian and Phupha, and vice versa. All of them experienced each other, and all of them changed because of it. Because they had found queer community amongst each other, they were able to share their experiences with new people, compare stories and emotions, and grow the better because of it.
Something I didn't realize last week was (or maybe I did, and I can't remember writing about it, because I'm a jumble): Pat and Pran moved again, Hegel-ian style, as I wrote in my massive BBS thesis. They went from Bangkok to Pha Pun Dao, a nicely big trip. Pat and Pran move, independently and together, always searching for their synthesis, which they can't QUITE find, because their families are in the way.
But they came REAL close to a public synthesis in this episode, and we know that they were essentially on another out honeymoon in Pha Pun Dao last week and this week, knowing that they were in the company of another queer couple, as @wen-kexing-apologist so sharply noted last night.
And then -- vis à vis Phupha's permission, a new modality of finding openness and honesty -- they came as close to a public synthesis, together, in the play as they could possibly find. While still closeted to almost everyone around them. They were still able to provide cover for fucking Dissaya. But they were as out as they could be between BBS episodes 11 and 12.
And that's just Pat and Pran's transcendence journey. With each Pat and Pran having separate conversations with Tian and Phupha in Pha Pun Dao, they could TRANSCEND THEMSELVES, their biases about their relationship with each other, and reflect on what holds people back in their own relationship. Indirectly, Pat and Pran were learning about what was holding Phupha back in being open and honest with Tian, and reflecting back to Chief on how THEY related to that (as communicative and reflecting youngsters), and Phupha could see THEIR processing, and learn from that. Pat and Pran could process because THEY found queer community, as much as Phupha and Tian did.
So: back to Aof and his themes. The theme of community building. How building a community and strength in numbers can help you grow.
It was so meaningful to hear Phupha comment that no one understood Phupha and Tian better than Pat and Pran. BECAUSE YOU NEED COMMUNITY TO GROW TOGETHER, AND THAT IS WHAT AOF IS SAYING FOR EQUITY FOR THE ASIAN QUEER COMMUNITY: FIND EACH OTHER AND BE TOGETHER, STRONGER. There are so many forces working against that community in each country of the continent, in their own ways.
And what happens when that happens, when people find community? You get strength and growth. You get a story like Phupha, who UTTERLY TRANSCENDED HIMSELF IN THIS EPISODE, MY GAWD. And Phupha did a Bad Buddy, he did a Hegelian thesis transition. HE MOVED. HE CROSSED HIS BORDERS and WENT TO THE CITY. As Pat and Pran, in episode 11, had to go to the eco-village -- Phupha needed to go to the city to close this newly awakened circle in him to confirm his relationship with Tian, and to find his sturdiness and commitment in living his life to take care of his partner.
Phupha found his courage through Pat, seeing how utterly OPEN and sappy Pat was to Pran. Phupha found that HE COULD STILL BE HIMSELF through Pran, hearing and seeing Pran's own reticence, Pran's own inclination to hold himself back. Phupha saw himself and Tian in Pat and Pran, and saw how a different paradigm could play out, simply with different mindsets.
I'm feeling really, just.... I am feeling really deeply grateful that we got to close out all of this on Phupha's story. Especially discussed among the friends (@lurkingshan, @shortpplfedup, @bengiyo, @wen-kexing-apologist, @ginnymoonbeam, and @kyr-kun-chan) -- could the ATOTS story have held up WITHOUT Pat and Pran?
Maybe? But, but, but. That wasn't Aof's point -- AT ALL.
Aof's point was to hammer home the equity of community. How you can be a BETTER PERSON when OTHER PEOPLE are helping you reflect, with THEIR PERSPECTIVES, on your life and your struggles.
There's a part of me that thinks here that there's a parable regarding the importance of having the freedom TO BE OUT. Each of the four guys -- Tian, Phupha, Pat, and Pran -- have their own ways of dealing with outness, and what it means to them. Each of them has their own group of people that would be affected by their outness.
And, fucking Christ, how beautiful. What we got to see in this episode is the internal reckoning of each character -- BUT ESPECIALLY PHUPHA, BECAUSE HE'S THE ELDEST AND WAS LIKELY EXPERIENCING THE MOST DIFFICULTY IN ADAPTING BECAUSE OF HIS PAST EXPERIENCES that we know nothing about (Uncle Jim, Uncle Jim).
We see Pran's reckoning at the moment of the play -- that he's gonna fool Dissaya. We see Pat not giving a toss for Ming. We see Tian WANTING Phupha in with his parents.
Each of the guys are in a different place and a different moment with their micro-circles. They needed to talk about their own stories with each other, and to hear each other tell their own stories, to build this story together of community.
They needed to each, vis à vis all of each other, that each one of them, individually, do need to compromise -- but not to GIVE UP THEIR LIVES for each other, or for anyone else in their lives.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of these guys needed to give up their lives to compromise to each other's demands or characteristics. Pat and Pran do not need to use their lives to repay the fucking foibles of their parents. They're gonna play their parents until their parents are ready, which I love and think that that's very realistic and empathic from the lens of Asian filial piety. (I LOVE @grapejuicegay's analysis -- and I like it, and am going with, the read that Pran needs to get separation from Dissaya through Singapore. Boy, do I ever fucking relate to that.)
Phupha doesn't need to use his life of reticence and secrecy to repay... what -- the world's bias against the queer community? Thailand's bias against public servants being out and open?
And Tian's is helping him through that. But Phupha couldn't have done this ONLY with Tian, because Tian has his own needs and his own issues, his own stubbornness, that Phupha and Tian need to contend with as a couple.
Phupha needed the big push, he needed the push of the community that Pat and Pran provided, and the objective REFLECTION that Pat and Pran provided vis à vis the play, to TRANSCEND himself and get to a place of openness and comfort.
And he found that, in the arms of Tian, but also in the acceptance of Tian's parents and Tian's community in Tul.
I think it is really ripping my heart apart that the close of ATOTS was told with the story of Bad Buddy. I actually don't see it ending any other way. And we didn't get a close of Bad Buddy, per se. We're getting the close of Pat and Pran and OhmNanon, for sure, but we know the boys will find ways to move forward in our beloved world of fiction, wherever they go.
We do know that Phupha has committed, openly, in family and community, to love and care for Tian, Tian with the borrowed heart and the thousandth star on his finger -- and that's exactly an ending for ATOTS that I could have asked for.
I have more to process... but mom needs a break and a cocktail tonight. I could not have asked for anything more than this -- I am so fulfilled.

Watching Luca (2021) in movie theaters, 3 years after its initial release really invoked something in me.
When I was originally into the movie, it was a year after quarantine and so many shifts and changes were happening not only in my life, but in the world. This movie was there for me, and so was the fandom and the friends I made through it.
Now, I’m 18 and graduating school which felt like it was eons away when I was a huge fan of this movie.
I had forgotten some moments that still caught me by surprise years later. It was refreshing to meet these characters that held such importance to me once again after so many years in an empty movie theater. I think past me would’ve paid attention to every line, every motion, eye movement, and other details during the movie and made some tweet freaking out about it.
Now I get to have the pleasure to watch it for what it is, a kids movie.
The movie presents such a simple theme, exploring the unknown in life. The characters explore life on the surface, having never experienced anything of the sorts. It made me realize how much I had been taking for granted in life. Walking with the ground underneath my feet, tasting my favorite foods, learning about how the Earth spins, and having a family who supports my aspirations. I will now have a reminder in the back of my mind every time I find myself enjoying the simple aspects of life to not take them for granted.
However, another seemingly “simple” theme Luca presents is the theme of friendship. Luca Paguro only has two friends during this entire film, yet so much conflict emerges from this. What seems to be a simple task, to have one friend by your side, proves to be difficult even for kids. Luca and Alberto fight about what they want to get out of life, and conclude that it is impossible to be friends when you are too different from each other.
Surprisingly, the aftermath of the fight did not move me to tears or sadden me. (Don’t get me wrong, my jaw was open when Luca called Alberto a sea monster) I could relate to these kids, sometimes it’s hard to be friends with people who think too differently from you. I could find parts of myself in their positions countless times throughout my life. I would be like Luca, trying to physically do actions to ignite an alliance again. Or on the other hand, I’d be Alberto and blame myself for everything and not attempt to make amends by isolating myself.
Yet, the part that really moved me was when Alberto went back for Luca, who was pushing through the race to prove his loyalty to Alberto. Despite their several disputes, they’re still on each other’s sides. Despite their differences, they still love each other so much to the extent they’d endanger themselves for each other. Despite everything, they still would do anything for one another.
Tumblr media
And as displayed in this dramatic gif above, they’d even leave each other for the other to be happy. It is clear throughout the movie Alberto has trouble detaching from Luca and has gone through a very dramatic event in his life regarding his dad abandoning him. Yet in the span of what I’m assuming is two weeks, Alberto meets Luca and his world is changed. He grows as a person, and learns to let the people he loves move away from him.
While one could argue Giulia’s dad is now Alberto’s new father, I’d still like to think Luca had such an affect on Alberto that he helped heal Alberto. This kid he just met had such a hold on him, he learned to be better because of his love for him.
The movie ends with a bittersweet finale. Luca moves away to the big city, attending school with his new friend Giulia to nourish his curiosity and new found love for learning. Alberto stays with Giulia’s dad in Portorosso, becoming a fisherman with him and enjoying the new routine to his life. They live separate lives without each other being there, but still find ways to include each other in their routines. They write letters, describe their new discoveries, and send gifts to each other. They find happiness in this settlement and anticipate the next time they can see each other.
When I left the movie theater and stood waiting for my ride outside in the wind, I felt like a hole had just opened in my chest.
I watched the branches and leaves shake in the wind, just like they did in the movie. I watched people walk by just like they did in the movie. Yet, there was some sort of feeling of envy in me.
I understood the movie’s themes, I understood I should be grateful, I understood it’s hard to navigate relationships. Yet, I was so jealous of these fictional characters getting to walk away with people who loved them so deeply. Something as simple as getting a rusty bike for their friend after winning a kid’s race made me feel so envious. I wanted the chance to prove my love for someone like that or to be the one receiving such admiration.
The last time I watched this movie being 3 years ago, nothing has changed between then and now. I still haven’t found my Luca or Alberto.
And I know, it sounds like I have no friends or I’m not thankful for them. I do have friends and I am extremely grateful for them, but it’s only once in a lifetime are you going to find someone who connects with you as much as those two did. Someone who heals you the way those two did. Someone who stays by your side, no matter your differences ,the way those two did. I’d hate to rush something like that, but I’ve been waiting for the past 3 years for someone to see me the way they saw each other.
Of course, the whole gay-sea monster identity parallel definitely comes into play here. But instead of having someone there to love your identity and understand you, it feels like I’m wanted dead for $300,000 dollars for who I am, like they were at the start of the movie. And also, the city’s population is the population of America.
Although I have been dragging my old age through out this sad movie review/diary entry, I am 18! I am graduating! I will be able to explore a new and different surface above the water that is college without anyone knowing my real identity. I’ll discover new things about the world and myself without anyone holding me back.
Though, I know I cannot rush these things and I won’t find my person the first day of college. I’ll have to wait patiently and trust that destiny connects me with the person I need at the time I’ll need them most.
However, a part of me hopes that one day, I’ll be able watch this movie with my own Luca or Alberto by my side.

OVERALL? GREAT MOVIE! 10/10 I LOVE GAY PEOPLE!

Earned Second Chances
Looking back through kot chapters the other day, realizing this idea that Chika has had with Uzuki about having to move on from the past, that the past won’t disappear so all we can do is act from where we are right now, all that is the same attitude we saw Satowa have in ch.104 towards herself, when she expressed her regret over the way she treated Chika in the past, and came to the realization that there was nothing she could do about that past treatment, all she can do is act in the here and now and never let go of his hand again (a promise she’s kept). Like these panels are near paralleling what people’s attitudes have been to Uzuki lately, and something that Uzuki himself seems to be trying to take in and believe himself worthy of. This also honestly could relate quite well to Tomoe, though on a very different scale as it has for Satowa and Uzuki. Also an interesting difference is that this is something Satowa took on entirely herself, this feeling of responsibility and realization that it was up to her to change her current actions and be better now and in the future despite the past, because there’s nothing she can do about the past. Whereas Uzuki has to be told that he doesn’t just have to wallow in self-hatred, not even he deserves that, and that he and Chika both need to move on because that’s all they can do now. That’s really all there is to do. Chika is the one with enough maturity and desire to not let this have power over him anymore to be able to say that to Uzuki. So interesting that in some ways, both Chika and Satowa have realized this about certain situations, while Uzuki is in a very different place to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, this isn’t the first time redemption has been explored in this manga. Not nearly. Hiro, Akira, and Chiharu (Satowa’s mom) have all had similar treatment. It isn’t really about righting past wrongs, cuz sometimes you can’t, it’s all about moving forward and treating each other better now with the acknowledgment that the past happened but doesn’t have to determine their future.
As Isaki mentioned in ch.124, it really does take great strength to be able to face what you’ve done to people in the past, and also great strength to give people second chances. But it is also extremely powerful to decide to act differently now than you did in the past. It is powerful that Chika and Satowa can both realize and be in a place to not let the past hold the reins on their present life and try to move on from it, with the people who have wronged them and with themselves. And both Chika and satowa have had to find ways of forgiving themselves and moving forward for their mistakes in the past for a better future, and knowing they deserve that which was a hard journey for both, as well as having to do that with other people.
I think this is what makes characters getting second chances so believable. They aren’t just given a free pass and forgiven. Their past actions are acknowledged by both parties, it just doesn’t stop either of them from moving forward and deciding a better future. Slates aren’t wiped clean, a conscious decision is made to move beyond the past. This also involves in depth understanding of the characters on both sides, has to be mutual, and forgiveness and second chances feel so earned. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t have to be, both parties just have to put in the work and open to doing so. And again, it just feels so earned. It’s not that the characters who made mistakes aren’t at fault, it’s that the people they wronged are able and willing to move on from the past together with them.
Anyway, this was far longer of a ramble than I intended and I kinda lost focus, but there are a lot of mistakes made and redemption to be earned in this manga, and it works so incredibly well.

After getting boths endings for Pathologic 2 I have a lot of feelings about the Kin and how they are portrayed in relation to the endings
Throughout the game the Kin are portrayed in such a way that really makes it feel like the game wants you to dislike them in some way. You see that the townspeople have a lot of disdain for them, and they aren't really cared about by anyone except the player and Artemy if you choose to play him that way. They're enslaved by the Olgimskys and Big Vlad is just a piece of shit about it, but in that way that big company owners don't really care about their workforce in any way other than how controllable and useful they are, but in more of a 'I did what I had to do' kinda way. Younger Vlad has better motivations and interests but he still falls a bit short of seeing the Kin as a group of living individuals and treats them with an interest that is still a little divorced from the group themselves. Like how people will treat unknown and 'exotic' cultures as things to be studied rather than still living practices that aren't for gawking at. The Kin are portrayed as barbaric and strange, and seen as beasts that need a strong hand to govern them, and while you can not follow this path and give them the space and freedom they deserve, you don't really learn much more about them and what makes them so unique as a culture, or understand their ways in a way that matters to Artemy as someone who is supposed to be related to them
The Nocturnal ending is very depressing, and I understand the point it was trying to make. By keeping things preserved in the past you essentially kill the future. A world that only looks behind can never look forward so it feels timeless and like its stuck in place. There is no future to be had. But my question is, why is it associated with the Kin flourishing and the town dying? Why is that seen as such a bad thing?
The Diurnal ending brings about a future, a new life for the town. They can leave behind what has happened and move forward unto better things. There is a future to be had and tomorrow is brighter than today. But why did the Kin have to be sacrificed for that to happen? Why is this culture that was part of the foundation for the town, that was enslaved and essentially massacred out of neglect and control, not deserving of a chance to flourish and move forward as well? The Kin don't really hold back the town, they aren't really part of the town in the first place, they don't want to be part of the town
It feels a though there were some biases that slipped into the writing and while it doesn't make the overall experience bad, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when I think about it. Something has to be sacrificed for something to survive, but it felt a lot more black and white than the game had been making it out to be. You can free the Kin, allow them to live in their old settlement, allow them to exist free of appression for the first time in goodness knows how long. But it doesn't really make a difference if bringing about the future means they will all die anyway
Idk I just wish there was more nuance to it all, and that it didn't feel like a colonial/settler bias seeping into the work. It could've been done much better, but I understand what they were going for

Ssssssigh. I don’t think I will ever be able to talk about shit like this off anon even tough I have accepting friends I’m just shyyyyy, but I need to babble of how the idea of shipcest reader insert blankshipping is consuming me. Y/N as the third sibling to the twins, wether they actually are a younger /older sibling or a “fun fact: the subway masters are actually triplets and have a non identical sibling” kind of deal, I am currently just smitten with the idea of Y/N that is actually related to them. The twins themself share a special bond that borders on twin thelepathy and it can make one feel like they are being left out, but they love the heck out if their non identical sibling as well. Bonus points for Y/N and Emmet actually hooking up first, Ingo knowing, but pointedly ignoring it / feeling guilty because in his confused mind he feels directly responsible for this, like his disgusting thoughts somehow seeped over to them. Which in turn both of his younger siblings to team up and try to get their Nii-San to join them, he deserves all their love as well. Come on Ingo don’t derail this three car train, we were both perfectly depraved even without you “corrupting us”, but if our darling big brother is just as perverted as we are there is no need to hide it from us no? Maybe we should give him some gentle but firm encouragement, make out a bit n in front of him, show him what he’s missing, call out for him when we kiss so he just knows how much his siblings want him to join?
notes: incest
i'm glad that despite your shyness, this blog could be a place for you to share your thoughts :D!! ingo and emmet incest stuff will forever hold a special place in my heart, so im always happy to write about it HAHA
I've always really liked the idea of Reader being a younger sibling of them! And the whole twin telepathy thing, you've hit the nail right on the head for me as well… I always kind of like the internal conflict of sibling!Reader seeing how close they are, how they can seemingly understand each other without words, and how they wish that they could have something like that for themselves… But knowing that it's not something achievable. Because while Ingo and Emmet understand you better than most people, it's still not the same.
Perhaps this desire for closeness got twisted somewhere along the way, and that's how everything ended up like this. You felt desire for, and later, a feeling of satisfaction in sharing something with Emmet that he didn't with Ingo, as far as you knew, at least.
Still, it probably happened in some kind of drunken state of mind, because to make the first move on your brother takes a special kind of courage. I think that Emmet would very enthusiastically reciprocate, honestly. With this kind of dynamic, I really enjoy the idea that they've all just been secretly pining for each other for years.
Ingo is the one who has always felt the guiltiest about it, and the most disgusting. He's also the one that thought about you the most often. Even though he's seen you the first time, and left without you noticing, he watched for far, far too long instead of stopping you.
When you and Emmet try to convince him to join, Ingo freezes up entirely. The words that usually flow so readily from his lips have dried up entirely. The part of him that hopes that this is a dream, and that it's not, clash with equal powers. He knows he's kind of standing at a point of no return.
His silence, combined with the expression that's unreadable, even for you, someone who knows him so long, is somewhat terrifying. You shoot Emmet a nervous glance, but he seems unconcerned. He was the one who told you it was definitely okay to do this, after all.
And yet… With your lips still slick with Emmet's spit, you ask: "You… Don't think I'm disgusting for this, do you? You don't hate me?"
"Of course not," Ingo breathes out. "I could never." And he takes a shaky first step forward, and he never looks back.

here’s some Hex hcs about some of the characters in no particular order!:
Reginald doesn’t like drinking rootbeer or most sodas! he likes making it, serving it (used to kind of), but gag if he has too much of it. He only drinks it in small sips and even then, it’s only for special occasions or get togethers. He actually prefer things that are sour and i mean, this man can eat a lemon whole and be fine. He has been working on making specialized rootbeer that’s more sour but it’s a work in progress (Weasel accidently drank a sample and almost threw up)
Reggie’s first name is Rootbeer and he fucking hates being called that. Every time he introduces himself, he has to insist the person calls him “Reggie”. When the patrons found about this, you can bet Weasel and Chandrelle took turns calling him Rootbeer just to piss him off
Going off of names, “Chief Bryce” is not Bryce’s full name, it’s just Bryce. Chief is just a title. If anyone did call him Chief, he wouldn’t mind at all though
FPP’s actual name is Lionel according to the Walk, but due to...reasons, they don’t like the name at all. Honestly, I think they would change their name to “Joe”. It sounds weird, but when Rebecha called them “Faceless Joe” I can totally imagine them clinging onto the name only because it has barely any association with Lionel. They try to separate themselves from Lionel so much.
O btw in my hc, FPP uses they/them pronouns exclusively!!
FPP has a couple ways of communicating with the inn members: sign language (they learned how to do it themselves and then taught the others how to. Can be difficult for them because they can’t move their arms very well), Morse code (same story), simply drawing or writing it out, using sound effects from a soundboard they found (uses this if they want to annoy everyone), or using face masks to express how they feel about something.
Oh yeah speaking of that, FPP can’t really move their joints very well :(. They can move their arms up and down as an example, but can only move them left or right a little bit.
Rust’s vision is super fucked. Literally, he can’t see anything that isn’t 2 feet in front of him.
Rust does know that Rocky isn’t his biological son, just never cared to tell Rocky because 1. he didn’t want Rocky feeling any type of way and 2. It doesn’t matter to him that much, Rocky will always be his kid, regardless if they are biologically related
Lazarus has cosmic radiation, thats canon. But, because of said radiation, his immune system is incredibly weak. If he gets the flu, he’ll go from being sick to critical condition in minutes. It’s also why he does get sick often
While Catarina says their relationship is like “Master/follower” it’s really not the case. However, I will say that it can sometimes manifest and is an unhealthy flaw of their relationship. Jeremiah can be a bit too loyal to the point of putting himself in danger to get Reggie what he wants and Reggie's stubbornness can lead him to getting mad when Jerry says no (Which is rare). Still, fighting between them is rare and when it does happen, it is absolutely not something you want to stick around for.
Thankfully, they don’t last very long because they’re both lonely and being away from each other for more than 10 minutes is painful. Longest they fought and refused to talk to each other was a month (and it was hell for everyone involved)
Chandrelle is introverted as hell!! I usually think of her and Lazarus on opposite sides of being antisocial. like “oh no people!! (Lazarus) vs. Ew people (Chandrelle)”
FPP loves giving hugs and holding hands!! They were stuck in the walk which had barely any characters they could physically interact with so sometimes they’ll go up to any of them and either ask for a hug or hold out their hand.
FPP does love his new found family very much. For all their flaws, he does appreciate how they basically accepted them in and it shows with how nice they are to them...even if they can be a bit creepy about it, by following them around and trying to hang out or watching them do their thing intently
Lazarus doesn’t smile very often, but when he does, it’s the most awkward smile ever. Even his laugh sounds a bit off because he’s not used to doing it. Chandrelle loves it though, it’s honestly cute (He gets a bit annoyed when she says that)
JUNIOR TRANS!!! Changed his gender after SOL and went to Vicious Galaxy (Moji is a gender neutral name with Moglees and honestly look at them, they do have a little bit gnc swag). Also in the files, he goes being referred to “mojikid” or “kid” to “mojison” so,,,  trans rights. Also love the idea of Lazarus and him having a moment of understanding with each other
I imagine Wizarro constantly changes his story with the lipstick on his cheek and how he got it (“I was in a dating sim once”, “it was a secret in joke with the creators”, and “I had a secret relationship with one of the fighters ;)” as examples). Are any of them true? Probably not but he just likes to fuck with people, hes a funny little wizard man.
Ok one more because this is getting long: I hc Irving as bisexual. Not just because I am making “every dmg character is queer” a reality but also because of this meme: “get a girlfriend” “or a boyfriend! He’s bi.” “Damn nobody wants you fr 😂😂 ” “I’m saying like 😂😂” (Changed it to laughing because i love bullying him FWQEWERG, imagine any of the inn patrons @ him)

Hmm flying pasta huh? You've given us much food for thought, Mouse. It's all a bit confusing, so I have to use little but of my brain here. But let's see... HnM, and essentially the BRF, is throwing a lot of random, some true some false, stories out there to see what gets the audience engaged. Right?
Trying to list all the random pasta being thrown out lately. As in, all the random disconnected PR tangents out there. Let me know if I'm missing something ..
1. HnM are separating and their marriage is really bad (too.much chatter about this, makes me think this is not true and very much orchestrated by HnM themselves to further their joint victim narrative)
2. The car chase
3. Random awards for Meghan and her humanitarian work
4. Meghan got new agent, WME. She is going solo. My guess is WME was already engaged by Harry for zoom/lecture circuit but it was not official. This is because he has been working with Jill, Serena william's agent for sometime now. Meghan then hired WME the agency via Jill's recommendation.
5. They will not do any more interviews, podcasts, shows about the BRF.
6. Harry and his Visa issue and that court caseim the US (my guess is nothing will happen with that and that Harry already got his O1 Visa renewal this year. It's a 3 years visa that he first got in/around June 2020)
7. Harry and his very many media lawsuits in the UK.
8. Harry maybe is, maybe isn't still a counselor or state. He keeps going back to UK just when his dad is overseas. Once can be a coincidence, but twice??
9. HnM looking for houses in LA
10. HnM selling their montecito mansion. Or renting it out?
11. Harry has a spare room always on hold at a hotel in LA/SF. (Previously this same rumours came out about Meghan but turned out she was shooting for her podcast at the hotel)
12. HnM and their mystery friend whose house address they did not want to disclose in NYC. My guess is that it was Fitzpatrick the hotel guy.
13. Travlyst put a new ad out a few weeks ago. Interesting timing, and my guess is that Travelyst and the CHIMPO gig are somehow related to Harry's visa and tax status. That's why the only time we hear about Travelyst is 2020 and 2023 when his Visa was due.
14. HnM will make a royal feature film for Netflix. My guess, HnM and neyfy will work that into the promotion for The Crown S6, that's the only way HnM will make any money.
15. Charles and Camilla don't like Catherine. That's the weirdest news I have heard lately, and think it's not true at all. Mainly because Catherine is too classy to let a fued with the King and Queen be known publicly within months of their reign.
16. Harry has hired lawyers months back.
This is a very long list and I'm sure I missed some points. I'm just wondering what the purpose for PR salad is... how does it serve HnM other than just keeping them in the news cycle? Where's the money for them in this?
And how does it serve the BRF other than just putting the main players under immense (and unnecessary) scrutiny?
Hello! Thank you for this lovely, thought out and detailed message!! You definitely named a lot of the main PR Pasta stories I was discussing. From what I've read here, you have three main questions:
1. How does this serve H&M?
2. Where is the money in all of this?
3. How does the Flying Pasta Game serve the BRF aside from putting the main players under immense and unneccesary scrutiny?
Let's look at question 1:
If you strip back the sensationalism that is in the press, and you strip back the titles, money, and fame... what do Harry and Meghan really have to offer? Not much. Keeping them in the press, like you mentioned in your question, does keep them relevant. And, we'll discuss why this equates to dollars in a moment. But, think of this. If Meghan and Harry weren't in the press... all their critics would move on. They don't need fans, as they don't have a whole lot of them in truth. They need people to criticize them so they can cash in on those victim interviews. But those have run out.
If you remember, this mouse said way back in the day that eventually MM and H would run out of steam regarding the victim narrative and the BRF. You can't be a victim of someone you aren't even allowed to see. UNLESS... they can use the press to weaponize it and keep this going until something better comes along.
A lot of the time, people give narcs and cons too much credit. They think that these people go out and have detailed master plans, and most times, it is just on the fly, go with the flow kind of things. While there IS ALWAYS a general plan and direction, there isn't a step-by-step, day-by-day list of boxes to check. Most Narcs make it up as they go. And it's that way because information is always changing. One insignificant little point someone says could be something used against them later.
So, to summarize my answer for the first question... ultimately, the press not only keeps them relevant in a fast forgetting world, it also gives them a way to perpetuate the victim narrative. Most importantly, these stories give the powers that be feedback on the general public. You can't read the comments section and see if it's the right time to drop something or do something if you don't have anything written about you.
Question 2: How does that equate to money?
Well, at face value it does not. But, EVERY pap shot and leaked source story probably follows with a favor or payout. The laws in CA are strict. You cannot take the picture of a child and publish it without consent of the parents first. So if you see a picture of their children, and they aren't suing... it is because they can't sue after consent. Like Harry suing PageSix rumors.
Even when they are not getting paid with direct cash for scoops, stories, or pictures from Paps... they are using these stories to garner sympathy and empathy from people with money, planes, houses, beaches, etc. We saw proof of this recently from TB. Tom Bower said that is exactly why everyone marked them as grifters. They keep pushing woe-is-me to get handouts. They also use these stories to create relationships with people to manipulate them. An example of this is how MM used Jessica Mulroney to get into SoHo. If you can relate to someone, you can get them to trust you. If they trust you, you can get them to help you. If they will help you, you can manipulate them later on. It's how cons use emotions to manipulate.
Now to Question 3: How does this serve the BRF aside from creating unneccessary pressures (paraphrasing of course):
I am a firm believer that Daddy never cut Harry completely off. For several reasons aside from the source I have in London. I've posted their actual mortgage docs way back. The mortage, escrow, upkeep, etc... well let's just say the bank put a clause in there where they could rent the property out at any time, and they could do whatever they legally can to recoup that money for the mortgage. It even says if they fail to upkeep maintenance, they will come in and keep it up and then bill them.
While most rich and famous trusts are like that, the payments for the property alone are astronomical. Then security. Clothes. Cars. Trips. Appearances. Hair. Makeup, ETC.
It is expensive. And they haven't brought much in to set that off. So who is injecting the gap funds? IMO Daddy is paying for it all.
These stories are serving the BRF at least two-fold. Charles looks like the dad who tried everything. Wills the brother burdened with the crown he didn't ask for, and now little brother is estranged. Insert poor family member of the narcs and cons story here. The second way it serves them is because it keeps everyone focused on this drama instead of the other dramas they could be focusing on. It doesn't matter if the rumors are true... if it takes our attention away from LITERALLY ANY OTHER scandalous senationalist story regarding Andrew, or the suitcases of Cash, or the Rose rumors. Even the lizard rumors (LOL THAT IS A JOKE). Confusion is the goal here.
Another way this serves the BRF is it allows Charles to gauge the public opinion. YouGov polls aren't what they seem. Polling is very skewed. As with the Harkles, this allows for an echo chamber. This allows for Charles to see what his real options are with containment.
Charles is an expert with the Press. He has managed to turn the other woman (IMO the only woman, as he loved her but married for duty) into the Queen. When they wed in 2005, did you expect Queen Camilla? I didn't.
Charles is self-absorbed, and you can see that by how he acts in the shadows. He told his mother he cut Harry off because he wasn't a bank. But yet, there is really no proof he cut anything or anyone off. Just them hoping we all buy it. And I do not.
You do not release something as explosive as Meghan and Harry from the fishbowl unless you have a goal or you have no choice. I've said it before, and I will remind some readers...
I believe the Queen kicked Harry and Meghan out. I believe she made them leave. And I believe that Charles always had it in his mind, that if he had to do it to protect his own hide and reign. I believe he would pay for every kind of story to see how gullible we are all and how we all feel about things.
If you know the masses will forgive surrogacy but not smack-talking a dying lady in her late nineties, you can proceed differently.
Summary:
Q1: H&M use the press to get paid for leaks, pap shots, and mainly to keep themselves relevant. They curate and change themselves to fit the response
Q2: H&M benefit from always being in the news because they can use the victim narrative to manipulate and grift their targeted people. They probably already have an audience and purpose in mind with every story. Stories are the way cons use and abuse their targets
Q3: The BRF benefits from the Flying Pasta Stories because it keeps the masses focused on that trainwreck instead of other issues. They benefit from using the narrative to garner their own empathy. They benefit by seeing how the public will respond to potential decisions, too.
At the end of the day, I cannot believe that Harry and Meghan can afford everything they claim they are doing. And when I got contacted from a London source, I started to see things from a different perspective. When some of the things I was told came true, well... I started to change my whole outlook. It all boils down to data analysis. All of this provides data, and it allows them to manipulate people with the stories on both sides.
When I was in active conman mode, I would often just post stories on my social media so that my friends and family would see them. Say I knew one friend just got paid and they lost their mom to cancer... I would make up some nonsense to use that connection to pull on their heartstrings to get their money. I did it in all kinds of ways. I am ashamed of the things I used to do, and it is why I try to expose it when I see it now. This holds me to account in my own way. That's why I see things the way I do. I see what I used to do right there in the news all the time. And it's sad that it's allowed to happen. Because journalism isn't what is was before.
Thanks so much for the question, and I am deeply impressed with your list so far!!

Passage 24
Those who stand on tiptoes do not stand firmly. Those who rush ahead don’t get very far. Those who try to outshine others dim their own light. Those who call themselves righteous can’t know how wrong they are. Those who boast of their accomplishments diminish the things they have done.
Compared to the Tao, these actions are unworthy. If we follow the Tao, we must not do these things.
While the scope of this passage could be seen as quite narrow (“don’t overreach”), I think it does a nice job of showing many different manifestations of overreaching and tying them all together into a single behavior that one should avoid:
First, there is the admonishment to create solid foundations before moving on to the next thing (rather than standing on tiptoes). Learning the fundamentals makes every subsequent level of proficiency easier to achieve and maintain.
Next, the idea of pacing oneself. This could be related to the first, but can also stand on its own. Over-committing, letting oneself become exhausted by failing to maintain a sustainable workload, this can happen within a single endeavor or across the entire span of a person’s activities.
Measuring your success based entirely on competition, on trying to make other people look bad in comparison to your accomplishments, isn’t something we would often think of as overreach. However, if someone is in a position where they think that’s the surest path to success, they probably aren’t that good at what they’re doing anyway. Someone who’s confident in their abilities should be secure enough to want to pull others up along with them, not push them down.
Righteousness is always used as a “bad word” in the Tao te Ching, mostly because it implies a mindset where one thinks they are truly, unquestionably right. And this, too, is a type of overreach. Taoism teaches that being so sure about “knowing” things leaves you inflexible and unable to see your own biases and knowledge gaps. Therefore, anyone who is righteous, who thinks they are holding the only correct position, is necessarily always, always wrong.
Finally, boasting. The idea here is that, if an accomplishment needs to be boasted about in order to make someone feel accomplished… was it really that great of an accomplishment? Truly amazing things should stand on their own, and bragging only raises the question of why it needed to be talked up in the first place. In this way, bragging is overreaching the quality of an accomplishment.
I think it is helpful to group these behaviors under a single umbrella, because it causes us to step back and consider a root cause for them, rather than admonishing them one at a time.

On Self-Diagnosis
Something that has long been discussed in autistic spaces (and in other spaces related to cognitive disabilities too) is the validity of self-diagnosis. The Neurodiversity Movement is largely pro self-diagnosis. However, there are many people who are against the idea altogether. It just so happens that in the early days of the Neurodiversity Movement, a term was coined by Xenia Grant that has largely been lost to time-that being cousins. You can read more about the origins of cousins in History of ANI (under “strangers and cousins”) and in a blog post by Mel Baggs. People used “ACs” aka “autistics and cousins” when referring to people who were autistic and/or otherwise neurodivergent. The first person to be deemed a cousin was a man with hydrocephalus. He was not autistic, but many of his experiences with hydrocephalus were similar to the experiences of autistic people involved with Autism Network International.
People who are anti-self diagnosis tend to be so because they are afraid that people can just claim to have a certain condition and then invade spaces meant for those people as well as speak over people with an actual diagnosis. I personally have never witnessed someone deliberately pretending to be autistic in order to accomplish this. It is entirely possible that these people exist, but if they do, then they aren’t in significant enough numbers to really make a critical mass. This may be an issue with other brain based disabilities, but I am not as familiar with those spaces if it’s an actual issue there. I will say that the hysterics I’ve heard about people self-diagnosing themselves on Tik Tok are probably way over exaggerated and I don’t think it’s that much of an issue in the real world outside of the app. People self-diagnose before getting an official diagnosis. This is a totally normal and reasonable thing to do. Another thing I have not witnessed, that many anti-self diagnosis people are afraid of, is people self-diagnosing and then turning out to be wrong. Could this happen? Absolutely. But even then, I wouldn’t be so quick as to make them walk the plank. Being anti-self diagnosis is an exclusionary attitude, and seems to be more based on fear than being based on much actual evidence.
The reason many who are pro-self diagnosis are for it is because of the many barriers that exist to getting an official diagnosis in the first place. They are very costly, and the assessments made for said diagnoses are culturally biased and based on an improper understanding of the disability because the majority of people who design these tests lack lived experience. People of color and people assigned female at birth tend to not be diagnosed until later in life. These are things some anti-self DX folks will acknowledge, but they will still hold fast that self-diagnosis is invalid. I’ve heard the suggestion that someone should say “I think I’m autistic” instead of saying they are self-diagnosed. The thing is, there is literally zero difference between those two things. It’s being overly pedantic for the sake of exclusion. A diagnosis in and of itself isn’t even a privilege. It can lead to further discrimination by professionals and service providers. An early diagnosis can lead to a childhood full of condescending and possibly even violent treatment in early interventions and special education, as well as from peers. So paradoxically, an official diagnosis can be both a privilege and not a privilege.
Another thing I’ve seen anti-self DX people do is weigh the opinions of people later diagnosed with less authenticity than those who were early diagnosed. Why should it matter when someone gets a diagnosis? It almost feels like they’re moving the goalposts. Yes, it’s true that people later diagnosed often speak over people who received a childhood diagnosis, who actually have experience with the likes of ABA and special ed. However, there is a very unique set of challenges that comes from going through a significant portion of your life without knowing something so vital about understanding yourself that cannot be ignored. It’s somewhat similar to the dichotomy between being born with a disability and acquired disability. They are two separate experiences for sure, but there is also plenty of overlap to the point where weighing one experience as more valid than the other really doesn’t make sense. There are also people who did get a diagnosis, but were never told by their caregivers. There is some level of ableism faced by people in each instance, so why gatekeep so hard? I can think of several reasons, but the main reason to me is because they want to keep finding ways of telling themselves that the opinions of people they disagree with have something to do with them being illegitimate, and not because they actually may have the agency to come to a different conclusion about something than they have. They’re putting other people down and attacking their character to make themselves feel better. Another word for that is bullying.
So this brings me back around to cousins. If someone is a “cousin” to an autistic person, or someone with Cerebral Palsy, for example, there’s enough shared experience despite not having the same disability that it really doesn’t matter who’s really one thing or another. As Mel talked about, it can easily be used to further gatekeep, though given the inherently friendly and inclusionary nature of it, that should not be the case. Diagnostic criteria and labels are constantly changing, too. So even with that, the idea of cousins stands strong. It means that if you have similar enough experience with a group of people to relate to them on a deep level, then you are invited to the table.

Kanan and the Bendu
I thought this relationship had a lot more screentime than it ended up having, so I have a little less to say probably than I anticipated having at the end of this season, but let's go.
The Bendu is a fascinating character, if one that I think goes against the laws of how the Force works according to Lucas (there is no "middle", there's no "gray" only balance and imbalance/dark). I think this concept of this being who is unspeakably old, centuries, millennia, more, who lives by himself and calls to the first Force Sensitive person to set foot on his planet probably in a LONG time, is quite intriguing. He's like Yoda, obviously, in that his point of view is very affected by his age and all, and it makes him incredibly wise and mysterious but sometimes difficult to understand and difficult to move from his opinion.
And I find his relationship with Kanan really interesting and it's incredibly unfortunate that they didn't show it more during season three.
But to me, it felt like the inclusion of the Bendu was to give Kanan a Master again, to give Kanan a chance to grow as a Jedi Knight, to move past the level of training Depa was able to give him before she died. Kanan was "knighted" by the Force, by Yoda maybe speaking through the image of the Grand Inquisitor, back in season two. And he is learning and growing as a person, learning and growing emotionally. But Kanan undergoes a trauma at the end of season two that means he now has to push past the training he'd already gotten in order to continue with the work he was doing. And in doing so, he gains a level of wisdom and balance he hadn't really had before. Kanan feels more like a Jedi Master in season three than a Jedi Knight, even if that's how he introduces himself. He's as calm and centered as Obi-Wan is, and we get to see that comparison in this very season. Which might not be a coincidence!
And this happens because he gains someone he can go to for support, he trusts the Bendu to hold onto a dangerous object for him, he introduces his Padawan to the Bendu and the Bendu sets up a test for Kanan and Ezra that will either bring them back in balance or tear them apart. The Bendu gives Kanan something he never thought he'd get, the chance to truly finish his training.
But of course, the Bendu is not a Jedi, he's not interested in Kanan's Jedi values, in helping innocents. He seems to find Kanan amusing, a cute distraction from his long life for a time, but little else. He helps Kanan, but only up to a point. Kanan has to then grow BEYOND the Bendu.
I find the Bendu interesting because he DOES take an interest in Kanan, because he SEEMS kind and wise and in many ways he is, but his values that so help Kanan reach balance also end up becoming dangerous and turn from balance to apathy in the end. I love that the Bendu's wisdom seems to come at the price of indifference, despite the fact that he's the one who calls Kanan in the first place, works to help Kanan when Kanan didn't actually ask for it. He cares right up until he doesn't, he's wise until he's indifferent, he's compassionate until he's cruel. And Kanan can relate, he can relate to the Bendu just wanting to remove himself from the cruelty of the galaxy, to pretend the galaxy can just go on without him if he just hides himself away, but has already learned that it means innocent people get hurt and die and he can't abide that. Kanan understands the Bendu's indifference, but no longer shares it. He's unwilling to lose a thousand lives just to spare his own.
He learns how to see from the Bendu, learns how to connect to the galaxy on a deeper level than ever before.
But he learned the true meaning of sacrifice from Depa Billaba, not just how to die for your student, but how to live for the galaxy, how to fight to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
